"Why not?" is the better question. The proof of burden lays upon the intervention. |

The industrialized world is constantly suffering a crisis of capital by varying degrees, but Greece is facing a possible currency collapse. Meanwhile peripheral countries are under siege by imperialism. Their state of affairs is nothing new, though it is important to differentiate the issues. Greece has a unique situation due to its membership of the EU and the fact that its fate determines what course of action the rest of the euro zone must take in order to avoid further meltdown. Also, assuming that "almost everywhere has problems with terrorist attacks" is a detrimental perspective. That's just insane - first objectively then even more so from a rhetorical standpoint. It would literally be an ideological viewpoint of the paranoid. Also, assuming that "almost everywhere has problems with terrorist attacks" is a detrimental perspective. LegolasJJH : It pretty much happens during all parts of the day. Also, my connection is cable so it loads things fairly quickly. Crazy Li : I only have some basic add-ons (outside of the RGR player). I've also tried clearing the cache. IE doesn't seem to have this problem...but I really don't want to use IE. It's pretty bad and would probably lead to worse problems. Well, thanks for the heads up, friends. I will keep an eye on the issue. Perhaps someone else has had the same problem and will be able to help out. Your argument is basing impressions off the aesthetic, but I'm glad to read it due to the fact that it's representing the same stigma I want to address. If that lawyer is the best at his job then why discriminate against hand tattoos? This question might have more to do with how culture perpetuates itself. For example, where does one learn that the art of tattoos cannot be incorporated into the workplace? I have wondered if we would have a tattooed president (or maybe we already have and didn't know it). Honestly, I would prefer politicians to have things like tattoos to show that they are actually involved with our community. Rather than one of elites who make decisions based on ruling class interests and so on and so forth. This question might have more to do with how culture perpetuates itself. "Greek anti-fascist protesters 'tortured by police' after Golden Dawn clash" http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/oct/09/greek-antifascist-protesters-torture-police These are scary times for Greeks: staggering unemployment rates, the failure of the previous and current government to resist austerity attacks, the high price of food, police violence, etc. However, in this period of unrest we can see what floats to the top of socio-political discussion. The dominating theme is the cry for meeting basic needs for any human being. Public support for the openly fascist group known as Golden Dawn rose to approximately 20% in recent polls. The end of last month saw widespread remembrance for Greek Nazi collaborators during the Second World War. Why has this group received so much attention? Because their rhetoric and tactics are targeting the disgruntled members of society. They open food lines in the same ways which churches hold cook-outs to hopefully convince people to join their group. Only Golden Dawn isn't trying to spread the word of a long dead Palestinian who claimed to be Messiah. No - GD's political agenda contains violent xenophobic legislation and the increase control of Greek police. These tactics are very similar to the Nazi rise of power in the early 1930s. GD claims they have no Neo-Nazi affiliations, yet their members commit antisemitic graffiti, attack ethnic minorities, and celebrate Nazi achievements. Regardless, the situation in Greece is becoming quite dire. The most horrifying question is who will grasp the reins during this turmoil? http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/oct/09/greek-antifascist-protesters-torture-police These are scary times for Greeks: staggering unemployment rates, the failure of the previous and current government to resist austerity attacks, the high price of food, police violence, etc. However, in this period of unrest we can see what floats to the top of socio-political discussion. I have two tattoos, myself, but this post is a question to other ink sporting folks. Do you think the mainstream social stigma of showing a tattoo is changing with the current generation? It feels like a clear majority of people in the 20-30 age bracket either have a tattoo or have plans to get one. However, lots of places of business still enforce uniform rules to cover them. I find this strange considering everywhere I have worked had mid to upper management with tattoos or piercings. I suppose this is directed more so to the U.S. posters since my stay in Europe last Fall had a vastly different culture. (Preface: I use Mozilla Firefox. Currently up-to-date.) Hi folks, Minor nuisance: I have yet to have consistently working access to the "Board" directory on the website. The navigation on the bottom right of the forums works fine so using the board itself has not been a problem. However, when I click on the Board link it loads about half the page then only shows a glimpse of the rest of it after I redirect to a different part of the site. Here's a pic of the eternal loading: ![]() Hi folks, Minor nuisance: I have yet to have consistently working access to the "Board" directory on the website. I had a feeling this article was hogwash:
http://rt.com/news/egypt-destroy-pyramids-islamists-007/ "Calls from a Bahraini Sunni cleric to destroy Egypt’s Great Pyramids have been revealed as a hoax. The demands were made from a Twitter account which claimed to be owned by Bahrain’s President of National Unity, Abd al-Latif al-Mahmoud. In the post, a person masquerading as al-Mahmoud labeled the pyramids “idolatrous” and asked Egypt’s new president to destroy them, as Egypt's Daily News reports. Several conservative websites used the news to raise alarm over the rise of Egypt’s Islamist government. " Anything posted by the Pamela Geller is going to be trash. She is a hate filled bigot. http://rt.com/news/egypt-destroy-pyramids-islamists-007/ "Calls from a Bahraini Sunni cleric to destroy Egypt’s Great Pyramids have been revealed as a hoax. Today I learned that my baby don't mess around since she loves me so. This I know...for sure. I thought, though, does she really love wanna but can't see me walk out the door? I'm trying to not to fight the feeling because the thought alone is killing me right now. I thank God for Mom and Dad for sticking two together. We really don't know how. |

This study is correlative so its spurious relationship can only be taken so seriously. I do think there's a grain of truth, though. Most people are fairly competent and one of the things I find betrays a human being from learning is confidence. Alcohol obviously imbues an individual with the power to ignore any timidness and thus results in a full on attempt to answer a question (even if it is foolhardy). |

Green tea is great. A good blend doesn't need any kind of sweetener for me. However, I work at Starbucks and we sell a "Green Tea Latte." How gross is this concept? Let me count the ways: 1. We don't brew actual leaves for this drink. It's just a questionable looking matcha powder which arrives to the store in bricks. 2. It's a latte so that means it has steamed milk in it. Or soy. Doesn't really matter though because it's all mixed in with the nasty power. 3. The standard to mix this crime against humanity is to swirl it around like some kind of cocktail. I tried this method ONCE during training and have foregone it ever since. It just bunches into balls of green looking clumps and falls to the bottom. 4. And last but not least...it tastes like a cup of farts. People order it in the strangest possible ways. Like the other day someone ordered a soy green tea latte with pumpkin spice. I honestly wished I had the power to deny a customer service because handing out that drink was one of the most painful experiences of my barista experience. 1. I keep reading the title of this thread as "Why does fart smell so good?" then I become extremely disappointed with the actual subject. |

Best Buy is the Wal-mart of computers and electronic equipment. I will shop there if necessary, but I will always be able to buy a better item for cheap online. A BB computer salesperson was actually my first job when I turned 16. They have general run-of-the-mill slimy corporate practices: up sale things people don't need, run an efficient standard for ever store regardless of customer base, increase competition amongst employees while diminishing benefits, etc. |

Depression, like many things in life, is complicated. There's no magic bullet to make it go away. To be honest, I don't like the way modern psychology or medicine approaches depression. It treats it like an illness that requires the right combination of drugs and an expensive psychotherapist. I have seen this approach work in some people, though most cases I have seen it only temporarily help, and I have by far seen more people dive deeper in the darkness of the condition. Well, you know why I think we can all give a set of relating situations to depression? Because it's a process that's involved with our lives. Depression shouldn't be treated like a long-term disease because there's very little empirical evidence which proves that to be true. Depression appears more so to be the realization of how difficult it is to maintain our daily needs, juggle relationships, plan for the future, etc. and during this all end up being happy at the end of the day. My experience and advice is anecdotal. I battled some extremely bad times and, while I am very content with my life today, unfortunately I have to say sometimes things can look pretty bad. Two things that helped me: (1) - finding a good core group of friends to build my confidence and (2) - fostering an outlet as a way of dealing with bad feelings. Philosophy and community activism were my starting points and within those areas I was able to find solace in the struggle. Eventually I was able to travel and meet new people and today I'm happily going day-by-day even with minimum wage in a crowded house with three other roommates. Making it in this world isn't easy and I won't lie and say otherwise. However I can confidently say it gets easier to handle with experience. You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders, though, so imagine this fact: you were given existence out of the infinite amount of possibilities in this universe. Despite the hardships, trials and tribulations, Earth is an amazing place to explore. Life itself is beautiful and there's only a matter of time until you find what will make you happy. Racism is an institution perpetuated by our current system. Of course, it existed pre-industrial capital, but in very different forms. Today's racism is a blurry lined mechanism that takes different shapes in order to utilize divisions in the working class population. One of the major foundations of racism is the idea of who "is and isn't" a member of the community. Anyone who participates in our society should be considered a member of the community. Unfortunately, there are interests in place which try to convince people otherwise. This leads to things like Islamophobia and prejudice against people of color. |

This one time I had to choose between a root beer flavored Dum Dum and a mystery flavor. I picked the mystery flavor which turned out to be Pina Colada. I have lost countless nights of sleep living with that regret. I have lost countless nights of sleep living with that regret. |
