How come I'm suddenly no longer on the new user list? Did I do something wrong? lol

I mean, I know I wont be winning anything, especially since I haven't exactly been able or up to posting for the last week... But I was at least happy to be in second place on the new user list...

bsubroncos11 : I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Tom Brady's Super Bowl winning days are behind him. He is passed his prime and everything will be down hill for him and the Patriots from here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if last year is the last time we see Tom Brady in a Super Bowl.

I just noticed I didn't give my picks this year, so I'll go ahead and break my thoughts down real quick.

The Packers are easily the strongest team in the NFC right now, mostly because of Aaron Rodgers. If he has a season even half as good as his previous two, the Packers will be making it far if not all the way.

The 49ers are the most complete team in the NFC, but they are still clinging to a sub-par quarterback as if he might actually get better. It is truly a pity they didn't getting Peyton during the off season. With him at the helm, provided they gave he adequate protection, it could have been like the 49ers of the 80s and early 90s all over again.

Speaking of Peyton Manning, I have my suspicions that the Broncos isn't going to be the right fit for him. I don't think they can provide him enough protection for him to flourish in Denver and I have serious concerns for his health this season.

The way things look right now, I have a feeling the AFC representative for Super Bowl 47 will come out of the North. The Ravens have a consistently strong team with a seasoned quarterback that is on more than he is off, the Bengals are, in my honest opinion, the most complete team in the NFL now (all they need is another year or two for Dalton to fully develop and a few more holes filled and they will be a force to be reckoned), and the Steelers always find a way to make their A game count even when they don't appear to be a very strong team. Even the Browns are beginning to look a little less like a crappy team as each year passes.

I think the Super Bowl this year will be the Packers or 49ers versus the Ravens or Bengals. I'm personally leaning toward the Packers to take it all for the second time in three years.

like how this thread, meant to commemorate the lives of those that ended at the Colorado Massacre, has turned into an argument about the right to bare arms. Whether or not people should be allowed to carry and own guns doesn't help the dead in any way, shape, or form. I don't think this thread was intended for a gun rights debate, rather to inform those that may not have heard about this horrible and dark mark on human history and the history of cinema. Because you know this will change the way going to the movies work,s just like September 11th changed the way we fly in airplanes. It shouldn't, but it will.

Now that I have that out of my system, here are some factoids that I have heard regarding the Massacre over the last couple of days:

- Among the victims killed in this tragedy was a six year old girl. Her mother has also shot and remains in critical condition The mother doesn't even know yet that her child is gone. That is something I don't think I could ever handle waking up to, assuming the woman actually ever wakes up...

- Three of the deceased were active service men, two from the Navy and one from the Air Force, If I'm not mistaken. It disheartens me that some people I've talked to feel that this makes what the shooter did an even greater tragedy. You know what I feel makes this a greater tragedy? The fact that a six year old girl was slaughtered by this nut case.

- Among those injured in the shooting was a six month old baby. This poor child is likely going to carry a permanent scar for all of his or her life because of that nut case. But there is, I think, a bigger question raised here. What exactly was a baby doing at the midnight showing of an R rated movie? Who are the parents and what compelled them to bring their baby to a movie that they knew would contain a lot of loud noises that might scare the poor thing and make it cry? It just seems like irresponsible parenting to me, but this isn't the big issue from that night and I will not digress any further.

- There is speculation that the shooter was a member of the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement and that he might have felt that the Bane character in this Batman movie was a parody of that movement, hence why he may have felt inclined to do what he did. If this is the case, it just further cements my belief that the OWS bull crap needs to stop and most of the people involved need to have their heads examined.

In the end, this whole ordeal is a terrible thing that should never have happened. The man responsible should be publicly executed for his crime, in my honest opinion. What I would do is place him in a movie theatre and play some really crappy movie while a shotgun rigged with a timer set to go off at some random point is aimed at his head. He will not know when that shotgun will trigger, and we will have to sit and wait for his final moment to come. That's just me, however. I feel the punishment should always reflect the crime.

Well, SamB seems as though he wants the new user jersey pretty badly, so I am likely just going to let him have it. I have a new goal in mind, one that I probably will not be able to achieve, seeing as how I will be unable to post all that much this weekend. I intend to at least try and steal away either the red or yellow jersey from Leggy. I really doubt there is enough time for me to do so, especially if leggy choose to defend his spots at the time, but I'm going to try, dang it! ......

Once my family reUNION is over at the end of this weekend, that is.

Welcome to the wonderful world of WalMart. I would be willing to bet any amount of money that the person who called the police was a bored WalMart associate, just for the sheer entertainment value. Also, as a WalMart associate myself, I can tell you that it is very annoying when people that don't need to use the handicap scooters decide to take it for a little 'joy ride' around the store. This is because, ninety-nine times out of one hundred, the joy rider will end up wrecking into a display and then run off, leaving us to clean up the mess. And, since this guy was drunk, I would be willing to bet that was bound to happen in this case as well.

Granted, you turn the game one, see the opening titles, and then a screen that says 'The End'. The entire game has been erased from existence and you now win it by simply pressing 'start', making it the easiest game ever.

I wish my neighbors would stop making foods that smell really good when I am trying to sleep!

I would have to say mine is DragonBall Z Abridged by Team Fourstar. I honestly think their parody is better than the series it was based on! But, then again, I was never a fan of DBZ to begin with, so that is a bit of a biased opinion. I liked the original DragonBall a lot more. Probably because of it's unabashed perverse humor.

I try to check it once or twice a day, but usually only to see if anything major has happened in the lives of friends and family. I really have no further interest in Facebook. Not in the many silly games that try to siphon as much money out of you as they can, not in the endless waves of funny pictures and sayings with a finger pointing at your profile picture, not in any of the mundane apps that give you a funny or inspirational say each day or your daily horoscope or any of that kind of nonsense. I really don't want to waste my time of stuff like that, so for me, Fabebook is just a means to keep tabs on people I don't see on a regular basis.

play4fun : I am afraid I am going to need a little time to compile the information for which you ask. I have a lot on my plate this week, what with my family reUNION being this Saturday and me spending most of my time catching up with people I only get to see once a year. That means I won't have enough time to gather the necessary data and also provide a suitable answer for some of your other concerns. Give me a week or two, and I will post everything I can find here for you and everyone else to read and judge as you see fit. I apologize that I must make you wait, but spending time with my family is of the utmost importance to me.

Well folks, a new season of professional football lingers in the horizon. There has been a lot of big trades during the off season, and also a lot of controversy. Peyton Manning is now in Denver, and the Broncos sent Tim Tebow packing to New York, where he will compete with Mark Sanchez for starting Quarterback. Meanwhile, The Steelers unceremoniously dropped Hines Ward and James Farrior, two of their most impactful players. In New Orleans, the Saints ae flailing in deep waters, as the bounty scandal remains fresh in the minds of many.

With everything that has happened this off season, who do you think stands the best chance of winning at Super Bowl 47? Will Manning be all the Broncos need to go all the way? Can Andrew Luck fill Peyton's shoes in Indianapolis, or will Robert Griffin, III end up being the best QB from the class of 2012? Will the Saint somehow overcome all the controversy and make their second trip to the Big Game? What do you think?

Right now, I think it is pretty clear that Joe Montana is at the top of the list. He was a force to be reckoned with when he hit the field. That being said, I am really liking what I have seen coming from Aaron Rodgers the last couple of years. He is the best player currently in the NFL, in my opinion, and he has a chance to be called the greatest of all time, if he keeps playing at the same level he is now.

Having been born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, which is a scant forty five minute drive from Cincinnati, I am a life long fan of the Bengals. Even though they are typically a mediocre team at best, I will always root for them in hopes that someday they manage to at least make it to the Super Bowl.

I also root for the Washington Redskins in the NFC, mostly because I have several friends whom are Cowboys fans and it really grinds their gears that I would root for a rival team!

I mostly listen to Alternative Rock, particularly what was released in the early '90s, as well classic rock (such and Queen or the Doors). However, I will listen to pretty much anything, so long as I feel that the music sounds good. For instance, I have been listening the LMFAO quite a bit, even though I usually despise that kind of music. What can I cay? Those boys grow on you after a while!

rcarter2 : Ah, alright. That actually makes a great deal of sense now. In all honestly, I never followed the Batman comics all that closely, so I wasn't aware that they were actually following an existing story arc. That makes me anticipate the new movie a little more, just to see if they do go through with Bane breaking Batman's back. That would be a slick way for Nolan to try and stop them from doing to his vision of batman what they ended up doing to Tim Burton's.

Sadly, I think there is a way they would get around it. If I remember correctly, there is a series called Batman Beyond, which follows a new Batman, which Bruce Wayne playing more of a Alfred type role. I know how movie studios think, and they like milking popular movie franchises until there is nothing but an empty husk of the original left. This is what they are doing with the Spiderman franchise right now, and it makes me sick to my stomach. I just hope both this new Batman movie and that new Spiderman movie are no where near as bad as Punisher Warzone. Punisher is my all time favorite comic book character, and I nearly went insane from rage when they made the second movie a mindless kill fest!

I hate music in which the lead singer tried to mask their true singing voice by either screaming as loud as they can, chanting in some sort of deep guttural drone, or using something like Auto Tune to make themselves sound better.

I also can't stand it when a so called musician samples the original works of another artist and then tries to claim it as their very own. I'm Looking at you, Vanilla Ice and Puff Daddy (or P Diddy or whatever the heck he is calling himself these days!)

I actually don't have any one specific artist which I like above all others. Instead, there is a group of artists which I listen to more than any others. They are as follows, in no particular order:

Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Tool, Queen, Bad Religion, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Doors, Van Halen, Seether, and Led Zeppelin.

Choosing only one CD as my favorite is actually quite difficult for me. Music is a huge part of my life and there are a lot that have some form a sentimental value attached to them. If I had to choose, I would go with either Nirvana's Nevermind or Queen's News of the World.

I would choose Nevermind because that CD helped me get through a very dark time in my life. Even thought the song is very sombre and sad sounding, Lithium got a lot of play when I was seventeen years old. So much so that the track actually messes up a bit if I try to play it now.

While News of the World is itself an amazing album, Queen's best in my honest opinion, my reason for selecting it is a little more personal than that. This album was the last birthday present my grandfather bought be before he died. I remember sitting at home listening to the tracks 'All Dead, All Dead' and 'Spread Your Wings' almost as nauseum right after he passed away. That makes this particular album mean just a little bit more to me than any of the others I own.

Viacom pulled this same exact stunt last year with Comcast. Only, unlike Comcast, DirectTV isn't caving in to the pressure Viacom is trying to apply with all of these 'Call your cable operator and demand they give us more money' propaganda that they have been using. I support DirectTV in this. If they have to give Viacom more money, then it is we the consumer that ultimately pays.

Right now, I have a 32 inch box television that is about fifteen years old. However, I am currently saving up the necessary funds to purchase a new TV in the near future. I am not yet sure what size I will get, but it definitely has to be at least 32 inches. I will likely upgrade to one that is a little larger now that the prices of flat screens has gone down a little bit. XD

Probably South Park. I own every season of that show and watch them pretty regularly. Other shows that I really like would be Cowboy Bebop and NCIS. I have also been watching a lot of House lately, after I heard that show is loosely based on Sherlock Holmes, one of my favorite literary characters of all time.
