Missing no boosts up your 6th item in your pocket even if you don't catch him or defeat him. Now after either catching, or defeating or even running away you see the old man in pokemon red in cinnabar island you see the old man on top of a building and then  you go inside the building you come back out, then the old man isn't there and some rumors say that if you catch missing no is he looks like a trainer as his picture and if you go back to the old man who you start to do the missing no glitch missing no is unpixelated for the eyes to see and he looks like a dead pokemon its kind of like a marowak but more dead looking but sometimes that doesnt work it has a different pokemon.
