wolf742: Well, most of the Doctor Who threads are here, though I don't think this is an incorrect place for them.

1) Tom Baker.  As you might be able to tell from my avatar (it's sort of recognizable, right?).
2) I've never really liked the companions that much.  I'm really more interested in the time-travelling alien than the (usually more ordinary) people who follow him around.  Probably either Ace or Handles.
3) Maybe Omega in his first appearance, but I didn't much like the second.  Other than that, the Daleks (do they count?  They are a species, not a single villain).
4) Let's see... annoying... every 80s companion except Ace.

In Gen V and VI, the Masuda method increases the chances of getting one by 6. I don't think it's a very useful method, though. Considering how many random encounters you can get through in the time it takes to hatch an egg, the increase in probability doesn't seem worth the increase in time. Actually, the best method (in terms of probability per attempt) would be either combining the Masuda method and Shiny Charm (which only works in Gen V), which gives a probability of about .08%, or possibly combining the Shiny Charm with chaining; the formula for shiny probability when chaining is . Since I can't find the usual shiny probability in there, I don't know where to substitute the probability altered by the charm, and of course that's assuming both work at the same time. No matter what you do, the probability will always be incredibly low. I don't think it's worth the time to search for them.

Edited to replace broken image link. It was replaced on Bulbapedia because the last one didn't account for "floor function".

I don't think Fi dies in that scene.  She doesn't make any obvious appearances (Zelda Wiki has several possible appearances, but none are all that likely), but none of the other Links have really needed her help, so that may be why.  And anyway, "sleep within the Master Sword forever" is almost identical to the line at the end of A Link to the Past, and that was definitely untrue: the Master Sword was used again in one of the Oracle games (whichever is played second) and A Link Between Worlds.  In both games, I think it may be that the characters think (or hope) the Master Sword will never be necessary again.

The first two Team Plasma episodes, along with an episode featuring Whiscash in Gen III, were postponed because of earthquakes and eventually forgotten or made irrelevant.  There's already an edited version of Electric Soldier Porygon (it's even been translated), but they can't use it.  I did find a subtitled version of it online, and I didn't have any problems.  In fact, I've found all of the banned episodes online.  I don't think any but Electric Soldier Porygon had a very good reason for being banned.  But then, it's not nearly as bad as it is in South Korea.  There, six episodes, including the battles with Erika and Koga, and the first half of the battle with Blaine, all for no reason that I can see.

The only ones I actually have are Colosseum and XD, since my only console is a Wii.  But I've played FireRed, Crystal, Emerald, and any hack that looks good on Vizzed.

One thing to remember is that we're generally not the target market here. ?There's always a newer generation who hasn't played these games much (or at all) before. They're the target market, and it makes sense to make games with a story that's known to sell well.

On the other hand, variations on this theme do seem to be successful. ?The international version of SMB2 seems to have been released only to keep the numbering consistent, and didn't include either Bowser or anyone being kidnapped. ?All the RPG games except the original Paper Mario had Bowser as an ally, and usually as a playable character. ?As long as games like those continue to sell as well as they have, we'll continue to see both new and recycled stories.

For terrain, you could base it on a real location.  That's what Nintendo does.

All the main series player characters except the Gen V ones have changed appearance at least once, either for remakes or the third version.  For example:

My favorite, if you include the Orre games, would be Wes.  If not, probably the R/S version of Brendan (I don't like the green in the E version).

FunnyFurret : Voltorb are half a meter in diameter.  I don't know how they're mistaken for Poke Balls, but I don't think it would fool anyone who's actually looking.

I've been through the help center, and all I could find is the effects and reasons for a ban.  Besides the question in the thread title, I also can't find if there's any way for the ban to apply to the RGR chat box.  On Pokémon Emerald, there's been problems while I was on for two days.  Yesterday, it was slimeface1212 (who is actually already banned on the board) insulting and swearing at anyone who asked for help in the chat box instead of finding a walkthrough.  Today, it was hendolad doing the same thing, but without giving a reason.  I have a screenshot of the second time, although it only shows his last two comments.

There isn't.  If there are any hacks of a game in the RGR, you can see some of them by scrolling to the left on the game's page.  But for Red Rescue Team, it has "Top RGR Games" there instead.

I send a Porygon to find it and get it back.

You brought it back here?  Go hide it somewhere!

It's somewhere in the Internet, guarded by a Porygon.

tails the fox : B2W2 do connect to BW, but the Entralink doesn't work the same in B2W2.  I'm not entirely sure what the Entralink is, or how it would affect battling (I've only played up to Gen III, and mostly on Vizzed), but that's what Bulbapedia said.

I don't usually name my Pokémon.  I once named my Umbreon in XD "Werda", an archaic Mando'a word for "shadow".  Other than that, I usually just name any Lugia I get "XD001" (and, being slightly more creative, any Ho-oh "XD002").

The only good one I've found is this:
https://www.vizzed.com/play/pokemon-fuligin-gba-online-game-boy-advance-37307-game
I played it a while ago, but I remember it was very good, both as a Pokemon game and as a hack (I didn't see any glitches, which is impressive for a hack).

Or maybe Shedinja, those are useful.  Or a Lickitung.  They're my favorite Pokemon.

Sword legion : Ordona may be the ghost of Levias.  I've always seen him as a "fourth dragon", partly because he has part of the Song of the Hero, but also because he seems to have the same role for the sky as the other dragons do for their provinces.  Another thing I noticed is that Ordona was left out (maybe deliberately) when Lanayru was telling the story, and that Zelda only got three light arrows, despite getting light spheres from all four Light Spirits.  It's possible Ordona is less powerful because it's the ghost of a sky spirit living in a forest.

The Gerudo Desert isn't its own province, it's part of Lanayru (it was made clear in Skyward Sword; before there were any Gerudo, it was called the Lanayru Desert).  Snowpeak is a longer explanation: I once figured out the plate tectonics of Hyrule (I'll post it sometime soon), and Death Mountain is caused by a continental hot spot.  The one from OoT is beyond the edge of the map in TP (the reason the Hidden Village is so far from Death Mountain despite the "Old Kakarico" sign), and Snowpeak consists of the remains of dormant volcanoes in the mountain chain.  The yeti's house is probably built on the now-dormant Mt. Eldin/Crenel.  So Snowpeak would be part of the Eldin province.

orionfoxgibson : The AoL Shadow link is just a spell summoned to fight Link.  The FSA Shadow Links were summoned from the Dark Mirror.  The ALttP/FS Dark Links were probably Link's Dark World counterpart, who somehow managed to get the Four Sword.  I don't know about the OoT Dark Link.

I don't think that Ganondorf is Demise.  I think he (and Vaati, and Malladus, and Bellum) was just being forced into conflict with Link by Demise's curse.  I agree that the Light Spirits are the ghosts of the Dragons, but Valoo is actually a descendant of Volvagia.

marcushoward : Relicanth is based on the coelacanth, which is itself pretty ugly.

Compared to that, Relicanth isn't that ugly.

The "ugliest" Pokémon is a hard question for me, because a lot, like Relicanth, are made to look like something that's already ugly, and many that would normally be considered "ugly" are supposed to look funny, like .
