Yes, I made it with all my own screen shots and all my own maps images (taken from advance map, modified in mspaint when needed) most all of it is my original text...
it took quite awhile to make... (probably as long to make it as it took to make the 1.20 release of the hack) but it served its purpose... forcing me to play (and screenshot) every event... testing it and making sure there are no glitches... 

it was my way of doing a final playthough finding glitches before my final release.

it also gave me some time to add a few features like buriedalive and volt tackle... (which were not in the 1.20 release)

if your interested in how to make PDFs without buying an expensive Adobe software, I made the document in Word, and use PDF995 to print the file to pdf... PDF995 is a free virtual printer, you simply click print for anything and instead of choosing a real printer to print it to paper, you choose pdf995 (in you printer options) and it prints it to a file in a location you specify, you can make many professional looking documents without an adobe software... (although word is does not have all the functionality adobe pdf makers do)

are you asking permission to hack? If its what you wanna do... do it... who cares if others like it... 

personally I make hacks because I enjoy them, if others enjoy them, that's just a nice side effect... 


now if you are asking for help that's another story, we would probably need to know more about how you are wanting the game to play out and what you are going to do to it... storyline and all that good stuff... 

I am a logical thinker, so scripting is the easiest part of hacking for me... you just have to think logically how would you do something... its quite simple if you know all the commands...

there ya go... take those commands in any order and insert your own offsets and flags and other insertabels and make yourself a script...

ASM coding on the other hand is quite a bit more complicated... that is some real hard work

I personally find mapping and storyboarding the hardest part of hacking... that really taps into your creative bone... (mapping is not hard, mapping well is hard) if you are creative this stuff is easy, if your are logical, the coding and altering of the game is easy...

as mentioned above Pokecommunity is a great place to learn... I learned a lot from those guys and when I need help I definitely go there first. 

it would require ASM editing... you cannot do it with simple scripting...

how I did it... was set a flag when the player chose your new destination, hopped on the boat and sailed to one island... and as soon as yougot there have a map script check for that flag, if the flag was set, warp you immediatly to the new island dock (the 2 docks should look the same) and clear the flag... 

it will have a fadeout when the person gets to their destination... but its the best I could do (since i dont knwo asm yet)

lol UNlz does not "put in pokemon" it changes graphics... its a graphics editor ONLY...

if you cahnged the likitung front sprite to the new dragonong front sprite they must be the same size (exactly) or it will look weird (offset in 8x8 glock chunks) 

now your likitung looks like dragonong if you did it right... but it is still likitung... you have ALOT of data to change if you want to actually change the pokemon... (front sprite, back sprite, shiny... pokedex entry other stats (atk, def and whatnot) moveset and the lil sprite for your belt... )

you got a lot of research to do my friend

in Advance Map, when choosing your script editor... if you are usine either PKSV or XSE, when it asks you:
"Are offsets seperated from the ROM name by ":" or " " in the preferred script editor?"

the answer is "NO"

the story so far:

REGI WAR HACK (Elemental Conflict) working title (ruby hack,
regigigas on the front)
   a new island divided by war, there are 4 major parts to
the mainland. one part for each of the three evil teams
(rocket, magma, and aqua) and a 4th part in the middle where
most of the battling is happening.there are a few undisturbed
towns, your protagonist is living in one.
    One day, in our hreos town, many towns folk (including
your father) become ill, and the towns healer t so the
protagonist is voluntold to go get medicine from the nearest
hospital. (with some mentions of a "war" between the adult
folk)
    Before you can go for medicine you must get a Pokémon to
protect you, but noone in the town seems to have any spare
Pokémon, there is a man living in a cave toward the ocean just
outside of town, he has spare Pokémon, he just might give you
one if you ask nicely and tell him the situation... he is a
dragon trainer.
    When you make the short treck to the dragon masters cave,
he asks you a series of questions (about what you are going to
do with this Pokémon and how you are going to handle yourself
if you run into trouble and how you feel about the war outside
the town) depending on your answers you are given one of three
dragon Pokémon (dratini, bagon, or gible). with your new
partner in hand you head to the next town to get the medicine
from the hospital.
    Once you get to the next town you see how devestated it
is from all the war and battle between the 3 teams, after you
get to the hospital and place your order, you are attacked by
a team rocket member, defeat him and you can pick up your
order (maybe pay key item "medicine money" you got from your
hometown) after picking up your order you head out and are
attacked by a team aqua member before getting out of town...
defeat him and head on home to deliver the goods.
    once you get home you are told to go thank (or maybe
return your Pokémon to) the dragon master... he talks to you
about love and war (maybe mentioning that each team has a
legendary Pokémon (regi) and are abusing its power)  and tells
you that it is all trainers duty to stop injustice between
people and Pokémon. he lets you keep the dragon he gave you
and when you return home your father mentions "so you have to
leave on a Pokémon journey, noone has been on a journey since
the war started, good luck" and with that you are off...
    your goal is to go from town to town beating the evile
teams that have overthrown them... some are easier than
others... ultimately you will realize each team has 1 of the
regis (regirock, registeel, and regice) and are using it to
beat eachother and the rest of the world sensless(controlling
them with orbs)... you learn of a fourth all powerful regi and
set out on a quest to awaken regigigas...
    once you find and awaken regigigas, another trainer comes
in (giovanni) and captures him using his own creation, MewTwo.
now giovanni is on a quest to regain controll of team rocket
and take over the world.
    your new goal is to defeat all the teams, one by one and
take out giovanni... by defeating each team you destroy their
orb and have the chance to catch their regi... before
defeating team rocket, giovanni beats them and destroys their
orb, you catch their regi (the order is aqua, rocket, magma,
giovanni) but dont have access to beat giovanni until you get
all 3 regis.
    when you finally defeat giovanni, mewtwo leaves giovanni
and you can find him in a cave after the main gameplay.


this is mostly so we can all keep our idea straight but please feel free to read this thread and keep updated on the games progress... hope you all enjoy

There may be one issue you might run into...

If you have saved your game right in front of the statue in Pokémon mansion... and you update... you will have to leave the mansion and come back in it for the update to work... 

leaving a building causes the game to reset its ram so the stored info will draw from the Rom... 

or just don't save in the mansion before you update... either way works.

SuperCrash64 : you have it backwards bro... that spacebar raises the timer as it speeds up the entire game... people NOT using the spacebar will have LOWER times... 
now... if someone used the space bar to run in a straignt line they are not wasting any time... but if they use it to battle... they cannot be pusing buttons as fast as the game is running so they will likely wast seconds to minutes in just one battle... 

try recording yourself in super speed then playing it back at normal speed... you will notice large gaps where you should have pushed buttons... but the game was moving faster than you could keep up with... 

(vba records in gametime not real time. so if you record and use the spacebar you are speeding up the recording aswell so it plays back as if you did not use the spacebar)
now holding the spacebar AND reading a conversation is a real waste... if you try to read itll look like you spent 3 minutes reading a simple 2 line textbox... in gametime... 

I dont think mom money should count... but time on the trainer card Should... (only after pokedex and money of course) 

and not most time either... because you could just hold spacebar all night and crank up the time... id go with lowest time (person who used spacebar the least lol)... BUT it suppose its all up to the owner and however he wants to do it... 

that way if someone wants to catch all 251, max their money and start in the last week of the contest, they could still have a shot at winning if they do it fast enough.

or just have one massive tie

how are you guys maxing your money so quickly? i dont guess I ever tried to max my money...

earthwarrior : I don't know if I'm not understanding you or your not understanding me... but the 2 dogs not roaming ARE in events... I only need a screenshot of your starter so that I know which starter you used... I need screenshots of the mystical dog event (one on route 2 and the other in rock tunnel) because I need to make sure the dogs in those areas show correctly... so none of them are the roaming dog for that starter..

so just stand in front of a dog and take a screenshot...

similar to those images, but yours should only have 1 dog, not all 3... (those are old Alpha tests)

I just wanted to list the glitches that have been reported:

mew does not disappear when captured, only when defeated...

the mystical dogs do not disappear when captured and when you defeat one BOTH disappear.

both these glitches have been fixed for the final release... (I believe)
