I love all of those cartoons for very different reasons, but I think Simpsons is the best because it has a very particular quality that the other cartoons don't. It is a funny show, but it isn't afraid to take itself seriously. In American television, too many adult cartoons are strictly for comedy's sake, and seem to be hesitant to be serious or have a message. But Simpsons is funny, edgy, and heart warming. Not only that, but it doesn't rely on being crude to get a laugh, it also has a lot of innocent humor which is why I think people of all ages enjoy it. However, like I said before, even though The Simpsons is my favorite I enjoy all of those cartoons and I think they are all great. If I had to put them in order, it would go something like this: The Simpsons > King of the Hill > South Park > Furturama > American Dad > Family Guy Thank you for this thread! Interesting question! Before I state what I believe, I want to say that both sides of this debate have very valid reasons for feeling the way they do. I also want to say that nobody is PRO-abortion. Nobody likes abortion; what separates us is whether or not we believe it should be legal. I believe abortion should be legal for one major reason- no matter if abortion is legal or not, it will still happen. If a woman feels that strongly that they want to get rid of their baby, they aren't going to be stopped by the law. It is a majorly huge decision. And if a woman chooses to abort her child, I would want her to do it in a safe, sanitary, healthy environment where she cannot be harmed or damaged. (This is the very same reason I believe in legalizing prostitution, but that is a whole other subject) I completely understand those who disagree with abortion. I really do. To be perfectly honest, I am not sure I think it is the right thing to do either. But I still don't think my beliefs should damage the well-being of anyone. And if women are going to abort their child regardless of the law, I would rather lose one life than two. Another thing that many pro-lifers have told me is they are afraid women will use abortion as a form of birth control. I think it is sad that they think that. I mean, someone would have to be a little sick in the head to not have second-thoughts when making the choice to abort their child. I am sure they don't go out and get pregnant on purpose just because they know they can abort their child later. Someone who feels this way probably shouldn't be allowed to have a child in the first place. Anyways, that about sums up what I think. I could probably go on about the subject but I won't make my response any more long-winded than it already is. Bottom line, even though I kind of disagree with abortion I think it would be wrong to criminalize it. Thank you for bringing this subject up, I think it is an important issue to discuss! I respectfully disagree with believing in the bible. While I do believe there are stories in it that teach important morals, I am often concerned with the war and violence that seems to come from debates over it. It is all up for interpretation and cannot be ultimately understood the same way by anyone, which is why I don't think it should be taken so seriously. True, whether you believe in it or not, it is a very important book in the history of the human race, but I doubt a lot of the stories in it truly happened and am more inclined to believe they are made-up stories meant to teach lessons.
Moving on to your main question- do I believe in a God? I don't know. I am agnostic, so believe the possibility that a God (or Gods) could exist, but I truly don't think there is a way of anyone knowing for sure. Meaning, I also accept the possibility that there ISN'T a God. I adhere to this belief because I think everyone is entitled to believe what they want and I don't think anyone is completely wrong or right, so I try my best to keep an open mind. I am particularly interested in Religious Science, though (Not Scientology), and I often visit the church of Religious Science in my town. To sum it up, I suppose you could say I am still doing some soul-searching regarding my spirituality. Again, I respect your belief and thank you for bringing up this discussion. I have been indifferent to trolls for the most part, but I very much disapprove of people who claim to be "trolling" when really, they are bullying. It seems like they call it trolling just to diminish the importance of what they do, but I believe there is a big difference between being a troll and a bully. Trolls are just messing with you, they are kind of like annoying pranksters. But when you are belittling someone, purposely trying to hurt their feelings or break their spirit, I say that is some cold-hearted bullying. Believe it or not, people on the Internet are still people.
tl;dr- Trolls don't bother me very much, but I cannot stand bullies. ((Thank you for asking! Interesting topic!)) tl;dr- Trolls don't bother me very much, but I cannot stand bullies. ((Thank you for asking! Interesting topic!)) |

Hi everyone! My name is Krystianna (but you can call me xytha) and I am new here at vizzed. I came upon this site searching for a place to play all the games I once loved as a young child. I am an 18 year old girl and my hobbies include video games (obviously), drawing, painting, music, television, learning, and a lot more! I come from a small town in the state of California, USA. My favorite Pokémon is Psyduck. Anything else you want to know, just ask! I would love to make some friends here, as I can already tell I will be an active member of the site (I already love it!) Thank you very much! -xytha -xytha |
