For what system?  Is it just for a particular game?

That might happen from a corrupted save state file.  Also might happen if you have multiple windows user accounts who use the plugin.

If you look through your vizzed data dirs and delete any state files for the particular game while the plugin is closed, starting it up after could likely fix it.  Tired and don't want to detail how to do this.  Will talk to David and figure out what to do and maybe post some new FAQ entries or something.

Sounds like the installer file is corrupt.  Maybe it didn't finish downloading or something.  You could try redownloading and installing from that new file.

The note to uninstall first was just mentioned for safety due to it mattering for some users.  For most (maybe 90%+) it shouldn't matter.  Even for those where it did, I don't see how reinstalling would fix your controls.

For the GB systems, when you double click and get the configure controls window, does that let you set them all how you wish and appear correct there at least?

Not enough information.  For what systems do the controls not work?  Do they not work at all, or the just didn't save the configuration you had?

Shouldn't matter if you did an uninstall or upgrade, as long as you didn't tell the uninstaller that you don't plan to use the plugin in the future (in which case it deletes save files, config files, downloads).

The save data might just be in a different directory.  I can help you check if you msg me.

Probably just either server overload or internet connection issue.  Try reloading the game.  If you always get that error, let us know.

The error shows up because a download failed.  Could be from the server being overloaded maybe, or from your internet connection having issues.  If you get that, best to just reload the game.  If you always get it though, then let us know.

Never heard anyone report an issue like that.  Not sure what would be special about your computer where you get that problem and others don't.

You might try taking a screenshot through windows and posting it (can use print screen kb button or search google for directions if needed)

Sorry about that.  I actually need to research to understand the root cause of why it needs the installer at points other than install/upgrade.  The next release can hopefully work better and prevent that issue.

For now, your best bet is to just be able to respond to that prompt with a valid correct alternate path.  This means you have to know a directory (could be your Desktop even) that has the VizzedRGR installer msi file.  If you don't have this handy, you should goto the 1.63 download link and save it (rather than run it) to some folder.  Should fix your problem.

Hmmm.  That has me worried the installer code I wrote might load from a temporary directory and maybe the IE plugin didn't register correctly.  I'll look into that.  What OS do you use?  Did you install fresh or upgrade from an existing version?


For now,  I think this should fix it for you:

1) goto an administrator command prompt (or normal cmd prompt if WinXP).  to do this on vista or win7, right click the command prompt link and click run as administrator.  can find the link by clicking start and typing command.  Or for WinXP, I think it's in the accessories folder.

2) at the prompt, type the following cmd exactly (assumes you installed to default location tho): 

regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)VizzedVizzed Retro Game RoomVizzedRgrAx.ocx"

after it should give you a msgbox saying it succeeded.  Try the IE plugin now.

hmmm.  i don't see how save files would get erased and only way i can think of them to get trashed basically is to overwrite an existing save by pressing f2.

some save locations got changed for 1.63.  actually all did, in that each vizzed user (including guest) should have their own directory and the emuator folders are now inside of there.  beyond that though, some of the emu's were setup poorly before and i cleaned up the code to use better save locations & handle migrating old saves.  each emu folder should have 1 or 2 folders it uses for saves (the name varies depending on emu, so you might have to browse around).  some use 2 because they store native save memory saves and live snapshot saves (via f2/f4 keypress) in different dirs.

do you have multiple windows user accounts use the plugin?  that could be an issue.  i didn't have time to handle migrating old version files for multiple windows users.  it just does it for the windows user account that installs the plugin.  if this is the issue, i could talk you through manually doing it.

hmmm.  save states should work, but are local only.

that sound issue i'm not sure about.  could be an uncommon problem specific to your setup.  maybe david can look into if the sound normally works for that game.

Is it about an ini file it can't find?  There's an issue with some games (most should be fine) I forgot about that and can fix that for server side, but I need to wait until I can access FTP to change a file.  (early AM probably)

The double click no showing a menu is normal for mupen64plus as mentioned in last post.
