Windows ME is junk. Vista is not far. Ha ha

He is right tho, If it only slows down when you open the anti-virus I would look at that first. A lot of anti viruses are a computer hog. If you need to scan let it go on its own without using the computer, usually while your sleeping. I have Norton it is pretty much non-existent until it does a scan and it hogs 1-2gb of memory when its running.

Always do the basics also, a good Disk clean up, De-fragment, Spyware scan, Malware scan, and a Virus scan. That usually helps with a lot of speed issues with computers. 80% of the time.

Over clocking can be simple or hard. Depending on what your trying to do. A quick OC is to change the FSB (front side bus) in the bios menus, As said before a lot of stock motherboards for dell don't OC or don't like it at all. If you don't have proper cooling you can fry your CPU or fry your motherboards North and south bridges without proper cooling.

Do some research on your board make and model number and google it, I'm sure some people have either tried it already or got a confirmation from someone not too.

That lower ball joint and inner tie rod where a real pain, previous owner didn't take good care of this poor car. But now she rides like a dream Its a 96 Geo Metro 3cyl 5 speed, that gets 44-45mpg city and around 50-52 highway
