That's alright, I plan to keep coming in when I think of it. It would seem I didn't set up the auto-join properly after all, and as I said it would be due to my having set up the network improperly. I wasn't really sure what to put in when adding to the list.

A lot of what's popular (and what I have in mind really is the music my mom likes) doesn't even have great music, or even a good beat, in my humble little opinion.

Though I do admit there are some songs there aren't so bad sounding except that I can't help but listen to the lyrics, and if those are horrible I just can't listen. I wouldn't say that's a majority of what's on top 40 radio, though. Bad lyrics, yes, but songs that aren't so bad sounding, no.

Most Final Fantasty games have a love story in them, if not all (I won't say all because I haven't played every one of them). But yeah, VIII is definitely pretty heavily focused on that, but so was X and obviously X-2. They all are. Oops I said it. All the ones I've played are. Though some more than others.

That said, I don't it has much to do with that aspect of the game. I just love the story outside of that, and the characters too. And the amount a game is worth isn't directly correlated to how awesome it is, just how popular. And popularity and awesomeness don't exactly go hand in hand. Though they do quite often.

I need to stop contradicting myself so much when trying to make points.

Final Fantasy VII holds a special place in my heart as being the first one I played through completely (and I'm not saying it's bad in any form, it's one of my favorite games). But I was very disappointed in the ending, to be honest, so I never was as impressed as I have been with others.

The Mayan calendar ends on my brother's birthday. That doesn't really relate to anything here, I just thought I'd add that.

I think this thought that it's a prediction of the end of the world is bull. I'm surprised they went as far as they did.

Sometimes I wish I had been born past the point of all the apocalypse predictions. But I guess they're an ever-growing sort. And with my luck I would have been born then just to find out that that is when the world ends. Right when everyone quits expecting it.

I agree that most newer music is pretty iffy. Especially the majority of what's widely popular. That's been the case for far too long now.

I won't ask what you dislike about the band whose name is apparently cursed, because you're free to dislike anything for any reason the same as you are to like something. I learned long ago to avoid discussions on whether bands suck or not haha.

Playing them is definitely not an art form, yeah.

It's just sitting on your arse and being entertained. Just like reading a book isn't art nor looking at paintings nor watching movies.

Congrats on yours, though! I remember I got lucky with mine, someone traded a Wii in while I was working at GameStop.

I'm out of date on the Wii games, unfortunately. My mind is still thrusting out Twilight Princess and WarioWare Smooth moves and such. The newest Wii game I bought was Dragon Quest Swords.

Aha, thank you. I believe I have it set up properly now, though I won't know for sure until the next time I open up XChat. If it doesn't work the only issue would be that I didn't properly set up the connection to the server. Only time shall tell!

I really doubt that it causes any sort of increase in violence. It's much more of an outlet for frustrations than anything else. Though I have to admit Rgturner makes a good point in that it can affect a young person in this manner. Great, now I'm conflicted.

Even with that, I think the whole video game violence leads to real violence thing is way overblown. Most of the people they say where influenced to do whatever violent thing they did because they played some war game or something more akin to Grand Theft Auto, it's just looking for an easy target to blame. The blame shouldn't go to our entertainment, it should be the values and examples people are setting for others out in the real world, real life.

I honestly don't see how a person could think they aren't, unless they've just never played anything. Or perhaps if they've only played really really poor games.

There's a lot of thought and effort in most games, and many are highly artistic even thanks to just the art itself. The stories are often engrossing, the gameplay even moreso... yes, it's quite artistic.

I'm all about the Firefox. I've liked others, just not IE. Oh no, never IE. I want to just uninstall it but just today I came across an issue of something I was trying to use not working then part of the issue was that I hadn't updated IE ever and it needed to be at least IE 5. What the hell is that about, anyway? It wasn't like the program used IE to function. Stupid Microsoft. *shakes a fist*

I'm done now. Anyway, I like Firefox but might be open to checking out this Google Chrome I hear of. This is actually the first I've heard of it.

Hrm, this makes me sad because it makes me realize that I've forgotten everything I used to know about XChat.

I swear I was pretty good with it before. It's as though I'm just now back to having internet after nine months without it. Oh wait, that is the case.

I'll join up once I remember how to work my favorite IRC program. >.<

Joining has been no problem but I just need to refigure the way to join automatically like I have set up for all the other servers and channels I frequent.

I guess perhaps I should have mentioned to start with that I'm in a relationship already myself. ;P

I'm actually more into video games than my boyfriend is I think.
