Hi, I've basically just used this site for work since I wrote the main Vizzed RGR Plugin for it for Davideo7. I'm struggling for money and looking to start doing computer support over the internet. So far though I've only got one customer and it was a local one not over the internet. You could confirm with David I'm the guy who wrote the main Vizzed RGR Plugin and am trustworthy to let access your computer remotely. For the first few people I help I will do it for free. I need to tune my software to be ready for official launch and get familiar with assorted real world computer setups and possible issues to expect and plan for. If the person has Paypal and feels incline to donate, it's an option, but not necessary. You don't even have to tell me if you have a Paypal. Let me know if you have anything in particular you need help with. Regardless I could review your system and do a tune up + offer recommendations. I'll ask you some assorted questions to help me better understand what people would like help with. I'll be continuing to research more ways to tune computer performance and can keep in touch possibly doing a 2nd pass in the near future. My remote support software is super easy to install and use. If you like what I did, maybe you could leave a Yelp review as I currently have 0. If anyone wants help let me know on here and I'll msg you a URL to create a new support case. Hey everyone, Actually my first time posting on here related to something other than the game plugin. Not sure where to turn and this actually seems like a good place possibly. I'm going through a pretty extreme crisis and so wish I knew what direction to go. I'm a mess and so need to heal. Problem is my life situation is pretty bad for that. I'm basically always stuck at home with no car, have severe fatigue daily due to health issues, have like no money, and have the only thing that sounds good when I get too tired to work stress me out to the extreme. Basically I worry about possible unknown consequences to lustfulness / thinking about sex. I could stop that completely if implications were such that it was clearly the right thing, but seriously I have like nothing else that sounds good right now. I could take up exercise, but that wouldn't use up that much time. I'm really confused the right way to look at life. I worry about possible evil forces I don't understand or even just unknown consequences of my issues on a spiritual level. I've been doing programming work to make money from small jobs I find on the internet. I deal with so much fatigue that it's hard though and have a situation where I can't understand how that would be the best way to make money. It sure seems like I could help a LOT of people by contributing intellectual concept type information toward that end. Not sure who would be best to work with. If people on here are interested I suppose we could even start some organization for that purpose. If I (or a group of people wanting to do good) got together and got the ball rolling, it seems like I could likely get money (or desired ends for lifestyle improvement to heal) donated or lent to me. I'm open minded, but the way I see things is that clearly if I got healthy (which seems easy with lifestyle change) I would do really well with business where I could pay back lent money with a lot of interest even. Given that situation, does it make sense for me to focus on doing programming work with my time? Seems to me (especially considering could pay back donated/lent money later) that it would be objectively bad to do programming work because it would take time away from helping others. At the same time I can worry about if there are just implications I don't understand related to me being such a mess and being given money. I especially worry about that in relation to sexuality. No way to understand how the internet in my reality manifests in such an awful unbelievable way with porn. Also I worry about my lust, although I'm totally honest and would be open to considering accepting donated/lent money that had lifestyle (including even thoughts) requirements I would have to adhere to. Thanks for reading. Very curious to get input and hear if anyone is interested in working together over the internet. -Tom Hey everyone, Actually my first time posting on here related to something other than the game plugin. tRIUNE : I tried reproducing the lag problem you reported with FCEUX, but was unable to, even on my Windows XP virtual machine. Going to need more info if I'm to fix it. Does the lag problem happen on all games? How intense or subtle is it? If you restart your PC, don't have anything else running, and play in that scenario does it lag? In all browsers? So you and rcarter2 had that problem? That's two users out of how many? tRIUNE : I tried reproducing the lag problem you reported with FCEUX, but was unable to, even on my Windows XP virtual machine. soxfan849 : Np, just send me a msg whenever it feels right. I don't know any specific sites to recommend for learning that stuff. Should be really easy to search Google for some. A quick search led me to these URL's which you might find useful. Python: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/5-websites-learn-python-programming/ PHP: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2228013/which-is-the-best-site-for-learning-more-on-php MySql: http://www.frihost.com/forums/vt-103008.html What I remember with me though learning programming was doing too much on my own and having learning certain concepts take a long time to grasp. If you get started learning and run into any stuff where it's confusing and you're not getting it, I would be totaly happy to see if I can answer questions to speed you along. Same goes with if you run into challenges setting up development or server software. I assume you use Windows? What version? Also not sure how much you care about setting up a local webserver + mysql environment. Maybe you have a webhost you planned to use for all your development and testing. You could setup a local environment where you can learn without any need for buying webhosting though. I'm most familiar with Microsoft's IIS webserver, which may or may not be available for your version of Windows. I would recommend doing a google search for "IIS install windows If IIS isn't supported on your version of Windows, I'm not sure what your best option would be. Might be to use a Windows version of the Apache webserver. I think these would be the links you would want for downloading Python and MySql for Windows: MySql: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/ Python: http://www.activestate.com/activepython/downloads soxfan849 : Np, just send me a msg whenever it feels right. I got a $20 paypal from someone, I'm guess that's you? Very appreciative of the borrowing money. Anyways, David was able to pay me $50 last night, so I just paypal'd the $20 back to whoever it was that sent it. I got a $20 paypal from someone, I'm guess that's you? JigSaw : Like I said (and David has expressed the same concerns as well to me), I worry a lot about requiring any fees causing legal issues for David. Things are already totally in a scary grey zone in that regard that I'm not sure what to think about. At least it's a cool style reporting on the site total costs involved for the site + total donations. As long as nobody is profiting much from the site, it seems maybe a radically lower risk catagory to be in than actually requiring payments and making a lot of money. tRIUNE : Looks like you fall into that catagory to with JigSaw and David where it's cool you invested significant personal income... impressive. No problem if you can't afford it. Like I mentioned in this thread though, I wasn't even looking for donations (though I will accept them)... just a small loan (even $5 would help my day significantly) where I'll pay back a lot of interest very shortly (should be less than a week).... so it's a chance to make money + help me out. tRIUNE : Looks like you fall into that catagory to with JigSaw and David where it's cool you invested significant personal income... impressive. JigSaw : I hear ya. At least the development can be fun to, but it can also be tedious and boring at times. I'm just in a fragile place right now where too dang irritable and to come on here saying basically "i wrote you the plugin you play games on, don't have money for groceries, borrowing even $10 would help me out a lot, I can pay back very soon in addition to whatever 20+% interest you want, and get like nobody showing interest.... pisses me off So nice of soxfan849 to offer to donate... maybe will luck out and he didn't leave for work yet. Kind of funny and sad, but getting an energy drink or two actually does help my day out a lot. At least though $10 is enough for a few, so I can make a walk to the grocery store more worth while. Totally understand though related to people that just don't have money. No hard feelings there. In your case especially hearing you donated as much as you did in the past, that really amazes me. I lost my passion for video games years ago, but it's still cool seeing a lot of guys like you on here that are passionate in that area. Especially like you and David that actually invested a lot of personal income into the project/site. As for charging though, that sounds risky due to the nature of the site. At least with most the games being so old, hopefully nobody cares about the related copyright issues (not even sure how they work w/ really old games). If money starts being charged tho, that seems like it could change things and maybe cause issues for David and the site. JigSaw : I hear ya. soxfan849: Very much appreciated, thank you. Even $5 would help my day out a lot. Would be happy to pay back soon, but if you rather, no problem w/ helping guide you related to learning programming. My paypal email is: tomwg123@gmail.com I'm on like every instant messenger service as tomgconsulting, except Yahoo is tomgconsulting123. That's amazing you donated that much, wow. Yea, this kinda upsets me and puts me in a bad mood. I have serious chronic fatigue issues and have a hard time accomplishing much without caffiene. Offered to pay someone back short term more than they lend me, yet couldn't even get $2 which woudl be enough for an energy drink? Wtf... Pisses me off and makes me want to never do anything on this project again. That's amazing you donated that much, wow. Yea, this kinda upsets me and puts me in a bad mood.
