Zylo is right. With the increased cost to make games, no one is taking any risks and trying anything new. Although there are sitll a few developers who do.

I think the beatles are a little overrated, although they did know how to write some catchy songs.

I kinda of know what you are saying. I got good really fast. Now I am just stuck in one spot and I can't seem to go anywhere... I think I'm going to take some classes and learn music theory, that will help me improve alot.

Has anyone here listened to the band Nevermore before?
I just recently got into them and they are quickly becoming a favorite. They take death metalish music but don't incorporate the vocals found in death metal. Think really really really heavy power metal. Their lead guitarist Jeff Loomis, is by far, one of the best in the business. I can't even imagine how he comes up with some of his riffs. I've seen a couple videos of them live and It's jaw dropping how he manages to play every single not perfectly. Loomis even tried out for Megadeth at the age of 16 and would have gotten the position if he wasn't so young. Their vocalist is somewhat hard to get used to as you wouldn't expect that kind of singing with that kind of music. However, once you listen to them for a bit it's hard to imagine them without his vocal stylings.

Their newest album "This Godless Endeavor" was just released this summer. It is a good place to start if you want to get into this band. I would recommend checking out the songs; The Riverdragon Has Come, Enemies of Reality, Born, and Sentient 6 to get a good idea of their sound.

I play guitar...alot.

My setup is:
100 Watt Peavy Supreme Head
4X12 Speaker Cab, Not sure what kind of speakers are in it though...
Les Paul ripoff
Crybaby Wah Pedal
DOD Death Metal Distortion Pedal
Digitech Multi-Effect Processor (I use this mainly for chorus/delay stuff)

I also have a s*** acoustic guitar. I will probably get a new one soon. I also hope to get a new guitar because my amp is awesome but my guitar is kinda meh.

I don't know how I would rate my playing.. maybe a 6?
Zylo how would YOU rate my playing, you have heard my play countless times.

Yeah the website looks pretty crappy, but they will host our music for free so i guess its fair... The text is probably a little messed up but i don't care. The mp3's should work now. I think they have to go through a review process with each song we submit to make sure it isnt violating any copyright laws.

Maybe i will quit being stingy and pay the 10 bucks a month for a better site layout.

www.soundclick.com/icemachine

It isn't finished yet and we havent recorded any music as of yet... but i put some recordings i did before i joined ice machine on that site. So check em out.

I played all the instruments and do the vocals on these tracks.

Oh oh, the egyptian death metal song has some pretty shredtacular solo's on it so if you wanna hear my skillz listen to that one. These were recorded about 7 months ago so if you take what you hear times like 5 that is my current level of playing ability.

If anyone wants to know how i record i would be happy to explain.
