I think they set the bar pretty high with The Dark Knight. Maybe just a little bit too high. I really don't think they will be able to top that, and something tells me they won't try to. I plan to go see Dark Knight Rises with some friends, and we are going to try and not compare it to Dark Knight, because we know we will be disappointed if we do. I am already a little disappointed that they chose Bane, a minor baddie in the Batman gallery that played the role of henchman more than he did main antagonist, as the primary villain in this movie. I got somewhat excited back when they were kicking around the name 'Johnny Depp' in association with the third Batman film. I would have loved to see him portray The Riddler! I have no doubt he would have done a much better job than Jim Carrey. I think they set the bar pretty high with The Dark Knight. Maybe just a little bit too high. I sat down a few nights ago and watched both Sherlock Holmes and it's sequel, Game of Shadows. I have always been a huge fan of the Sherlock character and I think Robert Downey, Jr has done an excellent job portraying that famous detective. Although, I have to wonder why Downey keeps choosing to portray character which have some form of substance addiction. I know he has a considerable amount of experience with that malady, but I fear he might get himself typecast if he keeps it up... I would have to go with a three way tie between the Lion King, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I'm actually not sure if Wonka is considered a musical, but there is plenty of singing in it, so I consider it one! I actually just went and saw Brave with a bunch of friends a few weeks ago. I had high expectations, because Pixar is usually releases very good movies. Sadly, I wasn't impressed with this one. I hate to say it, but I think Pixar finally made a flop. I actually just went and saw Brave with a bunch of friends a few weeks ago. Definitely the Puss n Boots character. Antonio Banderas did an amazing job on that character, and I like the fact that he was not afraid to poke fun at himself a little bit with the whole Zorro lampoon. Last year, I had the misfortune of passing a kidney stone the size of a small pebble. That may sound small, but it felt like I was trying to force a baseball through a mail slot. I can only remember being in that much pain once before in my life, and that was when I had an abscess tooth that got so bad that I actually passed out from the pain! Even the kidney stone wasn't able to make me pass out. Last year, I had the misfortune of passing a kidney stone the size of a small pebble. I try to get out and walk a few miles at least two or three times a week. I also do a considerable amount of walking at work, though I am not sure if that counts. A part of me would love to take a trip into space, another part of me tell the first part to shut and be happy that we have an endless supply of air to breath and something solid on which to stand. In all honesty, I think I would only want to go into space if I had the ability to travel far beyond our moon. Otherwise, I would just be seeing things the dozens of other people may or may not have seen (still not convinced we ever actually stepped on the moon, but I am open to the idea.) I would rather go beyond our own solar system and see what lies out in the great unknown. Hopefully, it would be something more to the tune of 2001: A Space Odyssey and less like Aliens or Independence Day. Oddly enough, I have played Gradius 3, but it isn't my favorite game unfortunately. That distinction belongs to Xenogears. The next person's favorite game just has to be Hello Kitty: Island Adventure. I know it! Oddly enough, I have played Gradius 3, but it isn't my favorite game unfortunately. The letter 'I', eh? That would be a tough one... I don't think there are many Pokémon that have names beginning with I.... Umm.... the only one that comes to mind is Ivysaur, so I'll go with that as my answer! EDIT: WHOOPS! Someone beat me to the punch. I'll just change my answer to ELECTRODE then. That way, E is the next letter no matter how you look at it. ![]() The letter 'I', eh? That would be a tough one... I don't think there are many Pokémon that have names beginning with I.... My favorite Mega Man game has to be Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo. It wasn't the first game I had played in the franchise, but it was the one I played the most. I loved the power ups and the style in which the Robot Master were done. Plus, in the first X game at least, Sigma was a breath of fresh air after years of Doctor Wily. Granted, he got just as annoying after a few games, but for a single game he was new and sort of fresh. Also, in what other Mega Man can you shoot of freaking HADOKEN?? That's right, there isn't another one! My favorite Mega Man game has to be Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo. While the Genesis had marginally better graphics, the Super Nintendo had vastly superior games. That makes all the difference, and proves a point that I have been a numerous occasions that the quality of game play is more important than the polish of the graphics. There are many old Super Nintendo games that I would rather play over some of the newer games, given the choice. There have been times when my friends are playing the latest Call of Duty or Halo, I will sit there playing Chrono Trigger on my DS, completely ignoring anything there are doing in their graphically more appealing video game. So, yea, I think I will choose the Super Nintendo. It was better by far when compared to the Genesis. While the Genesis had marginally better graphics, the Super Nintendo had vastly superior games. I usually end up being very good at any puzzle game or Role playing Game. On the first play through, that is. There are many times where I will go back to play a game I have already beaten and I will have no end of troubles, especially with bosses in RPGs. A great example is the final battle against Sin from Final Fantasy X. I beat him no problem the very first time I played that game, way back when it first came out. Ever since then, I have never been able to get passed the dang thing a second time. It is so frustrating sometimes! I usually end up being very good at any puzzle game or Role playing Game. I have never had an encounter with the supernatural and, in fact, I do not believe there is any such thing as ghosts or other supernatural forces. I believe the mind is a powerful and complex tool which is capable of making us think we saw or heard or experienced something abnormal. In truth, it is just typical human paranoia rearing it's ugly head, or the desire many have to believe that there is a deeper mystery to this world we live in than there actually is. I do not make this denouncement lightly. I have, on a number of occasions, been in the room when others have had so called encounters with the supernatural. Yet, despite their repeated attempts to convince me that they saw a ghost or other such entity, I have never in my life seen what they saw, although I know by the look in their eyes that they believe that saw something. In fact, on one occasion in particular, I was helping a couple friends look at apartments when they both claimed that they saw a ghost. Later on, I questioned each friend separately, asking them to describe the ghost. They both gave completely different accounts of what they had seen. This confirmed for me that supernatural encounters all happen in one's mind and are nothing more than a person's imagination feeding off their fears or desires. While I do not consider myself to be afraid of death, per se, I certainly am not looking forward to it. Of course, I don't think anyone truly looks forward to dying, unless they have simply given up on life that much, which would be rather sad. Truthfully, there is a part of me, tucked way back in the back of my subconscious, which is actually intrigued by the concept of death and what will happen once I die. Do I simply cease to exist? Will I ascend to some higher plane? Is reincarnation something that can occur? There is a great deal of mystery surrounding death, most of which will likely never have any light shed upon it. Perhaps that is for the best. I firmly believe that there are some things we, as human beings, are not meant to ever understand. I have a working theory which I had developed for a fanfic I was going to write, but never got around to. Rare Candy is essentially a form poke steroids for Pokemon that boosts their overall performance in battles, much like human growth hormones work for athletes in the real world. I applied this same theory to the items such as Carbos and Protein. The main difference is that these items only target a specific aspect of a Pokemon's performance, where the Rare Candy would be a total performance enhancement. Of course, this is all a well guarded secret by the company that makes these dubious items. They have concocted a massive lie so that their items will remain legal for trainers to use, all the while a far darker purpose lies beneath the creation of these items. But that is getting into the plot and that is off topic to this discussion. LOL I have a working theory which I had developed for a fanfic I was going to write, but never got around to. Z would be for Zombieland, a flick about the zombie apololypse and starring Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone. It was Bill Murray, however, who stole the show, portraying himself in some of the most humorous scenes of the movie.
