SacraRain That's actually what my friend (who asked me to make this game) wanted it to look like. He did most of the drawing of the character and I just added a few details on my computer.

iN008 I like the edit you did with the gun and I do agree that it looks a lot better. I'll definitely keep in mind the shading of sprites. I suppose 16 bit sprites also include shading and since I'm going for an 8bit/16bit style, I could probably add that bit of detail.

This is my first time summoning so I apologies if it didn't work. Anyways thanks for the tips so far. I'll keep them in mind next time I do a sprite.

I like to use Game Maker for making games. It's kind of pricy but you can get a lite edition which has plenty of features. It also takes some time to make a really good game, but it's worth it. Plus you can find plenty of Game Maker tutorials on You Tube which can give you a good jump start.
