Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

Not as good as Brawl, but amazing!
Let me just get this out of the way. Brawl is better in a fun factor point of view, this is better for competitive. I like Brawl more because of that.

Graphics: 10
We're starting to move games onto the New 3DS, so this is late 3DS era. That means that you'll see the best graphics that the 3DS has to offer. All characters are really fleshed out, they look good and the stages fit with their theme well.

Sound: 10
Take all of your favorite game tracks, remix some, make a compilation of songs from some and make game specific ones. This has an amazing selection of songs that fit outstandingly well with the stage.

Addictiveness: 10
Whatever you want to play, casual, competitive or Fox only, no items, Final Destination, you'll have fun. That is if you're not playing against For Glory spammers who think they're good and call you a hacker if you win. Or if you're playing against high level CPU with reactions that you can't do with a 3DS. Other than those minor issues, it's so addicting that it may be unhealthy.

Story: 2
Classic mode is the story, it's "Fight other characters until you get to Master Hand" so yeah. Not very good in the story department. Who cares though? it's a fighting game.

Depth: 9
It has 51 characters, including the endless amounts of 3 Mii Fighter types. 3 custom moves per special move on each character, Mii fighter costumes, 4 DLC characters, many DLC Mii costumes, 34 stages, 2 DLC stages (also more to come with the Cloud Strife announcement) 2 pages of options, many items, a final Smash each, Smash Run, All-star mode, training, Home-run contest, 6 Fighting Mii Team based gamemodes, For Glory, For Fun, Spectator mode where you can bet on a match, and more. It has a great mode called Smash Run which was made specifically for customs and the 3DS. I love Smash Run. Edit- Bayonetta and Corrin (why another Fire Emblem character?) are in Smash.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

May the stars shine down on you
Super mario galaxy 2 is definitely 1 of my favorite games to play and replay and for good reasons. Mario 64 set the standards for 3D platformers however the Galaxy games went far beyond, redefining what a good 3D platformer should be. Does it live up to those standards? I'll come back to that question later but for now, into the review.

Graphics: 9
The Wii didn't have the greatest of graphics since it had to focus on other areas such as motion controls. Therefore it isn't in HD but that isn't a problem because that won't stop games from looking beautiful. Especially for the Wii. This proves that you don't have to be HD to look good, just bright and colourful.

Sound 9:
The music for this is gorgeous, which isn't a surprise, Nintendo have many well composed music tracks. Take the remix for Thwomp fortress or the bowser boss stages, the intro music. everything just fits well with the place.

Addictiveness: 10
This game is so addictive(even if you suck like me and die a lot) that it was hard not to binge play this game, the gameplay has been refined, the motion controlled ball sections are fun(plus if you go fast you roll like sonic), the stages are fun, the powerups are good, Yoshi is in it with Super Mario world like power ups(EG: Flying)and the glitches are hilarious.

Story: 7
Take the usual"Bowser steals Peach, Mario rescues her" and place it in space. Add Bowsers universe domination plan, put a crew of Lumas helping Mario stop Bowser, put in a young Luma lost that gives Mario a spin power and you get a good story in Mario standards. The story is, Bowser steals all Grand stars and Power stars in the universe with Bowser JR and his minions, kidnap Peach on a festival as a giant and then Mario sets out on and out of this world adventure... I'm sorry.

Depth: 8
In this game, you can collect 242 stars, 7 worlds, 49 galaxies, 3 Yoshi powerups, 8 powerups for Mario(time limited, infinite and dri... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic Generations

Sonics best game.
Sonic generations for the PC is a great game especially since I have finally got it running at 60 FPS, it's sonic teams masterpiece and they should have stuck with the formula as the recent games suck a lot. More than sonic 06 suck. Lets get into the review.

Graphics:9
This game looks amazing on PC, especially for 2011, they seemed to have given more PC support as it looks good while running smoothly. It shows that graphics don't need to be realistic to be good. It just needs to be vibrant and colourful... and 128 bit.

Sound:8
The game doesn't just look amazing, it sounds gorgeous. They took the sound effects from genesis games and refined it, took music and gave it a retro remix and gave old songs a modern remix as well as upgrading the sound from other games. The voice acting is mediocre and that's what pulls the sound to 8.

Addictiveness:10
After finishing this game, you get the super sonic ability and it is amazing, that alone will make you want to replay stages but also the stages are all fun and some other paths, making you want to take them and you get rewarded by being faster and getting red star rings. Also there are a ton of mods to try, they're fun. Did I mention the 90 sub missions, they're also fun, the glitches also make you want to play more.

Story:4
This is the thing all sonic games don't have, a good story but who cares as it's a platformer. Do you see mario getting good stories? No. I'll tell you it anyway. Eggman finds a baby form of a time eater thing and uses it to trap all sonics' friends. He wants to erase his past defeats which brings classic sonic and tails into this as well as modern sonic and his friends as sonic went after it. They don't know it's eggman though. both sonics rush through the stages to restore them. Meanwhile eggman finds his past self, Dr. Robotnik and they team up.

This game has loads of different paths, sub levels, achievments, mods,... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic Adventure DX: Director\'s Cut
04-03-15 01:47 PM
No Space Fight!
Sonic has had a history for being in notoriously bad games(Sonic 06, sonic boom: rise of lyric) but this was when Sega made very fun Sonic games.

Graphics:8
This game may be the Directors Cut of Sonic Adventure but I can't see any graphical changes from Dreamcast to PC. The Dreamcast graphics were great however so I'll admit they do hold up well even though this was made in 2003(DX not original).

Sound:8
The music is nice- especially speed highway with its upbeat music that slipped into sonic generations- but most are not too memorable. My real complaint is the mediocre voice acting. It won't line up with mouth movement either.

Addictiveness:9
Most of the game is fun provided that the buttons respond or I don't do impossible bosses as well as not occasionally clipping through the floor when trying to run near a wall. Also, 3 words. Big the Cat. Sega messed up big(the cat) time by adding this monstrosity. At least every other character was fun, especially E102 Gamma.

Story:6
It's a platformer, what do you expect, a story that is awesome. The story is with sonic and tails you have to get the 7 chaos emeralds to stop Eggman and this water thing called Chaos taking over the world. Sonic's conclusion is him confronting eggman's base and destroying it. For tails you stop eggman from blowing up station square. For Knuckles you are trying to find pieces of the master emerald after chaos destroys it. For Amy you try getting away from a robot called Zero while protecting a bird who gets reunited with its family at the end. Big's is fishing for Froggy, his friend frog who has the tail of chaos and is wanted by eggaman. Gamma's story is that he is a robot working for Eggman that was told with his robot companions to try and get froggy which he/she/it finds. Gamma then is in charge of holding Amy in prison where he gets feelings from Amy and lets her go, fights sonic, gets stopped by Amy and flies off to confront an... Read the rest of this Review
Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, The

Best Game. What else is there to be said
This game is just... Beautiful. I just can't get enough of it. How does one simply create such art. Anyone who pirates this should be shamed. It's well worth $20.

Lets get on with the review.

As you can see I praise this game a lot. it is amazing and has loads of references. This game is out on Playstation and computer.

Graphics:10
You may think that that was a strange choice as it's 2D however this game looks great. It wouldn't of worked in 3D, like Bubsy games(why was bubsy 3D a thing?) and the animations are great. It runs a solid 60 FPS and the art style is amazing. Just seeing Isaac's drawings just in the cut-scenes(did I mention the cut-scenes are good) is just a bit satisfying in a way I can't explain.

Sound:10
I really love the music and sound effects in this game. They set the scene well. 1 minute you are in the basement with not that intense music and the next you're in the catacombs with eerie music that'll give children nightmares.

Addictiveness:10
This game has replayability value like no other, you will spend ages trying to get all the items, characters, bosses, places, each time you'll have fun because of the amount of seeds in the game and special seeds to mess around with.

Story:5
It's a take on a biblical story and I'm atheist so I'm not particularly interested but the theme of family betrayal is always interesting. Isaac's mum hears god saying Isaac is evil. Isaac's mother first takes all things away from him hears god again, locks him in his room and eventually she's told to kill Isaac. Isaac finds a trap door and your adventure starts.

Depth:10
This game has so many things in such a small amount of data that it's unreal. for starters, what looks like 500 items to unlock and millions upon millions of seeds and special seeds to mess around with. You've also got like, what, 10 characters that you unlock by doing objectives such as doing 3 deals wit... Read the rest of this Review
