Pokemon Master Version

Pokemon Master version review by 98Gamingstar
I'm going to be writing a game review for a pokemon fire red hack called pokemon master version. Now this hack does not have a lot to offer (Aside from catching really good level 1 pokemon in the beginning) In this review I'm going to be talking about all the areas of the game and what this hack has to offer. Enjoy!

-Graphics : 5.0-
The graphics have not really been changed and the parts that have been changed (Example : The hill area in pallet town) were obviously rushed, and no thought was put into it whatsoever. Maybe the person that made this hack COULD have put in new areas, new buildings and new maps. I'm giving the graphics a 5 because I feel as though more could have been done to them but the edited parts still looked pretty neat.

-Sound : 5.0-
There is not much to say about the sound due to the fact that it sounds the same as the fire red soundtrack. Maybe some remixed sounds for the pokemon crys would have been nice. I gave the music a 5 because like I said before, the sound is exactly the same as the fire red soundtrack. If you make a hack you have to consider the sound as well.

-Addictiveness : 1.0-
I know I'm being a little harsh but to be honest this is a game were I'm likely to never come back to it. There are a few reasons for this, the first reason is that I can't stand how you can just get your perfect team at the beginning of the game. I know they are level one but that does not make a difference. The other reason is that, if I wanted to play this again, I could just play fire red since both of them are near enough identical to one another. If you make a hack one of the key things to remember is to make it stand out from the crowd somehow! I know there is a pokemon ROM contest going on at the month and I can honestly say, I don't think this game is not going to even make it to the top 30.
I rated this game a 1.0 because thats how I truly feel about this game

Sonic and Knuckles & Sonic 3

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles review by 98Gamingstar
Today I am going to be reviewing one of my most favourite Sonic games of all time! Ever since I first played it I loved it. I'm only 11 so I did not get the chance to play it when it originally came out on the SEGA genesis / mega drive. However, a few months ago I was very bored and I was looking through the games for the genesis. After a while of wondering what to pick / play I chose this. I started to play it and I loved it. This review is hopefully not going to be to long but I am going to try and explain why I like this game in as much detail as I can.

-Graphics-
This graphics for this game are pretty much what I would expect to see in a classic Sonic game. Nothing has to much detail like in some of the later games. Perhaps SEGA should have made more like this. Anyway, it's nice to see some good 2D graphics for a change. I'm not saying I hate other 2D graphics, they just going be improved on. This on the other hand have sprites that are perfect. The background / scenery for each stage / level is also wonderful. If SEGA can ever be bothered to make this into a 3D game, I think it would look beautiful.

-Sound-
This sound in this game is some of the best sound in a Sonic game. I really like the way everything sounds. The music fits well with the levels and you can go into relaxing mode whenever you play it. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the music for the special stages as it is REALLY catchy and fits well. Those opening beats for it are just some of the best sounds for a Sonic game. The music for the file select is also really good and relaxing and is just what you need before you start the game. The sound for jumping and stuff also sound pretty neat and fit in with the whole cartoon theme nicely.

-Addictiveness-
This game is one of the most addicting games I've ever played in my entire life. I don't know what about it makes it so addicting. It just is such a wonderful game you just also wonder what will happen next, what the next boss f... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic the Hedgehog - Omochao Edition

Sonic The hedgehog : Omochao edition by 98Gamingstar
This is one of the many hacks for Sonic the hedgehog for the genesis. But....when hacks go wrong they can lead to things like this. This is a game which I would not expect most people to have completed. In this review I'm going to discuss how bad and stupid this hack is. Now please excuse me if I decide to kill myself because of how boring and annoying this hack it.

-Graphics-
The graphics have not really changed. Well I guess they have actually changed slightly if you count Omochao and his stupid text bubbles. Maybe the owner could have improved the graphics since it is possible to do that. And I mean I know this has nothing to do with the graphics but this game is like the one who made this took some drugs or something before making this. Anyway, overall the graphics are bad.Oh and I would never rate anything on this game high (Apart from the Difficulty of course)

-Sound-
This game sounds normal but still...Whenever you hit a ring or something you have to sit through about a minute of this stupid noise. and whenever you hit a motorbug or even just hitting a boss in the boss stage. As a result I rated the sound low. Even though it sounds like the original game. It is the Omochao edition so what can I say. The sound is ANNOYING, end of story.

-Addictiveness-
This game is not very addicting. I know people who have quit halfway through. It's not that it can't be addicting..It just can't pull you into it. As for when you complete it, there is a chance you will NEVER come back to it. Due to it being annoying and such. This game will NEVER be addicting. Why did SEGA even create Omochao?! :(

-Story-
This game has no story apart from a little, fat chao buzzing beside you all the time and telling you the obvious. This is what I think the story is : One day a blue hedgehog called Sonic was running around green hill zone. It was a normal day mind you it WAS normal until he bumped into a robotic chao. The chao had a sign on i... Read the rest of this Review
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror

Kirby and the magic mirror review by 98Gamingstar
Ok, so nintendo has had many franchises some of which are better then others and Kirby is just another one of those franchises with most of the games more or less being the same. This is my review on THIS game. Oh by the way, I'm going to be hard on it because by this time nintendo should have learnt about how to do a better Kirby game.

-Graphics-
The graphics in this game are poor. Not just GBA poor, just poor. I know GBA games with better graphics then this. I know the GBA is not as advanced as a nintendo DS or something like that but still. I understand that this may be a ' Early ' Kirby game. But still this is no excuse. Think about it, nintendo have made quite a few Kirby games in the past. They should have learnt by now to try and make the graphics better. And no I'm not going to like the graphics in this game and I don't care if it's on a GBA.

-Sound-
To be honest, I don't really like the sound that much. The GBA has never really had good soundtracks hence why nintendo never bother to make the sound any good. If nintendo want people to get the game then they need to create a better soundtrack than this. I just never liked it, I think maybe some of it may not even fit the levels. I rated this low because I just don't like the soundtrack, end of story...I don't have anything more to say with the sound apart from it sounds like a cat yowling its head off.

-Addictiveness-
This game is VERY addicting. Although I'm not a big fan of the Kirby series its self, I still find some of the games to be addicting. I don't have very good reasons though. I just tend to want to just carry on playing this game whenever I feel like I've had enough. I don't know what's so good about playing as a pink thing and just eating stuff...It gets addicting fast. I can't think of anything more I've got to say so I'm leaving it here

-Story-
To be honest the story is bad. I don't really see the point of it really. I mean I do not really pay... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sonic The hedgehog 2 review by 98Gamingstar
This is a review on Sonic The hedgehog 2. ENJOY!!!

-Graphics-
The graphics are the same as the other Sonic genesis games. But just so I clear this up : I like the sprites, I think they look good for a old, classic game like this. I think maybe they could be touched up on but apart from that, they are really good. I also think the badnik sprites like quite good as well. Like when one is moving, it really does look good. The set pieces also do look good.

-Sound-
The sound fits the game quite well. But maybe they could make it sound a little better.

-Addictiveness-
This game to me is VERY addicting, I've played this game non stop many times. But I have to say, there are some hard bits that may cause you to give up. Im only saying what I think so dont have a go at me.

-Story-
The story is more or less the same as the original Sonic the hedgehog. Only thing that is not the same is that Sonic somehow runs into a orange fox and befriends him or something.

-Depth-
The game does not have much depth. The game is not that big and might maybe take you a few hours at the most to complete. The game offers the same features as before but has a bit more special stages and stuff.

-Difficulty-
The game is not that hard to beat. It might take you a few hours and there might be hard stuff but apart from that. You should be able to complete this game pretty easy...

I hope you liked reading my review. Let me know what you think and what game I should review next!
