Duke Nukem 64 This is a great game, just one problem. All I got was the scenery, nothing else.
Quest 64 I love this game due to the difficulty of the game and how it progresses threw the levels.

Pokemon Emerald
10-26-15 07:04 PM
Serpentine Reviews presents: Pokemon Emerald
When you think back on different Pokémon games that has become classics, what are ones that generally come to mind? Any of the game boy ones do come to mind, as well as a few Nintendo versions, but every time I think of a good Pokémon game, I have to think about one in particular. Sadly, its also the only that I was able to play before the Nintendo 3DS hit the market. (And before anyone says it yes I was late for black and white.) Now what version am I talking about? Why Pokémon Emerald, which I can fairly say helped jumped started the true possibilities of what a Pokémon game can look and feel like.

With that being said, Hello brothers and sisters in gaming and welcome to Serpentine reviews, to which I am reviewing a game that I have thoroughly enjoyed sense I first bought it back in my teen years, and that game is indeed Pokémon Emerald. But before I do, some rules. I will be reviewing this game under the Vizzed reviewing criteria. This means Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty. With that being said, lets get started!

Graphics: For the limitations of the GBA, the graphics for Emerald is very impressive. Of course if you played Ruby and Sapphire, then you'll know what to expect. Now Emerald, however, takes it a step further by adding impressive dynamic cut scenes, moving character sprites as well as Pokémon sprites, and overall the look of it is just amazing. I do believe there is some things that could be worked on, like how a lot of the character sprites are a bit...deformed if I may say, but otherwise, good for them. I say an nine out of ten for graphics.

Sound: The soundtrack and sounds are the same as the ones found on Ruby and Sapphire, but they sound a bit clearer, more defined. Of course that could just be me, but even if its the same as Ruby and Sapphire, the sounds remind you were you are and what kind of Pokémon/trainer battle your walking into. Its very nice to hear h... Read the rest of this Review
Chrono Trigger

Serpentine Review features: Chrono Trigger
So let me get this out of the way. Normally I will do my standard intro when it comes to game reviews, and honestly, I will. But before I do...I need to get this out of the way. Churn Trigger for the NES is, with out a doubt, one of the best games I have ever played for the system, and most likely one of the best RPG games I have ever played. Its a really, really good game overall, and honestly I love this game for what it has in it and what path it paved for the current RPG games.

But honestly, why do I love this game? Why do I enjoy it so much?

Well, brothers and sisters in gaming, lets dive in and find out, and let me show you why I enjoy this game and why I, not just as a reviewer and a gamer, but as a fan of RPG's, would recommend this game to you. As per usual, I will be rating this over the normal Vizzed rating system, by judging the game by its Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty. With that, lets begin.

Graphics: This game, for the time, has a really nice graphics display and overall has a nice feel of the game in general. It has a top down view, sort of, and the way it looks, moves, and just feels overall is really impressive. To be honest, at the time this was the best experience when it came to display. Everything looks how it should be, and the character pictures and design is pretty awesome. Now to be honest, I'm being a bit biased on the character model and picture because it was co designed by Akira Toriyama, a.K.A. the guy who made the DBZ series, but even if I wasn't a fan, I still enjoy the games presentation. I give the Graphics a Ten out of Ten.

Sound: Again, with the Graphics, the sound fits the entire game. Even the OST is really good, well for a NES game, but honestly I enjoy it more and more every time I listen to it. Its so impacting, from the battle theme, to the opening title theme, to even the Lavos boss theme. Its all very easy to enjoy. So honestly, without sounding like a br... Read the rest of this Review
Road Rash 2

Serpentine Review features: Road Rash 2
Hello brothers and sisters in gaming, and welcome once again to the Serpentine Review. Thank you for joining me today, for today I bring a special review to a special game. Now truthfully, I only owned the Sega Genesis for a very short time (This was around the time when I was becoming a Sony fan so the PS was getting more attention from me then the other consoles I had owned at the time), but the console has brought about a lot of great memories and even better games. To be fair, Sonic was a favorite of mine, which I'll review that later...maybe, but then there was other games that had caught my attention, a lot that I really cant name off the top of my head even if I tried.

But then I found this game. The title itself caught my attention. Road Rash 2. I never could find the first one, but at the time I didn't care! This game is amazing. It has everything that it needs, but it does have to faults to it...which I will be reviewing today.

As always I will be reviewing this game threw Vizzed method, which is basing if off of Graphics, Sounds, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty, along with my own person enjoyment of the game. With that being said...lets begin.

Graphics: As expected, this is the Sega Genesis, so I'm not expecting the high end graphics, but honestly, I enjoyed the graphics. The motorcycles look exactly what they should, the characters look nice, and honestly the overall look is rather impressive. Unfortunately there is one major complaint. And that's the actual racing part of the game. To be honest the game just suffers when your playing the race, and everything basically tries to blend together when your turning, causing it to become disorienting and confusing. Its not to big of a problem, but when you get the faster bikes (Looking at you Viper with Nitrous) this can become a rather big annoyance with the game. For this one, I'll give it a good eight out of ten.

Sound: Again, this is a Sega Genesis, so a... Read the rest of this Review
Gex 64 - Enter the Gecko
09-30-15 05:22 AM
Serpentine Review Features: Gex 64
Hello brothers and sisters in gaming and welcome to my review. Now today I decided to challenge myself a little and review a game that I have loved sense childhood. Now let me explain, imagine a kid who was young, had just beaten Mario World, LoZ Ooc, Starfox 64, and so on and so forth, I was getting bored. Don't ask me on why, but when I was a kid my attention span was really low.

Then a friend of mine came to me and he said, "Hey buddy, why not try Gex 64?" Obviously this perked my interest, and oh my god the game is just so much fun! And granted there has been many versions of the game on many platforms, the N64 version remains the absolute best in my eyes, always being great when it comes to graphics and sound.

Okay, now that I'm not gushing over the game, lets get to the review okay? Now I'm going to do this how I do it always, by Vizzed standards. The Graphics, Sounds, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty. And at the end, as well as adding in my own personal enjoyment, I will give it a final score. Lets begin.

Graphics: The N64 was infamous for good graphics at the time, no doubt better then the past, and Gex is no different. The graphics are really good, especially sense it changes up the style of the levels depending on the level that your on. Its pretty cool, to be completely honest. It reminds me a lot of how Mario World pulled it off, by changing the artwork and graphics to fit the level. Only because of the world of Gex, its pulled off on a grander level. Its something that defiantly deserves a glance, and to be enjoyed. There are some instances, however, where the graphics fail in some areas, and others I question if it was a wise choice, for some level obstacles, such as lava or enemies practically blend in with the surroundings, but its okay. I can deal. So...how does a eight out of ten. Sounds legit right?

Sound: Sound effects and soundtrack was a real selling point of this game. You see, just like how the ... Read the rest of this Review
Urbz, The - Sims in the City

Serpentine Review feartures: The Urbs
How are we doing today my fellow gamers? Brothers and Sisters and all others alike, welcome to my review on a game that spans many console platforms but, for some reason that I really can't truly explain, this one I enjoy the most out of the group, a game known simply as The Urbs.

Now before I begin this review let me say a little something about this game. For those of you who do not know, The Urbs is exactly what the game describes. Its the Sims in the city. Seems easy to understand right? To put it in basic terms, remember in the Sims where you could build your own home and buy stuff for it while customizing your characters life style? Well that's basically been amp ed and ret coned for this game. As I will explain in the review. The Urbs is truly a sandbox that is fun for anyone, and if your a fan of Sims, you'll enjoy this game...if not get very confused by it.

Any who, lets continue the review shall we!?

Graphics: Obviously because this is a GBA game, the graphics are not going to be a high point, but to be honest, for a GBA game, it does do very well in surroundings, graphics on objects, and making everything look how they should. However for the Graphics I will say one thing. and that the game is in a top down view in a diagonal slant, which makes entry ways for doors or areas confusing. But regardless its not bad. I give it a solid eight out of ten.

Sound: Again the sound for a GBA game is once again not going to get to high on marks because of how GBA games basically always shared the same sounds, but for the Urbs, its pretty original. Honestly a lot of the sounds remind me of the PS2 version of the game, or rather the soundtracks. But again a lot of the game where the character (yours) reacts to different things with the proper sound and voice. I like this as a sound detail. So for this score...yeah eight out of ten again.

Addictiveness: Ten out of Ten. I'm sorry but for reasons very obvious if you played the g... Read the rest of this Review
Contra

A good review for a legendary game: Contra
Greetings and salutations my brothers in gaming! Its me, ZeegSerpentine, and I'm back to give another review over a game I have the honor to say was the few gateway games into gaming. Sure, there are a lot of games out there, but to remind my fellow gamers, the N64 and the NES was the game systems that I started out with, and man, I will never deny that I will have a special place for them in my soul.

But enough of that, allow me to take a minute to at least tell you how Contra is so much of an epic game!  Remember brothers, its just a review, therefore opinion, so don't freak please.

Graphics: Heh...well I can't really say that its the greatest of graphics, but at least the artists for the game actually was able to make the scenery and the bad guys decent. Don't get me wrong, I think that for an NES game, Contra should get a medal...but maybe not a gold. Sorry, but for Contra being as BA as it is, I just can't give it a good score on graphics. So, I would have to say for graphics...yeah I'll say 7 out of 10 sounds pretty fair.

Sound: So many levels, different weapons, and so on, but man the sound made you get pumped up in a seriously good way! No question on it in the back of my mind, even if I got blasted away, the sound that pretty much ment "Your dead ha!" that went off when you, duh, died, made me go EEEE! In glee! So lets see, for sound, I'll give it a 9 out of 10. Again, pretty darn fair huh?

Addictiveness: Man, I couldn't begin to tell you how addicting the game is. I remember when I was young and didn't know the code to get 99 lives, I was constantly on a war path in the game. I wouldn't set the controller down for a thing. A THING. And even when I finally beat the game, heh, I just went back to playing, and soon I got my Dad and other friends to play it. That's how addicting this game is. So now, it deserves a much rewarded 10 out of 10.

Story: Well...I can't say there was a story line in this game. It was... Read the rest of this Review
Forsaken 64

ZeegSerpentine's Review
Oh my god its me again everyone! ZeegSerpentine doing another great review over another great game that has been a favorite of all time. Oh yes you know what it is. The legendary Forsaken 64. Oh man I didn't think that Vizzed had this game but once again I was proved wrong. Davideo7, you are the best man no joke. Okay enough brown nosing, its time to get down to the real brass tax in this room you know what I'm saying?

Graphics: Okay first off, allow me to say this. In my eyes, out of the whole N64 saga of video games that was in 3D, this one is no doubt in the top ten. This game is so real in its first person view that I actually thought that I was in it. Man and when you see how you fire, its like your really taking your ship and firing at the robots in this game. Amazing amazing. No doubt this game had the graphics quality, and no doubt that whoever was smart enough to suggest this game to be mad is still sitting on a gold mine. Anyway I think this game is well deserving of a perfect 10 out of 10.

Sound: A good characteristic of a game is its sound, and this game exceeds its expectations on the subject. Every shot sounds real, the music is crisp and perfect, and the way things just seem to explode and sound like such, perfect. I honestly remember playing this when I was younger and I played this with a T.V. that had a head phone jack, and wow. So yes my friends and fellow gamers, again, I give this a 10 out of 10.

Addictiveness: The game is, in my opinion, highly addicting. Not only is it a great game to play with friends and family, it also has a great one player. Not just with the story mode, which I will explain next, but because of its challenge modes and its multiplayer action. I can honestly say that when it comes down to it, this games addictiveness ratio is purely perfect. So...yeah you can already guess it. 10 out of 10 again.

Okay first before I do story then may I just state this...when I give a three in a row ... Read the rest of this Review

ZeegSerpentine's Review
Howdy to all my gamers and if you are reading this, then yes, it is true and it is not a illusion. I, ZeegSerpentine, am doing a review, and this game just so happens to be the second game I have reviewed so far. So lets get down to it, okay?

Graphics: The games graphics, for a N64, is no doubt a all time awesome. In my own eyes I saw that with every kill and with every explosion, it looked just that. Well, of course, to an extent. I mean everything looked cool and all, buildings, alien bug things, and so on was cool, but their attacks and such, sorry, but if the creators of this game can do good on the surroundings, so can they on the attacks. So I gave this game for graphics a 8 out of 10

Sound: The sounds quality was actually good in my eyes, but in a way of speaking, the battle themes just wasn't real creative you know? I mean, if you face one thing, a couple battles down the road, you hear the SAME SONG. But I'm not really hating on the sound at all. But in all honesty, I really have a grudge with how there is no talking people in the game. Having texts for what the person says is good and all, but the only audio for voices I've heard is the bugs, people screaming, and the final boss. Sorry, but if your going to give the bugs sounds, be a cool dude and at least give someone that's human have speech. So I think that this game has a 8 out of ten as well.

Addictiveness: Okay lets face the facts of this game real quick. It doesn't matter how you look at this, the game as a whole is no doubt addicting. When I first played this when I was a kid, I was hooked. Now that I've grown up, and even though this site won't let me play it, its still a great game in my own eyes. And when you think about it, if you had the cheats for this game, which I have noticed someone has posted cheats, it makes the game, well, a lot more fun to play. Am I right? So lets see...based on how hooked I am on it, and how it actually has stayed as such, I give this an e... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda, The - The Minish Cap

ZeegSerpentines Review
In my eyes this game is no doubt a game any person would want to play who is in fact a huge fan of the Zelda series. I honestly would recommend this game to people who loves the series.

The reason however why I would give an overall 9.5 to this game is real simple. Truth its a good game, but in difficulty I find it to be an easy but fun game at the same time. Sure it has its moments where you need to challenge your thinking and so on to get to another part of the game, but when you begin to get the hand of it turns out to be very easy and playable. Not that I'm saying its not a hard game still though mind you.

Another thing I should comment on is the side missions that can lead up and help you in the long run, for example the key stone thing matching. If you match one with another, you get something great or something appears and you can go look for it and take it as your own. A good way to get good things.
