I don't give a Duck what you think... I LIKE THIS GAME!
Disney's Duck Tales... What a sham thy don't make this cartoon anymore...

And the game, Well I first played this on the old GameBoy, and have to base most of my review on that - And the comparison between the two...

The most obvious difference, Colour - While the GameBoy was Monochrome - Here its GLORIOUS FULL COLOUR!

Does that affect Gameplay? Well, to be honest I have no idea until I have beat the game again - Those who I know who have played all the way through have suggested there is some colour clash at times... But Where I have played to so far, I have had no problems.

So, Storywise? Scrooge McDuck has had his riches stolen and now has to travel the globe and get them back... Simple! Except the thief is one of his arch enemies and has prepared some devious traps for you.

There is little to say other than that - This is one of those brilliantly simple, bright and colourful games that owes a lot to Mario. Yup! Killing enemies requires jumping on their heads (Albeit with a "Pogo Stick")

There are some very nice puzzles, and six stages to work through... There are also 3 difficulty levels so enough to keep most people going.

Super Star Wars

A well made Movie Tie In...
I love Star Wars... Plain and Simple, so anything tied in with that License normally has my interest...

Super Star Wars was one of those, and what a great tie in...

However, the term "Super" only refers to the system it was released on, as it has an INSANE difficulty curve!

While the first level is not too challenging, it quickly becomes intense!

Graphics vary between two viewpoints depending on the stage... Most of the stages are a horizontally scrolling shoot em up stage, and graphics are good for these - Well animated and colourful.

The other is an into the screen 3D Stage... Normally for the Space and Travelling Stages - Fast and furious, the ships in the space battles are well constructed and animated.

Story wise - It is just following the movie, so if you have seen the films (Which if you have not - You have either lived under a rock or just plain hate them in which case you will hate this game!) so there is no real point expanding on that.

There is a good selection of levels to keep you going, but its not exactly the most "Deep game" you are ever going to play.

Despite being a very hard game - It is addictive... It will probably leave you wanting to throw your SNES at teh wall though! (I did! Numerous times!)

Beyond doubt far superior to its NES counterpart - But I have to make a VERY sad confession... I actually like the NES Game...

SUPER STAR WARS may not be an all time classic, but it is a good sign that a basic formula done well CAN give a damn fine Movie Tie-In...

Just a shame most fail to learn from what was achieved here.

It may be old, but its still great!
Oh My God!!! I did not even know this old arcade classic had been released for NES until I found it on Vizzed...

I know that the admins prefer reviews to be broken down into sections... But there is not really any point for this one... Still, Lets try and just go for it...

Graphics - Perfect! More or less the very same as the arcade - Yes they are basic but they did not need to be fancy back in the 1970's, the game just had to have that "One more play" factor. Its a fancy Space Invaders! So don't expect anything special...

Sound - Once again, It's a more or less perfect adaption of the Arcade - That may not sound like much, but given some of the poor sound on games that had a far higher budget, getting a near perfect adaption of Arcade Sound for the NES was amazing for its time!

Story - What Story? Its Advanced Space Invaders... You do not need a story!

Addictiveness - Most notably a "One More Game" factor, Anyone who played this in the arcades will remember how it stole all our pocket money... That same aspect has transferred well to the NES Port, though I have to be honest - I have not played long enough to know if there are continues (A lack of them could be a real pain in the butt!)

Depth - No Depth! There are some nice bonus rounds to break up the monotony, but this game is just a very basic formula.

Difficulty - While not the most difficult game in the world, it can have its moments. On occasion, your ship can get captured costing you a life, but if you manage to shoot the alien that captured your ship, then you can get increased firepower...

Sounds easy? Nope! Actually planning for this is near impossible - And most of the time it will happen more by luck than judgement.

As a near perfect arcade conversion, there is little more to say other than if you are a proper old school retro gamer (Like me! The kind who remember having to actually go out and see sunlight... Read the rest of this Review
Star Wars - Flight of the Falcon

Not too bad at all
While not the Best Star Wars game around, for the Game Boy Advance - This was not too bad.

The first level is not too challenging while the second is a PAIN!

None the less, graphics are reasonable, and the game overall is kinda fun...

It main issue of one of speed. The game is SLOW... Awfully slow... And as such controls can be a little unresponsive especially when in the Chase Sequences on Mos Eisley.

Given its age and the Console it was for, Its not unreasonable to consider this a worthwhile game and would be worth a look if you can find it...

If you have a Game Boy Advance and want a good game to buy - It worth spending a few on.

Run of the Mill Blastathon!
I remember this game from the arcades and how much fun it was... It simply Zombie Armageddon so grab your Gun and blast your way to survival. Graphics are cartoony and the difficulty can be somewhat unfair at times especially with some of the bosses, but a good supply of ammo drops throughout. Nice special weapons too...

Its nothing too out of this world, there are far better out there, but it has a fun "Come back for more" element to it and that kept me plopping coins in for many years in the arcades... I will defiantly be playing it here again!
