Legend of Zelda, The - Majora's Mask
07-03-13 09:57 AM
Too dark? Nah it's fine.
We are looking at a game. Not just any game. But a game that is said to be the darkest game in the Zelda franchise. A direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, I present to you, Majora's Mask! A game that get's criticized a lot but, in my opinion is much more deserving of the praise that Ocarina of Time. Yes, I said it. this game is a lot better it's older brother, so let's get into it!

Plot: This has quite the plot that is much more deep than anything before it. So, after Zelda sent Link to the past (pun not intended) at the end of Ocarina of Time, Link then sets out to find an old friend, who can only be guessed as Navi. However on his journey through the woods, he runs into a Skull kid who is wearing a very strange looking mask called "Majora's Mask" if you haven't already guessed it. In hasty action, the skull kid steals Link's Ocarina of Time, turns Link into a Deku Scrub, and flees off. But not without taking a fairy's brother with him, leaving the other fairy with Link. Link then finds out he has 3 days to save the world or the moon will crash onto Clock Town located in Termina before he can go back to Hyrule.

Not nearly as deep... That is probably what you're thinking isn't it? Well, this game has a lot of side stories that can really add the "darkness" implemented into this game. Giving it a much sadder plot. But the main stuff is out of the way, so let's begin with the Game Play shall we?

Game Play: Sit back because this might be the longest category in this review. Along with Link's swordplay... Oh wait, we can't cover that yet? No... We have to get the Deku Scrub Game Play first. So, the Deku Scrub play's like Link, only get can't use swords or shields. He can't use a snot bubble attack like arrows, fly by spinning around in plants, and use a spin attack. That's about it.

To be honest it is kind of disappointing not being able to use the Deku Scrub a lot later in the game. But there are more forms.
So basically to turn in... Read the rest of this Review

Take a dive into the New Generation.
Hello fellow readers, members, and reviewers alike! Today we are reviewing one of the most Iconic games in Mega Man assistance! take a gaze upon the New Generation Mega Man we know as Mega Man X! Now we have a lot, and I mean A lot of ground to cover if were ever going to make it through this heck of a game! Has it aged well in the gaming universe? Has it left a big impression for us gamers as a whole? Let's find out!

Plot: Well isn't this a surprise? Mega Man X is in fact a total new generation like previously stated. In fact it's so new, it takes a total of about 100 years into the future of what we know as Mega Man (Classic). X, like Mega Man himself, is a robot of Dr. Thomas Light. Not just any robot, but a reploid. A robot that can have their own feelings and emotions. Along with that they can make their own decisions. X himself, has a bit of sentience to him. Dr. Cain, a scientist finds the blueprints and other necessities needed to finish Dr. Light's work. So, he finishes the robot and our adventure takes place some time later...

X has took notice of the chaos that has been about in the city, so he decides to do something about it and take some action! Minutes into his adventure, a huge robot appears from a ship and starts wailing on X. Wringing him by the neck, he insults X ready to deliver the final blow when... You guessed it. The coolest, one of the most famous characters known to the Mega Man fan base shows up and blows off the arm of Vile (the robot who almost destroyed us). Charging up his buster, Vile makes a hasty retreat and Zero gives us some quick info that can basically be summed up as "You aren't ready for the big stuff. But one day, you will be ready for the tough guys". Now, we begin the hunt... Of mavericks.

Game Play: Similar to Mega Man 2 and onward, Mega Man X has you hunting down X robot mavericks and destroying them. In addition to adapting their powers. But I must mention, a bit of more stuff has been added &n... Read the rest of this Review
Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Colonel
06-28-13 09:45 PM
Battle Network 5. The real Network.
With each Battle Network installment, (Excluding 4 that is) each game has to improve on what the others have lacked in right? That's just the inhabitant way of video games no? Well you're completely correct. That is exactly what this game did. Even compared to the brother game, Team ProtoMan, this game is much better than the last. In most aspects, it does it's job to complete what others have failed. Now let's jump into Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel!

Plot: The plot of this game is exactly like it was in Team Protoman, but with a little more flavor text and interesting dialogue. Think of it as Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past. Two different games but Ocarina of Time has more flavor and engaging things. Now let's summarize this guy up.

Taking place after Battle Network 4, a scientist name "Regal" from the previous installment makes an organization named Nebula. Like we haven't had enough of those yet... His plan is to take over the Internet or "Net" and surprisingly he succeeds. Or at least he would've with one vital object. Lan's Pet.  So now what? Is the game over? Of course not. Because we have two guys (and a bunch of others) whose names and Lan and Mega Man! Anyways, the Official Net Battlers devise a strategy. One that involves gathering a team of members and their Navis and working together to liberate the captured areas. Sounds fun right? Well... Yes and no... But that's something for another category. On their adventure, Lan and MegaMan ask and recruit many members and their powerful/useful Navis! Some better than others from TP, and some worse.

Well now. Not such a problem there now was it? Great. Now I can cover the big guys. First and foremost, let's cover the Game Play.

Game Play: Now you may be asking. How does this game compare with the rest of the franchise or even Mega Man Zero for that matter? It's a Mega Man game so what's up here? See, Mega Man Battle Network... Read the rest of this Review
Mega Man
06-15-13 08:38 PM
I am Mega Man. Now feel my MegaBuster.
Looks like we're looking at one of the most iconic video game series' to date. And one of the most hardest at that. You guessed it! It's Mega Man! A franchise I respect for a huge amount of reasons. The epic stages, the awesome soundtrack, the emotional characters and even it's ability to make it's story progress with each game and allow itself to make SENSE. Yeah that's right I'm looking at you Zelda. But we aren't here to talk about other franchises here no. We're here to talk about the Blue Bombing rainbow color robot we know as Mega Man. Now let's begin.

Plot: Back then who gave a care in the world about plot? Not many people unless you watched a lot of deep movies. Like Mario or even Sonic for that matter, the plot of Mega Man wasn't to complicated. It wasn't nearly as unoriginal as Mario's stories are, or anywhere near as complicated as Zelda, but it is still a game that can tell compelling stories. So here is where it all starts out.

2 scientific geniuses, Dr. Thomas Light and Dr. Albert Wily (notice a pattern here) have discovered the creation of industrial working robots with the addition of Rock and Roll. However Dr. Light is the only one who receives credit for these amazing robots. So Dr. Wily devises a plan. A plan to steal all 6 of their robots, Gutsman, Cutman, Elecman, Bombman, Fireman, and Iceman, in order to take over the world. Now Rock, wanting everlasting peace for both Humans and Robots alike, wants Dr. Light into a super fighting robot. Understanding his feelings for the world, the doctor transforms him into the super fighting robot were all know today as Mega Man. Thus results in the destruction of the industrial robots and the foiling of Dr. Wily's evil schemes.

Game Play: We all know how side scrollers can be. But how does Mega Man affair? Well to most people, Mega Man is the King, yes I said it, the KING of the sidescrolling genre. Give mario a slap to the face because we a... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past

Don't underestimate a kid with a sword!
This is Chaoscontrolx with my second review ladies and gentlemen! Today we are looking at what may be the most favorable title in the Legend of Zelda series, Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past! The third Zelda title in the series (if you want to be literal here) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System! And boy, do we have a lot to cover this time around! So why don't we get started! Like all my reviews will be, let's begin with the plot.

Plot: Let me get one thing straight. I won't be going over how this game's plot effects the franchise as a whole, no. I will be going over how the plot in this game is. Besides, back then only 3 games were present. the first, the second, and this game. So without further ado let's get started!

As a prequel to the first 2, Link to the past is a whole different generation. So this game takes place way before the others. Anyways, there exists a "Golden Land" that contains the Triforce itself. Many have died trying to reach the Land and obtain the triforce to make their wishes reality. The Golden land later in time gives out an evil energy cause chaos to erupt. to stop this, Seven sages use their powers and abilities to seal the passage to the Golden Land, thus having peace prosper over Hyrule. Centuries later a dark wizard known as Agahnim discovered the way to get to the golden land. With this, his plan begins to take action. He obtained the king of Hyrule and... Well, kills him in the most harsh of ways. He kidnaps the Seven Maidens (descendants of the Seven sages) and attempts to use their power to establish a connection between the Golden Land and the Light World. During the nighttime, Zelda, (one of the maidens) speaks telepathically to Link's uncle. Despite the uncle's warnings, Link proceeds to the castle anyway. He finds his wounded uncle on the floor. With his dying breath, he gives link his Shield and Sword. The beginning his adventure. Our hero eventually&n... Read the rest of this Review
