Mimerio's Last Game Comments | International Track & Field | I remember playing this game with my sister and cousin, it was really difficult for me as I have bad hand-eye coordination. One of the first button mashing games I actually played! | Disney\'s Dinosaur | Might just be me but it loads up to 88% then resets the loading bar. Already submitted an error. |

Tennis 12-25-14 09:34 PM |
Back and Forth - Past and Future Hello everyone and welcome to another one of my reviews, this time I will be reviewing a very old classic which is known simply as "Tennis". What might this game be about I wonder? Basketball? Swimming? We'll never know it seems! We send out our rally with our Graphics, now this is an interesting part of reviewing as this game was released in the year 1989. A whole 5 years before I was even born. But that's beside the point. The game has very limited graphics and is in black and white so I can't really praise it for much in the colours department sadly. Score thus far 4 out of 10 Next comes the Sound department, something which interests me. The game itself has very limited sound, consisting of the same sounds and a looping music track. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, because for what it has, it definitely is something worthwhile. (Although personally, I prefer playing with the Music turned off, helps me concentrate better.) Score thus far 10 out of 20 Our rebounding shot from our enemy comes at us! The level of addiction of this game is definitely a variable topic. This is due to the fact that some people may be natural born winners at this game and would like to play again. Then there are the sore losers who lose one set and immediately leave the game and never return to it ever again. I scored this a 7 for this range of addiction. Score thus far 17 out of 30 (I have skipped the story part as it is irrelevant to the game) Next comes the Depth, something like the "Story" section is rather irrelevant, but I thought I'd add a point or two to the fact this game has 4 "Levels" which each one is an increased difficulty than the previous, which I will move onto in just a moment Score so far 21 out of 40 Finally! The last point (both literally and figuratively) the Difficulty of the game is, as mentioned above rather varied as you get to choose before pla... Read the rest of this Review |
Pokemon Pinball - Ruby & Sapphire 08-07-14 10:45 AM |
Nostalgia Rebound - Literally Hi everyone! Mimerio here for another review! It's been quite a while I believe so let's begin from step 1. I review here relatively often if I get the chance or if a game reminds me of my childhood I will instantly look for it and review it after re-living memories. To elaborate my reviews and to make them a bit more fun, I often use word-play or terms related to the game I am reviewing. Today is Pokemon Pinball - Ruby and Sapphire, so let's launch into it! We start our review with the graphics! I loved these as a child and I couldn't believe a Game Boy Advance had the capabilities of making such beautiful graphics. I gave these a 9 out of 10, the only thing that could "bumper" it up a little would be to make it a little more colourful. Impossible now, but a nice suggestion no? Score so far: 9 out of 10 Next is the sound, something I really enjoyed. Now correct me if I'm mistaken, but various pieces of music or the sound of this game has been recycled from Ruby and Sapphire. You ask me, if it's not new music why are you giving this a 10 out of 10? I'll tell you. I enjoy all the bloops and bleeps so much is because they remind me of playing Ruby and Sapphire. I can guarantee you'll "flip" with joy. Score so far: 19 out of 20 Next comes the Addictiveness (Seriously? that word again? It doesn't exist!) Very addictive game, I could play this for literal hours as a child playing this to the point where my GBA charger would be so warm you could roast marshmallows on it!... not saying I did that as a kid. I'm not THAT stupid. But you get the basic idea, I was a very easily amused child, as I'm still an easily amused 20 year old to this day (of writing this) I used to "tilt" my head a lot as a side-effect of this game. Really. Score so far: 29 out of 30 Next comes the story, to be frank, there isn't one. There's a "sort of" story where you go around collecting Pokemon around the Hoenn p... Dr. Mario 04-11-14 08:46 AM |
Doctor Mario - Mad Doctor Hi everyone! Mimerio here. It's been a while hasn't it? Since I last wrote a review that is! Today's review will be about a game that was from many many... alright maybe not that many for some, years ago. Doctor Mario. But you think you yourself and ask - wasn't Mario a plumber? Yes he was, he still is. He's gone down sewage pipes now he's going down your windpipe in this rather interesting spin on the popular franchise. We go right into the mouth and look at the graphics section, things with the eyes! What do we see? We see a bunch of blue, yellow and red viruses running amok in our patient's body! Oh no, what will we do?! Thankfully Mario, sorry DOCTOR Mario has three pills, what's this? They too are blue, yellow and red? What a coincidence, how would we use them I wonder. Next we travel to the left and right and find the Sound department, things we can hear! The music is repetitive, but very catchy. the game has a few different selections of music based on your difficulty setting. But all three are equally as repetitive but equally as catchy to contrast! Addictiveness, we travel northwards to the brain, the big cheese, the noodle, the central thinker in all it's glory. Tests show this game is highly addictive! Could it be nicotine Doctor? no? Well what is it then? It seems that the patient has an addiction to this game Doctor. What is the cure? We remain in the brain to research the frustration levels of our test subject, seems that these levels are normal. I don't think we really need to... wait a minute! the frustration levels seem to rise as the player goes further in the game?! Doctor we have a crisis situation here! So Doctor, what is your diagnosis? I see: it seems he has "Gameus Addictivitus" A cure for it is to remove all traces of technology from around him and give him books instead. A one week dosage of this shall remedy the situation. If all else fails we'd have to perf... Read the rest of this Review |
Powerpuff Girls, The - Chemical X-Traction 02-03-14 03:05 PM |
Packs a Punch... Sort of Hello everyone, today I will be reviewing a game from my early childhood, the game in question? The Powerpuff Girls - Chemical X-Traction!. Let me give you a little background information. Upon seeing this title upon the shelves at my local game shop, you can imagine how excited I was to buy and eventually play this game. Sure, I liked it. It was decent, but not the best, not what I expected to be honest. Graphics: Well, as this is the N64 Version of the game and not the PlayStation one, I'll omit a few details, the N64 one does not have the cut scenes, which make it seem less fun. Also the game makes the characters look really.. what's that word? Weird? No... Wacky? Nope... Oh yes, Out of shape. Quite literally too, Sedusa looks like a stickwoman with purple spaghetti flying out of her head for an example. Sound: This is where the game gets it's good points, the characters are well voiced and the music is very good, it provides a very upbeat trumpet song of the Powerpuff Girls opening theme. Not only this but each stage has very good music too, which I believe is game-original. So bonus points there. Addictiveness: This game is alright, it's not something I would come back to, but the game has a special condition to get to the proper end, you have to beat it with all three Powerpuff Girls to unlock the bonus stage and the final boss. It shouldn't be that difficult to assume who it is if you're a big fan of the cartoon. But I won't spoil it here anyway. Story: Sugar, Spice and all things nice, these things were mixed together to create the perfect little... pie? Yep that's right, the game is about a pie. The pie is no ordinary pie mind you, this pie has a certain chemical in it. That certain pie gets eaten and gives the villains superpowers. Oh no! Depth: Hardly a deep game until the last 2 "levels". The game is a standard beat-em-up with a very basic plot line but has it's perks in places. It woul... Read the rest of this Review |
Love Hina Advance (english translation) 01-29-14 02:05 PM |
Loved, Loving, Love Hina Welcome to my review of the game Love Hina Advance. First off, I'd like to mention that this game has been unofficially translated into English. But it is definitely a game I enjoy playing. It is one of the few games that I know of that are based off of an anime and have been translated (although unofficially as I had said). But great job Vizzed! Genre: Visual Novel / Dating Simulation Definition: Visual Novels are games where you play through a scene made up of text, and are required to make a decision, for better or worse to get an overall good or bad ending at the end. Beginning with the Graphics section, it's got some quite decent graphics if I do say so myself, the pictures used are mainly stills from the anime series of the same name. I have yet to complete this game fully, but having seen the anime, I can guess where this ends up. Sound: Music-wise this is a very good game, it also plays an instrumental version of the anime's opening song "Sakura Saku" (Cherry Blossoms Blooming) at the end of each "episode". Voice-wise, it retains the Japanese vocals from the main characters, which may seem a little weird, but as I had mentioned above, this game was unofficially translated into English. Addictiveness is where this game (and Visual Novels in general) get good scores, as you can play again and again to try and get the good endings, or if you're one of those people who like seeing people out of luck, they would get the bad endings. Note: Some Visual Novels have "Neutral" endings, where there is a standard conclusion and no real advancement with the plot. Some others, on the other hand require you to unlock all endings, Good and Bad, to gain access to a Bonus Ending. Not having completed this game yet, I have yet to discover if such Bonus Ending exists. Story is an interesting thing, as this game is based off of the anime of the same name, but as I had also mentioned earlier, the story ... Read the rest of this Review |

Rugrats: Search for Reptar 12-21-13 07:46 PM |
Rugrats - Search For Reptar Walkthrough (In Progress) So - we begin my strategy guide for Rugrats: Search for Reptar. I will start by saying that this was one of my favourite games as a child and I look forward to sharing this walkthrough with you all. Some notes before we begin Controls: D-Pad: Moves your Rugrat, Scroll through menus Start - Pauses / Unpauses Game Triangle - When near a "Level Trigger" (sparkly object) this begins the level. While you are holding something you can also throw it by pressing this. Square - Makes your Rugrat walk instead of run Circle - Pick up / Put Down objects Cross - Jump, Confirm menu selections. This game is divided into a multitude of mini-games which can be played in any order. Note: "Hard" levels will not be playable until you have collected a certain amount of puzzle pieces. I will also be giving the level guides in the order of Easy, Medium and then Hard. (This includes Bonus Levels) You start off the game with a cut scene as little Tommy Pickles wishes to play with his Reptar Puzzle, only to find that all but one of the pieces has mysteriously disappeared, causing Tommy to cry, which leads our young hero on a quest to find the missing pieces. Note: There are more mini games than there are puzzle pieces to find. You need 12 pieces to beat the game. You start off with one of them. There are two ways of obtaining puzzle pieces, one is obviously by completing minigames, the other is to find and collect 15 Reptar Bars. Note: In some levels, you will get Reptar Bars instead of puzzle pieces. Also, in certain levels you will see a bottle of chocolate milk in the lower right, this is your health, if it gets too low, look for cookies to replenish it. If it gets too low, you're baby will start to cry and you will have to start the level over. (From what I remember if you make him / her cry 3 times, you get sent ba... Read the rest of this Guide |
