Sims 2: Pets, The

The Sims 2: Pets!
I randomly bought The Sims 2: Pets some years ago and I'm glad I did. It is really a fun game. All the Sim games are great, but in this one, not only do you get to build a home, career, and network of friends for your Sims, but you get to have pets! You can create a pet from scratch and choose its, breed, colors, and personality.  There is even pet shop and other pet stores at the pet park that you can adopt from, buy treats from, and buy furniture and toys for your furry friends. How cool is that?
You start of with a few houses in a neighborhood (named by you) with families in it, which means you get to decorate more than one home control a number of groups of Sims and their pets. My favorite part is building homes from scratch. There are so many textures, flooring, walling, and furniture to choose from. You can decorate outside as well as inside and build your own walls. The possibilities are limitless.

Creating Sims is another part I love. You can change their body type, skin color, clothes, and so much more. There is a lot to choose from. Your Sims can also work and have a job of YOUR choice. They learn skills by doing a variety of things and studying which allows them to get better at doing tasks and earn promotions at work. The more their jobs pay, the more money they have and more stuff they can buy! But don't buy too much stuff or your house might catch on fire!

You have to take care of your Sims and make sure they are taking care of themselves by eating, sleeping, bathing, and keeping the house tidy or them will become very unhappy and faint. Your Sim pets are like real pets and need to be well fed and seen to as well. You will have to clean up after them, replace the things they destroy, and keep them happy by giving them attention. Fortunately, once you have enough money, you can hire a maid to help you out.

Monster Seed

Monster Seed Review!
I feel honored to be the first to review this great game, Monster. It was something really cool when it came out, and I spent countless hours playing it as a kid, and later when I was able to buy it from the video store where I borrowed video games, as a teen. It is like a cross between Pokémon and Digimon. You take on the role of a Ruler (person who is a master of Monsters) named Daniel (you can later change his name) who accidentally overhears the biggest baddies in the game plotting. They assume you are eavesdropping and get rid of you, only they don't actually succeed and you survive. You are later found by a man named Wolf who brings you to his home where he and his sweet granddaughter daughter Kal looks after you until you wake. Then you are off to complete missions given to you by the town Chief and fight against the Black Rope Gang, a group of thieves who are causing Mayhem in the town of Len Bal. What are they really up to?

Monster Seed is a strategy game and is turn based. It is similar in game play to Shining Force; you move by squares on a battle field grid. One thing that might turn you off about the game is that you only get to control Daniel and have very little command of your monsters. What I mean by that is they move and attack on their own. You can give them instructions like Attack (attack normally), Defend (be cautious), Suicide (attack with all you've got), and Assistance (use assistance abilities and magic), but that's pretty much it. I loved that about the game, though. Depending on the monster's personality, it might be very lazy and decide it does not want to fight and beg you to be recovered (like being returned to a Pokeball). On the other hand, it could be extremely loyal to you and sacrifice the last of it's strength to defeat your enemies (tear).

For it's time, I think that the graphics in the game were pretty great compared quite a few PS1 games I have played. It looks 3D but has a good bit of det... Read the rest of this Review
Shining Force

Shining Force Game Review!
Shining Force is in the top three of my favorite video games. I first played it in Sega Smashpack II on the family's PC when I was a kid and played it often since then. All of the Shining games are great, but this one is the best in my opinion. You play the role of the hero Max who leads the Shining Force to defeat the evil Dark Dragon. Along the way, you recruit friends and allies that join your party and battle with you in the fight against darkness.

This game is turn-based, and you control every character in your party during battle. You move by square spaces; how many squares each character can move depends on terrain and that person's Move stats. There is a variety of classes in the game like Mages, Archers, Warriors and even some secret and promotional classes that might surprise you. At certain levels, some characters including Max (the main character) can be promoted to better a class. Besides battle, you get to walk around, explore, and interact with people and things like in many other RPGs.

Graphics 8
The graphics in this game aren't spectacular, but I rate them as I do because they are clear, interesting, and don't look flat. Many classic RPGs characters don't look very much alive or detailed in battle and their graphics look rather dull, but in this game, you see them move in battle scenes and actually believe they are attacking. The characters almost seem to have actual souls, each of them are unique visually. Every item has it's on appearance, and you can see each unique weapon in battle when it is equipped.

Sound 8
In this game, you are leading your own army, the Shining Force, and the music goes really well with it. You really feel like you're are really participating in a war with the battle drums sounding in the music because it is very military like. The music also changes to fit other parts of the game. For example, when someone passes away the music gets very emotional and sad.

Pokemon Ruby Review!
When I first bought Pokémon Ruby, I wasn't that much excited because I was one of those Pokémon fans who did not like the look of the new Pokémon at the time. This game absolutely changed that. I fell in love with all the Third Generation Pokémon, and even more with the amazing Hoen region. There is rain and desert and a variety of interesting Pokémon habitats. You can even dive deep into the ocean and discover treasures and hidden caves. There is so much to do and this game not only makes you feel like a real Pokémon trainer, but it makes you feel like a real explorer and a brave adventurer.

GRAPHICS 9
The visual in this game are really something.I really love the lightning when it is storming, it looks so realistic. There are so many textures and variations in landscape, it feels like a real place. Everything looks right and you don't feel like you are just looking at pixels on a screen; it looks like you are peering into the world Ash Ketchum lives in and knows.

SOUND 9
I love the sound in this game. The music is perfect  for the adventure and for battling, and every situation you encounter. It helps you get into it. The sound effects are great as well.

ADDICTIVENESS 9
Like many other Pokémon games, this game is very easy to get addicted to. You start to hear the first Pokémon theme song in your head as you travel across the lands, searching for and wide. If you like gambling, you will probably enjoy the Mauville Game Corner (a little casino, really) As well. I love it. The Pokémon Competitions are very addictive also. Like dog shows for Pokémon trainers, only your Pokémon are allowed to act up. Very cool.

STORY 9
The story of Pokémon and being the very best Pokémon trainer in the world never gets old. The  thing is, with every new Pokémon game comes new adventures and new people and Pokémon to meet. There is so much... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi\'s Island

Yoshi's Island!
This was the first video game I had ever owned. I had of course played other Mario games at my friends' houses and at arcades, but this one was my own, and it was the best. One of the reasons I really enjoy it is because it takes you back, all the way to when Mario (Luigi, too)  was in diapers. When you think of Mario, the first thing that comes to mind is probably not a crying baby, but it has been imprinted in my brain: Mario is a loud, bawling baby!

Playing this game you act as the little green dinosaur known as Yoshi and all his multi-colored friends (all known as Yoshis) as they carry Mario throughout  "Yoshi's Island" to find and rescue his little baby twin brother Luigi. Luigi was kidnapped from the poor stork who was carrying the twins to their parents. Fortunately, Mario was dropped and landed on Yoshi's back when Luigi was snatched by the evil Magicoopa named Kamek (creepy lil booger). As each of the cute dinosaurs take their turns carrying Yoshi through the various parts of the Island, they are stalked and harassed by  Kamek's goofy minions (called Toadies) who will capture baby Mario when he is dropped or snatched away as Yoshi is attacked or gets hurt (this is when the bawling happens).

As for ratings, I rate the GRAPHICS a 10 because out of all the SNES games I've played, the visual in this game is the best. It is a 2D game but you often get a 3D feel as some things move and happen in game play more than from other Mario SNES games, like the rotating wooden planks. This game has really great visual; there is stuff moving around in the background and everywhere; you really get the feeling that the environment is alive. The SOUND is an 8 because the sound affects are pretty adorable and the music varies, is catchy and bright, and is sometimes really dramatic. But at times, the sounds and music can really get stuck in your head. That is annoying. If you play this game for long hours, get ready to hear trumpet music all da... Read the rest of this Review
Yu-Gi-Oh! - The Eternal Duelist Soul

Eternal Duelist Soul
I play this video game on my Gameboy Advanced regularly. To me, it is a card game like poker only better. Yu-Gi-oh was very popular back about a decade and everyone was collecting cards. What I enjoy most about it is the strategy that is necessary to win, building a solid deck and the vast number of cards to choose from. This game was created towards the beginning of the anime and has only the classic cards, but in my opinion, it the best of all the Yu-Gi-oh Gameboy games I've played.

I rate the graphics a 8 because though you don't get to see the graphics of the monsters summoned like in the anime, but the cards are replicated nicely and you do see what is going on on the field as you play, like when a monster is summoned you see the little tornado to indicate the summon. The visual is very clear and easy to understand.

The sound gets an 8. I like how the sound effects are accurate and clear throughout the game. There's sound for everything that happens in game play so if things are moving a bit fast visually, you will be able to get what is happening by sound. I also enjoy the music. Somehow the music is relaxing and winds me down.

As for addictiveness, I rate 9. If you really enjoy card games and/or if you like the Yu-Gi-oh anime, you will likely play this game over and over again. For me it has become a habit.

This game gets a 7 for story because it is mainly working towards obtaining all cards. After you win all the tournaments and obtain all the cards there is really no more story in the game.

I rate the depth a 7 because though it takes a while to win all the cards and build a strong deck, after you do, the fun is mostly gone and you want to start over again.

The difficulty of this game is around 7 because unless you cheat and turn off the game or reset when you are about to lose, you will lose a lot. Many of the duelists are pretty tough after the first group until you can strengthen up your deck.Read the rest of this Review
Beavis and Butt-head

B & B
How many times did my sis and I get in trouble for getting caught with the old tv remote watching Beavis and Butthead. When we got older, though, they allowed us to buy the video game on Super Nintendo. Good thing they never actually sat and watch us play the game! We would argue over who got to be Butthead since he could throw Beavis, which was too hilarious because we would always throw each other into harms way.

I give the game an overall rating of 8.9 because it's humorous and very enjoyable.. I think with the graphics, music, sound, and story all came together nicely.

The graphics I rate 7 because many other SNES games have better visual, and to me the faces seem a bit off, but in an odd way, that makes them a little more humorous.

The sound I give a 9 because I found the music and more so the sound effects were original and didn't drown out the character of the game. It isn't what you would expect, but it flows with original character of the show. (The sound effects stick with you a long while.)

For the addictiveness, I rate 7 because this is a game when you start it, you want to go through until the ending, but after you beat it, you are pretty much ready to move on to the next game. I have played it many times, but those times were spaced apart by years.

I found the story the story to be a bit lame, so I gave a 7. I enjoyed the path of each Channel in the game, but I think that it could have been brought together a little more, better than they were just going from one place to another to get cash for the Gwar concert. There are some mini games within the game that are fun, though. I think there should have been more of those throughout.

There isn't that much depth. I rate It's depth a 6 because you do have to go through a few stages to win the game, but once you get the hang of the game, you can run through it really quickly.

And as or difficulty, I rate 6. As I mentioned above, once you g... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Fire Red!
I absolutely loved this game as a young teen-aged girl! So many memories flood back while I play this game. I never got to "catch 'em all" since I was unfortunately unable to find anybody with the Leaf Green version to trade with me, but none the less, this game is in my top 10 favorites.

There is so much depth in the story it is easy to get lost in the mysteries world of Pokémon, and the traveling around the Kanto region makes you feel like you are on a real adventure. You are ever too old to enjoy Pokémon games!!!

I learned this trick to make a lot of cash pretty fast and to also get a lot of free items: Capture five Meowths when you get the chance, and while leveling up one of your Pokémon in first position, check the Meowths from time to time and they should pick up an item every now and then after some of the battles you and the Pokémon you are leveling up have won. They sometimes pick up rare candies, too, which I think is really awesome! You can even win a bunch of cash by having a Meowth use the "Pay Day" attack continuously in a battle with Pokémon. It is even better if you are battling with another trainer since you will get to use the attack more than you would be able to attack while fighting a weaker wild Pokémon. A trainer who uses a lot of potions would be a good person to battle with and earn more money using the Pay Day attack. If you are planning to use Meowths this way, you want to make sure that they Don't evolve into Persian because they will lose Their Pick Up ability after evolving.

Berries can help you in a pinch, so be sure the save some up and give them to your Pokémon who aren't holding other important items. So many times have my Pokémon almost fainted but survived because they ate a Sitrus berry at the last minute. It is always a good idea to plan before battles. Say if you are about to challenge a gym leader or another trainer whose Pokémon causes a status ail... Read the rest of this Review
