While in Desertland, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool see something unusual exit a warp zone. It's a pizza delivery man and his gondola from Venice, Italy. On top of that, he is fearful of a sea monster lurking in the waters of his home. Feeling an unexplainable connection to Venice, Mario and Luigi set out to investigate – finding the supposed sea monster is the Doomsub with King Koopa and Kootie Pie at the wheel. It turns out that Kootie Pie wants a water park of her very own and Venice will be it once every human is scared away.
