Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 05-20-13 09:23 AM |
ULTIMATE epic win! Hello everyone! This is MitsuriZX, and after my long, painful hiatus, i'm finally back to tell you all about one of the greatest fighting game of all times... Mortal Kombat! And this time, we're talking about the expansion to Mortal Kombat 3, ULTIMATE Mortal Kombat 3! Lucas and Luisa are on vacation, so it's up to me to review this game! Let's do it! At first, when you look at Mortal Kombat III, it just seems like a regular fighting game with it's trends and whatnot, but after the release of ULTIMATE Mortal Kombat 3, sales did rise through the roof, and that's because that game is the ULTIMATE Mortal Kombat expansion! Expect lots of characters, stages, and new moves! The objective of each fight is to empty your opponent's life bar by delivering punches, kicks, pokes to the eye, knees to the groin, and so on. What makes Mortal Kombat a different game is that specials can and MUST be spammed as much as possible (in a strategic way, of course) so that your victory becomes easier. Almost all characters play the same when it comes to normal moves, but each one has different combos and special moves. When your opponent's life bar has reached 0, that's when you'll be asked to "finish him/her!", and here comes the most interesting part of Mortal Kombat games, the Fatalities. They are gruesome, full-carnage finishers which completely obliterates anyone in your way in the most humiliating of ways. They're not easy to perform, but it sure is fun to see someone getting crushed by a giant arcade machine. But this game goes much far than just Fatalities, you also have Brutalities, Animalities, Babality, and Friendship... Friendship, again? Well, sometimes you're just not up to so much violence... so you can also finish your opponent in the most hilarious of ways! Of course, it goes without saying that these are unavoidable once you have your health bar beat to a bloody pulp, so be sure you're the one "finishing" and not the "finished" ... Star Wars Arcade 03-27-13 01:31 PM |
I believe I can fly... Welcome citizens of Vizzed! I'm MitsuriZX, and now we're going to delve into the world of arcade games... a world where anything is possible, everyone is happy and everybody plays to their heart content... and there's nothing more deep than space itself! It's time for Star Wars Arcade for the Sega 32X! Unfortunately, my friends Luisa and Lucas are nowhere to be found, but that's not a big deal. Seems like this time i'll be reviewing alone... in space. When it comes to graphics, Star Wars Arcade is eye candy. Everything looks nicely detailed, and although the game is slow-paced, the framerate is actually really good. It reminds-me of Star Wars : Shadows of the Empire for the N64, and that game had some impressive graphics during the space stages. The soundtrack is a bit repetitive, and the sound effects are simple, but it delivers the sensation of battling in space in every way possible. But we are missing the most important part here... the gameplay. So let's get to it. You have two game modes, the Super 32X mode, which pits you agaisn't the forces of Darth Vader in a never-ending battle between good and evil, and the Arcade mode, where it tries to re-arrange the game to play as much possible as the original game made for Arcades. The Super 32X mode is composed of missions, alas, the Arcade mode is also composed of missions, but i have this impression that the Suoer 32X mode has more missions. Surprisingly, the Arcade mode has two sub-modes that you can choose. The first one is the real deal, where you put your gamer skills to the test, and the second mode could be called the Easy mode of this game, since enemies seem like they aren't even trying. The Arcade mode seems much more impressive than the Super 32X mode. They should call that the 32X mode and this the Super Arcade mode instead. The objective overall is to get the highest score you can get. You can also play with two p... Read the rest of this Review |
Virtua Racing Deluxe 03-23-13 10:55 AM |
Get Goal! Hello citizens of Vizzed! It's time to speed up things and best your best times, because Virtua Racing Deluxe is coming up! And now, applauses for Luisa and Lucas! Luisa : - Hi everyone! Lucas : - What's up? Virtua Racing Deluxe is a delight to play, it's a wonderful game that should be played by anyone. You know why? There are a few reasons... Firstly, the game has the most advanced graphics i've ever seen on the Sega 32X. Secondly, the soundtrack is exciting and makes you feel like you're actually playing somenthing challenging! Thirdly...more content! As you have noticed, this is the Deluxe version of the game. Luisa : - We have the main mode, which allows you to play the game just like it was meant to be, and we have Time Trials for those hardcore players out there who want to be the best! Lucas : - I usually tend to play Virtua Racing with friends, the 2-player mode is a must-play for all Virtua Racing fans! The main objective of the main mode is to get to finish 5 laps while slowly trying to get yourself in 1st place position. Of course, you can't be a slowpoke and take too long to do that, there is a time limit! This is what Checkpoints are for. Each time you pass through a checkpoint, your time limit extends. As long as you keep speeding, you won't have to worry about this. Luisa : - You can change your car view to various different views. I personally prefer the cockpit view. Lucas : - Here's an advice! If you keep turning for too long, your car will spin around. To avoid this, make sure you maintain slower speeds during corners. This is not Sonic the Hedgehog you know... There is not much else to say about this game. The controls are easy to learn and master, and the challenge this game gives you is just the right amount. Highly recommended to all players, even those who don't play racing games. Thanks for reading the review! I'm sad to say this... Read the rest of this Review |
Advance Guardian Heroes 03-21-13 02:52 PM |
I won't let you advance, heroes! Welcome citizens of vizzed! Today we tackle Advance Guardian Heroes in all it's awesomeness and overkillness! Here by my side are my trusty sidekicks, Luisa and Lucas! Luisa : - Hi everyone! Lucas : What's up? Advance Guardian Heroes is a sequel to the legendary and underrated gem called Guardian Heroes for the Sega Saturn, produced by Treasure, which is in fact a Beat'em'up. Unlike other Beat'em'ups, you can level-up and acquire stronger moves. Attacks include flying kicks, thunder storms, super speedy punches... everything you would expect from Treasure! Luisa : - You start with only three characters, but you can unlock more by donating crystals to the laboratory! Lucas : - The amount of characters is impressive! Over 9000! Nah, just kidding, more than 20! You can also play the story with a friend, for the sake of old- co-op goodness. But, you can also play versus with your friends to see who's the best player ever! After you finish a mission, you get the chance to upgrade your stats using Crystals! Make sure you use this feature to the fullest, because you won't be able to increase your character's stats between stages, only between missions. The story of the game goes more or less like this... do you remember that sneaky villain from the first game? That one that acts like he's all mighty, but actually acts like a sissy. Well, he's up to no good. Turns out he wasn't dead, and now guess what, he wants to RUUUULE the world! (No surprise there to be honest.) Luisa : - During your missions, you will find the original guardian heroes which, upon defeat, will aid you in your quest by upgrading your stats and making you more powerful! Lucas : - Some guardian heroes are vulnerable to magic! Use your L button to change your spells and press R + B to use them! I'ma fairin ma lasar! BAAAM! The graphics of the game are astounishing. It's not 3D, but they've used it in ... Read the rest of this Review |
Contra 03-20-13 08:54 AM |
Die evil soldiers, Die! Hello citizens of Vizzed! It's time for another review by yours truly, the great MitsuriZX! This time we are reviewing a game that is pure action! Even the most hardcore fans will find themselves coming back to play this old gem! Contra Operation C! Here we have Luisa and Lucas, who always help-me out! Luisa : Hi everyone! Lucas : What's up? Contra is a side-scrolling platformer with a lot of focus on shooting. Initially launched for the arcades, it found it's way into home consoles such as the NES, Genesis and SNES. There are a few other Contra games for the Game Boy, but this one just makes-me happy. It takes the Contra formula of killing hundreds of enemies into portability, so you can play this anywhere and anytime you want! Luisa : - In the manual, it says Contra is "a title awarded to a superior soldier possessing almost super human drive and ability, while excelling in guerrilla tactics". Lucas : - No kidding, you will really need some skills to beat this game! Try to rack up lots of extra lifes by killing enemies where they re-spawn! Ok, let's get to the gameplay. You have a jump button and a shoot button. And a pause button! But i don't think anyone ever uses that. You can aim in various directions by using the directionals buttons. By holding down, you will lie down, allowing you to shoot enemies that are small. It may even have other uses, too. Luisa : - Remember to pick power-ups! Spread Shot is useful for killing lots of enemies at once, Homing Shot almost never misses. Fire Shot is useful for killing tough enemies. Lucas : - If you pick a Spread Shot and then another Spread Shot, you'll get the killer Spread Shot that shoots 5 shots at once! You have 5 stages to finish. When you start the game, you're taken to the stage select, so you can always start from any stage you want, except stage 5, you can only play that stage by finishing stage 4. S...
