Review
Graphics: For the most part the graphics are fine but there is a problem with how the main characters sprite is constantly flashing and changing colors as you walk. While it is a bit neat it can get annoying, especially when the character turns into a green sprite at times. Pretty basic graphics but enjoyable.7
Sound: The sound is pretty much the standard fare for pokemon games, which was kind of disappointing since the developed plot could do with some better music to accompany events. I gave sound a five because it wasn't particularly good, but it wasn't awful either.
Addictiveness: The game is rather addictive with more plot events than a normal game and with one of the most interesting ways of getting a starter pokemon. While playing I really wanted to find out what happens next in the plot. Sadly, being a beta it isn't complete and ends rather abruptly in the game. The events can be slightly typical in some cases but how to go about figuring out what to do next can a bit of a challenge and very fun. I have no doubt that if the game were to be completed that it would be even more addictive since the story would continue on. 8
Story: Like I stared earlier the game's plot is addictive and draws the player in. The events are unique for a pokemon game and even for a hack version. The few events that do occur are well scripted, despite some grammar issues, and makes it frustrating not knowing what will come next, if the game is ever to be completed. While there are some discrepancies in the plot the player can easily see that a good attempt at a proper plot was made without trying to just cannibalize common and overused plots of most of the other games. The only reason why the game isn't scored as a ten is that the game doesn't progress far enough to get a complete grasp on the plot the developer created within the hack. 9
Depth & Difficulty: I gave both depth and difficulty a four as them seem closely related. As a beta the gam... Read the rest of this Review
