Shadowgate This game has introduced me to a new genre, aka interactive genre (or point and click genre).....it's amazing that I never knew that this genre exists for over 15 years!!! Btw, in case you didn't know, there is a new shadowgate coming on steam.

Cadash

No wonder it is considered "The Arcade Hit!"
Cadash is an arcade game that combines both platform and RPG elements (although to me it looks more like Action-Adventure and RPG style), and the company that made it decides to be nice and make some port to other consoles, and this port is the Turbografx one.

While checking the list of Turbografx 16 games, I came upon this game, and I said to myself: "The cover paint looks cool but the name kinda looks awkward, let's check an article about it and see what they say about this game", and so I did....and the article praised the game and its features a lot, so I decided to give the game a try....and yes...it was great.

Now when you start the game, you will first choose between four classes: Fighter, Ninja, Priest, Mage (some say that Fighter is the hardest class to play due to the fact that there are some enemies that you need to get close to as a Fighter and at the same time, they have a powerful melee attack), oh...and guess what? This game supports up to 2 players! So have fun messing with the possible combinations.

Anyway, you start at the castle in front of the king who requested your assistance and tells you that his daughter was kidnapped by Balrog (or Baarogue) and wants you to rescue her, so you get out of the castle and shop for weapons and ar......errr, I mean.....there's no shop outside the castle so you have only one choice here, proceed to the nearby cave, and yes....if you have to keep going forward because there's nothing that can restore your health back in the castle if you got back and want to find a way to heal yourself. However, once you do finish the first stage, you'll come across a town so you can finally rest at Inn and shop for weapons, armor and items....and begin your grinding period if you want to.

Did I mention that you can level up? Yes you can, and from what I noticed when leveling up, your HP, Strengh, Defense (actually AC, but it doesn't matter), Agility increases. And if you were a Mage or a Priest,... Read the rest of this Review
Wizardry Gaiden (english translation)

A great beginning for the gaiden series
First, I would like to thank the team who made the translation for this game, and thank them again for making a description for spells, items.

Now let's begin:

Wizardry Gaiden: Suffering of the Queen is the first installment to the Japanese gaiden series, the whole gameplay mechanics and concept is based on the famous Wizardry in USA around the 80s (and now....ironically....only famous in Japan....if not only known).

When I first saw it, I said: "Pffft, it will be the same as Wizardry: The Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord except they'll change mess a little with the mazes and change the main villain", in short....a direct port with little to no effort in modifying. When the translation team released I had an urge to test it and see if it's worth playing, so I downloaded the patch and played the game and.......turns out I was wrong......so wrong that I had to completely take back what I said about it.

The first thing I noticed was the graphics, sure the town may look like a mini board game and the dungeon's graphics is ok to me, but the monsters' sprites are great, even superior to Wizardry NES ports. And the cutsences (or rather still images) are gorgeous, it's so detailed for a gameboy game, and it look like a scene from an anime. As for the sound effects, I'll be honest....it gets really irritating after some time, but the music seems to do the opposite of that.

The plot in this game is the same as the same as the original with a few tweaks here and there but it's still stands.

The gameplay in wizardry is different than any RPG game you have ever played (or at least different from the modern RPGs), first you create some characters (as many as you like...as long there is enough slot) and choose their race, alignment, and class. Class is the most important one in my opinion as it determine your characters' advantages and disadvantages. After that you form a party from 1 to 6 then venture into the dungeons (if ... Saldek's guide to Shadowgate
First of all, I'm kinda surprised that although many people in vizzed board knows about shadowgate (ok...not THAT many), there hasn't been any walkthrough for it yet, so I decided to fill up the missing space here....anyway let's begin:

********************************************************************************************************************************************************

Contents of the guide:

1- What is shadowgate?
2- Tips
3- Fake FAQ (yes, it lists the questions that I predict your going to ask....so it isn't accurate)
4- If all else fails, the walkthrough

* 1- What is Shadowgate? *

Shadowgate is a point-and-click game developed by ICOM Simulations, Inc , it was first ?made for Apple Macintosh in 1987, it released several ports....and probably the best of them is the NES port (well in my opinion anyway).

If you want a quick tour/sentence that summarizes this game, well let's say......you open a door and a monster jumps out and kill you then you get a gameover......ok ok, it isn't that trollish, but it's accurate to say that the game doesn't tells you what to do and rarely warns you of anything ahead, that being said it isn't surprising that you die every so often, in fact....you can die in several hilarious ways, and some that made me laugh hard, and that my friends.......is why I like Shadowgate in the first place.....and why it is so popular.

Now before you advance any further, I want you to at least try it....because half of the fun in the is that you do things that you... Read the rest of this Guide
