Golden Sun

Linkshade's Opinion 7: Golden Sun
The Game Boy Advance was the first Nintendo 32-bit portable console, selling 81.48 million units as of June 30th, 2009. At its time, it was considered to be one of the most advanced portable consoles of its time. When we think of Nintendo, we think of the usual: Mario, Metroid, Zelda, etc.; but when we think of GBA, we think of these things, and a popular role-playing game that stole our hearts. I am Linkshade 121, and this my opinion of one of the most critically acclaimed titles on the GBA: Golden Sun.
Graphics-10
Unlike most games from the GBA, Golden Sun was unique in the way that it was one of the only games on the GBA to have 3-Dimensional graphics, or at least try too. It isn't true 3-Dimensional so to speak, but a panoramic battle stage and tipped over world to make it look like a rendered 3rd Dimensional perspective, while also balancing 2-Dimensional Dungeons and towns. The animations in this game made even the final fantasy GBA games make a run for their money. The battle animations are pretty top notch as to saying they look more realistic, well made, and rendered. You will be loving the many Psynergy Spells that look pretty good in a 3-Dimensional panoramic view, coming down on the enemy faster and more fluent than a bolt of lightning. It is once again better than Final Fantasy's 2-dimensional battle view.
Sound-10
This game had one of the most catchy soundtracks I'd ever listened to. This game knows the right music for every place, situation, it was totally perfect, nothing out of place. A village of peaceful adepts known as Vale, right sort of music. The Sol Sanctum, mysterious and cool song that was perfect for that kind of atmosphere. Awesome battle themes against main antagonists, great tempo changes and a nice beat. There was no flaws when it came to this soundtrack.
Addictiveness-6   This game was not really that addicting as in I would play it 10 hours a ... Read the rest of this Review
Fire Emblem Gaiden (English by J2e Translations)

Linkshade's Opinion 6: Fire Emblem Gaiden
After suffering from laziness, I am back and with a review that could be the best one yet. Over the course of a few months, I became this crazed Fire Emblem fan. Frankly, I am shocked most people don't even bother with the games. Once it drives you in with the challenge of not having a single character die, having you restart the chapter all over again, you get gradually sucked in and addicted. That was the point of fire emblem games, chess with rpg elements spread throughout. The first Fire Emblem: Dark Dragon & The Sword of Light, it had a wide reception in Japan, they made a sequel, Fire Emblem Gaiden, which is what I am reviewing today.
Graphics-8
The graphics of that game were that to be expected of a Fire Emblem NES game. We have our battle animations even then, were good for its time. Most animations don't even come close, not even Ryu Hayabusa's jumps could compare to some of the animations in that game. The maps of which we traversed were just fine, they looked like they did a good job. Of course some of the graphics don't make the cut. The face portraits were very bad for the most part. One of the characters have the nerve to keep sticking his tongue out at me, and Celica's portrait looks like the face of a little child, Celica is older than that.
Sound-9
The sound, even though it was 8-bit, was addicting  and you end up humming to yourself all the time. Some of this game's music was also on later titles, further proving this music was addicting. In fact, it outdid it's predecessor by a long shot in my opinion. In the original Fire Emblem, you had the same map theme until the last chapter, getting very annoying at times. Fire Emblem Gaiden's music had more variety, and I always love a game with a good soundtrack, believe it or not. Of course when I put a 9 though, there has to be something wrong, right? Some games had a bit more instrumental music than Fire Emblem's. Take Mega Man's music, it ... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time

Linkshade's Opinion 5
Once again, here is another review from me, Linkshade 121. I will be reviewing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This game was the first 3-dimensional game in the Zelda Series, setting a reputation for it in the years to come. This was the best Zelda game I ever played from the N64 era so I might as well review it. Okay, Let's get started.
Graphics-10
What can I say, this game is really good quality. Actually seeing Link make a real sword slash, I am saying I might never go back to 2D games. If you knew me, I am a medieval maniac who is a big nerd when it comes to this stuff and with good graphics like these, I am able to perform new sword techniques. It's not just Link's attacks, but also Ganondorf's. Now I know what your thinking, why would Like his attacks even though he is an evil tyrant who nothing to do but kidnap maidens? I just like the animation, I never said I liked his style of doing things. Okay, I think I spent to much time, let's move on.
Sound-10
Really good quality music I hear from this. It sounds like Wii quality music and I am not just saying this to trick you into playing the game, why would I do that? It sounds just like it could have been done for a present day system (hint. First glasses free 3d game system). Like I said in the last review, you may have a different opinion when it comes to this stuff. So really, I would just give it a ten.
Addictiveness-10
Your soul desire to save the sages, solve puzzles, and face lots of monsters make this game really addicting. Whenever I finish the game, I started all over again. I think this may be the 5th time I restarted my game. I don't know what it is, but maybe it is the living super gamer inside of me that wants to be the best of all time. That's why I would say this is a game I will never stop playing, and that's saying a lot.
Story-10
There are two story arcs in this game. One arc is when to collec... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario Bros 3

Linkshade's Opinion 4
Hello Gamers, this another Linkshade's Opinion. I review a classic, Super Mario Bros 3, the first Mario game to have a world map. Also the first game with animal based power ups, like the tanooki leaf, which gives him a suit that is based off of a raccoon. So let's break down the game and give it an opinion.
Graphics-8
For a Nintendo entertainment system game, this game has better graphics than regular NES game. The sprite of the original Mario, has less pixels when the Mario in this game is more structured. Even the Levels have better graphics than the original. In the original, most of the game was designed using square blocks like the "?" block while the "?" had curved corners. Even though this game is great in all, every game still has something it can do better, the reason I lowered graphics rating to 8.
Sound-8
Most 8-bit music I heard I noticed something, It hardly has a beat but this game beat his standard of mine. Even though this isn't the futuristic music of MEGA MAN, this music has a beat. Some noises in the music were sort of the equivalent to percussion. I would know, because the MEGA MAN music has a lot of it. The music from the Mega Man games is kind of the reason I force myself to give the sound a rating of 8 more than a perfect 10. Sorry Super Mario Brothers 3.
   Addictiveness-10
Unlike most NES games I played, this game is very addictive. Unlike previous Mario games where you have to Complete the game before you can replay a level that is more challenging, you can replay a level anytime. You can also save the game so you may not have start all over again, which makes you a little bored every time you play. I got bored of the original Super Mario Bros after a week. Its because of these features this game is very addictive.
Story-6
There is a story in this game, just not a real good one. I seen far complex stories on other games like Fire Em... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda, The - The Minish Cap
06-02-13 10:00 PM
Linkshade's Opinion 3
Hello gamers, it is Linkshade 121 bringing you a review for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. As always, I will be using the same format. So let's go in depth and here it is:
Graphics-10
The graphics of this game looks great, better than any other Game Boy Advance game I ever played. It also has some good animation. I especially love the animation where Link is doing a great spin attack. In fact, I love all of his combat animations like the downward thrust to the dash attack. I can't really see any other GBA games with good graphics.
Sound-10   The music in this game happens to be quite catchy. I can't get vaati's tune out of my head after playing the game just once. It also has great remixes of classic tunes. Remember in link to the past where you have to rescue Princess Zelda from the dungeon in hyrule castle? Well at the top of Mt. Crenel, you will recognize an awesome remix a certain tune that was played in the game. Overall, best music I ever heard.
Addictiveness-10
It is extremely likely that I will play this game again. There is still many things to do even after completing the game like collecting every single figurine. Now why would you want to do that you might ask. Its because you unlock a music viewer and it is that addicting to finish and get everything like obtaining every piece of heart, perform all kinstone fusions possible, and again, all figurines. This shows you probably want to play this game all the time. And if finish, you can start again and have never ending fun, drawn into the game.
Story-10
The story in the game is a very legendary one which is why, by far, one of my most favorite ones in a Zelda game. Princess Zelda comes to take Link to the picori festival. When they go to Hyrule Castle,  the Victor of the sword tournament, releases evil onto Hyrule and turns Princess Zelda to stone. Link must find a way to break the curse. That story is good...
