Commando (World)

Impossible... Almost.
Yeah! I did it again!

Sorry. Just bragging about Commando, and insanely hard Arcade game developed by Capcom that I just beat... Wait a minute? My first duty? there are more "Dutys"? Well, Here I go.

Alright. That's Enough for me. This game is hard. I mean HARD! Close to impossible.

There is not to much history behind this game. I do find it close to other games I own for the NES like Jakal and Heavy Barrel.

When you insert your credit and start the game a helicopter will fly by dropping off a soldier. You take control of this soldier equipped with an SMG type firearm and some frag grenades. Your SMG has unlimited ammo while your frags are limited. When you shoot only about three bullets come out. You can rapidly tap attack to shoot multiple bullets. You can also throw frags by pressing the other attack button. When shooting you can aim in virtually 360 degrees. You can only shoot in the direction your standing which can get irritating having to run toward your enemies to shoot them. One thing that I find odd is I can not tell if touching the enemies kill you. Sometimes I die sometimes I don't. I't may be the enemies firing right when I touch them. Grenades are useful because you can throw them straight up no matter which way your facing. The grenade has a small area of effect and I mainly use it to attack enemies while running away. You can get more grenades by picking up these flashing boxes that are usually stacked in threes.

There are a lot of unique and awing details in levels that often get ignored due to the high amount of bullets on the screen. It's so crazy all you can think of is dodging. Nothing else but avoiding everything on the screen. It's pretty damn intense. The amount of bullets on the screen will force you to run in all directions. The problem with this as I mentioned before is you can only shoot the way your facing. Running away from enemy projectile while trying to kill them is a chall... Read the rest of this Review
Burger Time (Midway)

Hamburger?
What would you think when you see a game called "Hamburger"? Perhaps another crappy game with a title that has nothing relevant to the game? Maybe that is why when Midway was given permission to make cabinets in the US they changed the name to Burger Time? It's still a weird name but at least there is some "PIZAZZ" to it. It may be worth a try.

Now the game starts off with a board similar to Donkey Kong, That is if Mario had to dodge ingredients to a hamburger. There are ladders and platforms full of buns, lettuce, and pizza? Assuming that is a burger considering it's called Burger Time and not "Pizza Burger" time.

The goal is to make a burger by walking on all the ingredients to drop them down onto what I think is a plate. The other ingredient for each burger are on the platform above the last. Walking on one ingredient to drop it down while there is one below it will make it hit the one below it and stop, making the ingredient it hit fall down. This will keep going until an ingredient doesn't have one below it so if you walk over an ingredient right above the plate it would simply just, hit the plate.

Your best bet is to go to the top and walk over all of the ingredients on the top level than go down one level below and knock down those ingredients and so on.

While doing so you are chased by some very angry foods. Some hotdogs, eggs, and pickles go on a crazy rampage of touching you. Of course most golden age arcade games have the enemy only wanting to touch you but these foods seem really pissed for some reason. So pissed they want to touch you. Yeah! It's that bad. And when they do touch you, you start to freak out like crazy. You can stun the enemies with pepper and can collect more pepper by collecting bonus items like ice cream. You also can kill the enemies by dropping the ingredients while one is below it. The more enemies below the more points instead if just 500 each. However the enemies come back. You can a... Ms. Pac-Man

Ms. Pacman Arcade Review
Ms. Pac-Man is a remix of Pac-Man when originally Ms. Pac-Man was an upgrade kit for Pac-Man originally called "Crazy Otto" developed by GCC. GCC had a lawsuit against Atari for there Missile Command upgrade kit "Super Missile Command" and in the end GCC had to settle by not producing any upgrade kits without developer permission so GCC decided to show Midway the game. Midway bought the game and made a few changes to it. Changed the title to Ms. Pac-Man and wala!

Pac-Man is a maze game consisting of Pac-Man, and four ghosts. In every level the maze is full of dots that when touched with the front of Pac-Man disappear. Leaving only one answer. Pac-Man is consuming (narcotics... Anyone?) the dots. The four ghosts are Blinky the red ghost, Pinky the pink ghost, Inky the cynober/blue ghost, and Clyde the orange ghost. Blinky starts in the board while the rest are stuck in a box until you collect enough dots then they are released. Collide with a ghost and Pac-Man dies. At the four corners of every maze there are four big flashing dots called energizers (AKA Power Pelets/Pills) and when "consumed" temporarily turn all four ghosts into blue ghost and can be "consumed" them self. When they are eaten all that remains is a pair of eyes which travel back to the center to be "reincarnated". Clear every dot on the screen and advanced to the next level.

This is Ms. Pac-Man. I am assuming this is the wife of the [Narcotic] yellow little circle who can't get enough dots, so to speak.

Not to much has been changed here. Ms. Pac-Man is obviously in place of Pac-Man. The ghost move randomly unlike Pac-Man where people would memorize patterns to avoid death, making Ms. Pac-Man a bit more difficult.

On the side of the board there are usually four tunnels which lead to the other side. Unlike Pac-Man which had two. These tunnels also slow down enemies who travel through it until level three when enemies are no longer affected.

Sims 2, The

The Sim's on a GBA?
I have always wondered how a Sims game would be on a Game Boy Advance and lots of other people are probably wondering the same thing.

First, you create your character. Unlike other Sims, you are controlling the Sim, they aren't the CPU this time. You are a star of a Reality TV show where you travel to towns and set up pranks like alien invasions. You just moved to this town and start in the basement, your director talks through a speaker in your ear and tells you to go upstairs and introduce yourself to your neighbors and buy some furniture and stuff like that. The storyline is unrealistic for what it's trying to be but, can be easily ignored. At the end
of every episode, you can buy quite a bit of stuff, like a motorcycle, actions when socializing, or new plots for episodes. The storyline is great and very unique.

Gameplay is very much like any other Sim’s, Socialization is the main thing to do in all of the Sim’s. This Sim’s you run into problems during your plot such as one point you need to go to the bathroom but there’s a Martian sitting on your toilet and you have to yell and insult
him to scare him away. Other times you have to make friends with someone.

Controls are fine and you probably couldn’t improve of them.

Graphics are nice for a Game Boy Advanced game and animations are great. It’s kind of fuzzy but probably couldn’t be improved. Very colorful game but kind of tacky and overused colors.

You can buy items for your house during plots but I find your house always barren and a maze no matter how long you play. The furniture isn’t to great and they usually sell 4 furniture items per plot. I found Mostly showers.

You can hold items in your inventory and use them later in the game, like a shovel.

The game is C... Read the rest of this Review
Wild Gunman

Gun Slinging Cowboy
Everyone has dreamed of being a gun slinging cowboy. Wild gunman, an old classic, was part of a LightGun series. I think an amazing piece to the Nintendo. The LightGun can actually tell which color is in front of the gun. Sadly, there is no LightGun for the computer, and the LightGun doesn’t work on HD screens. Try it on the Nintendo with an SD TV for the most enjoyment.

There isn’t much explained in the game, but you can tell you’re a cowboy hunting outlaws. There are three options. 1 Outlaw, 2 Outlaws, and Gang. On the outlaws, you are facing 1-2 outlaws in a gun slinging contest, exciting I would say. When you get the signal, raise your gun and fire away, the faster you shoot, the bigger reward. Miss, or run out of time, the outlaws will shoot and you will lose a life. Watching what the outlaws do when you shoot them made me laugh but later get old. The game itself is entertaining forever.

In gang mode, there are outlaws popping in and out of the windows and doors of the saloon. This is a very fast paced mode of the game. I think this part of the game is great for getting your friends and having a high score contest. The contest wouldn’t last as long as a party game, but is really fun for an hour or so. But contests are just as fun the next day.

The graphics are great for a Nintendo game because you can actually tell what everything is and see what is going on. When Mario falls in Mario Bros. it’s kinda strange. When the poncho guy falls, It’s hilarious.

The sound, I thinks is all the same on every Nintendo game, so there’s no point in rating. I just wish the sound of your gun would sound more realistic.

Controls for the menu are sketchy but one you figure out how to work it with the LightGun, it makes you feel in charge with your sick gun ski... Read the rest of this Review
