Tekken
For many people, fighting and violence have been part of our lives throughout history; as far as back many of us can remember or as many of us can look up; "street fighting" as well as "martial arts" and other forms of combat have existed through our time. Fighting was always a way to "release" and "restore", but at the same time; it is also a way to stand up for what is right, yet while doing something wrong.

When it comes to games like this one, fighting is designed for those who have a purpose; those who have something important to say or do, but cannot solve it by normal means. Tekken is the game that started one of the biggest fighting definitions throughout our history, although there have been many "Beat 'Em Up" type of games before Tekken; this game is the one that made it all possible and doubled up the gaming generation tenfold.

This game has started a long history of pure butt-kicking fiesta, and whether you use it to have fun; or to release some built up anger, this game will be enjoyable no matter what. (Although the newer ones are much better for some, but these older ones are best for me).

Like I have said time and time again, many of the PSone games have always had that block-like look to them; having a very smooth but "Minecraft" looking appeal. In a way, these were the games that made it all possible; these were the games that said "You know what, let's try something different..." And since then, Tekken has been one of the best games to ever be created; and many of the characters exist in our future gaming generation of PS3 and Xbox 360. For many people, the graphics are like a delicate shape; combined with other delicate and smooth shapes to make a figure and a character that can knock you down to the ground in a single hit.

One of the most honorable reasons why this game is highly loved by many, generally dates back to the soundtracks that these games had. Each area had... Read the rest of this Review

Twisted Metal
Ah, the smell of burning cities... I mean, what? Sorry, I was getting carried away; maybe a little too much, would you agree? But anyways, so... Twisted Metal, the game that made "Death Race" possible; but in a sense, this game isn't about racing at all. Twisted Metal is the start of an amazing generation of head-to-head battle between two or more vehicles.

Each vehicle has it's own "special" quirks about it, and let's not forget; each character has a bit of a "story" and "personality" to them. Whether you are a deranged clown called "Sweet Tooth" or even an veteran cop called "Outlaw", there is so much to destroy... and so much blood to shed. Alright, alright; I'm getting a little too graphic,... geez, so much for violent content; let's just get on with the ratings.

Graphics - 8/10
With graphics much similar to "Driver" and "Resident Evil", Twisted Metal brings a new concept into the world... TOTAL. VEHICLE. DESTRUCTION! Like many of our older games, it is understandable that these games wouldn't exactly be "realistic", but believe me; with the way this game seems, it's really hard to care about it being "realistic". A game like this just screams "RELEASE THE RAGE!", and heck; you may even yell at your TV in absolute insane joy as you watch cars and buildings blow up, people splatter, and the world crush beneath your tires. Oh wow, I'm getting a little too insane again; I'm sorry, I can't help myself... this game just brings out the "smooth criminal" in me (Michael Jackson reference, don't be hatin'!) But no seriously, the graphics of this game are just utterly mind-blowing (and literally mind blowing, especially when your vehicle blows up).

Sound - 8/10
Don't you just love hearing the screams of people as they succumb to the forces of... well, not nature; but the forces of your vehicles. I mean seriously, if anything was "realistic" in this game; then the sounds of these games would have to be the most realistic nonetheless.... Read the rest of this Review
Rayman

Rayman
Man, times have changed since the last time I played "Rayman"; oh how I remember swaying back and forth to the beat, with my feet tapping on the floor. It's amazing now that I think about it, the one game that started it all; had become something bigger and more advanced over the years... sure, the newer game versions are fun and all; but believe me, if you want the real deal, then play the very first Rayman game ever.

This game is almost too good for words, and I have probably played it at least ten to thirty times over my lifespan of twenty years. One thing is certain, the moment that I got this game; I knew I was hooked. This game just brings so much creativity and silliness that it will leave you more and more amazed with each area you visit.

Graphics - 9/10
With amazing backgrounds resembling anything from jungle trees to even clouds with eyes, there is so much to see throughout this game. You have characters that look like they've been born on some other planet, you have bugs that just bug the heck out of you, and you even have music that is soothing to your ears, but deadly to your body. With all the strange and wondrous creations that Rayman has to offer, how could someone NOT enjoy this game? This game is especially adored and loved by children of the retro generation, and even for many of the adults; you just cannot help but have a smile on your face while playing the exciting adventures of Rayman.

Sound - 8/10
With a unique and rather outrageous soundtrack, you will have a wide range of ambient audio... from anything like Jazz to even music like Techno and Trance. Most of the audio composed on this game is designed to help you enjoy the level, and to get a wide feeling of it; with various sounds that make you feel like you're reading a comic book. Anything ranging from "BOINGS!" and "ZINGS!" to "BOOMS!" and "POPS!". A wide range of audio to keep the gamer listening, and you might just end up turning up your volume; ... Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider
Oh my god! If there was ever a game series that put me constantly on the edge (no literally, I was constantly on the edge), this would have to be it. The famous Lara Croft starting out her adventures in this beginning game of the entire Tomb Raider franchise.

Now, I don't know about the rest of you gamers; and I am sure many of you really enjoy your FPS (first person shooters), but being the way that this game is... it is a MUST HAVE! I mean, come on; this is freaking LARA CROFT, why wouldn't you want her?!?!

Okay, okay; I'm getting a little bit too excited here, but seriously... just thinking about this game is enough to make my blood boil and my body tingle. So, before I spasm and fall out of my seat; let me give you some reasons why you should jump out of your seat and buy this game RIGHT NOW!

Graphics - 8/10
Yes, I know; the graphics of this game are "blocky", kind of like playing an older version of Minecraft... isn't it? Well, there's a huge difference between Minecraft and Tomb Raider; this legendary game and game character has lasted throughout the ages, and has made its debut in many systems, even for Gamecube and GameBoy Color. A game like this has graphics that just scream "original", and makes you feel like you are really in the land of the lost, the land of the dead, or even underwater with the fish. With semi-realistic animation and personalities to each character, this game brings you one of the most exciting storylines and landscapes to ever be found.

Sound - 8/10
Ah, just think about this is making my body shiver. Now, when I was playing this game about five years ago; I couldn't help but be almost paranoid while playing it. With the endless sounds of nature and with the spine-tingling soundtrack that makes you want to run out of your room and away from the TV; you might just end up looking over your shoulder to see if there is a bear right behind you. With the sounds of nature being established into ... Read the rest of this Review
Cool Boarders

Cool Boarders
Hello Vizzed Community, CANVgamer here to bring you some "insight" into our older generation of video gaming... So if you are a fan of the "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" series, then I am sure this game may catch your attention once I am done explaining it out a bit.

When you look past all the "negative" parts of our older game systems and their games, you will then see the true beauty that each game had to offer us. Much like "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater", this game brings tricks, speed, and bails to the field; but the question behind all this is... "Should I play Cool Boarders or not?"

Graphics - 7/10
With standard block-like and somewhat pixilated graphics, it's really hard to determine if they are "reasonable" enough to be considered. Heck, even games like Super Mario Bros was a major hit in the past; so why should this be any different? Cool Boarders brings to the table a whole new concept of what it means to go snowboarding, and with the "basic" graphics to throw you off; you never fully know when you just might go head first into the nearest tree. Besides the fact that many of these older games had graphics that weren't as "smooth" or as "defined" as many of the newer games, does not change the fact that this was one of the top selling games for the Playstation. With somewhat realistic-like sounds and a unique gaming soundtrack, you may just end up attached to this game for life; and may I remind you, this game is the perfect way to "chill out".

Sound - 6/10
As I have said above, the audio soundtrack to this game brings a whole new concept to the field of play. Unlike "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater", this game does not include well known artists such as Green Day or even MC Hammer, but this soundtrack goes cold. With a more "soundscape" and "ambient" feel to it, you are drawn into the sensations of the sound of the snow itself, the wind, the cheering and the avalanches.

Addictiveness -  6/10
Both this game and "Tony Hawk's P... Read the rest of this Review
