THE 3 STOOGES   rebelyell
                                                                                         THE THREE STOOGES
GRAPHICS; I rated the graphics a 7 even for a Nintendo game. I thought they could have been a little better. But if you seen the show you'll know who each person is suppose to be.
SOUND: I rated the sound a 7 also even know it plays all the music on the game is right from the show. I felt like it was missing some thing. And I just couldn't put my finger on what it was. But that being said I do love the slap and punching sounds.
ADDICTIVENESS: I RATED THIS A 8 I found myself losing hours and enjoying it. Once you start you just wanna play all the mini games they have which are fun.
STORY: The story is right off one of the many miss adventures from the movies and weekly show they used to do. Basically your trying to save a oprahage from being shut down by the evil landlord. And you take on all these crazy jobs to do so. Your time is limited so try and make the money quick as you can.
Depth: I gave it 7 Just because of all the fun mini games they offer.
DIFFICULTY: Ok the rating is a 8. It is hard to make the money on the time limit. And some of the games are hard to play control wise and just to play.

The three stooges Nes review   SuperCrash64

introduction The three stooges was originally a game for a early gaming pc by the name of the amgia . It was deveploed by Cinema ware and Activison . For most of you that did not know the amgia was a mid 80s computer at the time  that's prop bally why most of you people don't know what it is .  Anyways Cine am aware and Activison for some reason remade the game on other systems such as the apple 2 PlayStation game boy advance and the Nintendo nes system . This game was mainly based off of the original black and white Three Stooges  series . Anyways this is the Nintendo Entertainment system port I'm reviewing

Plot Well activison made the awful ghost busters 1 for nes  So They made the intro starting off With The Ghost busters 2 logo  then Curly Moe and Larry show up saying Hey fellas were in the wrong game . Then Larry said hey this looks like a kids game, Then ending off with  Moe saying you Imbeciles then slapping  Larry and Curly they said ow . Then after 10 seconds They get back in the Right game with the Three stooges intro from the original Three Stooges series . There was a walking part of the intro showing the deveploers of the game and Easter eggs.        But that got removed do to hardware limitations on the nes system. So it shows A guy laughing at the orphanage . And a old lady of the orphanage that was crying . The Three Stooges walk by and say. whats the matter lady ? . The lady said that our orphanage house needs repairs and we do not have any money. The lady also said that To make things worse  if they don't pay a rent of 5000 dollars in 30 days they will lose everything aka meaning that the orphanage will get shut down or taken away. So the Three Stooges said don't worry lady well get the dough. So the main objective of the game is to collect enough money by playing mini games similar to the build up of Mario party although that is a different game . And not to mention this game is older. If you collect more than 5000 for the rent you can get some special parts of the endings. I'm not really sure if that's available  for the nes version because I never made it past 5000 .

Graphics Again the nes was a very powerful system  these graphics are good and well detailed if you cant tell what there based on its not only the original black and white films . its also based on the original amgia game.  the graphics are some what bad  some places have not got full texture in it . This was one of the main games that deveploers really pushed the limitations of a console . And the sprites are a little grainy. Graphics gets a 8 these  graphics on screen are not bad considering the aspects of the nes system.

Before I get to sound I will explain the game play for some of those wondering how is the game played .

How to get started on mini games  you need to press the A button At Moe,s hand cursor  at the right time depending on what mini game is available or which one you wanna play. You will get various money depending on how well you did on the mini games. The results of the money come after you finish the mini games . Note there are Some mini games that will make you do some mutiltask in order to complete it.

Sound  ok I never watched the original three stooges films but I have heard of them . The Sound of the nes is lacking mutiple voices of The three Stooges. You hardly  hear most of the Three Stooges in most of the game. Soundtrack again I'm not sure if this is based of the original black and white Three Stooges films. Its missing most of the amgia s original soundtrack. There are only about 6  songs or themes in the Entire game. 1 being the made fun of Ghost busters logo also that's  the banker theme. 2 The theme after you select a mini game . 3 a song that loops over and over again I'm not sure what that ones supposed to be. 4 the Boxing mini game theme. 5 the Three stooges Cover art intro . 6 the little money jingle that happens after a mini game is completed. Sound gets a 6 really missing a lot of stuff that was in the amgia version of the three stooges.

Addictiveness  Although there is some flaws with this port I still happen to really enjoy the new challenge of the mini games with that alone makes the game addicting. Addictiveness gets 7 I really happen to enjoy the wacky mini games and challenge of them .

Story I explained it in plot  the story was kind of sad.but its really a okay part of the game . Story gets a 5 its a not a really good  story although it,s a little sad.and dramatic

Depth if you wanna beat the entire game. Or collect a whole lot of money. The three stooges and with the mutiltask mini games will take a while to master . The mini games alone makes this game take a while ,Depth gets a 7

Difficulty Prop bally the biggest thing people complain about this game. The Mutil tasking mini games are  really hard to master at. This stomped me like a wall do to the mutil tasking in games like the pie and pizza fight. And the cracker contest. Difficulty gets a 7 really hard game.

If you are wondering what the cracker contest . Is its a contest were you don't eat a cracker like the round shape kind. You eat a soup called cracker.

Anyways Its still a pretty nice game to play  The three stooges nes game is hard . If its too hard for you I can recommend you play the gba version . I still happened to really like this one final ratings 7.5 not a bad game

Note the only reason I explained what the amgia was because if some people wanna know about it.

One of the weirdest things to bring to the NES   endings
Hey!
One thing I think modern games miss out on is the wackiness factor. Growing up I think the Playstation(1) was the last console to just go gonzo with the amount of weird games. And thats what this game is, the glorious NES, Three Stooges. What a bizarre game! Its kind of like Mario Party.. its a bunch of minigames and a .. sort of board to travel on.
The plot is simple, the comedy trio are trying to save an orphanage. They need to make $$$ in 30 days, fast! Thats where the minigames come in, a bunch of odd jobs (literally) that I believe are based off some of their films ( I know the pie fight was one). Each job makes money a different way, and the real idea is to find the 'job' you are best at, and play that as much as possible to make money. Ah! But its not so simple, thanks to the weekly board! You control a hand that moves across a series of cards on the screen, and that is what your adventure is that day. There are jobs, random encounters, and penalties. The longer you play, the faster the hand gets. A mousetrap is one of the worst things to land on, as it takes a finger from your hand!! Yikes!!! Miss all your fingers and its game over! Savage!
Some of the random things you can do:
The boxing trophy - No, you don't control the guy in the ring, who seems to be pummeled by a giant.. hand? Your goal is to do the platformer running below, and get to the violin at the end---and then run back before the timer is over. The scene is 3d, so you have to dodge ladders and hydrants and such as you run. Its not too hard, but it only makes a fixed amount of money.
The oyster trophy - its an eating contest. Of course the fat guy is going to do it, because stereotypes. you play as Curly, who has to eat the crackers out of a (seemingly giant) bowl of soup. There are oysters in the soup, and they will pop up to try and steal the crackers. The game is actually over when you run out of crackers. Honestly, this is my worst game. Its because this was clearly meant for PC controls, and the spoon is big and slow, covering part of the screen. As the oysters eat the crackers, you are shown a funny image of Curly getting frustrated. And you will see it way too many times. Annoying.
Help Wanted: Doctors - This isn't too hard, and again its speed based. You follow a gurney cart without running into the patients. Just do the best you can to follow right behind it. I don't worry about the little crosses that are bonus money, they just tempt you to go off path. If you're fast and don't hit anyone, its decent money.
Help Wanted: Waiters - This was actually my favorite of the games. You control a stooge to duck with presses of the D pad, and pushing a button causes them to grab a pie, and throw it at the rich people on the other side. The goal is to throw all your pies and hopefully hit them for more money. If your stooges get hit several times, game over. The controls are what make this a chore. Ducking and throwing at the same time are OK, but not great, since you control all 3 stooges at the same time. The worst part is telling them to duck, which they usually do one at a time, and if 2 enemy pies are thrown at the same time, its actually really hard to not get one Stooge hit.
the $ sign - You get a random amount of money. There's no minigame. You just literally walk into a bag of money. The good, it could be high. The bad, it could be not much money at all. But its better than a mousetrap or something.
Trivia -- This is probably one of the worst things to pick, as its about things 95% of the population won't know. Its multiple choice, so maybe you can memorize them or get lucky. The questions are not just the films, but odd stuff about the Stooges lives (like who was married, or who didn't play Ukulele! Protip-- Larry!)
There is only about 9 or so random event/games, so there is not a lot to draw on here, and the repetitiveness sets in. One of the hardest parts is the controls, which some like the Waiters, are complicated and not explained.
Graphics: 7
Honestly, these can be pretty great and sometimes lame. Its by Beam Software, which did the great graphics for the NES Defender of the Crown, and both Stooges and Crown are PC ports. But there's cutscenes, especially prominent in the Oyster game and the Boxing Match which look amazing on the NES!
The characters can be big and animated, or small and defined, its done pretty well. The hitch is the people are good, but the backgrounds and details (like the table in the Oyster game) are sloppy.
Sound: 5
The worst part of sound is definitely the short, looping music. I'd rate this a 4, but there is a smattering of voice clips of the Stooges, and it helps. It also hurts, as you'll hear Curly's noises over the stupid crackers so many times. 6, its trying, but its still pretty meh. None of this is memorable at all.
Addictive: 5
Well, its OK. I mean at least you know 30 activities and you are done. I played this a couple of times all the way through to see the endings. Its just some stuff like the Trivia, its gonna be lackluster or not your cup of tea (like me and that stupid soup eating contest).
Story: 6
Simple. Evil forecloser bad, orphans good. The attempt to put some of the old timey Three Stooge films to video game are a unique idea. The fact your cashflow changes how you help them is pretty neat, since multiendings were not common in the NES days.
Depth: 4
A bunch of minigames. A weird board... thing. Its kind of Wario-ware esque, as some of the controls are simple, like moving a spoon to pick up oyster crackers. A bunch of different style games too. Some kind of fun, but none of them really that great.
Difficulty: 8
Those controls! Man, some of these games are just not fun. Even if you make it 30 days, you might not make much money. The luck of the game, or landing the hand on too many mousetraps, this can be over quick.
This was the Three Stooges, a game I'm not sure there was a market for, let alone needed to be ported. Likely due to the success of Defender of the Crown, this was brought over in a 'why not?' moment.

The Three Stooges Review   totaldramaman2
Oh crap, THIS game. The Three Stooges on NES. I honestley don't know about this game. it's not really bad, but it's not good either. This is actually a port of a game on the C64. That game was okay, it had nice graphics, and it had decent voice acting. Now, usually I'm NEVER right about this, but because it's on a more powerful system, it should be better, right?
     --- I can't tell what's going on. ---
This game starts out with the Three Stooges walking out in front of a predicted Ghostbusters II title screen. I guess the makers knew how bad the first game was, so they made it the sequel instead. All of them start talking, but the second one bothers me, because they cut out the end of the last word. I guess it's kind if useless for me to talk about that, because voice acting isn't common on NES, so I guess I should like the fact they included it. Now, for each Day, you get a different job. You get to randomly select the job, and on Day 1, I got selected a job as a waiter. I have to throw pie at the customers, and I have to "look professonal" and not get pie on my face... or should that be faces because I'm playing as 3 characters? Never mind. Playing as all 3 is hard, because I'm not exactly sure how to switch from one to the next. I'm guessing it does it automattically, or I have to rock the D-pad around. Why not just have "A" for the first, "B" for the second, and "Select" for the third?
--- This game couldn't be more random. ---
On Day 2, I picked a card that said Trivia, and I have to answer a bunch of questions that probably have something to do with the show, but again, I haven't watched it. On Day 3, I picked 1 ?... and the day's over. It seems that the ? means random, because I picked $ symbol on Day 5, and it did the same thing. On Day 6, I got a "Doctor" card. Here, a keep picking up the Red Cross sign, and every time I get $5 dollars. I don't know why the Three Stooges need money, which is the main goal of the game. On Day 7, I got a in a contest for... eating crackers. The effect on this Stooge's arm is really glitchy, and I don't understand the little brown Piranha Plants. I keep getting the musetraps, and I guess I ran out of lives, because somebody's saying that $1965 isn't enough for the orphanage, and then I get a blank screen that says "End". That's it. All of those poor, innocent children are going to have to live on streets, use thier clothes for shelter, live behind the nearest Walgreens, hold a sign that says "I will work for FOOD", starve to death, and not even get a proper burial or a funeral, instead, they would get buried under the snow. Days would turn into weeks, then months, then years before they found out what happened to the innocent child. In other words, it's depressing.
--- A letter from the boss... days... Pikmin? ---

In my last review, Winter Games, I talked about how controls ruin games. This is one of them. But, this wasn't just controls, it was the whole concept for a TV-based game to be made that was bad. I guess I'll see you in my next review.
