Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages Snowchu
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
What is this review about, you say? A game called Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, reviewed by Snowdeath, which is me! The game is an installation to the GBA, from the Legend of Zelda series. Read on if you want to see my review.
First, information about the game… Oracle of Ages is a duo game, along with Oracle of Seasons, both released at the same time. Think this way… It’s similar to Pokémon games, Ruby to Sapphire, Black to White, Silver to Gold, etc. There’s nothing drastically different in both games, so don’t worry. Per usual, I will review this game as a GBA game, not to compare it to different consoles.
Graphics – 6
I see 6 as the low average score, and that is what I give to this game. It can give the game a certain kind of charm, but not enough for me to give it a higher score. The graphics itself are average. The colours are almost horrible, yet it makes Oracle of Ages its own charm, with old-dated looks, which some people loves to see in some type of games, and this is one of them.
Sound – BLANK
(I’m completely deaf, so I cannot rate sounds in games.)
Addictiveness – 9
I swear Oracle of Ages just sucks you in even from the start to the end. Like almost all Legend of Zelda games, they have a certain quality that makes you just love them, no matter what. The gameplay literally keeps you playing, even when you get bored, and suddenly, you’re interested because a new objective starts up, or a dramatic boss fight randomly happens, and that list goes on.
Story – 8
It was really well thought out and played, even though Oracle of Ages wasn’t even on par with the other Legend of Zelda games. Oracle of Ages has its own world of mysteriousness and manipulations, which made me, give the storyline a great score.
Depth – 9
In the start, it was simplistic, and as usual, gradually got harder as the game progressed, but I find it to be slightly easy but also hard to be successful in Oracle of Ages. It was, however, extremely fun for me to try to navigate myself through the 8 essences and dungeons, defeat the mini-bosses and bosses, without having to rage-quit once!
Difficulty – 8
The controls are simple, and easy to get used to, and you’ll quickly master them in time, but I find the fact you have to press A and use up and down just to pick up a pot, unlike other Legend of Zelda games, where you can just pick them up anytime and break it easily. However, I’ve noticed that when you move, your hero character (Link) moves smoothly, like there’s no panels to stand in exactly each time you use the moving arrows. It’s a great thing to have in games, therefore the 8.
Overall – 9.1
Overall, Oracle of Ages is simply a game you must play to get that first-hand experience of this kind of games. It has a great storyline, okay graphics, but best of them all, low rage meter. This is actually my first game I didn’t have to quit on a boss for a bit, then come back, and quit on a later stage. I’m greatly impressed by this adept game. I didn’t expect it to have such a beautiful and smooth storyline and it did well for a distant land sub-story in the Legend of Zelda series.
In all, my experience playing this game was great. Addicting, enjoyable, and definitely fun in one game is a great combo, if you ask me. In case if you were wondering, I would definitely re-play this game sometime in the soon future, for ages.

Zelda Oracle Of Ages wicked-pyper-le..
If you are wondering which game I am reviewing it is Zelda Oracle Of Ages it is very similar to Zelda Oracle Of Seasons with some small differences. This game is made for GBA which still makes it good just old, in the list of all Zelda games this one comes right after Oracle of Seasons and after if you wish you can play Legend of Zelda:Four Swords. But now on to my review: Graphics: 7- The reason I gave this game a 7 on graphics is just because I have played so many modern games that most old games do kind of look bad when it comes to color and what not. But don't let that get you down about playing since this is an old game the graphics are still pretty cool specially when it comes to killing your enemy.Sound: 8- The sound is pretty basic but still good specially when doing certain missions and all that. The music isn't too bad but like most other video games it does tend to get some what annoying after listening to it for a good minute. If you are like me and do enjoy the music of Zelda then my advice for you is to at least keep it down so you don't go crazy!Addictiveness: 8- I gave this one a lot of thought considering some games are addictive and some aren't, well for me this game was highly addictive. I literally couldn't stop playing it till I was either so tired I had to quit or I got really frustrated and almost broke my computer! Don't get me wrong I am not say this game makes you mad, it makes one frustrated just like any other game just try to remember this game is old and hasn't really had a chance to be remade lol. Story: 8- The story line for this game was awesome to me. Obviously the creatures of this game took their time and made this game the best they could. The story line made me feel like it wasn't even a Zelda game, just a game that I started to play it was way epic for me.Depth: 9- The depth for this game to me was amazing, it was basically what kept me playing. It went from easy to hard but not so hard that I was quitting every 10 or so minutes just to the point that it made me try harder and play longer.Difficulty: 8- The controls for this game are not very hard at all A and B but I find it rather odd that you need to hit a button to lift pots when in the other games you just go up to it and hit up and there you go but anyways. The basic part of the game is what I consider hard, beating the bosses and collection the items. I think at some point I even needed to go online and find out where to go but only once. Moving your character (Link) is not at all hard he moves very nice its like he is walking on air lol. Overall: 9.8- For me this game was one of my favorites and I just loved it. It isn't too hard and I didn't get as mad at it like I do other games. The graphics were decent and the sounds for me was amazing, I just wish they would make some new music to go along with it lol. The story line is what got me to play this game all the detail the put into it was just fantastic! Basically this game is wonderful and I think that anyone would enjoy playing it just remember if you play this or any other Zelda game you will most likely be addicted for life!

Link and his travel to Labrynna! sonicthehedgeho..
Time........Something so fragile......that if it were to be changed by human hands...........the world in itself would fall into disarray. You travel many miles and find you could walk for hours......without any hope or despair. Times change, seasons move, people live, and people die these are all things that are affected by the very fabric of time. Just like our hero Link who has his adventure ahead of him where he must meet up with a strange girl named Nayru, Who is this girl? What will Link do? Who Is After Nayru?. You'll find out in a few minutes into this review!
Graphics: 8 out of 10
The graphics in this game are exactly what you would expect from a Game Boy Advance game while they aren't the best compared to a game like Gyakuten Kenji but that's like a whole different level of graphics. The graphics are very colorful and very detailed especially when you go from the present time into the past time or the close ups on the characters like when Link meets Nayru in the forest. The graphics are the same as Link's Awakening on the Game Boy except for this game being in color. Nice job on the graphics 8 out of 10 is my rating here.
Sound: 10+ out of 10
The sound in this game is just like any other Zelda game...amazing! Already when you go meet Nayru in the forest you hear a very nice melody that she is singing and it really puts you in that mood where you feel calm, relaxed, and happy to be playing the game. The music in a game is one of the best opportunities to draw the player into the game and Zelda Oracle of Ages exceeds that goal by a long-shot. Some of my most favorite songs in this game are: Nayru's Song, Top of the tower, and Lynna City (Present). One again a very good job 10+ out of 10 in my opinion
Difficulty: 8.5 out of 10
The Difficulty in this game is one of those strange cases where you have both the player and the game itself having faults meaning that when you die sometimes you're the one at fault cause you did something wrong or forgot something, then other times it's the games fault as you must be quick on your feet and you're mind otherwise you'll have to start over again which is the fault of the game itself. But you still have other time where you may have forgotten something in a previous room or you put in the wrong combination and set off a trap that killed you which in that case the fault is on your shoulders and not the games. Now one main reason why I rate this game a difficulty of 8.5 is because you have to know when to be in the present time or the past time to enter a dungeon or find a certain path that you need to be on which adds a bit more difficulty to the game So 8.5 out of 10 is my decision here.
Story: 10+ out of 10
The story in this game is once again completely amazing, you start out as Link walking through a forest it seems and then you meet a woman named Impa who was being attack she says she was trying to find Nayru but she couldn't get past this one rock. Link decided to help her since he also needed to meet with Nayru as well. He finds her singing on a tree stump as she welcomes Link to the land of Labrynna. Then all of the sudden you see a spirit come out of Impa's body and it is revealed to be the Sorceress of Shadows who's name is Veran she takes over Nayru's body and says that no one can stop her now that she controls the Oracle Of Ages. Link now rushes off to find a way to save her from Veran's evil clutches and the only way to do this is to travel through time to stop her evil plan from taking affect. Very interesting story and it most certainly draws you into it and makes you wanna play, perfect job 10+ out of 10 for such an amazing story.
Depth: 10 out of 10
If you're gonna play this game you better be ready to save at least at one point in this game cause this game is not a game that you can complete in one who sitting. You have many things that have to be done in this game and many things that you can do one your own time such as: collecting magical rings, finding upgrades to your weapons, solving puzzles, finishing dungeons, and traveling to the past and present to make the mistakes from the past be corrected in the present time line between saving people from death or gaining helpful hints or equipment. When you reach Veran and defeat her you probably think "oh cool I beat the game now I don't have to worry about anything else....right?" well if you're playing a linked game then no you aren't finished yet as now you have to make it past a confusing maze called the room of rites so you can stop the true masterminds behind the attacks in Labrynna and another town that you've already saved called Holodrum. If you're playing a normal game then yes your quest in finished.....at least in this town it is, as another town is in jeopardy of having their seasons fall into chaos do to an evil mastermind planning to kidnap the Oracle of Seasons that is located in the peaceful town. So much that can happen and so much that you can do this is highly deserving of a 10 out of 10 if you ask me!
Addictiveness: 10 out of 10
This is one of those special games that when you turn on the power button it is as if your hands are now chained together and the only way to get them free again is to finish the game. You'll at least come back to this game one more time cause of all the memories you had the 1st time around, even if you did have a difficult time when you first play the game you'll know what to do the second time so there will be alot more enjoyment the 2nd time around I assure you. You might come back and say "this time I'm gonna get all the magical rings" or perhaps "I'm gonna try and get the Master Sword this time" or finally "I wanna get the ending where I defeat Ganon" Very high addictiveness value 10 out of 10.
As sad as it is my Time is running out on this review, like I said in the beginning if humans were to change time itself the world would fall into disarray. The only one who can help change time for the best is the hero chosen by the gods Link! The Savior Of Labrynna!

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages for Gameboy Color review ZavierGonzo
This Zelda title for the Game boy Color is good! BUT, I don't think I can explain the Plot + Story without spoiling a certain part of it, and I had to beat certain parts with a Walkthrough, so, yeah, it's pretty hard for a G B C game! This game's story is about an oracle named "Nayru" and she's possessed by the antagonist of the game and link has too save her, yeah. Just a normal Zelda game. Save Girl, defeat antagonist, see ending, love the story of the game. This game overall, is good. So I gave it a 9.5 rating.
