Just another one of those games...   RedHotToddy
One thing I remembered from Saturday morning cartoon history is the cartoon series rocky and Bullwinkle, This show follows the adventures of a squirrel named rocky and a moose named Bullwinkle, together the duo go on crazy adventures doing all kinds of crazy stuff and most importantly thwarting the diabolical plans of their two enemies Boris badnov and Natasha fatale! Now how could you translate all this into an NES game? Let's see, this is the adventures of rocky and Bullwinkle for the NES.
Story-5/10
Um...I think the story behind this one is that rocky and Bullwinkle are on a quest to recover Bullwinkle's inheritance! But there is one problem keeping them from reaching their goal, Oh no! Those two evil do-baders Boris badnov and Natasha fatale! Will the moose and squirrel succeed? Or will they have their heads in the clouds? Let's find out...
Gameplay-5/10
For the most part, rocky and Bullwinkle's adventure is a side-scroller, and a pretty simplistic one at that! In each level you will control rocky and Bullwinkle as you guide them from the beginning of the level to the end without getting defeated theirselves! The controls are pretty simple yet complicated at the same time, You use the D-pad to move, You press A to jump, You press B to attack with your bombs, and you use select to switch between rocky and Bullwinkle. In each level you will have to defeat some dastardly bad guys, and these guys include Boris and Natasha, and well...I can't actually name the rest because they look so generic!  The duo's main attack will be these explosive bombs, they pack a huge punch! Now besides that, other items include keys which can open locked doors, soda cans which will replenish your life meter, and alot of more. There are a few problems I have with the game, and here are some of them, The first problem is the hit detection!  Most times when you are trying to bomb an enemy, it doesn't kill them! My second problem is the jumping, it is really delayed. You press the A button, then 10 seconds later BOOM! Your character jumps! It is especially annoying in the later levels. Some levels end with a really easy boss, you just run around the field doing god knows what, then bam! The boss is done! Anyways, this is all I can explain for the gameplay.
Graphics-7/10
This game was made in 1993, and for what it is worth, It doesn't look too bad! The graphics are pretty big vass and bursting with color. I heard some reviewers complain that the game looks like it was done on MS paint (Level One) But be glad the developers tried their hardest! Now for the characters, they actually look good and recognizable enough to be considered themselves, Bullwinkle is a large and tall brown moose, Rocky is a short gray squirrel with aviator's goggles on, and so on. The HUD is pretty self explanatory, It displays how many bombs you have left, your amount of health left until you die, and last but not least, Your amount of tries remaining, If you run out of tries, It is game over and you must try again. So the graphics are really good!
Sound-5/10
Right of the freaking bat, you are greeted with a remarkable yet repetitive rendition of the rocky and Bullwinkle theme song, It isn't the best, But it isn't the worst! That's what I can say. Now as for the actual game soundtrack, It isn't too bad to be honest! Most of the songs in each level are really catchy and can be stuck in your heard for a while! Well not as much as mega man's soundtrack, but close! As for sound effects, they are there, but they are hardly noticeable and real quiet. You get boings, beeps, booms, and all of that other good stuff! That is it or the soundtrack.
Addictiveness-5/10
The game actually kept me busy for quite a while! Well not as much as other NES games out at the time, but close! The game has a certain charm that will want you to keep playing, And that is not because it has all your favorite characters from the cartoon series, but it is something else! It is that the game has more effort put into it then most licensed games, excluding the bucky'o'hare NES game from konami, that one was pretty darn awesome!
Depth-4/10
The game is actually really short! I remembered my first time completing it, I had really beat it in about 15 minutes! That is really good. But the sad part is that the game doesn't have much more then that to keep you playing over and over and over and over again. You beat the game, you get the one screen ending, you get sent back to the title screen, Yippee! Well the game does offer some replayability, but still. Really.
Difficulty-8/10
I remembered this one being pretty hard from what I remember! I had no hope of beating the first level, But with some practice, I could beat the whole game! The game can sure make you scream at certain times, but If you are a true expert gamer, then you shall pass rocky and Bullwinkle with flying colors.
Overall-6.3/10
To be honest, I didn't hate this one at all! I did have some fun and enjoyment, But in the end, the game still feels unfinished and buggy, But It is no real problem. I gave this game a 6.3 because what It does good for a licensed NES game. So anyways, this has been my 102th review! See you guys later! I haven't been posting anything for a while because of school and stuff, But I'll get it together much more soon! Anyways, this has been RedHotToddy, and I am signing off! Now remember, if you want to to review anything, just request me via message!

This game has some of the most slippery controls I've ever experienced in a game.
