Street fighter II the world warrior review   SacredShadow
Overall:  9.3
This game is an arcade classic and it is very fun and you can play as any of your favorite character and enjoy the game with awesome graphics and a great sound as well. This game is bound to leave you with hours of addicting fun. I gave the game overall a 9.3 because it is very addicting to play and it also is very good quality in both sound and graphics.
Graphics: 9
Like I said the graphics for this SNES game are really good and very sharp high quality. You can make out each character and all of the details better than ever. The character sprites and the background areas for each character all look very sharp and amazing, making the game experience all the better. I scored the graphics a 9 because they are very excellent and I feel like it enhances the overall enjoyment of the game. So in any case I feel like good graphics is a must have essential in any good game.
Sound: 9
Lets be realistic here, the sound is amazing and realistic, when you are throwing your opponent into a barrel or obstacle or even when you punch them and they land on the ground defeated, all of the sounds are in sync with the movements and actions of the characters which is amazing to have in a game, especially an action packed game like street fighter where everything matters to make up an awesome game. Like the graphics, good sound that goes along with the movements and actions of the characters is another essential in a good game, so I scored them a 9 because they are also very well done.
Addictiveness: 9
I think we can all safely say that we have been addicted to a street fighter game of any kind before, that is the whole point of the game. Whether you are good or bad at the game it becomes addicting to try and win and beat every character, it will make you switch up your strategy, your character and even the difficulty of the game all to ensure that you can win! I really found it hard at first to beat characters like Ryu and M. Bison because of their technique and fighting style which made it difficult to attack them back, and because I was addicted, I switched up my technique up with a different character and I won. It is a classic arcade game, so it wouldn't be a very addicting game if it didn't make you want to try again and try harder to be better and win. I rated the addictiveness a 10 because street fighter is just one of those classic fighting game that will hook you into playing until you win.
Story: 5
This game really doesn't feature a very complex story line and plot because that would take away from the addictiveness of the game and it would be confusing, so they kept the game nice and simple to make it both addicting and fun to play. There isn't really much of a story except that you travel around the world to face off against other fighters to become the world champion of the strongest fighter. There is also a little story involved after they win the championship title and it varies for each character, it shows what they do after the championship and what they continue to do with their life afterwards, like Ryu keeps training to become stronger even after the tournament. The story line is simple because it isn't the main point of focus in the game, what makes it popular is the fighting and battling against each character, the story is just a little background plot that gives more detail of the game and keeps it interesting. So in a game that is mostly meant for fighting and action like setting a high score and winning, the story really is not super important and only plays a minor part in an arcade game, which is what makes it fun because it is simple, so I gave it a 5 for story. But that shouldn't affect the enjoyment of the game though because that is not what its all about.
Depth: 9
Well you travel around the world to go against fighters that want to win the tournament for different reasons which are shown in their ending after they have won the game. The game doesn't take that long to beat if you know how street fighter works and if you know your controls. It is a game that shouldn't really take more than an hour or so to play and beat, sure there are bosses that can be tough to beat because of all of their kicking and punching moves, but it really isn't a game that takes days and days to finally finish like a Pokémon game. It is a simple arcade game that should be meant to be beaten in a shorter period of time. I rated the depth a 6 because although it is a game that can be beaten in a short amount of time, it is very fun and challenging for the time you do spend playing it.
Difficulty: 6
The difficulty is different for everyone, if you know how street fighter works then you know what to expect. But if you have never played it, it can be a bit of a hassle in trying to know the controls and picking a good character to win. But that is why I am here to tell you that it is a quick game and it is very easy to pick up on the way it works, you can set up the controls any way you like to make it easy on your fingers to win. There is even an option mode which lets you see the controls and arrange them accordingly to however you like. The game is not impossible to beat, all you really need to be good at games like this are quick fingers and a good character that is quick and knows good moves like Ryu. I f this game is a fist to you, it should be a little challenging but nevertheless it isn't impossible and it should be easy to pick up on the gameplay and the controls.

Street Fighter 2: The World Worrior   mgharper94
Hey everyone, been awhile since I did a review on a retro game. This time I will be doing a review on an arcade hit from the 90's, Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior! Now Some people have their different opinions on which Street Fighter 2 is the best depending on how many characters there are, how fast the fighting is, etc. For this review I will share my opinions based on what I played on the physical copy that I have so, let's get down to it!
GRAPHICS: For the most part, the graphics are pretty decent for it being on SNES, the game is colorful in its own way, the characters have just a little bit of detail, and almost every character portrait is the same on the game over screen but some are kinda changed due to the censorships in nintendo's hardware. It's pretty good overall to the arcade comparison though!
SOUND: Okay, the sound in the game is nice, not perfect but nice. You have sounds from Ryu's Hadoken shout to your character's cry on the game over screen, but I just think that there is just some sounds missing if not kinda edited in my opinion.
ADDICTIVENESS: What can I say, the only thing that pretty much changes in the game is the characters that you're going to face and pretty much fighting your friends in proving who's better. Other then that there isn't really much that'll keep you coming back for more.
STORY: There isn't really a story in the game as far as I know of.
DEPTH: There isn't really that much in this version of Street Fighter 2. You only have only either 8 or a little more characters to choose from, and there is a little more fighters than what you get to fight, that I'm not really going to get into at this moment. You'll basically have to find that out for yourself if you have never played the game before or just have never gotten that far.
DIFFICULTY: Well, just like every fighting game, the difficulty gets easy at first then it gets harder as you progress. Not really a big surprise but the final boss (I've never been this far so, I wouldn't know) may just be the toughest.
Well, overall this game is a good game and a good substitute to saving your time and quarters on trying to beat this game in the arcades but, one little thing I forgot to mention is that this game may just have just a little bit of frame rate issues. Some things that you do or that happens in the game will slow the game down for a bit, it's minor but can get just a little annoying if you hate it. Hope you enjoyed this review AND enjoyed playing the game like I did, and if you're up for it you could get a SUPABOY to play this game on the go! As always I will see you guys in the next review!

It's A Bumpin' Brusin' Classic for the SNES!   PixelBrick
Ah, Street Fighter. So many games have been made of you. The great Capcom just spews out these games. But the best of the series: Street Fighter II The World Warrior. This version is made for the Super Nintendo with enhanced graphics, fun game-play and great sound. These are some things you'll hear about in this review. This was a very popular game series. It WAS the number one fighting game, but I think Super Smash Bros Universe is gonna take the cake. This game is, like I said very popular. This was actually a parody in an episode of the Disney cartoon, Gravity Falls where Dipper transports a character into the real world. The theme of the game Dipper was playing is the same. Similar screen, different character design, same story, and the same graphics. There has been late Street Fighter games, but they're not as good as the classic I am reviewing. I chose this because it is nice and simple to write about, and I hope you can play this masterpiece some time.
Overall: 7.5/10
Okay, this game has a few down-ratings, so I rated it a 7.5. This game is still neat though. Throughout this review, you will find out why I rated this, overall, a 7.5 for the game. I think you will agree with these ratings if you were to play the game. I try to keep the ratings fair, so I came up to an average of 7. But I like the game more than that. So I was a little nice and make it a 7.5. There really isn't much to say in this category, so I guess I will move on to our first REAL category.
Graphics: 9/10
Now, Super Nintendo Entertainment System games usually have top notch sprites. This is one of those games. There are rarely any Super Nintendo games with bad sprite art work. In this game, the facial features are very realistic on the fighters. They look very animated though, and that's what really shines about the game. You can't stop admiring your character sprite, yet you've gotta knock out your opponent. The background is dreadfully detailed. Most of Capcom's games have amazing graphics. This is obviously one of their creations. This has better graphics than...let's say...Alien Wars or Demon's Crest. The graphics in this game are very well done, all the fighters look sharp, and when you or your opponent get defeated, the bruises and blood looks quite sharp on the character. And no, this is not a mature game. For some reason, it's still just rated K-A even though it has fantasy blood. Not fair! Earthbound on the Virtual Console got rated a T. One of the reasons is because it has blood. There isn't any blood in the game! Yet, Alien Wars gets rated mature. You see, Street Fighter II is just like these other Nintendo games that have very off ratings. I'll give a major example. Have you played the Nintendo 64 L.O.Z games? The graphics in that game (Talking about all the creepy-pastas on those games) are very strange and not rated E level. But this won't take away the fun from Street Fighter II because of how addicting it is, which is the category after the next category :P. Anyways, the graphics in this game are really enjoyable.
Sound: 8/10
The sound in this game is pretty good. Sometimes it sounds a bit buggy like Chun Li's victory, but it's still good. Lots of Super Nintendo games have great music. This is of course one of them. I'm running out of things to say here. But basically...the title screen music has a, let's say...interesting melody. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it's catchy. Then the player select screen. More catchy music is coming your way. Then when it's an introduction of who you are fighting, the music sounds very foreign. It sounds like, maybe the music is from Brazil or Mexico. The music in all the countries, very well composed. I feel as if they put a lot of work to pout together the soundtrack. Now if only the soundtrack of this game was as good as Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64. And about sound...when your character gets knocked out, it's the same, "Uhhhhhggg" for every character. And suppose you're playing as one of the American representatives. What the character says sounds nothing like an American. Especially the Indian fighter. When he does PK Fire his fireball attack, it sounds like he says, " Duke it fire!" And let me say this, it sounds nothing like the average Indian. He sounds like he's North American to me. I think you would agree with me. Yes, all the character sound effects are weird, but the music is perfection. And let's talk about the attack effects. If you were to punch your opponent, you would hear the classic punch sound from TV shows or movies. In fact, this sound effect is the only sound effect you hear from getting hit from an attack. It's pretty ironic if I do say so myself. About music, um. If you are fighting the Chinese representative, Chinese music plays in the background. The background AND music for the country makes the game really realistic. In fact, you could just play this game to study for geography class! But when you're fighting at the casino, there is no music unless you hear a bunch of people talking at the same time. Anyways, you should understand that the music in this game is top notch and very quaint.
Replay-ability: 9/10
This game can be pretty addicting considering this game is not that long and the games with simple stories are usually addicting. Take Popeye for the Nintendo Entertainment System for an example. This game can also be addicting if you're playing co-op mode. What, a two dimensional fighting game without a Vs mode? Vs mode is the best mode to play on if you're bored. Hey, I just gave you an idea on what to play on Netplay! But the music and graphics mostly make this game addicting. The graphics are gorgeous so you won't stop staring at the background, and the music as an addition for a Duke it out brawl with a friend or the CPU. Also, I should mention, the THEME of the game makes this game dreadfully addicting. A two dimensional fighting game that is based off a fighting tourney because you go to different countries, and each fighter is stronger than the last! This game requires a lot of skill to beat even though the game is short (Which is why my difficulty rating is what it is). Like, when was the last time we've had a fighting game that was actually fun? Super Smash Bros Brawl, I know, but Street Fighter outruns Super Smash Bros Brawl. Street Fighter II's next generation (Meaning the generation of 1991-1991 :P) fighting challenge makes this game very addicting. And let me point out that if the character design were terrible, this game would probably not be addicting. Like you know Super Mario World. That game can get old because of the same-old Mario sprite. But Mario World hacks like A Metal Mario Hack redesigns the main character to make the character cooler. Even when people hack the ROM of Street Fighter II and change the character design or texture, it's still got nothing on the original version. Character design, sound, and graphics make this game very addicting for all video game players...
Story: 3/10
Okay, as I've said, this story is not rocket science. If this game had a complicated story, it probably would not be as addicting. Basically your pick is how you affect the story. All fighters travel to each other's countries to fight each other to win the tourney and win justice. But you must go through seven extreme fighters to get the girl, and to obviously beat the game. So nothing special here. It seems as if all the games I review have lame story lines. I should review Ocarina of Time next....but anyways, like I said, a complicated story like Legend of Zelda MM would not make this an addicting game. But story doesn't matter. Game-play does. Space Invaders doesn't offer much depth, has bad graphics, overrated story, but it's still a fun classic to enjoy. But honestly, this game has no specialty story-wise. What's good about supporting racism by beating up people from other countries?  That strike text does not lie. Just look at the Brazilian fighter in this game. Are all Brazilians blood-thirsty beasts? Eh, whatever. There really isn't much more to say story-wise, so I guess we'll move on to the category that counts (Other than the overall rating. *Cough*) Anyways, you understand how sorrow the story is.
Depth: 5/10
Okay, this game offers little depth. There is seven stages in the entire game and eight characters. The countries are, US, Brazil, Japan, Russia, China, and India. Not very many countries, huh? In this game, there is a cheat to remove the time limit and energy bar, making it impossible to progress. All you have to do is go to options, press start, go to options, press start, go to options, press start, go to options. Repeat this for 26 seconds. I don't know why you would want to do this. It would just be an endless fight. You can't progress, and you can't get knocked out. You are then subjected to restarting the console or restarting the emulator if you are playing on this website. And on an unrelated note, the move set of some of the characters are pretty weird. When was the last time you've seen an Indian shoot fire out of its hand? This is supporting witchcraft, people! Anyways, the seven wonders of the world. America, Brazil, Japan, Russia, China, India, and the Casino. Where you go is based off which person you are fighting. If you are against Ken, you are going to the wonders of the USA. The US features army men and tourists on a cruise. Whoever has won the round gets a victory. Sometimes calm, and sometimes rude like the Indian that looks like Captain Falcon. If you win or lose both rounds, then the winner says his taunt, and the opponent looks like he or she has been cruising for a bruising. There's blood and bruises all around the opponent's face. If you lose both rounds on one fight, you have nine seconds to continue. If you continue, then the country of who you were fighting as is eliminated. You're better off just restarting unless you're on the final fight. That is the only recommended time to use your continues. Keep in mind that you have seven continues, so the game is being nice to you because of the game's dreadful difficulty. And get this: This game has NO Game Genie codes. Pretty disappointing if I do say so myself. Well, if this game did have Game Genie codes, the game would be as easy as using the codes in Mega Man X. I can see why Capcom didn't add special codes into this game. (Capcom made the Mega Man series AND all the Street Fighter games, so...) In this game, there is a lot of intense sprites. Not very many kids owned this game because of this.
Difficulty: 8/10
Throughout this review, I have given a lot of hints about how hard this game is. Trust me, this game is hard. Not like Ninja Gaiden or Hard Corps hard, but this game is hard. The CPU in this game just LOVES to cheat. You're better off just playing Vs mode. I mean, this game is really intense, so it's a good thing that you get 7 continues. Most Super Nintendo games are really difficult anyways. This is clearly one of them. I've never made it past the first fight in this game, people! So bare in mind that the CPU's will is inhalation. Pure inhalation.
I hope you enjoyed this review on Street Fighter II The World Warrior. I hope you get a chance to play this yourself! :)

Street Fighter 2 review   G@mehe@d
Street Fighter 2 was an arcade machine that got ported on the SNES and the Genesis. We will talk about the SNES version on this review.
GRAPHICS: With detailed fighting grounds, unique looks for each fighter, and the use of parallax scrolling show that the graphics of this game are great. I just have one thing to pick and that the animations are not very fluid.  That's okay though, that shouldn't affect your Street Fighter experience.
SOUND: The music matches the levels perfectly, and the sound of crunching when you hit the enemy fighter makes it extremely satisfying to hit an enemy and since the music matches the levels.  You have a focused theme for each fighting ground. The sound does have a problem though, the voice samples are not played in as good of quality as the Super Nintendo can handle. One example would be on Super Metroid and you have the introduction. The voice playing in the introduction is super clear, so I know what the Super Nintendo is capable of when it comes to voice samples.
ADDICTIVENESS: Holy cow! This game is extremely addicting. Even when you lose a fight several times (which has happened to me a lot) you still would want to keep trying and trying until you kick your opponents butt XD! Plus with the number of difficulties to choose from. You will be entertained for hours!
DEPTH: Street Fighter 2 has quite a bit to offer. You have a variety of options, like the difficulty settings which gives you a huge 9 different difficulties. You also have 8 fighters to choose from and 11 stages, 7 regular opponents and 4 boss opponents. Plus 2 bonus stages, which tend to be quite fun.
DIFFICULTY: The average difficulty on Street Fighter 2 is 3. That however feels like it's on the difficulty of 9. I spent nearly 1 1/2 hours trying to beat the game. The reason why it took me so long was because some of the opponents were so hard I spent 15- 30 minutes on each of them! So if you are just starting to play the game set the difficulty to 0. Trust me I still have a little bit of trouble on that difficulty on that mode too.

street fighter 2 the world warriors (snes)   cafeman55
Capcom did a great job of transferring this classic fighting game from the arcades to the super Nintendo entertainment system
graphics: the detail is good on both the character and the background
sound: the music is really addictive and the sound, when your throwing your opponent on the wooden boxes or punching some barrels really sounds awesome
addictiveness: you will want to play this game again and again mostly cuz its fun to play when in vs mode against someone else even if you loose its still very fun to play
depth: all the fighters are in the tournament for different reasons so this makes it twice as fun because you get to see all the characters endings
difficulty: I had this game when i was 12 years old and let me tell ya it gets easy at first but later on it gets tough especially when your up against the 3 bosses Balrog, Vega and M Bison these bosses are no pushovers so your gonna die a lot when you face them

Street Fighter 2   mortalkombatfan..
Street Fighter 2 in my opinion is the best fighter game beside Mortal Kombat! Most people know this game, but where's the first one? Well, there is a street fighter 1, but it's such a obscure piece of dog poo that even big fans of the street fighter series don't know!   Anyway, the graphics are good, the game play is amazing, and the story is almost perfect, but the difficulty is where this game starts to make me wanna rip my Sega arcade controller out of my genesis console! But I give it  a rating overall of 8.

Street Fighter II:The World Warrior (Snes)   Awesome5000
Introduction:
From the developers of Capcom and one of Capcom's greastest hits.I may sound too much nostalgic here but im going to point it out anyway. It was one of my old time favorites from my retro childhood experience at the arcades which i spent dozens of quarters on when i was not even a pro (Mostly getting defeated but was so much fun) was one of the best 2-D fighter games which i enjoyed playing and had a blast when it finally came out on home consoles such as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System at my cousins house (Which i eventually owned my own console and cartridge a short time later).Anyways.."Street Fighter II:The World Warrior" for the Super Nintendo was the first of the series to reach home consoles and was a treat for all those arcade fans who longed for it,this is a 2-D martial arts one on one tournament fighting game which has a roster of only eight competitors who's names are."Ryu"."Ken"."Zangief"."Dhalsim"."E.Honda"."Blanka"."Guile".And the only female fighter in the game at the time but one of my favorites "Chun-Li".Each fighter has a unique style of fighting with special moves you can preform.Choose your fighter and face all of your opponents on their destiny to meet the final boss "M.Bison".
Story:5 And
Depth:5
In the beggining of the Street Fighter games series, It's always just been plain and simple.Choose your fighter and have them get on their journey to defeat M.Bison.On their way down they will have to defeat all 11 opponents before getting to the final boss. There is two mini-games you will get for bonus score and once you defeat all eight fighters which you see in the roster, four extra opponents will pop out on the map with added locations that the plane travels to prove yourself to the strongest fighters in the world. And now the extra characters are introduced. The formidable and banned former boxer known as "Balrog". The Iron clawed maniac "Vega". The dangerous muay thai fighter known as "Sagat" and finally in charge of all,General M.Bison.Once defeating M.Bison, you will be given a storyline ending that will last about one but feels satisfying as the animations are done well and the text explains their reasons on what the fighters are about since the begining explains absolutely nothing. Not really that much to offer but for an oldschool fighting game, its fair enough. Not too bad,not too good, just fair.Balanced.For those who are good at this game,it will take about 40-45 minutes to beat and i mean when you're (Good) I personally enjoy much more the two player mode since i find it more challenging and more fun being able to compete against a human being on any stage of the map in the game rather than just going against the computer because the computer has become too easy for me.
Difficulty:8
Now i rated this one "Eight" because i will have to admit. This game is really hard and when i say hard i mean hard as ice.The fighters can drain your lifebar as fast as slipping over an ice-cream sandwich you have to really be on your guard with this one and  if having difficulties this game may take more than an hour to beat. But once you master all of the fighters moves and all of the tricks on getting to know your opponents,it will feel like a piece of cake, well at least for me (I have mastered this game knowing how to defeat all of the opponents and every ones moves at the age of 10) Like i have done, but it required me to do some practice on the two player mode. You can also change the difficulty level to like one or something :D but it is not worth it since you take the challenge out of the game also eliminating the ending scenes with just a "Thank You for playing screen" its way of telling you,for wanting it easy, you wasted 45 minutes of your time, congrats! have a nice day champ.Nothing much else to say about the difficulty, this game just wants you to become a "Warrior"
Graphics:5 And
Sound:6
As far as the graphics goes,i personally think the details were not all that great on the fighters face expressions and the select character screen but has gotten so much better on new release later after that on Street Fighter II Turbo. But then again the graphics look all right, fair enough not much to offer but fair enough since its just made its debut, not going to poke it too much and the level designs are pretty much okay for this 2-D fighter. The animations on the ending scenes are pretty well done.Despite some imperfections,i just let it pass (Not much of a problem for me) as far as my opinions go (But from those who judge graphics by what they see today, maybe wont be too pleased) As for the sound,i love all of the sound affects, from the voices of the fighters when you preform special moves,to when they get K.o'd the sounds of boxes breaking, the destruction of the vehicle blowing up,to the announcer. Also the soundtrack! the soundtrack is pretty amazing and memorable, every fighter has a theme music for their stage which you can also test on the options menu on the music testing near the sound affects testing. For me the developers of Capcom has always had amazing and outstanding music for their games,Capcom has always knew how to do it well when it came to music.
Overall:7.9
I'll make this one Short and sweet.Street Fighter II:The World Warrior for the Super-Nintendo is a good game, like i mentioned before (Not much to offer) but one of the greatest classics when you look back at the Street Fighter II origins.Difficult ,YES.High ratings on graphics,NO.These types of games are mostly for retro fans who comes back to these for nostalgic reasons and remember how far its come.To top it off, this game paved the way for all of the other Street Fighter games that came shortly after that, and all of the modern Street Fighter releases which you see in this era.Overall:7.9

The Game That Truly Started It All   jojo3585
The game that changed it all Street Fighter 2. Wow I still remember when I was a kid playing it in the arcade and when I got my Super Nintendo like all the other kids Street Fighter 2 was the game to have. 25 years later this true classic is loved by all. The graphics are great especially when you do the special moves was magnificent (LOVELY!!!!). The sound is definitely incredible from the punches to the victories and defeats. The music was so great too especially Ken's stage its still a tune that still goes on today. This game is still addictive I was addicted when I was a kid and still am today just remarkable. You'll have make sure your game face is on and your mind is sharp and your wit is sharp, because if you're not you won't survive. The difficulty is definitely a 10 no wait a 10+ you have unique fighting styles to fight against and have to have great strategy to overcome them. In Overall this classic is worth your time. Thanks Capcom for raising the bar so high for all the games that are out there will be no other game like this ever. So play kick butt and enjoy gamers.
