Toot Toot Sonic CD Never Forgotten sonicthehedgeho..
As Time Passes things get remembered and things get forgotten the SEGA CD was pretty much a failure in the US and many people don't remember this system as it's popularity was very short lived and one of the few games that was even worth playing was Sonic CD which many people consider the best of the system. Sonic CD basically plays almost similar to Sonic 1 in some ways, however there are some differences that really put this game at the top. First you had 2 ability's you could use in this game the Spin Dash/Attack and the super peel out in which sonic charges his speed then blasts off as soon as you let go of the button. Not only do you have those ability's but you also have a new concept...Time Traveling... In which Sonic could go into the Past & Future of an area and also returning to the present time (Future Time+Past Panels) (Past Time+Future Panels) by using Time Panels that are found in many different parts of a level. Once you got up to the 3rd act you would have 2 outcomes of what Future you went to, the Good Future & the Bad Future depending on how you played through the last 2 acts you will get either one of those. Good Futures are caused by destroying the Time Capsules in the past time of act 1 & 2, Bad Futures are caused by not destroying the Time Capsules because of just speeding through the level to the end.The Sound in this game..well it depends on your taste as the European/JPN soundtrack is different from the US soundtrack so it depends on what music you like better. The only thing that can't be judged by taste are the sounds of collecting rings, destroying enemies, time traveling, and the bosses at the end of each act. Since I like alot of the European/JPN music I would rate the sound high and the sounds that I mentioned above don't really seem that annoying or tedious so I think a 10 is deserved here in my opinionNow The Story in this game is basically Robotnik/Eggman/ Fat crazy scientist whatever you wanna call him has imprisoned the animals on the Little Planet which hovers above Mobius at a certain time once a year. Robotnik tries to take control of the planet so he can get his precious hands on the Time Stones (No they're not Chaos Emeralds) so he can rule the planet for all time. However Sonic notices something is up at Little Planet as he saw it was chained to the ground by Robotnik so he darts off headed by Little Planet. When he gets there Robotnik sends out Metal Sonic to capture a girl hedgehog by the name of Amy Rose. Robotnik patiently waits for Sonic to head to his fortress. The Reason I put the difficulty at 8 is cause sometimes it is hard to travel to the past or future as if you suddenly get stop while you're trying to warp then it will cancel out and you'll have to find another panel which is hard to do as you'll probably have to practice the level to get really great at pulling it off. The difficulty in the levels it self I would rate it a 6 but because of the Time Traveling problem that I explained I would say and 8 is the score for difficulty in my opinionThe games Addictiveness level is very high for me as you have several different things you can do each time you play. Get all the time stone, Go through all the good futures or go to future levels in every stage So 9 is my score for replay-ability So that's Sonic CD for The Sega CD It personally my favorite Classic Sonic game. It's not my most favorite out of the whole series but I obviously can't do a review for that since it's not on vizzed in which I can most definitely see why but anyway back to Sonic CD. I love the aspect of time traveling that they put in this game as it gave it more of a powerful feel behind it as it made you feel like alright I got what I needed from the Past Time in this stage now I'm ready to fight Robotnik! Yeah Bring It ON! This is where I'll end the review cause you guys should play this game for yourselves and see what you think about it."Extraordinary things can happen if you believe in yourself"

Sonic Boom...Wait, what? Itachi9695
Welcome back to Sonic 2 month and today, we'll be looking at the European/Japanese version of Sonic CD. Why this particular version of the game? Because the music's better, but I'll get to that later. Sonic CD is considered by some to be the best Sonic game ever created. It's also widely considered one of the only games worth playing on the Sega CD (or Mega CD if you want to get technical about it). That said, let's dive right in to this time traveling adventure shall we?Graphics Sonic's sprite is very similar to his Sonic 1 sprite, but with a few new animations. Just about all the other sprites are completely new though, so it makes up for that. The enemies are all different from just about any previous enemies. The levels are VERY bright and colorful, except for the bad future parts of the levels. The backgrounds are very nicely done and fit with their respective stages. The special stages are in a sort of 3D mode and they look pretty good, even if the 6th one's background is extremely trippy. One thing I don't really like is the look of Eggman's (or Robotnik, I really don't care what you call him) "Eggmobile". I don't know why, but it just looks really weird in this game. Other than that though, I really like the way this game looks.Sound The music is simply amazing, at least the EU/JAP soundtrack is. I honestly really like this soundtrack over the American soundtrack. Really, the only track I liked better from the American soundtrack was the opening, I prefer "Sonic Boom" over "You Can Do Anything" a.k.a. "Toot Toot, Sonic Warrior". Other than that, this soundtrack is vastly superior to the U.S. soundtrack (by the way, this is coming from an American XD). I especially love the Stardust Speedway Bad Future music in this version and apparently, everyone else does too, I mean after all, it is this version that gets all the remixes. A very good soundtrack to say the least, but then again, this IS a Sonic game. Definitely one of the best Sonic soundtracks in history, but there are better ones in my opinion.Addictiveness This game has got this section going for it, with Past, Bad Future, and Good Future versions of each level, you're sure to come back and try to play through them all. The levels are also pretty fun to explore, definitely adding to the addicting qualities of this game. To be honest though, I don't really play this game too often, although that may simply be because the new port is very much superior in just about every way however, so I don't blame that on the game itself. It really is an addicting game and I think you'll find yourself playing this quite a few times.Story Once again, yes this game DOES have a story and so do all the classic games, it's just that you've got to read the manual in order to know what exactly the plot is, so here's my summary. While heading to Never Lake with new character, Amy (who, in the U.S. manual was mistaken for Sally somehow, gotta love American failures) to see Little Planet, which appears once a year, Sonic sees that Little Planet is chained to a giant rock. Amy is kidnapped by a mysterious figure and taken to Little Planet. Eventually realizing that Eggman was behind all of this, Sonic sets out to find not just Amy, but the Time Stones as well, which are hiding in random locations on the planet and have the power to control time (go figure right?). So there's your story, again, not a very long one, but it does its job and at least gives you Sonic's motivation.Depth There are a total of 7 levels in the game, each with 3 acts. There are also 7 Special Stages because of the 7 Time Stones. The levels are as follows: Palmtree Panic, Collision Chaos, Tidal Tempest, Quartz Quadrant, Wacky Workbench, Stardust Speedway, and Metallic Madness. There are Past, Present, and Good/Bad Future versions of each Zone to explore as well. You automatically start in the Present version (*gasp* Really? That's astonishing!) except for the third act of each stage where you're in the Future version (The Good/Bad version depends on if you either got the Time Stones or destroyed the roboticizers in the Past) and you fight the boss. Speaking of bosses, let's talk about those for just a second here. The bosses in this game are very unique compared to the bosses of Sonic 1 and 2 seeing as how in this game, it doesn't really depend on how many times you can hit him, heck, sometimes you don't even need to hit it at all. With Metal Sonic, another new character, all you do is race him. I actually like this approach to the boss fights and I really wish they'd bring back these boss fight styles in the future. The stages are also built more vertical than horizontal, so there is quite a bit to explore, but this also means it will be very tough to find some roboticizers. Each level also has time-travel signs in certain locations allowing you to go either forward or backward in time. This game definitely has a lot to offer in terms of depth, but to be completely honest, I like my Sonic levels built horizontally rather than vertically, it makes the game a bit more fun in my opinion.Difficulty This game isn't too difficult, especially after you play it a bit. The only things that really make this game difficult in any way are finding the roboticizers and the bosses, well some of them anyway. The final boss can be a bit of a pain considering there's no way to beat him without getting hit at least once (or at least no way that I know of). That's really all I've got to say about the difficulty sadly as there's really not much of it.Gameplay/Controls The controls for this game are pretty much the same as any classic Sonic game. The D-pad moves Sonic left or right and lets you look up and down. Pressing any button will allow you to jump. Pressing down while running allows you to roll. The spin dash is also in this game, but it got a very significant downgrade from Sonic 2. To spin dash, simply hold down and press any button, the part about this that's different is that in order to actually perform the spin dash, you have to let it charge completely before releasing it. The more favorable special move, which is only available in this game sadly, is the Super Peel-Out. Performing this is identical to the spin dash, except you hold up instead of down, also you don't have to wait for this one to charge completely before release. In order to travel through time, you need to find a sign that says either "Past" or "Future", then run at top speed for a certain amount of time. In order to enter Special Stages, you collect 50 rings, then jump into the giant ring at the end of the stage. The Special Stages are very different from any others however, as in these, you have to find the UFOs in random locations of the stage and destroy them within a certain time limit and touching any water in the stage will drop your time left down by 10 seconds, so try not to touch any.Overall, this is a fun experience, but to me, it's not as good as the first game. It's definitely something worth checking out, but I highly recommend the newer port as it makes just about everything better. Since we're talking about the original however, I give it an 8.5 out of 10. Join me next time for Sonic 3!

Sonic mega cd review/ SuperCrash64
this is sonic cd which was released for the sega cd im reviewing the European version/ the Sega cd was called mega cd in Europe and Japan. So that's the main reason for the title
Game intro It starts out with a song called sonic rules. And sonic footage
Plot there are two different endings you will get a good ending if you collect all emeralds were everything is back to normal. Bad ending after sonic finishes off everything robotink will use the power of the chaos emerald to chain up the planet with sonic inside it.do to him chasing metal sonic
.The main storyline is robotink is trying to take over the world. So he created metal sonic. To make sure sonic was evenly matched and robot ink hoping that sonic was defeated. So you mainly go playing as sonic in a whole bunch of different levels and most of them must be completed from the future or past part of the level. Amy ended up getting captured by metal sonic so you have to go rescue her and defeat metal sonic once and for all.
Graphics these graphics are nearly a rehash or a remake of the sonic 1 graphics. The most difference you r goanna see is the main levels while they look similar .To sonic 1 the main order track of the levels . And the past and future part of the levels are the main difference. These graphics nearly look and play the same as sonic 1 which is a good thing . Because those graphics were great sharp and colorful for a genesis launch title. Graphics gets a 10. Nearly a rehash of sonic 1 with some minor changes
Game play the game play of sonic cd is also nearly the same as sonic 1 which was solid and good to begin with so no nit picking with the controls were needed.
Sound again most sound effects are a rehash of the original sonic one game. Soundtrack the beginng intro just sounds too 90s i understand this was a 1990s game . but the intro singer is just awful. For the rest of the soundtrack is rather well done and takes advantage of the neat extra cd hardware that the Sega cd offered. Sound gets a 9
Addictiveness the fast paced action was the main point of the game. just like sonic 1. Infect this game was one of the main selling point of the Sega cd. i still like the fast paced speed. of it . Thank Sega for blast processing lol. Addictiveness gets a 8 the bad endings will just get irrating . But this game is still fun nonetheless
Story I explained the good and bad endings as well of the main storyline . This storyline was somewhat different from the other Sega genesis sonic titles . Considering its release. Story gets a 6 not a bad story but its nearly nothing that different it mainly involves sonic and robot ink trying to stop one another.
Depth while I did find a music part of the game. The most part is your gonna see is the huge vairety of playable levels. Also if your good at translating Japanese text there it will a code allowing you to get a creepy sonic picture . I have not got it but I have seen it and boy it looks creepy. Depth gets a 10 pretty long game.
Difficulty 5 I didn't find the game that hard. You may differ from me because its dependant on how well you play the game. In general I didn't find it that hard. And the controls are very responsive and work well.
Overall ratings 9.7 great game play nice colorful graphics. Bad intro singer :P .Great soundtrack. Good looking footage in the intro with the Sega cd s full motion video hardware.
edited the spacing. problem. edited crappy to creepy that was by accident to do spellcheck

Good but honestly overrated. TheBookieman
Sonic CD was a bit part of my childhood. I used to play it all the time on my old computer. I never owned a Genesis or a Sega CD so that was one of the few Sonic games I owned. I have to say playing it now? It hasn't aged well but still has a lot of charm.
I often hear this get touted as "The best Sonic game ever." I have to respectively disagree there. Its indeed a solid game but has its fair share of flaws. For one the level design in places of just...bad. Full of cheap enemies and hazards you couldn't possibly see coming. And honestly it ruins the pace of some levels. And two is the time travel mechanic, while a novel idea it honestly kind of falls flat. It makes you have to back track and play a scavenger hunt to get a good ending, I feel that's not what a Sonic game should be but that's just me. Though the bonus stages can elevate that.
On the plus side that game has one thing in spades and that's presentation and I think that's what a lot of people remember. From the amazing music to the well animated FMVs, this game is an experience. The levels are very creative and diverse and the boss fights with Robotnik are also very unique and memorable if a bit on the easy side.
Overall I feel the game is a bit more style over substance but its in no way a bad game. Just..when compared to other Sonic games like Sonic 3 it just doesn't hold up, though still a very solid entry in the series.
