This game is unbelivable. Sonic 1 Megamix is actually a hacked game made by Sonic fans that introduces a lot of new features,moves,characters,and,replaces all the scenery of the game. This game is much better than the Original Sonic The Hedgehog,it doesn't actually even feels like it's old.You can play as 5 different characters,and they all play very differently. Mighty has the capability to store shields,Tails can Fly,Sonic is fast and has a lot of moves,Shadow is beast when he has all 7 chaos emeralds,and so on. You have to play as each one of those,then you will understand just how deep this game is. The graphics were highly enhanced,as well as the soundtrack,which got new songs. Now,each act has it's own song,and it's not like Act 1,2 and 3 have all the same song.There is more variety in the stages,as they have been re-designed for gameplay with all the characters.You can also change a ton of options,which is somenthing that also wasn't possible in the old original one. This game is long and full of secrets,and if you manage to find all of them,well,congratulations! But it is also a game with a gentle learning curve. It starts rather easy,but then becomes a little harder than usual.If you're a regular Sonic player,you will have no problem zooming through those stages. It is just impressive how much work they've done with this game;Megamix feels like an entirely different game! It certainly doesn't feels like your regular Sonic game,it feels more like they've added the GBA features into this. You know,those ones from Sonic Advance...well,i highly recommend you to play it.If you have never played anything before,you will get instantly addicted to this. The only problems might be a few annoyning bugs that this game has,which will impede the player's further progress. What did you expect,a perfect game? But with time,maybe we will get the perfect Sonic game...one day...

"Sonic MegaMix. Ahhh... one of my favourite hacks. Even today. Hang on! Its for SEGA CD now?! OMG I MUST TRY THIS!" I was like. Now, I MUST review this. Lets do it.Graphics - 9. The level design is amazing. Also the characters. It makes a whole new feel to Sonic. You could even play the original with new abilities!Sound - 10! An amazing 10. Why? 3 reasons. 1 - The music changes every act. So no repeated songs. Kinda like Sonic 3. 2 - Some songs aren't ported from other games to here. BIG PLUS. And 3 - The music suits the kind of level/zone.

Addictiveness - 10! THIS GAME WILL KEEP YOU OCCUPIED. FOREVER.

Story - 1. Reason is, its the same old story. Eggman/Robotnik/whatever wants to destroy the world and Sonic goes to the rescue.

Depth: 10! (again lol) This game is pretty big. Even for A SEGA CD game. (FACT: This game is pirated for Sega Genesis. :D)

Difficulty: 5. Its one of those "easy to learn, harder to master" type of games.

Overall: 9.3. Phew. Glad that is over.  This game is really fun, and I encourage you to try it. Go on.

                                       Sonic Megamix Beta 4.0 (Sega CD) Review        Sonic Megamix is considered the Holy Grail of Sonic hacking, It is one of the best and most featured Sonic hacks ever made, if you could only Play one Sonic hack, this would be it. The Game play exactly like Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, or 3. Your objective is to defeat Dr. Robotnick and foil his plans from taking over the world. There are completely new Zones, New characters, and new moves, yes sir, this is quite a great game, let's get this review under way.-GRAPHICS- 8     I have always liked how the Graphics looked in Sonic titles, and this Hack shows it in an even better light. all of the Characters look right.The newly added Shadow looks perfect, and the zones just, flow very nicely with the changed pallets and levels. You really have to give credit to Dark Fortress in this game because it was a MAJOR improvement over the one found in Megamix 3.0, It looks way better, you go way faster,and it just looks awesome. The latter Zones look exactly the same as that in 3.0 (from City outskirts to Metallic base) but, they look kind of dull in perspective to the earlier levels, City Outskirts looks like a yellow spring yard zone, and Starry Speedway looks like a blue Starlight Zone. This will not last though, it will change in the next release (by the way, beta 4.0 is NOT an official release) and ill look better.-SOUND/MUSIC- 9    I simply LOVE the music in this game, every act of each zone has different music (some ported from other Sonic titles) and Every Character has their own theme for Game completion and Invincibility. Their are over 70 tunes (if I recall correctly) and most of them are original or remakes of past songs. My personal favorite is Sunny Shores Act 3 (Back with a Vengeance) and Misty Maze Act 1 (original make). -STORY- 6    The story is simple, but is a little more then you first see, Sonic sees that Dr. Robotinck is causing trouble again, This time he has built a base on south island and plans to take over the world. Sonic calls up his long time friend Mighty the Armadillo (thought they have not spoken for quite some time) to help him stop the evil doctor, Shadow decides that he needs an adventure and that he wants to show Robotnick who is boss, And decided, he has heard about South island but has never seen the place himself, so he thought, Why not? So the three go their own separate ways and must stop robotnick!-DEPTH- 10    Oh my Goodness, there is SO much depth to this game that I could faint. There are two ways to play the game, Megamix, and Original. Megamix is the standard way to play the game, You go through South Island and defeat Robotnick, there are 6 Zones, Sunny Shores, Dark Fortress, City Outskirts, Misty Maze, Starry Speedway, and Metallic Base. Their are the traditional 3 acts like in Sonic 1. So by now your asking "what makes this hack so special?" well, you get to play through the game as 5 different characters, Sonic, Shadow, Mighty, Tails, and Knuckles. that really packs on some more time to put into this game, and the levels are not just 30 seconds are long either,  they are lengthy and difficult, but It's difficult as in Trying to go fast Difficult, No, the game isn't based on speed like Sonic Generations is, their is a "need for speed" theme throughout the entire game. This applies mostly to sonic because the has a fierce homing attack/air dash that propels you through the air with super speed. This leads me to my next point, the homing attack.    I know that some dislike Retro Sonic using the homing attack, but, honestly I like how they did it in this hack, the reason is that the is does not take away from the difficulty, in fact, the homing attack has lead to my demise more then not. I keep homing in on spikes and endless pits. . . ( not that Sonic will target them, but if you just carelessly dash around you will kill yourself) Now that I'm WAY off topic, let's get back on track. The game has another Mode, it is called Original Mode, in this mode you play through the original game, Sonic 1, as Sonic, Shadow, or any of the other characters, (with all of the abilities that they have!)    And also their are may options that cam be changed, like the camera angle, the Spike bug, super Sonic music. Just adding all that little extras really make this game a golden nugget. I loved it for this. Oh, and one more thing, their is a secret mode if you play through the game once  and do it again as the same character. -ADDICTIVENESS- 9    Because you can play through the game is Original mode or Megamix mode, as 5 different characters their is a LOT to offer, and I have play through Megamix mode as all of the characters, and normal mode as sonic. I just cannot put this game down until I complete the game at least once per play session! I must have put at least 15 Hours into this title beating the game as all the characters and trying out the secret level select along with playing through the original game as Sonic and mighty, that is an addictive game! -DIFFICULTY- 7   The game is difficult, but I honestly didn't have that much trouble with it, because I am a big retro Sonic fan, but you will need to put on a good show if you want to beat the last Zone. Though the final boss is really easy for some odd reason. . . .-OVERALL- 10   In a single sentence, it is the best hack I have EVER played. You will not regret it if you pick up this title. Period.

Megamixing the Sonic: Sonic Megamix GEN and SCD   mariosonic123
In 1994, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles got a final score of a skyrocketing 10 OUT OF 10, the colors are beautiful, the music is catchy, and It has the perfect control for a Sonic game, and now a couple years later, Sonic Retro released a Rom hack for the Sega Genesis, and the Sega Cd. What I'm going to do here is that I'm going to tell you my experiences with the game(s) and tell you how much I love this game, no cussing or classic translations allowed, while the original games hold presence, we well be looking at the modern Sonic from 1998-2013 (today). So let's get this over with okay?Graphics: 9The graphics are AMAZING!!! The graphics are fond of the Genesis games and new additions, colors, and scenery within the game, the animations are SUPERB!!! The animations were implemented carefully if not stolen and/or used by other Sonic games, as a result, this game's graphics, sprites, and scenery are colorful and vibrant like a smack to Sonic 1,2,3 and Knuckles. However, due to the graphics style of the game can sometimes get out of control and can even crash your game if the save states (and possibly the gameplay) can get too hasty and impatient :/Sound: 10!!!The sound and music is AMAZING!!! The nature of the sound, again take back to the original genesis games...most of the time, when Sonic gets a 1up, the 1up tune plays, and after it, Sonic says "Yes!" but that doesn't matter. The music is CATHCY and NOSTALGIC!!! The tunes were from not just Sonic games, but from other series as well, such as Dyna Bros. Or Mega Man, and even snuck in some Michael Jackson music as a bonus. :DAddictiveness: 9Not much to say, but the nature and physics of this game will blow your mind and keep you in the game forever with promising box art in BOTH VERSIONS!!!Story: 6The story doesn't have much to offer, but of how much it offers it's a-okay, and it's classic!!! The story is that an evil scientist named Dr. Robotnik kidnapped the animals of South Island and turn them all into a big robot army to hunt the seven chaos emeralds so Robotnik can take over the World!!! Now Sonic and friends have to save em'...:/Depth and Gameplay: 10!!!THE GAME HAS TOO MUCH TO OFFER AND THE GAMEPLAY IS TOTALLY AWWWEEESOOMMMEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Whew! Anyway, the gameplay is not your traditional Sonic Genesis Eskimo, instead they took the modern version of Sonic the Hedgehog and made it 100x better, for real! Sonic can do the homing attack, light speed dash, and jump dash. Shadow (yeah, Shadow) can do the homing attack as well but can do a Sonic R like Double Jump and that second jump is as high as regular jump making you catch insane air time. Mighty is just like Sonic from Sonic 3 but he can do a Ninja Gaiden like wall jump. And finally Tails can fly, and Knuckles can glide and climb walls but is not a fast or jumps as high as any other of the characters. Now for the stages, Reminder: You have an option of changing the control scheme to the Original Sonic 1 and change the stages to Sonic 1 style rather than the Megamix style. Sunny Shores Zone, this is the good future of GHZ, Dark Fortress Zone, a dark bleak place that's like the MZ on crack, City Outskirts Zone, alot of the words are the name of the game, the creators names, and just messing around on the Genesis version, I think its Labyrinth Ruins, 80% of the stage is water so keep watch of your breath and for a water level the background is angel island and there's water underwater, where's my hypothermia Sonic Retro? Star Bright Zone, If you get the joke of a comparison, then there's lots of speed and loops, Metallic Madness Zone, The final zone of the game and has awesome music!!! There is also a Debug Level select code that lets you go anywhere in the game.Difficulty: 6The difficulty in the Sega Cd version is slightly easy and the Genesis had Dark Fortress Zone as the Hardest Zone in the game and last zone in both versions was and is not as hard and the final boss tried to make it harder but just as less of a challenge for experienced gamers. No offense but Sonic Retro did great on the level design but as poorly when it comes to difficulty. Sorry... :(Overall: Genesis 8.5/10 Sega CD 10/10/10/10!!!!!Outstanding Graphics, Great Sound, Fantastic Control, Amazing Gameplay, and Extreme Depth!!! Sonic Retro Knew what they were doing and as a result, they made the best Sonic Game Ever, even though the Genesis Version doesn't have as much depth and is more glicthy, as before but this is still an extremely memorable game to date and I enjoyed playing and my final scoreMARIOSONIC123...OUT!!!

Hello and welcome to my first review!   Today, I'm reviewing my favourite Sonic game! SONIC MEGAMIX!Graphics - 9 The graphics look great and I'll bet that you will love the graphics too! All the sprites are better than the beta before that!Sound - 9The music just fits in with the zone. The music is awesome and I love it! There is even a menu where you can see all the pianos play the awesome songs!Addictiveness - 10Once you start playing this game you will never want to leave it! That's how awesome the game is!Story - 2It's just the same old story: Dr Robotnik is trapping animals in robotic suits and capsules and Sonic has to go rescuing them.Depth - 8There is 5 characters (Sonic, Shadow,Mighty,Tails and Knuckles), 6 Zones each with 3 acts (Sunny Shores, Dark Fortress, City Outskirts, Misty Maze, Starry Night and Metallic Base) with many enemies and obstacles that you'll encounter on the way.This game is full of it! Sadly this game is not complete. I'd love to see what's next!  Difficulty - 6Although it might sound easy, as soon as I get to the Dark Fortress Zone, it gets so hard.Overall - 9This game is full of action and it is very fun. It has some glitches but you'll get over 'em because it offers you heaps. I'd firmly recommend this game to experienced Sonic fans! Now go ahead! You know you want to!

This game is awesome it's the best Sonic hack for the Sega CD and one of my favorites. This is better than Sonic CD itself. I do not regret playing it is the best Sonic hack ever made.  The graphics for this game is awesome. I really like the graphics. It is a real addicting game. It is so far the best Sonic hack. Played another hack but I like this one better.  The sound on this game is awesome  This is a pretty hard game. If I had to compare this game with Sonic CD I would choose this
