Radar Mission Review by: mlb789 - 5/10

Radar Mission: Also Known as Battleship
Radar Mission is a very bad copy of the game Battleship.  If you do not know about Battleship, it is a board game that was created in 1943.  Little did they know that 47 years later the game would be horribly re-created into a video game for the Game Boy system.  In Radar Mission you try to guess where the opponents "ships" are in the "sea".  This creates a very boring atmosphere where you manage to guess everywhere BUT where the ships are, making you lose to the easiest difficulty COM.  There are only three things that differentiate this game from the classic board game Battleship.
1. This is electronic.
2. There are characters to choose from.
3. There is an extra game mode that makes no sense to me at all.

Graphics 5:  These graphics are not horrible, but are not good either.  They match exactly par with the system and the quality of the system.

Sound 5:  The sounds in this game annoy me.  They are too static and drive me insane at some points when I play.  Not only that, but they are not diverse and are repetitive, which is usually not good for a game.

Addictiveness 4:  This game is less addictive than it's board game counterpart.  There is no human to interact with, and on top of that, you just will not get the thrill from defeating a random COM as opposed to demolishing your friends over and over again.  You will probably play this game a few times, but then sell it for a few viz and never play it again.

Story :  There could never be a story to Battleship, unless you want to cliché it so much that you make the game "beatable".  This should never be how the game should be played.

Depth 4:  The game is about as deep as a kiddie pool.  There are two game modes where you do the same thing over and over again.  This game makes me think that the developers TRIED to make this game as horrible as possible.  There is almost no way that they could have made a worse remake of Battleship.

Difficulty 7:  This game is so frustratingly stupid that it is actually difficult.  You could guess everywhere and still not get a hit on any ship.  Not only that, but I have trouble knowing where to go in the other game mode.  This game only saves itself in how difficult it is.

Overall 5:  This is the first game I have rated under a 6.  The game is really this bad.  The fact that they could not improve on a remake of a BOARD game is absolutely puzzling.  I have never seen a game that has prevented me from having fun when I played it.  The only reason I would recommend this game to someone is if you really want a portable battleship game, in which case I would still stick to the small handheld board games that you can buy today.
