I never imagined myself saying this, but this is the absolute worst hack(Pokémon wise) on Vizzed. The only thing that really made me interested in this hack in the first place was the fact that there is a mew on the cover. This hack is mediocre and highly immature because for one thing Oak swears and quite frankly it wasn't funny nor was it entertaining to me, and also if you battle certain trainers the game will freeze and send you back to the main menu.
Graphics: I gave a 4 because the game will freeze when you battle certain trainers, some Pokémon were glitchy and hard to make out, the only reason why it got that high of a rating anyways was because this game is based off of Game Boy Advanced graphics.
Sound:I gave a 4 because Pokémon battle cries were changed in a highly unappealing way.
Addictiveness: I gave a 1 because
I will never play this game ever again nor will I likely play anything made by it's creator
EVER. This is because Pokémon stats, move sets and types don't match or come close to what they are suppose to be ALL.
Story: well basically the story goes no where and tanks fast, the story is suppose to be that team rocket has taken over the region, and are enslaving Pokémon.
Depth: I gave a 1 because this game offers nothing, no reason to continue playing after 10 minutes into it, the only reason I did is so I could write a accurate review of it.
Difficulty: I gave an 8 because of the constant fear of battling one of the many trainers that can freeze your game and send you back to the main menu, the very difficult landscape that makes navigation nearly impossible, also because you really don't know what type of Pokémon you could end up with because the creator blindly mixed and matched the Pokémon types with random Pokémon which made making a well balanced team hard.
Well this hack is terrible, I would recommend it to no one, this is not a hack that gamers would appreciate and enjoy, or thank/praise the creator for making.

Just giving a bit of constructive criticism... (I'm actually being a bit more merciful and giving Pokemon Dark Cry a 0.3 instead of my original rating of 0.1. You're welcome.)
Pokemon Dark Cry is probably one of the worst hacks I've played. (No offense to the few who do like it, and the creator.)
This hack was probably made in, what, 2 hours?. If the creator didn't have so many grammar errors, I would've rated it higher. Most moves, for some reason, does only 1 damage to a lot of Pokemon. Also, from what I've seen and heard, it's practically impossible to catch Pokemon in the hack.
(Like I said before, no offense to those who like Pokemon Dark Cry, and the creator of it as well.)
Ratings:
Graphics: GBA + DS = A no go.
Sound: Vanilla GBA Pokemon sounds. Nothing too special.
Addictiveness: OK, so some guy asks me if I wanted to play this again, and I said, "Yeah...no."
Story: Basic Pokemon story with some twists. Nothing too special.
Depth: Not much in it...
Difficulty: Like I said before, most moves deal 1 damage to many Pokemon, plus the fact that it's practically impossible to catch anything in Pokemon Dark Cry.
All in all, Pokemon Dark Cry is a huge waste of time.
I apologize to those who do like this game, and you can flame me all you want. (Just going to ignore it anyway...)

Pokemon Dark Cry Version...Why was the rating so low? Ill tell you and ill start with the first thing that bugged me, your character. I picked a girl because the guys character has a large head in the screenshots and that didnt bother me much but the girl glitches every time she walks! Her hat changes and its kinda of annoying. Secondly, not that i mind alittle immature-ness but with the bad grammar and language that does not fit the games story or part of dialogue whatsoever, it brings the games intrest and replay value way down. on the good side, it has a custom story and brings some personality to the games engine. But for me, i could barely play the first twenty to thirty minutes of this game without wanting to shut it off. So if you like hacked pokemon storylines go for it cause i like hacked games but this one is not for me and i dont recommend it.

Pokemon hacks are not to be looked down upon. jellomanz
For all of you who don't like Pokemon hacks and speak poorly/offensively about them why don't you try making a pokemon game. The cursing and grammar in this hack (Pokemon dark cry) is bad but still it is hard to make a game thats why nintendo makes them not hackers. Besides people who literally curse at Pokemon hacks or any other hack because of glitches and errors. Pokemon Dark Cry is just just like any other game. The only difference is that its creators are not Nintendo or Game freak. I think Pokemon Dark Cry is a good hack overall once you figure out how o bypass some glitches you can easily enjoy the game. One thing that really makes this game stand out is the fact that it uses the 4th generation of Pokemon and its GBA compatible. Considering the fact that this game is a hack I would give it an 8/10. Feel free to say what you think about Pokemon Dark Cry. However please keep in mind that this is a hack and it shouldn't be looked down upon just for that fact. ;)

For those who might say this game is hard I agree with you. One sheer fact about this game is that you can buy safari balls in the store ,I mean really that the safari balls can be bought?! I don't know why the person added in inappropriate words if which a 5 year old said to he/she's parents then he/she's parents would be so upset because of the fact that the child who said inappropriate words they shouldn't be repeating from this game. But I'm not trying to insult the game, but just hear me out I love the game but I think kids under the age of 10 shouldn't play this game because of the inappropriate words said in this game. (I'm not trying to insult or offend this game at all.)

After reading the comments, I expected worse.
First of all, the unnecessarily vulgar language, grammatical errors and misspelled words in the instruction stand out.
The girl form changes her face/hat depending on the direction and therefore flickers while running. It is similar with the tall grass. You can run through some signs and rocks.
For reasons that are not clear, the Pokemon cannot evolve. The Pokemon have only been roughly
replaced. Calls belong to the layer pokemon, as well as moveset and types. For example, Piplup is mudkip and chatot is skarmory.
There are rocket members scattered all over the map, whose messages were
inserted by copy and paste and are constantly repeated. Even non-rocket members often say to you, "get lost." The story is shallow and there was no/barely any integration so far (got the first badge). I would not play the hack again like this.
The graphics and music seem to be mostly the same as the original, and except for some clipping errors, there were no problems. The game ran smoothly on my emulator. There were no crashes and the difficulty was the same as the original.

The first thing I read is the reason it is 'mature'. This game has the worst spelling and grammar mistakes, those need to be fixed.
Overall rating: 0.1, Like I said, bad grammar, spelling, and professor from the start.
Graphics: 6, Not too shabby, I guess. Plenty of glitches.
Addictiveness: 0, This must have been a joke or something. I'll never play joke games like this ever again.
Story: 0, All you see in the beginning is an angry professor, cussing in text talk, which makes you want to give up there. It's immature.
Depth: 0, read above
Difficulty: 5, It isn't hard, but isn't easy, so right in between.
Altogether, I'll never play this again, and I suggest you never play it. Don't, it's horrible.

I decided to give this game a try even though I saw the horrible reviews and comments. I got really far in the game BUT only got inside ONE gym (Brock). You get a chance to catch pokemon over level 50, when you are still stuck in the part of the game that everyone else you battle has level 20 and below pokemon.This game is out of order and poorly made up. Yes this game was addictive, spent hours on it. But the farther I got, the harder it became. I received an HM that I could not even use, so I got stuck in the game with no where else to go. You get very far in the game and only beat one gym, when there is no way to even enter the other 2 gyms that you see. Everyone is right, don't waste your time playing this, you will get nowhere.

So I started to play this and I got about an hour into it or so and I was almost excited to play it until I noticed this hack needed some major work. While unlike some people who have had trainers that would freeze their game [which fortunately never happened to me] I did notice a few things not right in the eyes of a Pokémon game player such as myself.
Graphics 5: The graphics got a five because it is the same stuff just jumbled around into this big mess no custom tile set as it claims. Plus I really wanted to use Shinx but a normal one when YOU [the trainer not finding it in the wild] use it is shiny. Don't get me wrong here it just bugs me. What bugs me more is that the front legs of the shinx is a jumbled, pixelated mess.
Sound 2: The sound for the most part was normal, until you got your Pokémon. The cries of that Pokémon match the ones they hack over all they did was give the Pokémon a different name and picture. Shinx sounded like the cry of a tododile, Chimchar- Torchic, Chatot - Skarmory. They also have every other trait the base Pokémon did. So basically you Infernape would have Blaziken stats, moves and the cry. Should I even go on here.
Addictiveness/ Story/ Depth 1: All of these deserved a one. Look at the flaws mentioned above - things like that bug me. Even aside the flaws the story wasn't interesting to me enough to even get into it. The story ruined the depth here making my depth rating biased.
Overall 4: I wasn't to harsh on the scoring here. Aside from all the flaws if you're any good at Pokémon this can be an ok and unique way to kill time. Especially if you played all the base games a lot like I have. Just don't be picky and don't view your Pokémon as the picture it is view it as the base Pokémon. Don't be picky/ choosy. All I can say is this, unlike other people who are super picky about their reviews, this obviously was a noob hackers idea of good. I'm not going to say I won't download another hack of his because that's just wrong. Someone who knows how to hack Pokémon games teach him to make better hacks.

Graphics 7/10: I rated the graphics this for two reasons; one is that they kept the great original graphics and they created a new sprite. Nice one!
Sound 7/10: The sound is okay since they made new music.
Addictiveness 7/10: No offence but I will not be playing this again. This is due to glitches. (Talking to a certain character crashes the game)
Story 6/10: The story is okay. At least they tried and didn't just keep the same story and added a ton of level 100 Pokémon in the wild. However I was a little confused.
Depth 8/10: I rated this like that since it is about the same length of an official Pokemon game.
Difficulty 9/10: It is quite hard for two reasons. One is that there are a few really bad glitches and the enemy Pokemon can be over levelled some times.
Overall 3.7/10: This would've been really cool but the glitches mess it up.

Not Worth Playing StJimmy1337
This game was just a complete waste of time. There was little point in playing it at all. If you're going to attempt to make a hack of a game, at least make it a decent hack. The grammar to a game, no matter if it's a hack or not, should not be that of a five year old child. Also, if you're going to remap a game, make sure you do it right. The Pokémon only had changed sprites and changed names. There actual programming was not altered in the slightest in the small amount of this game I could stomach to play. Pound should not receive the response "it's not very effective" against a Chatot. That makes no sense. At least attempt to change the game properly before making it public.
If asked if I would play this again, I would respond instantly with a no. No hesitation whatsoever.
Also, if someone asks me for a recommendation on whether to play this game or not, I would tell them to stay away from this game and not even attempt to play this, not even just to see how it plays. It's not worth it in the slightest.

Not so good... xXBad-Influence..
This game, clearly a hack. First off, the graphics honestly make me sick that someone would make this a game. Example, in the game they used Prof. OAK as the picture, but it wasn't even him talking. Not to mention the characters look as if someone took something from Bomber and put it in there. The sound was alright, for a hack. It had the normal Pokémon music. I wasn't all that crazy about this game, it was as addicting as watching paint dry, but only because of the graphics of the characters. It barely had a story, and this game had barely anything to offer accept a good laugh. The difficulty is not as intense as the original Pokémon games. So I gave it a four. Not to mention even the Grammar is just plain terrible.

Pokemon Dark cry... Tyrna
Let's see... First of all, I want to start by saying that 'Shinx' must seriously be repaired, I though I caught an electric Pokémon, guess what, it wasn't at all, it was a Totodile, his skills are equal to his, and when he finally evolves to Luxio, the croconow sprite actually appears in the Pokémon statue menu. Anyways, just like that one, there are a lot of map glitches and npc glitches as well..., I've played for like 2-3 hours now, and I've seen more than 15 map glitches, and more than 3 npc glitches. Really, the one who made this game should really fix those, I bet there aren't as much as I think they are in the entire game, so I suppose it won't take him a lot of time just to actually 'Finish' his game. Other than that, I found this game very interesting, really smart showing mewtwo at the start of the game to give us that motivation to defeat the Elite Four. Really sweet and vivid map, new dungeons and events, really sweet.
