Mortal kombat Megadrive review. SuperCrash64
Alright this is the genesis Port of Mk1 . I will not start with a intro.
Plot a Shalion Dragon/human by The Name of Goro Had Defeated The Great Kung Lao . And Retained his championship For 500 years. Goro Then Becamed Corrupt by Shang Tsungs Sorcery . The Reason for This Was Shang Tsung got Banished Into the Earth realm By his Master Shao khan of The out world . And since Shang Tsung had Corrupted Goro To make him come to his aid. Shang tsung was ordered by Shao Khan to Unbalance the Furies of Earth realm. And Doom the Planet to A Chaotic existence . So Now you Must Pick 1 of 7 Mortal Kombat characters. And Defeat Shang Tsung to Save Earth realm .
. Graphics Alright Taking a look at the Genesis Version of The Mortal kombat game . well again This game was Made by Probe Software which was a pretty sloppy company back in the day. As fair as the genesis port goes. Sprites or Characters are missing some frames making the characters. Move about 1 or 2 parts of frame animations. And Some details like The Mountains in The Courtyard And The animated clouds In The Shaolin Temple had been removed. But if you actually look at it game The Sprites rather are not that bad and Stages are really colorful and although some details are missing the stages are still nice looking. Graphics gets a 7 for the reason said above .
Sound. Probe software somehow could not include the arcade sound effects. Which Does not make sense even with Mortal kombat 3 on the system sounding Scratchy .Sculptured software managed to include some of the arcade Sound effects from that game. there Are about few voices you get in the game. Which kind of takes away the fun and Greatness of The original Mortal Kombat game I mean The grunts and screams are 1 of the main features that made Mortal kombat great. Moving on from the Few little Samples Included in this console port. Probe software Rather made a really nice and arranged or remixed soundtrack . That takes advantage of the Genesis.S Midi Format Capabilities and the Yama Sound chip. My favorite tune is The Courtyard. If you would ask me how good the music sounds. I cant really find a good way of Describing it. Its best you Google 1 of the genesis songs. Sound gets a 7 Although lacking a lot of samples. The Music is really rather well done.
Addictiveness Some may say that The smd port of this port takes away the experience but I always enjoyed mortal kombat for its fun responive controls good soundtrack . oh yeah and most importantly the gore. Addictiveness gets a 10 even when you beat the game it just seems like you would wanna play more .
Story explained it in Plot I rate the story a 7 not a bad story line
Depth Really not much to say about depth in this game . Besides a cheat menu , But it actually seems that The genesis port or The actual arcade original Mortal kombat was meant to be beaten in 1 sitting u basically get like 13 matches. Then the final bosses . Depth gets a 6 its between short and long.
Difficulty 3. I'm not joking but This port is very easy .Even on hard. As I Said before t seems Like mk1 was meant to be beaten in 1 sitting. Controls are perfect for this game with the 6 button layout. They are very responsive
Overall 8.2 is my final rating. For This game until next time keep an eye out for more reviewing

Mortal Kombat for Sega Genesis yankeefan10
What can I say about this game, this game, originally was known for great gameplay, a good story, and very addictive to play. Mortal Kombat has been giving people great games almost all the time, and this game is no exception. The graphics for this game are not great nor fantastic, but decent overall, although the graphics are not that good, I will put into consideration the graphic capabilities of the genesis, the graphics do not prove to be problem for me. The sound for this game is actually pretty good, the music is fantastic, but the sounds themselves are a bit scratchy, once again I realize the sound capabilities for the genesis, but it is good to see they tried to pull something off with the genesis capabilities. The game's addictiveness and gameplay of a game is the most important thing for a game company to focus on, the addictiveness and gameplay for the game is completely fantastic, I love it, the controls and the responsiveness is also spot on, no one will have a problem playing this game, it's sometimes easy and fun. The story for this game is probably something that everyone already knows, so i'm not into detail. I will say that the story is big and really good, the endings for each character in Mortal Kombat further tell more about the character, and what they did, or wanted. The depth for this game is not that deep, although the depth is pretty small, this game has things to offer, but they're very slim. The difficulty for this game is about 5/10 which means not so hard, but still gives you a challenge so it's not boring to play if you're a master at it. Overall this game for me is a 9/10 I highly recommend this game for people that feel like playing a fighting game or someone that feels nostalgic.

mk rieview hammy4023
Well
Mk is a 1992 fighting-game developed and published by Midway for arcades. In 1993, home versions were released by Acclaim Entertainment. It is the first title in the Mortal kombat series. Upon release, Mortal kombat
became one of the most popular arcade games of all time. It was
subsequently ported to home video game consoles and became a
best-selling game. Mortal kombat also became one of the most
controversial video games, for its depiction of gore and violence using
realistic digitized graphics.[1][2][3][4]
Mortal kombat focuses on the journey of the monk Liu Kang to save Earth from the evil sorcerer Shang tsung,
ending with their confrontation on the tournament known as Mortal
kombat. The game spawned numerous sequels, as well as a successful 1995 motion picture adaptation, and is one of the most popular fighting games to date. It is an cool game :D

FIGHT!! deftone29
The original the classic Mortal Kombat. Personally I feel the music and sound of the sega genesis was far superior to that of the snes version, however the graphical quality of the snes was far better and already had its sights on the future. The blood was A big deal in those days I remember the news outcry to ban this game.. lol seems funny now. As far as overall comparisons go I have to give mortal kombat 1 to the sega just for the simple fact that they used blood and snes didn't. Eventually the snes had to follow suit or they would have been left behind, the snes version was A much more fun game for some reason even though they are almost identical. So if you were from this era of gaming or before it, (im from 87-90's gaming nes-snes-sega-sega cd-n64 era) you have to appreciate what mortal kombat was going for, not just a fighting game but a leap forward in the freedom of game studios to creatively think of new and fun ways to raise the bar. I will always have a special place for mortal kombat 1 in my game collection, but if your A new player just playing this game for the first time (I dont see how thats possible) if playing the sega version just hit that abacabb blood code at the story screen and let the good times roll.. Well for at least A couple hours : )

Mortal Kombat review Yona_db
Graphics:
Very good looking character models and stages. Although not arcade perfect, they surely look good enough. Arena, the company that ported Mortal Kombat 1 to the Sega Genesis, did a great job re creating everything from the arcade. The blood and gore looks great, too, as do the fatalities. But there will be no blood and gore unless you put in a certain cheat code during the, “Code of Honor” screen. Just put in A, B, A, C, A, B, B. Not only does that code gives you blood, it also lets the characters perform their original, uncut, arcade fatalities. That code alone makes the game ten times better then it normally would be.
Sound:
There aren't many voice overs in this game, but the one's that are there, however, sound good. The only words that are spoken are, “Fight!”, “Finish Him!”, “Get Over Here!”, “Come Here!”, “Excellent!”, and various grunts by the characters. None of the character's names are spoken, and the announcer doesn't even say “Fatality”! That takes off a good four points in my book. The words aren't crystal clear, but they're good enough for a sixteen bit game

MK Mega Drive Review dazzsheil
Oh God.....not THIS One...I'm going to get boycotted now. Mortal Kombat for the SNES Was a great game. Mortal Kombat for the Mega Drive is a Mediocre game. While not the worst port of MK (Look at the Game Boy/ Master System Versions) it is terribly flawed BUT Does have what makes an MK Game....BLOOD!
GRAPHICS: Pitiful for A Mega Drive Game.Animations are OK And unlike the SNES Version there is blood but this games has Unruly Graphics.
SOUND: The voice acting is okay, for Mega Drive and it does have a very catchy but VERY REPETITVE TITLE THEME! Not much to show off the MD'S Audio capabilities.
ADDICTIVENESS: Honestly this game has a great fighting engine and is very addictive. This is where the game shines.
STORY: As with my SNES Mortal Kombat Review,i complained that this game, and I'm quoting from my SNES Review now," H
as a lackluster and painfully boring story"
DEPTH: Unlike the SNES Version there's cheats....lots of em....and reptile...and not much else
DIFFICULTY: Zelda II Is a cakewalk compared to this godawfuly difficult game.
OVERALL: I went into MK For the Mega Drive full of hope. I was wrong. Just because a game has blood does not Mean that it has to be great. I Give Mortal Kombat for the Sega Mega Drive a Mediocre 5/10
