Megaman Zero 1 Review   Sairek Ceareste
Megaman Zero is a game that takes place one century after the Megaman X series.
The story begins with a small group that is part of the Resistance force is being chased down by an army that is owned by Neo Arcadia; a group that has been created for the survival of humans due to a large world wide energy shortage.
The Resistance group being ambushed while trying to look for the legendary Reploid, 'Zero' accidentally find him when only a few surviving members make their way into an abandoned underground lab, where a badly damaged Zero lays. However, he is unconscious and inactive.
The Neo Arcadian forces find them however and all the members are wiped out except for a human female scientist by the name of Ciel and a small little program that is her partner named 'Passy' who is a Cyber elf; a program data entity created by the Resistance group's best and latest technology.
To make sure her partner will not die, Passy sacrifices herself by spending all of her energy in resurrecting Zero. Ciel pleads for Zero's help, and does so by aiding her in escaping the clutches of the Neo Arcadian forces and helping her back to the Resistance base. This begins the story of the Megaman Zero series.
Graphics: 7
The animation in Megaman Zero at many points is lack luster. The animation when playing Zero himself is extremely good, especially for being a gameboy advance game where his running animation alone has nine frames; most games usually got with only five frames of animation, or sometimes even only three. However, the animation on a lot of enemies only have two or three frames for movement and it is very rare that enemies, or even bosses, have any idle animations to them at all. NPCs too, suffer from this, sometimes only have four sprites in the entire character (not including inverting the sprite to look in a different direction).
The game features faces for dialogue to show who is talking. The artwork doesn't look 'bad' exactly, but it looks very dirty and gritty like it was an artwork painting. With the size the dialogue boxes are with the artwork, they had plenty of space to make these look better.
Throughout the game, you get complete artwork of a scene in an anime styled like picture. Most of these scenes suffer from the same 'paint-styled' grittiness, but to a much lesser degree.
The backgrounds sometimes look very plain. Sometimes one shade of color taking up a large section of the screen feeling like empty space that could have some ambient piece to fill it in when inside a building and not a wide open space, like a pipe in the background... or something to fill in the space. Most of the places look old and crumbled, which however do a good amount of detail in explaining the state of how the world has fallen into while Zero has slept for the last century, as many of these places you go to are rather abandoned and feel abandoned as they have been taken over by Neo Arcadia, most likely in an effort to protect the human populous.
Sound: 7
The music in Megaman Zero feels mostly classical and doesn't really fit the cyber, action placed roll the game has to offer at most bits. The tunes I feel mellow down the combat of the game play and I almost feel like I am going too fast against the music, which gives a rather strange feeling. The game despite this, does have some good music itself despite it not really keeping up with the game play. The music sounds more industrialized than it should.
The game offers a large variety of sound effects and some very minor sounds from characters, a couple of grunts from Zero and boss characters, and some boss characters even have voice acting in Japanese for their attacks. However, some boss characters simply repeat the same grunting sound again, and again, and again.
The sounds from effects as wide as they are, are pretty convincing, with individual footsteps from when Zero's feet comes into contact with the ground, to very real saber noises when he swings his saber weapons around, even with varying tones and pitches depending how he swings them. There are a few ambient noises as well, such as when it is raining outside, or when you are underwater which help liven the experience.
While the sound is great, the music has a bit of a ways to go to matching the standard of the game type and setting it is in.
Addictiveness: 4
There is almost no reason to play Megaman Zero again after the first time you beat it. You get almost no reward for beating it the first time other than trying a new game on hard difficulty. Starting the game on normal using your old save file just starts you off with all the upgrades you got from before; this is almost pointless because there is only one place you can't return to after a good while of game play and that is returning to the introduction stage where you first met Ciel. The only reason to play again is mostly for bragging rights that you completed the game 100% which you can easily do in just one run anyways. However, with the use of Cyber Elves, while they die when used, some will be permanently used; such as one that increases your maximum life. Cyber Elves which are like usable items, such as recovering you a small amount of health, can be found again on a new game plus and therefore reused. All and all, once you play Megaman Zero once, you've most likely played the entire game as it is.
Story: 6
Megaman Zero's story is okay, but it's not very great, although it was a pretty good introduction to the story itself and explaining the situation that the story was in which help sprout the plant and spread the branches for the rest of the series. Megaman Zero did a good job introducing all of the characters, although Zero did not have very much character at all, only beginning to show some at the very very beginning of the game; he was almost mute, just seemingly doing everything just because the Resistance asked him to, and not giving a reason as to why he was helping a group that had been branded as Mavericks and a threat to society. It seems in this series, Capcom didn't actually know exactly where they were taking the series for sure, and left the road wide open for it. Perhaps that was a wise move on their part however.
The story however almost seems predictable, as "X", Zero's old partner is the one apparently branding the Resistance group as Mavericks. As a sort of rule of thumb for the Megaman series since Megaman X, you are going to have to be in a 'Zero versus X' battle yet once again.
Four of the bosses will eventually be more important of the series, which is a bit unique in its own right, giving Zeros other 'rivals' to go up against that isn't just X. This does a good job of explaining that Neo Arcadia isn't necessarily evil, but just trying to do what they believe is best to protect the small remaining human populace on a dying world.
Depth: 9
The worst mechanic this game has is being able to completely, entirely skip missions; and keep skipping them until you are at one you cannot skip which I dub as a 'story mission'. These missions USUALLY have story related to them, but not in the missions themselves, but usually -before- the mission even begins such as when Ciel as talking about when to do. These are generally with attacks coming towards the Resistance base. You can literally be at the end of the game in a span of ten minutes and not missed anything as far as story content even goes. You get punished with a low score rating, which score is only for collecting a certain power up.
Not completing a mission means you will not get that mission reward, which may be a elemental chip which helps to defeat certain bosses, or a cyber elf which may grant you a temporary ability, or a permanent ability such as more maximum health, but this is really about it. These "optional" missions only help make the end game easier.
Unlike any of the Megaman X games, this game however has one of my favorite features; and that is the fact that almost every single stage you go to is actually linked with another stage, meaning that the game technically is one giant massive overall map. This world however is not very big. Many of these missions you go to end up being on the same stage; but you usually have a completely different objective to go to. In other missions, you may go through one stage you went through before, and then branch off into a completely different stage. As well, as you do missions, stages change over time. A place that was iced over before, may now have melted and be completely be submerged in water. It's the same place, but it completely changes how you have to go through the stage despite knowing the layout of it from before. Although while reusing levels and making them different is cool, it means that some secrets become unavailable to get, and it limits how expansive the game world actually is, meaning that if you don't get a secret in an area, you are technically crippled throughout the rest of the game.
Again, there is a score rating, which I believe is a poor system since it rewards you for being good, and cripples you for being bad. A good player I feel doesn't need to be rewarded. Thankfully, this system in this game only enables you for getting one cyber elf; it is a pretty good cyber elf unfortunately. As long as you do good at the very very first Mission (which is hard to do bad on) and get this power up which is hidden within the Resistance base as long as you have an A or S ranking on your score, then you can pretty much do as badly as you want in the game with no risk.
Megaman Zero also has one more feature which I like but also hate, which is the ability to level up your skills in weapons. These make it so you can preform instead of a single swing with your saber, up to three swings, make it so you can charge your weapons up higher grades and also makes you be able to preform completely new actions, such as a spinning jump attack additionally with your basic jump attack which helps do a lot more damage quickly and around you. Which weapon levels, you also collect Energy Crystals which you feed to your Cyber Elves that you collect so that they are actually usable. I feel this makes the game quite a bit more of a grind instead of completing it which actual skill, however, if you do struggle with the game play, this makes it quite a fair bit easier.
Finally, while reaching the end of the stage is (usually) your objective, a lot of times you will have a lot of side objectives in a stage, such as having to go around an enemy base finding your captured Resistance members; going to an end of a stage and then BACK while escorting a member, making sure he doesn't take damage or else he WILL die and you WILL fail; another one has you going around disarming bombs before they explode. This keeps the game play always different and interesting and each every mission is unique from each other, making the game constantly fun and that should be reward enough for doing the optional missions. Speaking of missions, you at a time can choose one out of three missions after the first one and do all the missions in any order you like. After you either fail or succeed in the mission you have selected, it will be replaced by a newer one. Only after doing, or at least attempting "X" amount of missions will a important mission that you cannot bypass come up. This means that if you struggle with a mission, you can hold it off until you become stronger and feel you are more comfortable with taking the mission on. However, some missions will not become available until that mission is done, so eventually you will have to do them.
The game is not the length as an RPG and you won't be playing it for days. But for a side scrolling action platformer, you will be able to waste quite a few hours playing this game which is pretty lengthy for it's type. Dying is part of the length of the game; you most likely WILL die a few times and have to try your luck again.
Difficulty: 6
There is no actual 'Easy mode' in Megaman Zero. Only Normal mode and a hard mode after you beat the game. The game starts off simple at the first couple stages, but it does quickly branch of in difficulty. The game however gently guides your hand at telling you what is what. You got an electricity chip? It tells you that it makes your charged attacks have an electric side effect on them which is great against fire-type enemies. And if you are completely new to the series, the game is not shy about telling you every crook and cranny about the game mechanics, such as even telling you that you can charge up your weapons, and that the more you use them to defeat enemies, the more skilled you will get when you use them. It tells you about the score punishments of using cyber elves, the rewards for doing missions and the consequences for abandoning them. If you pace yourself, grinding a little and free roaming around between every mission just a little bit, the game should be quite enjoyable for the standard player. If you are hard core, you can rush in without grinding and test your luck. If you're interested in the Megaman Zero series, but are a more casual player, you can take your time. While the mission scores try to pressure you to rush in and kick butt, you really don't need to. If you find yourself struggling with a mission, if you've been thorough with hunting secrets, you will have plenty of Cyber Elves available to help bail you out of trouble.
Like most Megaman games every since the first, the game is famous for it's series of several 'death traps', which some levels unfortunately seem to go a little overboard on them. Some mission you will literally have to do a couple of blind jumps into a pit of spikes which feels very unfair. Many levels have said spikes, bottomless pits, and some levels have both of those AND the mechanic of something trying to crush you; which is also a one shot kill. Some boss fights too, have either a bottomless pit, or spike traps in them, which feels strange because it's not the boss that you fear then; it is the level disaster that they put in to try and make the fight harder.
Speaking of boss fights, the game is usually good with enemy attacks. You may get beaten up and be destroyed your first attempt at fighting a boss, but you will have learned how to dodge their attacks; and there is ALWAYS a way to dodge a boss's attack one way or another; sometimes even two ways. On the exception of boss fights where there is a instant death trap mechanic in them do you really feel that the boss's attacks are fair, and if you get hit by one of them, it was your fault for either standing in the wrong place and cornering yourself; or simply not reacting fast enough. If you play your cards right, you can even STOP enemies attacks before they even get a chance to release them. This makes the game feel very good.
Overall score: 7.2
Megaman Zero is probably the worst of the series, but it was the first of the series and it certainly is not at all a bad game by any means. Capcom did something completely different with the entire Megaman Zero series, and with the rest of the series they chose a set path and followed it which made it possibly one of the best game series for the Game boy Advance ever. The first Megaman Zero game never really hit big with most fans, as the other games are prescribed to only be better and better after this game, as it seems Capcom listened to criticism of fans and gave them really what they wanted. Megaman Zero was a great introduction to an even greater series that set the bar for action platforming bring the Megaman series back to it's more classical roots while able to throw a great overhaul in game play at the same time.

move over X, Zero is here!   kirbyluver4life
The graphics here are amazing, bright and colorful while remaining serious the graphics are astounding. It keep it's anime style while remaining fairly realistic, I love the opening cinematic featuring high definition pictures and remaining quite tense. My favorite part though
is when you kill an enemy or boss with Zero's Z saber, and they split in half, it never get's old and is such a cool effect, overall the graphics
remain excellent throughout the whole game. It sure brings back the memories of mega man X, even in the dark areas it's easy to see the
enemies and object no matter where you are,the graphics are great and go along perfectly with it's anime style.
The sounds go perfectly with the action's, from zero's Z saber slashing through an enemy reploid to the awsoeme sound of Zero dashing
away to just escape an enemy shot or movement. I love how they have realistic yet unreal noises and effects, it goes perfectly with whatever
type of theme is happening. But better yet is the music, keeping a fantasy-sci-fi theme really exploit's;s the legendary hero Zero, and it always
play's the perfect theme in each area, from the dank sewer-like area where zero was resurrected to the enemy base it keep's it's fun and serious at the same time feel.
Mega man Zero is not necessarily addicting, I mean you need a break after every few missions but Zero's fun experience always keeps you coming back, the fun mid-bosses keep you going until you reach the intense bosses. Every boss is different, from they're style to they're power you can never redo the same boss battle. It keeps you going so you can unlock new levels of power and from there it let's you pass
the tougher bosses. It's overall a fun experience with twist in the story at every turn, it will keep you playing for a long time and is not super,
but faitly addicting.
The game itself is no too long, being like the original mega man with 8 bosses and a few extra stages until you face the final boss:
(spoiler blocked out). But the cool cyber elves which you need crystals to feed if they have multiple forms, there's much to do with them, and
they can be as useless as turning enemies into health to as amazing as doubling your maximum health. There's plenty to do with cyber elves and the challenging missions will keep you playing for a while, it's not too long but there is plenty to explore.
The game is fairly easy at first, but has a steep learning curve that goes from simply jumping over attacks to a complex pattern of wall jumps, dashes and jumping. It is fairly tough but it's not nearly as hard as contra, so don't worry about frustration even if you're used to Kirby difficulty games. Megaman Zero is a good, challenging game, not easy, but not impossible
either, the perfect difficulty for the casual gamer.
Overall MegaMan Zero is a great game with a perfect difficulty for any gamer who knows what they're doing,It's sound effect's and music go perfectly with the scenario's. It keep's you going for a long while, possibly until you beat it with it's fairly addictive gameplay and it's story is just excellently thought out. Though the best part is it's perfectly challenging difficulty that keep's player's busy.In total, Mega man Zero is a great game and you should definitely give it a try, see you later, and please rate!

Megaman Zero Review   The Planned Acc..
Overall: 9
This game is overall, a great game. I think you will enjoy playing through it a few times, and I do believe that you will play through it at least once. You'll almost immediately get into it, in my opinion. I like the new features they've added, for instance, you can choose from different weapons in this game, unlike previous games where you could only use the Mega-buster, or the Z-saber. This game let's you choose between 4 weapons, and you can change them at any time during game-play. But overall, this game is a great game, like I said.
Graphics: 7
The graphics of this game are adequate. They're not the best graphics I've ever seen on the GBA, but they're okay. I believe you'll like the neat environments and the smooth animation. Inticreates (The creators of the Mega-man Zero series) did a pretty good job with this game's graphics. I personally didn't like them all too much. But that's just me. You may like them a lot. Overall, this game's graphics are pretty good. Inticreates didn't do a bad job.
Sound: 6
I personally didn't like the sound too much in this game. The songs were repetitive, and they were played again in different stages. I did, however, like the sounds that were made that weren't the music. Such as the sounds of your Z-buster. They were pretty good. But like I said, the music in this game was too repetitive, and they put the same songs in different stages. But you may feel differently about this game's sound. I personally found it to annoying. But overall, this game's sound is not bad.
Addictiveness: 8
I think you'll probably play through this game a couple times. Especially since they added a new feature. You can restart the game with all the items you had at the end of the game, except certain items, making you unstoppable. The storyline itself will make you want to play through it a few times, because this game has a good storyline. But overall, this game's addictiveness is, in my opinion, pretty addictive. You'll want to play this game for a little while.
Story: 7
This game's storyline was pretty good. What I liked about this game's story was that there were plot twists. Most other Mega-man games are predictable. This game is also pretty predictable, most of the time, but you'll like the storyline in this game much more than other Mega-man games. Another thing I like about this game's storyline is that it literally leads into the second game in the series, unlike the games in the Mega-man classic series, and the Mega-man X series, where almost every game had little to nothing to do with each other. Overall, this game's storyline is really good, and will make you want to play through the other 3 games in this series.
Depth: 8
You'll spend a good amount of time on this game. They've added a new feature from previous installments in the franchise, where you can obtain these little creatures called cyber elves, and they can do various tasks for you. Some of them can help you fight enemies, some of them give you more health, like the heart tanks in the Mega-man X series. So, if you want to truly beat the entire game, you'll have to spend a good amount of time finding all of these cyber elves, because they're located basically anywhere in the game. The storyline of this game will take you 4-6 hours average. Overall, this game has a pretty big depth. You'll spend a little while playing this.
Difficulty: 6
Surprisingly, this game is more difficult than most other games in the Mega-man franchise. There will be times during game-play when you'll want to rip your hair out. But I guess this game isn't too hard. Then there will be parts where you'll fly right through with little to no trouble. Believe it or not, I believe the first part of the game is much harder than the last parts. Your opinion may differ. Overall, this game isn't too difficult. Like I said, you'll want to rip your hair out at some parts, and other parts, you'll fly right through.
Wrap things up:
This game is, overall, a great game. You'll spend a decent amount of time playing it, you'll get right into the story, and you'll probably play through it again. The graphics of this game are pretty good, the sound could be better, but the other features of this game definitely make up for it. I believe you'll love this game. I know I did.

Its Zero time (Mega Man Zero review)   tornadocam
Hello everybody. Today I am going to be reviewing and critiquing Mega Man Zero. The first Zero game in the new Zero series. So here we go.
Story: 9

A Century has passed since the X series. During the time that has passed, Neo Arcadia was formed. Neo Arcadia strives to protect the humans from reploids who they deem are mavericks. However, their ways of dealing with reploids is highly controversial. Several innocent reploids have been retired by this group. The game even hints that there are no criteria of reploids being labeled mavericks. A resistance group, whose name is actually called Resistance, was formed to save reploids. Ciel a scientists who works for the Resistance is trying to find energy source as she believes that is why Neo Arcadia is destroying reploids to get their energy sources. Ciel finds Zero and awakens him. She explains to Zero what is going on. Zero decides to help Ciel and the Resistance much to Neo Arcadia's dismay.
Okay, I really liked the story line to this game. I thought the plot did a good job introducing the characters in this new series. I also thought it was creative on how they reintroduced Zero in this game. Apparently, Zero was asleep since the X series ended. I really like plots that have creativity and introduce something new. The only thing wrong with the plot is I think it left some points out. Such as, why was Neo Arcadia formed. However, Capcom fixed that later on. Thus, I give the story to this game a good rating of 9 out of 10.
Graphics & Controls : 8
The graphics in this game were very solid. The desert stage looks like a real desert. Capcom even added dust storms in the desert levels, which was a nice touch. I also liked how the colors really shine in this game. I found that the stages were very colorful. The Resistance soldiers actually look like real soldiers in this game. Kind of like how the reploids looked in Mega Man X6. There was one thing though, I did not like about the graphics in this game. Why, do the Neo Arcadia soldiers look like zombies? I do not know if that is how Capcom intended for them to look that way or what? But, the Neo Arcadia soldiers' sprints look out of whack.
I thought the controls of the game were also nice. Zero's controls in this game are pretty good and smooth. However, there were a few times were he felt sluggish, and that really surprised me. I was surprised, because I thought this being on 32 bit there would not be any sluggish feel to the game. The sluggishness was only a few times though, so it was  not too bad. The game also did not really have any lags to it at all, which is nice. Zero had good graphics and for the most part good controls. The only problems were the sprints and the few times Zero felt sluggish. Thus, I give the graphics and controls a good rating of 8 out of 10.
Sound: 8
The sound in this game was good. Some of the music is memorable. My favorite is the water level theme. The sounds the enemies make is also nicely done. In addition, Zero has the best sounds though. His buster sounds like a machine gun, which was a nice touch. His sound he makes when he uses his saber sounds really cool. The player knows when Zero shouts with his saber he is going to do major damage. The only thing wrong with the sound was there was some tingles to the other tunes. I do not like tingles in music so to hear them, hurt the rating a little in this game. To be honest, I was shocked to hear tingles in this game. I would suspect to hear a tingle if this was an 8 bit game, but this game is on a 32 bit system. I do not think there should have been any tingles to this game. Therefore, I give the sound of  Mega Man Zero a good rating of 8 out of 10.
Addictiveness and Depth: 7
I had fun playing this game. But, to be honest I liked the future zero games better. I just felt like they had more to offer and more stages than the first game. Still, this is a fun game even though the depth suffers a little bit. The depth in this game as I mentioned kind of suffers somewhat. The only thing to collect here is Cyber Elfs. There are no capsules to find for enhancements like there were in the X series. In addition, there are no life ups to collect either. Now, Zero does have some depth to it. There are several reploids to rescue, several missions to complete, and some of the stages can be long. So, that right there adds some depth to this game. Players, who play this game need to know that it does take a while. On the other hand, if you were looking for the depth that the X games had. You might be a little disappointed. I guess Capcom did not put depth in this game like they did future Zero games, because this was the first one. Still, it is a fun game and it does have some depth to it. At the end of the day, I give the depth rating a decent 7 out of 10 rating.
Difficulty: 9
Mega Man Zero was a hard game in several ways. First of all, the enemy placement can be a problem. It is so easy to get hit from behind by enemies in this game. Also, it is easy to get surrounded in this game as well. The bosses some of them are a pain to deal with. The guardians are the ones that gave me the most trouble in this game. In addition, some of the missions are timed, so it is real easy to fail a mission due to the clock running out. I really liked the game's difficulty though. It is the good kind of difficulty. This game, will test your skills and there are puzzles to solve. Moreover, it also tests your reflexes too especially during the timed missions.
Mega Man Zero really shined on its difficulty. In fact, this game reminded me of some of my hardest X games I played from the X series. I really liked this game's difficulty. Thus, at the end of the day I give Mega Man Zero a solid 9 out of 10 rating.
Overall: 8.4
Mega Man zero was a good game overall though it did have some issues. First of all, I do not know why they stuck Mega Man in the title. My only guess was Capcom was trying to let people know this was a spin off of the Mega Man series. Still, X is only referenced in this game as he is not the main character at all. I think the game would have been more appealing if they would have dropped Mega Man from the title. Second, why did Capcom have the Neo Arcadia soldiers look like zombies. I never really understood that. I thought the Neo Arcadia troops would look like the Resistance soldiers, accept be in a different uniform. Some players might think that is a nice touch, but for me it just seems out of place. Third, the depth in this game could have been better. I was hoping there would be more items to collect just like they were in the X series.
Okay, now onto the positives. I really liked how this game reintroduced Zero. Zero needed a good introduction to be introduced and Capcom did a good job of doing that. Second, I also really liked the fact that Zero is the start in this game. I mean, he was already a star before this series. I guess what I am trying to say was this made Zero into a bigger star. Mega Man zero is a fun game to play and it does a good job introducing the players to the main characters. In addition, I also liked it how they allowed Zero to maintain his moves. As far as recommending this game. Yes I would recommend this game. It is a good game to start the Zero series. But I also recommend you play the other Zero games too as they are so much better.

Here we go! It's Zero's time to shine!   Vega
Megaman Zero: The first Megaman game to actually let you play as the legendary red Reploid, Zero, without having X as a playable character. Ciel discovers Zero in an old and abandoned laboratory and uses Passy, her Cyber Elf, to reawaken Zero. Because Zero was woken up from his slumber early, he had lost his memory. You start the game by protecting Ciel and trying to get to the Trans Server without letting her get too damaged. In the beginning stage, you only have the classic Z-Buster. For some reason, the Z-Saber is missing. When you get close to the Trans Server, a Golum kidnaps Ciel and you have no other choice but to use your buster even though Ciel says it won't work. A little piece of advice: If you want to hurt the Golum with the Z-Buster, AIM FOR THE HEAD. That's the only way to hit the Golum with the buster and actually get some damage on it. When the Golum gets around to half of its HP, a strange Cyber Elf appears on a computer screen and somehow the one thing that can kill the Golum, the legendary Z-Saber, comes out of the computer screen! Be careful when using the Z-Saber when you get it though. It might accidentally hit Ciel when you strike the Golum. Throughout the rest of the game, you have to work around some intense missions and collect data and other Cyber Elves to get Zero more power. In order to get his abilities restored, take time in between missions and kill lots and lots of enemies to get Zero's original powers back such as the Charge Shot and the Tri-Slash. You also have to go on incredibly annoying rescue missions and beat X's Four Guardians in order to make it to the final battle between Zero and X. But the thing is, the X you fight in the end of the game ISN'T X! Apparently, a long time ago, X died and Ciel made a Copy of X to rule Neo Arcadia. His Guardians; Sage Harpuia, Fighting Fefnir, Fairy Leviathan, and Hidden Phantom, were created from the same data that was used to create Copy X. In the end, you have to kill Copy X and that leads to the end of the game. This game is amazingly fun and the thrills never end. When I picked up this game, I couldn't down and I am completely sure that if you are a true-blue Zero fan, you will love Megaman Zero and the other three games that follow after the very first Megaman Zero game.

Megaman Zero Review   Marcmoney
Overall - 9.3
Megaman Zero on the GBA is a more easier game than the Megaman games on the NES.  I really enjoy playing this game because you are Zero instead of Megaman.  I am more of a fan of Zero than Megaman.  The game is interesting and has so many things that you can do.  When I played this, I thought it was so fun because it had good graphics than the NES.  It is a lot of fun to play, I guarantee it.
Graphics - 8
The graphics are good, but they are a little bad for some reason.  It just seems to not interest me, but it still has awesome effects that you can do.  It is especially better than the NES one.
Sound - 9
The sound is great.  The music plays so interesting and cool that you feel like you are in the game.  The sound effects are very good, I just like the way it sounds when you shoot and jump and sprint.  I like the part where you get the big "WARNING" on the screen when you are about to verse a boss.  It just looks so awesome.
Addictiveness - 8
The game is fun, like I said.  I just cannot stop playing it, especially when you are Zero.  I just love the way it is played too.
Story - 9
I am not good at understanding stories, but I will try my best to demonstrate it.  A girl is running away from these monsters with the help of her "soldiers."  She then ends up being in a dead end, but then realizes that this should be a way of getting out.  So one of her "soldiers" shoots it down and the three go in there and see Zero.  They try to wake him up, but he is protected by himself.  So the monsters come in and got them cornered.  (The names of the three:  Ciel, the girl; Passy, the little girl; I forgot the "soldiers" name) Passy tells Ciel to use her powers, but Ciel does not want to cause if she does, Passy will die.  Ciel uses Passy's power and wipes out the monsters.  Passy turns into a little spirit ball and goes into Zero, making him resurrected.  Then that is where you come in and start the game.  The story is one of those stories where it starts out and then you come in and play the level and then goes to a story, kind of like Final Fantasy.  I love it when they make it this kind of story.
Depth - 8
The game has a lot of features that I did not know about till I played this one.  For instance, you can equip things that you want to use.  Another thing is that you can charge your weapon and perform a stronger attack.  I love doing that, it is really helpful.  It did not have it on the NES till Megaman 4 or 6 (I do not remember cause I did not like playing the Megaman games on the NES).
Difficulty - 4
The game is not that hard as you think.  It is quite easy to play and you get moves that can really help you.  The enemies are not that hard too.  The bosses can be quite difficult because some of them is hard to find out where you need to hit them.  But other than that, the game plays fair.
Wrap Things Up...
Megaman Zero is an awesome game to play.  I am so happy that I found out this game because I get tired of using Megaman.  I highly recommend trying this game out if you have not already.  The game is too much fun to play. :)

Megaman Zero. NUFF SAID!   Hidden Phantom
Well, It's finally time.  Time to rate one of my favorite games of all time, in my favorite series to date.  Megaman Zero.  I'm not going to waste my breath here, but believe me, breath wasting WILL happen a bit later.  So, without further ado... (What is "ado" anyway?)
Just a little F.Y.I, there are going to be spoilers.
Graphics: 9
The graphics in this game are actually pretty good.  When you compare the graphics to other games, these graphics are sharp, and aren't too spread out, which ultimately give a game a blurry look.  The animations are great; they are very smooth, compared to those in games such as racing games, the screen transition along with the animations themselves are very expertly done.  Yes, I'm looking at you, first level.  The prime example of good transition in this game is when Ciel and Zero fall down the passage to the Prehistoric Laboratory.  Did you notice?  As they fell, the screen moved perfectly, leaving no lag.  THAT'S what I call good transition.
Sound: 9
The music of this game is very catchy, and the series uses their own signature "sound"  throughout the series.  Don't know what I mean?  Listen to the resistance base music.  Disregard the melody, just listen to the tone.  Have you heard that tone of music in any other game?  Chances are you said no.  As for the melodies, it's no Storm Eagle, but it's pretty dang good either way.
Addictiveness: 10
Like I said in my last review, this game is not one to reel you in with cheap methods, it is simply HARD.  How exactly does this cause addictiveness?  When you lose, you feel it that you HAVE to win, and with every loss, your desire intensifies to the point that when you FINALLY beat that boss, (talking to you, Fairy Leviathan) you yell out in triumph!  (Much to the irritation of your parents for your yelling out at 11:00 at night, may I add)  It just feels so...GOOD to finally win!
Story: 10
201Spoiler warning: this article may contain major plot or ending details.201
Now that that's out of the way...the story.  Ah, the story.  This series has probably the best story of ANY game series to date.  So, for the sake of time, I shall state the story of this game along, Megaman Zero.  So, Zero, our hero, has been sealed away in an underground laboratory, the location of which becomes a huge point later on, but we'll get to that later.  Anyway, the resistance solders fighting against the powers of Copy X and the four Guardians are running through the jungle, battling Pantheons and Golems as they go.  Ciel, Milan and Passy enter the chamber where Zero sleeps, which is protected.  Milan is killed by enemy fire, and Passy sacrifices herself to revive the ancient warrior. It works, and the game begins.  Zero and Ciel discover an prehistoric laboratory, fight a Golem, and Zero gets the Z Saber.  Zero agrees to aid Ciel in fighting against Neo Arcadia.  He defeats Aztec Falcon at the disposal center (i.e execution ground), and then receives his past data on his weapons from this obese elephant thing.  After that, he proceeds to rescue a crash survivor, take control of an E-Crystal factory and an underground base, and take over a subway.  All's fair and good...but not for long.  Enter the Guardians.  These guys, who are genetically similar to X, are NOT kidding around.  And after gut wrenchingly  tough battles, they retreat.  Then Zero protects the base from two attacks from Neo Arcadia.  So Zero's like "Enough.  I'm gonna kick some copy butt."  So the REAL X in the form of a cyber elf unlocks Neo Arcadia, and Zero goes there.  He fights the Rainbow Devil and this stag beetle thing that no one cares about, then it's...BOSS ENDURANCE TIME!  After all that and an optional battle with each of the Guardians during which Hidden Phantom commits suicide, (Wait...WHAT?!) it's Copy X time.  He brags about being the "perfect copy"  until you whup his butt, then he goes all Armed Phenomenon on you, but Zero whups him again.  He does not understand how he lost! (Hint: he's overconfident and naive) So, he blows himself up and Zero barely escapes. At the end of the game, Zero agrees to X to defend his honor, and with that, Zero utters his closing line: "When an enemy appears...i'll terminate it!"
And thus is the story of Megaman Zero.  Spoiler End.
Depth: 8
This game doesn't give you options as RPGs do, which was my complaint on my Megaman X review, but hey!  It's Megaman Zero, for crying out loud!
Difficulty: 9
This game isn't too hard, that is, until you fight Copy X's Seraph form.  THEN it gets hard.  But after that, wait...the game's over!
So all in all...no, go play the game.  Nuff said.  Words can't describe all this game has to offer.  Close this review, and go play the game.  Here, I'll include this so you can be lazy at the same time!

Hope you enjoyed! :)

Megaman Zero   Divine Aurora
" The War for control over Neo Arcadia has begun and a legendary long thought to be dead repliod has awakened from his slumber" . In Megaman Zero, Neo Arcadia was once thought to be the beacon of hope for repliods and humans to co-exist but with the energy crisis the humans and repliods of Neo Arcadia are now at war and it seems like the only one with a solution to end the war and energy crisis is a scientist named Ceil. Ceil believes she can save the world from the energy crisis and end the war by using her new energy system called the Ceil system. In Megaman Zero you will face many enemies defending Ceil and the rest of resistance against the ruler of Neo Arcadia, Master X and his underling reploids and the four legendary guardians.
Graphics: 10
"What can be expected out of the graphics in Megaman Zero?". ?Well the graphics seen in Megaman Zero are phenomenal and are in ?stunning quality and detail. Every detail in the stages(both the?obvious detail that sticks out to the minor detail) seen in Megaman Zero are descriptive and the pixel resolution is by far the best I have ever seen from a game boy advanced game. The cut scenes seen/experienced in Megaman Zero are in fairly decent resolution you can make out the characters clearly but there is a thick black outline on the characters in the cut scenes, but during game play the black line is thin and clean cut and barely noticeable.Objects in Megaman Zero are outlined for the most part in the overall color they are suppose to be so the outlines of objects blend in with the objects themselves so the lines aren't noticeable.
Sound: 10
" What's the sound like in Megaman Zero"?. Well the sound heard in Megaman Zero's gameplay is flawless, over flowing in quality and clarity in it's acoustics. Every action you do in Megaman Zero has a sound, like for example if I shot a enemy and if it losses all its health it makes a small explosion?noise like a mini boom that can be heard quite well. Also if I use the z saber which is a blade when you use it, it makes a quick like fast sounding hsss noise. In addition Zero as well as enemies in the game make their own and unique sound when they get injured and or explode when they are killed.
Addictiveness: 8
" How much were you addicted to playing Megaman Zero?". Well I was highly addicted to Megaman Zero because to me Megaman Zero is by far one of the best spin off Megaman games in the Megaman franchise, where the story both captivates and entertains the gamer and fans of the franchise. What also adds to the addictiveness of Megaman Zero is the fact that its a all new story revolved around the more popular character Zero and his journey, and the enemies in the game are both creative and a challenge to beat. In addition I was addicted to Megaman Zero because the game gave me the appeal and realism that I am the reawakened legendary repliod Zero, fighting against all odds to bring down the ruler of Neo Arcadia, Mater X.
Story: 9
"How does the story go in Megaman Zero?". Well the story in Megaman Zero starts out like this. Ceil a scientist working?desperately on solving the?energy?crisis of Neo Arcadia??thinks she has found the answer in a far of jungle but little does she know Master X's army was in close?pursuit?of her and the resistance the whole time. Master X's forces corner?Ceil off in a deep part of this jungle in Neo Arcadia were she has unearthed the long un-disturbed resting place of the legendary?repliod Zero and in a live or die dire situation she uses her cyber elf to awaken the?legendary?reploid Zero. Zero upon awaking doesn't remember a thing about himself or his past all he knows is this scientist has unearthed and awakened him and she is in dire need of his help to get her out of this situation she is in where a large number of repliods are coming to possibly kill her. So after Zero kills off all the repliods attacking Ceil and him, Zero takes Ceil back to her Resistance base and asks Zero will he help her and the rest of the Resistance fight the good fight and stand up to Master X's rule over Neo Arcadia. After that Ceil gives Zero a large some of mission options to reduce the?enemies numbers and to overall?cripple?the enemies power and hold over Neo Arcadia and the people both human and reploids that live there.
Depth: 8?
"So just how long is the game Megaman Zero and how much is there to do in it?" .Well there is plenty of things to do in Megaman Zero, you can collect cyber elf's which ultimately help you out in battle because each cyber elf has it's own unique ability, and there are also sub games you can do aside from main game play, but you can only do sub games after you beat the main game. In Megaman Zero there are plenty of missions to do but beware if you lose on some missions you can't redo them, and overall I think there are anywhere from 20-40 missions in the entire game. The stages and level designs are long and lengthy with plenty of depth to them and the stages take a fair amount of time to get through them as well and the boss battles are pretty long themselves. There are approximately 20-40 bosses about 30 of the bosses are main bosses. I estimate play time to you beat the entire game is anywhere from about 1-2 weeks unless you use screen slots.
Difficulty: 7
"So just how difficult was Megaman Zero?". Well Megaman Zero scored very high in the difficulty category because the boss have a preset plan/motion of attack and the patterns to which they attack in are very difficult to recognize and figure out a way to get around there hardened defense so that way you can beat them. The games A.I. is astonishing, the enemies movements are very complex and organized ?and I for one found my self using screen/save slots to analyze there movements and point out vulnerabilities to time perfectly when to attack them and be on the defense myself.
Overall: 9.6
"What's your overall view on Megaman Zero?". Well overall Megaman Zero is by far the best spin off series in the Megaman franchise. Megaman Zero's story and plot structure flows perfectly and really captivates the gamer into the story and gives them the sense that they are Zero. The graphics are as clean cut as it comes and the games sound quality is phenomenal you can hear characters voices as well as the sound track clear in perfect quality. The game is just the right size to create a satisfying story with plenty of depth with ?just enough story to stay interested in the game. Although the game is difficult with the right amount of time and determination you can easily over come enemies and its a blast to do so. Overall I recommend Megaman Zero to any fan of the Megaman Zero franchise, especially if you are looking for a Megaman game with a genius well put together story with plenty of action and just enough dialog and really if you are looking for a fresh start on a popular character in the franchise with its own captivating story and unique and interesting characters.?

A Very Special Megaman Zero Review   UncleBalrog
Hey guys, it's UncleBalrog again. Yep, another game review. However, instead of reviewing stuff like I usually do, (you know, just kinda telling you about the game and moving on...yeah, it's pretty boring >:T) I'm gonna do something a little different. This game is a rather special game to me, so not only am I going to review this game, (not like I normally do!! :P) I'm also going to explain exactly why this game is da freaking bomb(man)! See what I did there? Ah whatever, let's get to the review--and the Why This Game is da Freaking Bomb!
Graphics: I'm gonna give this game a 9+ in Graphics. You know why? The game is beautiful for a Game Boy Advance game, or even a Megaman game for that matter. The sprites have very smooth and defined motions, with the exception of a few NPCs. (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, CIEL!) Heck, even the enemies have very good sprites. I slapped the + on there after the 9 because of a little thing they did in the intro stage, where you protect Ciel. This is a bit of a spoiler but near the end of the intro stage, Ciel walks on an "unassuming platform" and states that it's a dead end. The "unassuming platform" then proceeds to crumble, and Zero dashes to grab Ciel. They fall down a very long pit, and while doing so, they used a certain frame of Zero's jumping sprite and placed it close to a sprite for Ciel, which made it look as if Zero was carrying Ciel down the pit. Boy that was hard to explain, but if you go ahead and play the game you'll understand what I mean. Also, I LOVE the new art style for this series, 'nuff said. NOW LET'S GET ON WITH IT!!!
Sound: Another 9...this time without a plus. I've gotta say, I was very impressed with the music in this game. Not only that, the sound effects were unique and they all sounded pretty cool. Like I've stated in previous game reviews, the thing I look for most in VGM is how well it fits in with the current situation, or location, or mood that the music is being played in. Want some examples? Look at the boss music. Or, rather, LISTEN to it. It really does fit in perfectly with almost every boss in the game, except for Copy X's first form. That's the only reason why I didn't give the sound a 10, a final boss as cool as Copy X should have unique music in BOTH his forms. Speaking of which, the track used for his Seraph Form (or Final Form, or Super Saiyan Form if you're that kinda guy) is fantastic for his character. Also, the track is appropriately named 'Fake.' There were also some real character voices for the characters that can actually talk in the game, such as the Four Guardians (known as the s***ennou in Japan!).
Addictiveness: Jesus freaking Christ, I am glued to this game. The gameplay runs quite a bit smoother than the Megaman X series. For example, you don't take 5 frames to pause whenever you try to jump off a wall, or even stick to the wall. (Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the X series.) Sliding down walls was practically instant, and at a non-irritating pace. Although I'll admit the drastically faster pace of this game did take some getting used to after I played pretty much every game in the X series, I have to say I prefer the Zero series's game speed. It made the boss fights actually intense and flat out cool. The fast pace also raised the difficulty by about OVER 9000 levels, which I actually like. I LOVE difficult games, especially when your mistakes feel like YOU made them, not that it's the game throwing cheap crap at you constantly. It does put your reaction time and pattern analyzing abilities to an extreme test though. (HIGHLY UNLIKE THE GOD-AWFUL MEGAMAN X6!!!)
Story: Boy oh boy, the story of Megaman Zero. Lemme go ahead and explain something real fast. You remember the NES days, when a video game either had NO story at all, or it was explained in the Instruction Booklet? AKA Classic Megaman. That was SORT OF fixed when Megaman X came out for the Super Nintendo, although the story was still a bit uninspired even then. (The story was basically explained through the opening, intro stage, and Sigma Fortress stages.) Now, however, Megaman Zero has rolled around and kicked every "story" from every Megaman game to date straight in the behind. Seriously, this game was probably the most story-driven Megaman game ever at its time, right next to the Megaman Legends series. Things are now explained through story events and cutscenes that make sense, and you have mission briefings so you know what you're doing when you start a mission. It's not just "Beat this guy to clear the mission" anymore. It's, "You're here because you need to obtain some lost data. It could be very valuable, so you need to make sure the enemy doesn't get it before you do," or, "The enemy has a secret base somewhere in the desert. You need to find it, infiltrate it, and destroy their main computers that they're commanding their army with." Those are actual missions in the game. Now, I'm going to explain the story so you might as well just skip this part or something if you don't like spoilers.
WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW! SKIP THIS IF YOU HATE SPOILERS!
When you start the game, you see a human girl running away from enemy troops, with a group of her own soldiers following behind and trying to fend off the enemy. They get their butts handed to them pretty easily, however, and the girl (her name is revealed to be Ciel by the way) gets stuck at a...ahem... "wall" and a mysterious flying girl (Ciel's Cyber Elf, you'll learn about those later) says that she feels a "strong energy" coming from inside, and that that must be "the place". The two remaining soldiers break down the wall, and they enter a decrepit building with a red robot knelt down, his body half broken and half wired to a machine that was likely used for maintenance in the past. "This...must be Zero..." Ciel says. Her partner, Milan, tries to touch Zero, but is knocked back by a protective field surrounding the bound Zero. The soldier that had been keeping the enemies occupied yells, and is killed, leaving Milan and Ciel wide open. They are cornered, and Milan is shot by the enemy. Ciel feels like :( and zones out for a while. Passy, Ciel's Cyber Elf, asks Ciel to use her power to reactivate Zero. Ciel reluctantly uses Passy's power, which kills Passy in the process. (Cyber Elves die when they use their power...) Zero is then revived after a large pillar of light extends from his body, and Ciel asks him for help. Zero silently agrees and helps Ciel out. That's pretty much the very start of it. You gain control of Zero as soon as Ciel asks you for help.
Depth: Now that the story's out of the way, let's see why I gave the depth a mere 7. The Zero series decided that they'd use weapons instead of copying your opponent's abilities, which means no more powers after you beat a boss. There isn't necessarily anything wrong with that, but it'd still be nice to get the good ol' boss power. Instead, you can level up your weapons to unlock their full potential, meaning you have to level up your Buster just so you can shoot a Lv. 2 shot. But wait. What happens with Boss Weaknesses??? Fear not, there are now Elemental Chips that you can use with Charge Attacks to hit a boss with an elemental attack, which will either damage it a lot, damage it a tiny bit, or just flat out do nothing at all to the boss. There are Thunder, Ice, and Fire chips. Also, unique to the Zero series, is a point-grading system based on how well you complete the stage. Here's some advice: Do NOT die, do NOT take damage, kill TONS of enemies, do NOT use Cyber-Elves, and clear the level FAST. This pretty much ensures an A rank on the stage.
Difficulty: Holy crap this game is hard. WARNING: YOU WILL RAGEQUIT MORE THAN ONCE DURING THE COURSE OF THIS GAME.
...That's all I got on the Difficulty.
Overall: In my opinion, this is a near-perfect video game. It is one of, if not my single favorite game evah. Pretty much every aspect of this game is spot-on to what it was meant to be, and this game has earned number 1 on my permanent "Never-Sell-This-Crap" list. It's that brilliant, and I can play this game over and over again no matter what I'm currently doing. I think I'm the only one who enjoys this game this much, however...most people hate this game because of its relentless difficulty, and to be honest I really don't blame them at all. This game is amazing, but is somewhat hindered by the difficulty, unless you're me. If you're me, then that means that you're insanely good at these types of games, and that you've had a lot of practice with each individual stage. My honest opinion of this game? Best. Game. Evah.

Megaman zero   kidd mac
Overall a 9.6, This game in my opinion is one of the best games capcom has ever came out with for the gameboy advanced system. The game reflects on the legendary reploid Zero and his orgins in a new way completely different from the Zero seen in Megaman X. The game takes place in Neo America years after Master X defended the human race after the 1st elf wars. The game starts out when a young women with armed escorts is searching for a new clean energy source which is powered by The Dark Elf upon searching for the Elf by tracking the Elfs energy signiture the Elf purposely leads her to the resting place of the legendary reploid Zero.
I gave the graphics a 9 out of 10, because they wern't very discribtive at all and the quality in the cut scenes where very poor but the overall stage design and character design were fair and you could obviously tell what character the bosses were supposed to be.
I gave the games sound a 9 out of 10, because to me the games sountrack was a little annoying to listen to after a while and the boss and such don't really say anything but a pathetic shriek once you kill them.
For addictiveness I give the game a 8 out of 10, even tho the game has its rather bad qualities about it its still on of my favorites because of the awsome way capcom choose to betray Zero in a whole new way in a whole new story which really revoles around him. I would replay this game anyday just for the chance to go through this new Zero's life (rebirth). Although on a side note the game somewhat frezzes and lags on the first boss battle.
The story was good and well planned with plenty of probable cause for anther title in the series. Zero just having been reawakened by a mysterios women has to fend off a little army of repliods in a remote jungle to basically save her. After which Zero has no memery of who he is nor how he got there so the mysterious woman makes Zero a offer to join her and her followers to help them to find this new energy source and. to help him re-discover who he is.
The game depth I gave a 8 out of 10, fairly large although there isn't that many stages but the diversity in the stages is amazing it never feels like your playing the same stage over and over again.
The game really is difficult so l rated its difficulty a 8 out of 10 because the bosses weaknesses don't stick out so they are a challenge
to beat(well at least to me).

Oooh, cool sword!   mastersword2799
The mega man zero series is a big change to the whole mega man series itself. I loved the weapons, the element chips, and cutting bosses to pieces.

The graphics are good. Exceptional even for the GBA era. The sprites were detailed and precise, with the projectiles and effects were just good. This is improved on in later mega man zero games. Many gba games had a low level of graphics at the time, such as some of the star wars games. Mega man zero was an exception. I'd say 9.
The sound was great. I adored the music and the sound effects for explosions and dashing were great. They made the game fell alive. The game contained great music tracks that I couldn't get enough of. A true 10.

The game is VERY addicting. I would play for hours taking on bosses and beating levels. Even taking advantage of save states to beat pretty much every boss since they were impossible. Another 10.
The mega man zero series has a very detailed and dramatic story. Zero 1 is the beginning and shows great depth in zero's personality and growth, which is further expanded in later games. The story doesn't expand too much in this game, so it's a 9.
There is a lot of depth in the game. There are a clot of cyber-elves to collect, and even though some missions are short, there are a good amount of them. There is also great opportunity for collecting. I love the weapons, the ability to chop bosses in half is genius. I'd say 8.
The game difficulty is probably 9 because most bosses have erratic attack patterns and complicated moves. Sometimes they have attacks that span off screen. Levels and enemies are easy, but they're positioned in annoying locations making the game hard to speed (or even advance) through.
This game is great and I hope many people play this game in the future. With great difficulty, depth, graphics, and plain story, this game is superior to many other gba games. In total, this game is 9.2.

Mega Man Zero Review: GBA, 2002, Capcom   JCT500THz
Megaman Zero, in fact, the whole series in my opinion, is one of the greatest GBA games released by Capcom.  Everything about it feels awesome to me, in the sense of the capabilities of the GBA, which is similar to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game has this post-Megaman X feel to it, which it's supposed to have, because it does indeed take place after the events of the 1993-2004 series, Megaman X. The game just immerses you like most other well thought-out games do. Although the Game Boy Advance has less than stellar sound capabilities, Megaman Zero still manages to make itself sound good. It's a really good game that I think every Megaman/Rockman fan should try.

Mega Man Zero Cheat Codes

Easier way to get Jackson:
Simply collect and power-up every cyber elf without using any in normal mode, and beat the game once. After you continue from your old save, you'll get Jackson.

Easy Mode:
You can get a slightly easier game. If you finish the game and save after the credits, you can begin a new game with all of your old equipment, though they won't be leveled up yet. This means you can start with the upgrades from cyber elves in effect, like double life gauge and protection from spikes.

Jackson Mode:
It is possible to obtain this very rare cyber elf, but I didn't say it was easy. Play through Hard Mode and collect (as well as power up to the max) every cyber elf, as well as getting Ranking A or S on every mission. If you start a new game from that saved game, you'll begin with every cyber elf, including Jackson.

Skip Credits:
After completing the game and saving when the game prompts you to do so, hold A when the credits appear when you complete the game any other time. Note: You must have at least one save with a "1" or higher to the right of your total play time.

Starting a game in Hard Mode:
After completing the game, you can start a new game in Hard Mode by holding the left shoulder button down while starting a new file. In Hard Mode, weapons do not gain levels, and bosses have new attacks.

Ultimate Mode:
Once getting passed the challenge of getting Jackson, Ultimate Mode is a bit easier to unlock. Simply hold R when selecting a new game after playing through Jackson Mode and using every cyber elf to play Ultimate Mode. Though the name suggests otherwise, this mode allows you to start with all of your weapons maxed out and with the effects of cyber elves already in place; permanent cyber elves no longer effect ranking. Also, you can now perform any of Zero's charged attacks without actually charging them. To fire a semi-charged Z-Buster shot, press Down to Forward + B (doing this combination with the Z-Shield equipped will use a charged Z-Shield throw). To perform a charged Z-Buster shot, press Down to Forward, Down to Forward + B. To perform a charged Z-Sabre slash, press Forward to Down + B. To perform a charged Z-Rod swing, press Forward, Down, Down-Forward + B.

By "right key", I meant "correct key." Not the directional kind of "right."

@712pm To enter that door, you push the up key. If that doesn't work, check the controls to see which key that is. If you are pressing the right key, make sure you are standing in the middle of the doorway before pressing.

M3T4H3DR0N 12-12-12 - 12:49 AM
cool game and all, but for me the lack of a dash button makes it pretty much unplayable. Maybe I just got spoiled on MMX.
Orgrim 10-25-12 - 05:32 PM
I beat the first boss with the blaster before I figured out how to use saber. I thought he was hard because ZERO is an old game. It never occurred to me that any boss in an old game could be easy!
