My megaman Zero 2 review   Frodlex
Hey, Welcome to my review I hope you enjoy it. This is only my 3rd review so I'm sorry if I make a few mistakes or if it seems poorly done, Anyway Let me get started.
Graphics: Alright.. We're gonna start this off with graphics just like every other review I'm going to be doing. The Graphics in this game run nice and smoothly, While they aren't the best they look good and make the game look good. Sure, It's absolutely no Skyrim... But even that has it's flaws and besides, This is GBA. The thing I liked about the graphics in this game is that I couldn't help but pay attention to what goes around with more than just the platforms and stage dangers. I actually looked at the background and the details. And yes, This game is really detailed, While there are better there are also a lot worse out there. My score... 9.
Sound: The soundtrack in this game is really quite impressive. For example, The sound track has some of my favorite songs. Mainly the song that plays right before you start the intro level. If you want to know what I mean just play the game, It's worth it. As for the sound effects. There are better but at least they are properly synced with the graphics. There is even some voice acting in it, Mind you it's in Japanese but who needs details? (You would probably prefer them.) This games sound is impressive. My score... 9.
Addictiveness: This game got me hooked the first time I played it... The story.. The game play... Oh man.. I beat it three times straight before I played another game, I loved it. The game is really good if you want a game to replay and replay. Let's say you have a GBA and are looking for a game on the cheap that is good for truly getting your moneys worth, I would recommend this to you. I can easily see someone like me getting addicted to this game, Take the member "The Planned Accident" for an example, While not exactly obsessed his profile picture is of this game series and is his favorite series, I really don't have more to say on this though. My score...8.
Story: Oh man... The entire Mega man Zero series is amazing when it comes to story. You can easily become attached to most of the characters. The series takes place a hundred years after Mega man X came to an end. This specific game in the series will throw you for a loop part way through.. I don't want to say too much to avoid spoilers but I do want to convince you that this is a game worth playing. My score... 9.
Depth: This game takes practice to master. And I mean a lot of practice, There is a lot to do every play through of this game though. There are a lot of hidden things you can find and nice and large levels that really help you enjoy the game. It's also pretty long compared to some other Mega man games. My score... 7.
Difficulty: If you're new to this style of game expect to die a lot, I'm sorry but I'm not going to lie to you, It's kind hard. After some practice it gets easier and you should be pretty good by the end of the game. Once you get as good as I am (Okay maybe not quite as good as I am, I'm really good.) it's more of a matter of how fast you can beat it and not whether or not you can beat it, This game was one designed for Pros to be able to speed-rush. But this game can pose more of a challenge compared to some of the other Mega man games due to the fact that you have to get up close if you want to deal fast damage and speed past enemies. This game has a lot of stages and each one is well designed as well as adding a new challenge, This game can be a total pain if you don't have experience and I would recommend having a little experience with the mega man series before attempting this game although you can just pick this up with no experience and go from there. This game also features bosses that all have unique moves that can take down a considerable amount of health, Although it is possible to raise you max health you won't get as high of a score with the bonuses and you can't remove them without restarting all of your progress. So to do well in this game is actually quite challenging without a lot of practice. My score...8.
Overall: This game is great. It has good graphics (for a GBA), A good sound track, great replay ability, an outstanding story, and it's nice and deep as well as giving players a mild challenge. In the rest of this review I'm going to go over what I like and don't like about this game. I hope you enjoy reading these and don't hate me for my opinions, As a reviewer it's my job to express how I feel about this game, Isn't that right? Anyway... Overall this game has a lot of amazing aspects about it... My overall score for it is 9.7. Might be a little high but I Don't think it matters too much.
Well, This is it, I hope you enjoy reading my review. Let me know what you think with a comment and please rate it. Good luck with this game if you choose to play it. Bye.

Zero is back (Mega Man Zero 2 Review)   tornadocam
The legendary hero Zero is back in this great game. I will be reviewing and critiquing Mega Man Zero 2. So here we go with my review.
Story: 9
Mega Man Zero 2 had a very good story to it. The way the game starts of is like this. Zero is wondering in the desert taking out enemies. However, Zero is very tired and worn out, and feels like he can't go on farther. Suddenly, a giant maverick appears, Zero is able to defeat the magnet. But he collapses. Meanwhile, Harupia, who is one of the guardians of Neo Arcadia, takes Zero back to the Resistance base. Zero, is repaired and fully rested when he discovers Ciel is still doing research. Ciel's research is being done in hopes of ending the war and restoring peace. Zero, also finds that a new reploid by the name of Elpizo is the commander of the Resistance. Elpizo, decides to launch a head on assault on Neo Arcadia, which ends up in high casualties. Furthermore, Elpizo has discovered the key to the Dark Elf and plans to use it. The reasoning is Elpizo wants to be respected and rule with power. So, Elpizo lets things go to his head, which has turned him into a Maverick. Zero, must help the Resistance out, go after Elpizo, and prevent a major war from breaking out. He also finds himself at odds with the guardians of Neo Arcadia Harupia (the Leader), Leviathan, and Fefnir. The guardians and Zero do not really know they are on the same side and are out to stop evil.
Okay, I really liked the plot in this game for several reasons. First of all, I thought it was creative and that Capcom did a good job introducing the characters in this game. Second, the story line has a bit of suspense and mystery to it. The game does not tell why Harupia brought Zero to the Resistance base. Also, the players do not know who the bad guy really is until halfway into the game. I thought not having the bad guy revealed until the middle of the game was something new. In previous Mega Man games most of the time players knew who the bad guy was right off the bat. Third, there is drama involved here concerning the heroes. In fact, the story does a good job of pointing out the rivals between the heroes. The guardians are at odds with Zero, but yet they are working toward the same goal. Therefore, I could tell that Capcom really took time in developing this game, by giving it an awesome story. Thus, I give the story a good solid rating of 9 out of 10.
Graphics & Controls: 10
The graphics in Mega Man Zero 2 rocked, and showed what the Game Boy Advance was capable of. I really liked the stages in this game. The lightening in some of the stages was a very nice touch. I am a weather person, so that was bonus points in my book. Also, I liked how the ice just seemed to shine in the ice level. In fact, all of the backgrounds had good color in them, which is what I like to see. Moreover, Zero colors change depending on what type of armor he is wearing. That, was a very nice touch and his sprints do not change. The sprints in this game were awesome. Enemies', colors were great and their attacks were nicely done. In addition, the sprints of the mavericks splitting in half while there dying was quite nice. Zero, as I mentioned had awesome sprints no matter the weapon the player equips him with. Also, the Resistance soldiers look like actual soldiers, which is nice. However, I do have a small little problem with the Neo Arcadia soldiers. Why, did Capcom continue to have them look like zombies? I have just never really understood why the first three Zero games had the Neo Arcadia soldiers looking like that.
The controls were amazing in this game. Zero, has very good controls not matter what weapon he is using. In fact, of all the games in this series the controls were the greatest in this game. I can also make an argument that the controls in this game rival some of the classic Mega Man Games as well as some of the X games. The classic games that had good controls were: 7, V, IV, 5, 4 and 3. The X games that had very good controls were: X2, X3 and X6. So, Mega Man Zero 2 rivals those games I mentioned concerning controls. Therefore, I give the graphics and controls of Zero 2 a perfect score of 10 out of 10. I don't like the Neo Arcadia soldiers looking like Zombies, but that is very minor. So, it does not hurt the rating at all.
Sound: 9
The sound in this game was nicely done. A lot of the stage's themes I felt like were relaxing and quite enjoyable. The bosses' themes were also a nice touch. In addition, Zero's weapon sounds were amazing. I like how Zero's buster sounds like a machine gun. I think that was nicely done, it sounds cool, and it lets the player know their bullets are doing damage. Moreover, Zero's saber has its cool sound just like it did in the X series games. The enemies sounds are also nice. The bullets coming from the enemies sound powerful, which lets the player know they will do lots of damage if they hit Zero. Furthermore, there are no tingles in this game, which I like, because I hate tingles in games. However, there is one problem with the sound in this game. Sometimes while fighting the mavericks in this game, it sounds like they are speaking in a foreign language. To some players that does not bother. But, I kind of would like to know what they are saying in battle. Just to be clear, I am not making fun of foreign languages. I just like to be able to understand what the characters are saying. Still, Zero 2 had the best sound compared to the other Zero games in the series. Thus, I give Zero 2's sound a good solid rating of 9 out of 10.
Addictiveness and Depth: 9
This game is my favorite one in the Zero series. In fact, this game in my opinion has the highest replay value compared to the others. Zero 2 has so much to offer that it makes it fun to replay the game again. Do not get me wrong, the other Zero games were fun too. But, this one is just special in its own ways.
The Depth of Zero 2 is very good. In fact, Zero 2 had the best depth compared to the others in the Zero series. There is just a lot of stuff to collect and do in this game. First of all, Zero can unlock several armor pieces with a different color, which is nice. Second, Zero can learn abilities from the mavericks (Neo Arcadians) that he defeats. Third, the player can unlock several modes to this game by completing missions or beating the game. The modes are basically sub games. Fourth, Zero can improve his ranking system by killing enemies and defeating bosses. In addition, there are cyber elves to collect, power ups, and other stuff to collect in this game. So, Zero 2 has a lot of items to search for and collect. Moreover, the ability to unlock the sub games makes this game as I stated fun to play through again. Capcom really knew what they were doing by adding so much depth to this game. I often find it enjoyable to play through the game as long as I can with a special power or armor suit. Therefore, the depth really made Zero 2 shine. Thus, I give the replay value and depth a good solid score of 9 out of 10.
Difficulty 8
If Zero 2 suffers from anything it is its difficulty. Zero 2 is a hard game but it is not like the third or forth game in this series. The 3rd and 4th game just bury you in difficulty. So, this game is difficult but doable. There are several thins that make this game difficult. First of all, the enemy placement in this game will cause you to get hit. Every stage, has lots of enemies. It is so easy to find yourself getting shot at, hit from behind, swarmed, so you can lose health quickly in this game if you are not careful. Second, some stages are timed. There a few times in this game were you will have to deal with the enemies as well as beating the clock. Failure to beat the clock can result in a failed mission or the loss of a life. In addition, some of the bosses attacks are vicious. I can remember fighting a few bosses that just spam you with attacks. Also, the guardians are very hard to defeat as they will spam you and do other things to you. Moreover, a lot of the bosses in this stage have a ton of health. So, yeah Zero 2 can be a difficult game to take on. But it is the good kind of difficulty. Zero 2 challenges your skills, creativity to solve puzzles, and reflexes. The player will need all 3 to get far into this game as well as beat it.
Now, as hard as this game is; Capcom does give you ways to overcome the obstacles. First of all, having an armor piece can go a long way in this game. Some armor pieces reduce the damage intake, and they also allow you to charge your attacks faster. Second, there are a lot of power ups and weapons to collect in this game. Having, several chances to power up and having the ability to carry extra weapons can really help out with the enemy placement in this game. Moreover, it can also do extra damage to bosses so that helps too. Therefore, these are the reasons why Zero 2 is difficult but not like the 3rd and 4th game. I think Capcom was really trying to help players out in this game by giving them resources. Because, in the 3rd and 4th game there were not that many power ups as well as extra weapons. Thus, since the game tries to help you out a bit. I give the difficulty in this game a good score of 8 out of 10.
Overall: 9.4
Zero 2 is the game that many say put the Zero series on the map. I personally, agree with that. Of all 4 games in the Zero line this one is my favorite. What is there not to love about this game? The graphics, sound, depth and difficulty is what makes this game a great game to play. In fact, I play this game the most compared to the other Zero games. They were fun too as I have referenced several times, but this one is special. Zero 2 showed not what the Zero series was capable of, but what the Game Boy advance was capable of as well. Everything a great game has, this one has. The graphics were the best in this game compared to the others. The sound was very awesome. The depth is very good. The difficulty of this game is tough, but it is the good kind of difficulty. Players who pick up this game prepare to be challenged concerning skills, creativity, and, reflexes. Getting back to the sound, I am a soft rock type guy so I was glad that this sound track was similar to soft rock. If anybody is new to the Zero series I would recommend that they play this game first before the others. Mega Man Zero 2, also introduces the characters as I mentioned very well. Yeah, the first game did, but it was Zero 2 that players learned what their personalities were like. So, what can I say I really loved playing this game. I will even suggests that this is my favorite Game Boy Advance game. Games do not get much better than this on the Game Boy Advance system. Therefore, would I recommend this game? Yes, I am happy to say I would highly recommend this game. If you play this game you might not want to put it down, because it is that good. As I stated if your new to the Zero series, then I suggest you play this game first. Thus, at the end of the day I give Mega Man Zero 2 a good score of 9.4.

Megaman Zero 2 Review   The Planned Acc..
Overall: 9.4
I like this game much more than Mega-man Zero 1. The storyline is engaging, the graphics are about as good as the first one, the sound is much better, this game is just as addictive as the first one, if not, more. This game is a little bit easier, too. Overall, this game gets a thumbs up.
Graphics: 7
The graphics in this game are as good or slightly better than the first one. The animation is still very smooth, the environments are just as good as the first game's graphics. Only, in this game there's more environments to explore. The graphics are pretty good, but not the best.
Sound: 9
The sound in this game is much better than the sound in the first one. They have much better, much less repetitive music in each stage, and songs only repeat in only a couple stages. Other than that, each stage has its own song. The sounds the characters make are just as good as the first. They added many new enemies, and sounds, making the sound quality of this game extremely good, in my opinion.
Addictiveness: 9
This game is very fun to play. You'll love to go through and beat all the bosses, and engage into the storyline. You won't want to stop until you've completed the entire game. Overall, the game's addictiveness is very high.
Story: 9
This game's storyline is a lot better than the first game's, in my opinion. It's much more engaging, and has more plot twists. Some of them, completely unexpected. At times, you have no idea where this game is going. The characters get more developed in this game, too. They have distinct personalities each very different from one another. And there's many more characters you can go talk to, and they can give you advice, and stuff like that. And, like the first game, I like how this game leads into the third one. The storyline gets a 9 from me.
Depth: 8
You'll spend a little more time on this game than the first game. There's more cyber elves than the original. Plus, you get them in more creative ways. The storyline is longer in this game than the first game. There's much more to do, and the battles in this game get more intense than the first. I guess you could say that this is the game where things start heating up in the series. You'll spend at least 5-6 hours on it to beat the storyline. Overall, the depth is better than the first, and you'll spend a good amount of time playing it.
Difficulty: 5
This game is much easier than the first game, in my opinion. The only trouble you'll really have is some of the bosses, and finding all the cyber elves. The stages are pretty easy, can be difficult at times, but you won't have too much trouble slashing and shooting your way through them. This game isn't really that difficult. You'll have almost no trouble getting through it if you know what you're doing. You won't have very much trouble even if you don't know what you're doing.
Wrap things up:
This is a fun pick, and a great game. It's got a very good story, and is just overall, a better game. I highly recommend you play through this game at least once. You'll enjoy slashing your way to victory with your Z-saber. I hope anyone who plays this game has a great time, and good luck.

Megaman Zero 2 Review   M4g1cW4rr10r
While browsing games, I found this game. I've never played any of the Zero series, so I figured I'd give it a try. So, I went in with a positive attitude, and guess what? I hate it. I died far into the first level and spawned at the start of the level. I literally was right before the boss. Besides horrible checkpoints, there's many other flaws, especially design flaws from my perspective of game design. Anyone who's looking to get into game design shouldn't take example off this game, and I'll explain why. (Unless it's a kaizo challenge.)
Gameplay:
Near the end of the story line upon starting a new game, (Which if there is no save file, will immediately start the game) Zero will say a line that will pretty much warn you how bad this game is, and you should heed his warning and go play something else. However, if you're willing to pass this game up, I'll give you the idea. You play as Zero, armed with Buster Gun and Zero's Saber. As you fight with either weapons, you can level them up to increase their abilities. About four of five hits will end Zero's life, and the mission will fail, starting you back at the start of the level, no matter how far, as mentioned. The only way you can possibly get a checkpoint is going through a door. Some levels have NO doors at all, thus making checkpoints impossible. Even if there are doors, there are a lot of chances to die along the way. Continuing through the first level, you come to a miniboss. I guess this is easy, it has a little pattern, when it shoots from its back cannon, go to the left, front cannon, go the right. Shoot him a few times in the face with a charged shot, and it's down. Go a little further through the stage slashing a few baddies and... *Same miniboss appears* Really? Not 30 seconds later the exact same miniboss appears. Trust me, you'll see a lot more of these. And there's less room to stand on! After beating the miniboss for the second time,
you come to the boss right after the miniboss. This boss will probably kill you, and send you back to square one, due to his hard-to-dodge attacks and his ability to create bottomless pits. My hypothesis? Backtrack and grind some energy. Unfortunately, this comes to a problem. You may have noticed your ranking, an F. As you complete levels, you will based on different aspects. Such as objective completion, time, damage, enemies defeated, and items used.
Our problem is that achieving good ranks on these aspects is near impossible. Making it through the level is also ridiculous as the enemies are placed in some of the most annoying spots, doing lots of damage and/or making you fall into an instant kill trap. This game has those Castlevania/Ninja Gaiden traits, which are: Difficult jumps, lots of instant death from pits or instant death traps, and enemies placed in spots to mess you up. This game gives you extra lives, but it’s almost pointless because of the absence of checkpoints, and
this is one of those games where you die, die, die. With enemies that hit you a lot, long levels, too much damage that you have to use items, getting good ranks is difficult as ever, as these are key attributes to get most of the grade. Think of it as a science report grade, all the ways you present it are graded. As mentioned, there are items besides life energy and crystal. (Some form of currency I’ll explain the use of.) These items are called Cyber-Elfs. There are three types of Cyber-Elfs: Nurse, ones that heal you, Animal, various effects mostly obtained from enemies, and Hacker, very helpful but hidden Elfs that hack the game. We could just use cheat codes, but if the game will give us in-game cheats, that’s alright too. Some Elfs will need to be fed Crystals to grow and use their powers. As helpful as these little guys are, they are in a limited quantity. You may be wondering how they’re limited as some are obtained from enemies. You can tell you only get them once, due to some of them giving the same effects. Due to how limited they are, you won’t give the full effect of enjoyment. I know about one time items like the Master Ball (Although you CAN get more if you’re extremely lucky.) but when they’re so needed to
complete the game, it really becomes a problem. Let’s just wrap this up before I get mad just thinking about it.
Graphics: 10
The graphics are once again very great and the background and objects are all very fitting for each area. The cutscene pictures are also very nicely done, and really show all details.
Sound: 9
The sound is okay, but some of the sound effects I can’t help but be annoyed by, mostly the death sound, as, you guessed it, you die constantly.
Addictiveness: 3
Although the game is a straight shot, this game is unplayable for me. And, even though I am one of those people who play bad games mostly to make fun of them, I do not joke when I want to throw this game down and play something like Battletoads.
Story: 8
As far as I know, the story continues off Megaman Zero 1, but I wouldn’t know. The intro stage’s story is pretty confusing itself. This probably isn’t a fair judgement, but honestly, with the fact that the bad guys save Zero, and enjoy the pain Zero inflicts upon them(?), I think this is fair enough.
Depth: 6
Your weapons are upgradeable, and you have the Cyber-Elfs, but as explained, the Cyber-Elfs are a one time use, and never to be used again.
Difficulty: 10
Do I have to explain why I gave it a 10? You really have to play it to get a feel for what I mean. I didn’t mention the Chain Rod, the gimmick weapon. It’s an interesting weapon/gimmick that allows you to latch on walls or ceiling to swing. It can also be used to grab objects and items. It is slightly delayed (Sound familiar?) which leads to some problems. A lot of the uses of this weapon is to swing across instant death traps. If you do not time it right and attach to the wall/ceiling, you will die. There are no cheat codes for the game, except for secrets.
OVERALL: 6.2
If it wasn’t for the gameplay’s outrageous difficulty, I might have given this a good rating. Definitely not the game you want to start with on the Zero series. Sometimes I think to myself how games like this can possibly be played on the GameBoy Advance. I know there’s the extension for the GameCube, but I still find it unbelieveable. Maybe I just suck. But then again, the Megaman Homepage rates this the hardest difficulty out of 5 and they don’t rate lightly. So, until my next review, I leave you with this, and I’m sorry you passed it up.

Megaman Zero 2 Review   Sairek Ceareste
Megaman Zero 2 takes place 1 year after the first game and Zero has left the Resistance Base behind. Zero still battles Neo Arcadia, but he no longer knows the reason why he fights or why he is hunted down by them anymore. He feels he needs to once again find the Ciel and the Resistance forces in order to find his purpose.
Graphics: 9
This game has done a whole different turn compared to the original Megaman Zero. The art style on both the game backgrounds and the character portraits have changed completely. The Dialogue box is one text smaller which means the character faces are box-shaped instead of rectangular, meaning that the faces are not as large as before; yet they look better as the faces look like actual anime portraits rather than if they were a old-styled painting. However, some of the colors of character portraits do not match up; for example, the portraits show Zero's head being red and gray in the middle with gray eyes; when Zero's head is in fact with red and a navy blue in the middle, with blue navy blue eyes as they present with anime styled snapshots in cut scenes and as well as in the previous game. Some effects have changed such as Zero's dash after-image effect being red instead of blue (which makes more sense) in the previous game. Some effects have had a few animations added on to them. The backgrounds are now extremely colorful, and usually highly animated. Even at the very beginning you are in a completely dead desert wasteland, but you get to see a beautiful background with a sky of various colors with a setting sun that wavers around signalling the desolate heat of the area. All backgrounds whether outside or inside of a buildings are either filled with lots of objects that are colorful that fill up empty space, or have an animating object in them, such as a light in the background flickering or a dripping pipeline. The anime snapshots for cut scenes too have greatly improved, although are slightly blurry in comparison to their original game's counterparts as if they were made almost too small and had to be re-sized. These snapshots are far more frequent than in the previous game as well.
Many of the character sprites are the same as before, although enemies now feel much more lively, having a few sets more of animation. All boss characters have have full sets of idle animations, and their attack animations have quite a few frames in them making them feel more realistic and alive and it helps the feeling of a quick paced game.
Zero too, has a whole set more of animations with him being able to change color as well, giving a little bit more diversity on the main character you see on the screen and not seeing the same repeated animations of Zero over and over seem as stale. However, Zero does have a completely whole new set of animations to work with due to Ex-skills being added to the game and the animations on them feel very convincing and makes the skills feel unique and powerful to use compared to your own standard attacks.
Sound: 10
Megaman Zero 2 literally makes the Gameboy Advance SING. The introduction song on the first stage alone being called 'Departure' for example has been made popular throughout the ENTIRE Megaman series genre, including the side series; being about as popular as Megaman 2's Dr.Wily Castle Stage 1 (and I may add that it is literally now my favorite music soundtrack of all time. Literally). The music in this game fits the atmosphere of every single level, being quick upbeat, and the melodies being easily hummable and sounding completely fantastic all at the same time. There are a few areas that do however betray the pace of the gameplay but these areas are usually less action oriented, and are more platform oriented, sometimes with minor puzzles meaning that they still fit well in position to the game.
There are more diverse voice clips in the game with Zero having a few more grunt voice clips, and a couple of them being slightly higher quality and louder to make them more apparent than they were in the previous game. Bosses themselves are almost fully voice clipped with their attacks either giving grunts, or even complete speech with their attacks. Although again this is still in Japanese, the voice acting is still however convincing and matches the ferocity of the enemy's attacks just with the intensity of their tone. Some main character NPCs such as Ciel have minor voice acting as well when you speak to them. Considering the quality of the Gameboy Advance, Megaman Zero 2 does a fantastic job of working around the 16-bit low quality of sound and makes it sound just as good as console games despite that.
Addictiveness: 8
Megaman Zero 2 has a lot more replay value than Megaman Zero 1 did. It still features the exact same Cyber Elf system although some Cyber Elves are revamped and changed, and a few more different abilities have either been completely changed or removed (such as a Cyber Elf in the previous game that would increase how much time you have in a timed mission would now decrease the time it takes you to charge you weapons). Unlike Megaman Zero 1 however, you now get to collect forms which will change your attack, changing how much damage you dealt; change your defense which decided how much damage you would block from an enemy's attack, and speed which... I honestly doesn't seem to actually increase or decrease; rather it just changes Zero's attack pattern with his Z-saber. Meaning that instead of being able to do a three-combo slash, you may only be reduced to one single slash. Or instead of a standard 3-combo slash, you would preform a more advanced rising saber stab which would do more damage than the standard slash. Forms as well sometimes had special abilities, such as being able to attack bullets with your saber and delete them, or being able to recover twice the amount of life from a life-crystal drop.
The bigger change is the addition to Ex-Skills. You obtain an Ex-Skill from each boss you defeat while your mission rating is either at the A or S rank. Ex-skills were either selected to be turned off or on, and you can use them such as holding up, and then attacking with the saber to do a rising jump slash. They could be combo'd together as well; such as a rising jump slash, and then holding down and attack with the saber again to do a stab for a large amount of damage in a very quick amount of time. Ex-skills were also further powered by elemental chips which you also find by defeating the bosses at the start of the game. This means that you'd have to play the game EXTREMELY well in order to get all of the Ex-skills since your Skill level was based on how well you did on the missions. If you got level B or lower, you would miss out on that Ex-skill for the rest of the game and if you wanted to collect it again, you would need to do a new game plus.
Much like Ex-skills, you need to fulfill certain varying conditions to obtain different forms in Megaman Zero 2. These were generally much harder to get because the game doesn't exactly tell you how to obtain forms.
Like the previous game, you could level up your weapons, although there are far less levels for every type of weapon. Also they removed passive abilities weapons had from the previous game, such as leveling up the weapon "Shield Boomerang" would not passively increase your defense for the rest of the game. This is most likely due to the addition of forms being able to do that. Levels are also much quicker to obtain, meaning they take a lot less time to grind to their respective maximums.
Just like Megaman Zero 1, clearing the game would also unlock at Hard mode. The Hard mode was vastly different than the first game. Once again you were denied the access of power ups, and you were locked into a form that would not allow you to charge your weapons at all on exception to the Shield Boomerang (which needs to be fully charged to even be used to attack with). You took double damage in this form, although you dealt double damage as well with all of your attacks, and your speed was set as default although all of your weapon levels would remain at one. You are not able to use Ex-skills and obtain Cyber Elves, making the mission score rating no matter. Beating the game with this mode on your file would unlock a new form on a normal game which acted like the hard-mode form; you deal double damage, and take double damage. However in normal mode you would still be able to use Cyber Elves, Ex-Skills, charge your weapons, etc.
Unlike in Megaman Zero 1, you must (thankfully) complete ALL missions and cannot skip any of them. However, the free roaming aspect of all the maps being connected together in the game are gone, and the game has gone back to its old classic roots of each stage being separated from each other.
Story: 9
The story is far more active and engaging, due to the fact that you cannot skip missions, every single mission you do usually has at least a small bit of the storyline in them. You get a selection of missions that you can do in any order you prefer at your discretion, but you must finish those batch of missions before you are allowed to receive a more important storyline mission, which then gives you the next batch of missions. Sometimes you will be forced to do two storyline missions in a row. This constantly feeds you the story and never feels like you are necessarily "working" to advance with the game as the flow of storyline, while slower at points, is at least always constant. The game has Zero as a character be much more engaging, actually saying more than a few lines of text this time, he speaks almost just as much as every other main character.
The story in Megaman Zero 2 does a much better job at pacing itself, eventually leading up to the climax and never seeming to go either too slow or too fast. The game however does not have any direct conclusion, for they planned to continue the story on to the next game which is Megaman Zero 3. The story is very engaging and when it is a tension filled moment, you may very well feel that tension, or if it is a sad moment, you will feel that sadness. The music too, does a good job expressing the emotion to help you feel the moment.
Depth: 8
Megaman Zero 2 only has a little bit more to offer as far as depth goes from Megaman Zero 1. You still need to grind your weapon skills and farm up energy crystals to feed your cyber elves to grow so that they are still usable. Thankfully, this literally takes half the amount of time to do now. Almost all of the Energy crystal requirements on Cyber elves is almost reduced by half, meaning you are not literally spending hours running back and forth between an area of the game just to get enough crystals for a single Cyber Elf. Also, since stages do not change over time in the story like the first game, you can never permanently miss a Cyber Elf. It will stay there hidden until you go back and get it so it will not permanently cripple you late game if it was a very important one, like a maximum health increase.
There are also Sub-Tanks which you can find in this game as well, which will store any excess Life energy you pick up if your health is full which can be recycled for later use. Some Elves turn into Sub-Tanks as well; but using those kind of elves will still permanently hurt your mission score for the REST OF YOUR SAVE FILE. Permanent upgrades such as maximum health and turning an Elf into a Sub-tank will ALWAYS subtract points from your mission score even on a new game plus since they are still in use. This means that Ex-skills are almost virtually impossible to obtain if you missed out on some, and the only way to obtain them again is to use MORE Cyber-Elves which will temporarily make your level become Level A for only the duration of the mission; allowing you to get the Ex-skill no matter how good or bad you do. Your Mission score level will then return back to its appropriate level after obtaining the Ex-skill. These Cyber-Elves DO respawn but it means you will have to repeat the game many many many times before you can get all the Ex-skills since they are limited in numbers and will only respawn on a new-game plus for you to collect again. In a way, this makes you feel like using Cyber-Elves as a whole are a bad game until you've at least gotten all the Ex-skills, and it is not a good feeling. At least in the previous game it was only for one Cyber-Elf power up, since Ex-skills were not introduced.
Difficulty: 10
This game is HARD. FAR harder than the previous game. Every SINGLE stage has at LEAST one death trap in it. Some stages have two, some have a ridiculous amount of THREE death traps per stage. Many of the bosses themselves are BUILT around instant kill death traps. This makes health in the game almost completely pointless, because 95% of the time you're not going to die by an enemy, but falling down an bottomless pit; being thrown into a spike, or crushed by the level itself. This game will have you making several blind jumps, or standing on extremely narrow platforms while being shot at from all directions where one shot will knock you off; or making you fight a boss or sub-boss where you only have a small narrow platform to make your stand on. This game's length is not necessarily long due to being a long game; but long because you ARE going to die over and over and over again. You get punished for using power-ups to make the game easier which will unfortunately in turn come back to bite you in the butt when you don't have those ever-so-precious Ex-skills you are going to want.
The bosses themselves are extremely even if they DON'T have an instant death-trap implemented in them. Without Cyber Elf power ups, some of the bosses will literally take nearly half of your health in one single hit. Don't even get my started with how near nigh impossible Hard mode is to complete as you will lose a life if you take only two or three hits from a boss enemy. If you can find a Sub-tank however the boss damage becomes not nearly as bad, but sub-tanks will not save you from the constant flooding of one-hit-kill level disasters which flood every stage. Yes, even the first stage has many bottomless pits and even the sub-boss of the stage has you standing on a little platform while shooting at you, trying to knock you off. Even the boss at the end of the stage will chase you down, creating several bottomless pits around you as you desperately try to run and gun it away. However, when you do complete one of those stages, you feel not only very relieved, but very very proud. This game is probably not the best game for someone starting the series to try. You will most likely rage quit. This game is acts as if you played the first game already, know exactly what to do, and it is a direct exact continuation with almost no difficulty curve; the game difficulty is nearly a line that is almost off the charts rivaling the classic Megaman series for the NES because once you pass the first mission of just bottomless pit deathtraps, the second stage is going to give you bottomless pits that you have to fearlessly literally swing across; spikes, lots and lots of spikes which will send you BACK to the beginning of the stage, and then the stage will then attempt to crush you -- with a wall of spikes -- from multiple directions. And then you have to battle the boss on a moving platform that wiggles and wobbles everywhere with the rest of the battle arena being nothing but a bottomless pit as the boss's every attack will almost certainly knock you off. This game requires PLENTY of either skill, or patience.
Overall Score: 9.2
Megaman Zero 2 despite its ridiculously high difficulty of expecting you to pretty much complete every stage like you played them fifty times if not more, is still an extremely really fun game. Very action packed and fast paced for a hand held console that you could play anywhere on the go. The game is far from holding your hand and doesn't give you even close to enough advice as the first game did with introducing you into everything; it literally just throws you right into it Ninja-Gaiden style. From the very beginning of the game you are literally being chased by a giant army of Neo Arcadians with the intention to destroy you and you have to stumble your way through hordes of enemies. If you played many Megaman games period, you will understand the difficulties this game offers being very much like the classical games with a completely ramped up combat system that is even quicker paced than before. Failure is always a learning experience and success feels fantastic because you're like "YES!! I DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT ANYMORE! THANK THE LORD I DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT ANYMORE!!" And then are thrown with a challenge that is just as horrible.
You will iron out the difficulty eventually as you overcome ridiculous challenge after ridiculous challenge and better your game skills until you eventually reach the end. And when you do, you will most likely say that all of the trouble and hardship you have went through was worth it.

Megaman Zero 2 Review   Marcmoney
Overall - 9.2
Megaman Zero 2 is a good game to play on the Game Boy Advance.  After playing the first one, I realize that playing the second one would be even more fun.  It is not quite actually.  I will explain it soon, but right now the game itself looks the same as the first one.  Same graphics and same sounding.  It is just a whole different story that connects to the first one.
Graphics - 8
The graphics, like I said, are the same as the first one.  It looks good.  The effects are the best cause it will show awesome flashes and cool powers that you can use.  I like it a lot.
Sound - 9
The sound is the same as the first game.  It makes the game sound awesome and interesting to play.  The sound effects are good too.  I just love the way it sounds, it brings back that feeling in the past.
Addictiveness - 8
I would play this a lot of times.  I just love the way the game plays.  It gets addicting sometimes and I just love that feeling.  It is a great adventure for Zero.
Story - 10
The story starts out with Zero being in some kind of desert wearing a brown robe and just walking.  Texts will show up saying that is has been a year since Zero chose to take a different path from Ciel and the battles have lost the meaning of him.  He knows that his purpose is to find Ciel and her soldiers.  As the texts goes off, Zero sees the enemy soldiers and he does this cool move where he gets rid of the robe and starts fighting them.  This is where you come in and start your first mission.  That seems to be the coolest story ever and that I just love the way it starts off.  I am not telling you the rest of the story cause that is up to you to find out.
Depth - 8
The game has the same features as the first one.  You can equip weapons and charge up your weapon to perform a stronger attack.  I really like these things cause it is more helpful than the one on the NES.  What I like the most about it is that you can wall jump on one wall repeatedly.  That is like the best thing to have in a Megaman game.
Difficulty - 5
The game is quite hard in the beginning.  I feel bad about this cause it took me a while to beat the first level.  I hated versing the boss in the first level cause it takes a while to destroy it and what is worse about it is that you have to verse it again later in the level.  I hate it, it is like a repeat that will never end.  Other than that, the rest of the game is mostly fair.  It really should not be that hard to play after being the first level.
Wrap Things Up...
Megaman Zero 2 is a great game to play, but I still prefer playing the first one instead of the second one.  I recommend trying this game out if you have not already.  It is fun to play one game after the other cause it really bring you that memory back from the previous game you played. :)

A Very Celebrational Mega Man Zero 2 Review   UncleBalrog
It's UncleBalrog yet again with another review!! Getting sick of these yet? Well too bad. This is going to be another very special game review, for two reasons. The first is that this is the next game in the amazing Mega Man Zero series, my favorite in the franchise. The second reason is that this review will be my 10th post on the esteemed VizzedBoard!!! That's right, the day after I post this review will be the day I become a Normal Member on VizzedBoard! I'm pretty excited to finally be elevated to Normal Member, as I love VizzedBoard and I've been a Newbie for about 7 months...it's pretty funny if you ask me. I didn't start posting until recently, so that's why I haven't been elevated to Normal Member for so long. Either way, you came here for the review and not my life story, so let's get to it!
Graphics: The Graphics get a solid rating of 8, and here's why I think that.  The graphics for the first Zero game were pretty freakin' good for a mere Game Boy Advance title. Mega Man Zero 2, on the other hand, adds plenty of new animations and sprites for almost all the characters, most notably for Zero. I'll explain the new sprites for Zero later in the review, so don't worry. One more thing about the graphics though. I've never experienced ANY graphical glitches at all with this game. None whatsoever.
Sound: The Sound gets a very high 9, both for being awesome and improving significantly over the first Zero game's soundtrack. If you played the first Mega Man Zero game, you'd notice quite a few sketchy tracks for the music. Some of it was even a tad lackluster, even though I gave it such a high rating when I reviewed it a few days ago. They almost completely changed all the "instruments" they used in the first game, and for whatever reason it sounds far better. They also updated quite a few of the sound effects as well. The first one you'll probably recognize is the sound effect for Z-Saber slashes. It sounds more like Zero's saber from Mega Man X4. Well, more than Zero 1's Z-Saber did at least. There's also more voiced characters than Zero 1, where only the 4 Guardians and Copy X had voices. Speaking of the 4 Guardians, their voice clips have been updated as well, and they now sound a bit clearer. Zero also yells when he uses an EX Skill, but I'll explain those later. By later I mean in the next section of the review, so get ready...
Addictiveness: A perfect score, 10/10. This game keeps every good thing about the gameplay that the original Zero game had, and vastly expands on it by putting the Ranking System to good use. Remember back when you (yes, YOU) were playing Mega Man Zero and wondering why you were being evaluated on how well you completed your missions? Well, here's the solution: Playing Mega Man Zero 2! Yes, the ranking system is now full of meaning by letting you earn a boss's EX Skill when you clear the mission with an A or S Rank! Now you're pressured to be good at the game in order to obtain the cool stuff! This also brings back the classic, "Beat dudes up and take their weapons" mentality from the older Mega Man games, only this time you have to beat em' up good. However, if you get something crappy like a B or below, you get NOTHING! You LOSE! Good day sir! Heheh, see what I did there? Hmm, maybe not. Well, old movie references aside, this game still has the weapon levels from the previous game, but that only really affects you at the beginning of the game. By the time you clear the first line of missions you should have your Z-Saber almost maxed out, and your Buster leveled up completely. If you're good with the new rod, the Chain Rod, as well as the Shield Boomerang, you could possibly level those up as well. In addition to the new weapons, and the new EX Skills, Zero now has several different Forms you can choose from to change your play style. You can unlock the different Forms by clearing missions after fulfilling certain requirements. The Forms are rated in Speed, Defense, and Power. They also provide you with different methods of attacking, or give bonuses to certain weapons. For example, the Erase Form lets you delete enemy shots by slashing them with your saber. The Forms also change your color as well. The X Form turns you light blue and gives you a bonus to your Buster, powering up your shots and letting you have 4 shots onscreen at the same time. The Rise Form turns you green and is almost like your basic form, except the third slash of your Z-Saber combo is now an uppercut that is good for taking out enemies that are slightly far above you. I'm not going to go in depth for all the forms, as this was just a simple preview of some of the ones you can unlock. There are plenty of ones to choose from, and each offers a different style of play that is unique to each form. There's also a hidden form that you can unlock after completely upgrading every Cyber-Elf in the game...or so I've heard. Nah, there really is. Try to unlock it and post a screenshot of it, I'll give ya 100 Viz if you do.
...Okay, I was just kidding about giving you Viz, but if you've unlocked the special form then congrats!
Story: This game's story takes place two months after the end of Zero 1. Nothing too important happened in those 2 months (except for Zero fighting Pantheons for THAT LONG...) , so you could think of this as a direct sequel. And boy is this a great sequel. You start the game off fighting through another Neo Arcadian army in the desert, despite you looking as if you're on the brink of death. Or retirement, as they call it in the Mega Man Zero series. After you successfully take the entire army down BY YOURSELF (like a boss) Zero falls to his knees and states, "I... I did it... but, it... it cost me everything..." and then promptly falls forward and onto the desert floor. A wind begins to blow, and it kicks up plenty of sand. Ouch. However, a very familiar face shows up (IT'S HARPUIA FROM ZERO 1 OH MY GAWD) riding on Aztec Falcon, who was supposed to be dead. Remember, you killed him twice in Zero 1... right? Well, Harpuia looks at the motionless body of Zero and wonders out loud, "Zero... to live or die? Hmmm..." The screen then fades out, and you're greeted with a cutscene featuring what appears to be the inauguration of a new commander of the Resistance. Ciel's apparently given up her position to a man-lady. His name is Elpizo, and he's giving a nice lil' speech describing how thankful he is to be leading the Resistance forces. The Resistance members cheer, and all of a sudden one soldier walks right on in and says that Zero was found outside the Resistance base. Wait, what?! Looks like Harpuia might not be such a bad guy after all. You wake up in a Maintenance machine and you're then greeted by Ciel and Cerveau. You're then given some space after being told to check out the new weapons Cerveau made for you, and you regain control of Zero. Well, that's all the spoilers for now! Want more spoilers? Look up a walkthrough, or watch a Let's Play of the game. I hear ClementJ642 did the whole Zero series. Well, the story is great. That's all I got.
Depth: The depth gets a 9 due to the huge improvement this game made over the first Zero game, and that's all. Oh, one thing I forgot to mention is that instead of being able to freely roam around the world to get to the different stages of the game, you are forced to talk to the Operator and tell her to transfer you back to the area you want to go to. I am personally NOT happy with this change, I loved grinding weapon levels by going through each of the areas in Mega Man Zero. That's one of the very few qualms that I have with this game. Trust me, this game is freaking godly despite a couple of unwanted changes. Every single aspect of this game was either a new addition, or was slightly changed from the first game. Most of the time stuff like this will ALWAYS happen with any sort of video game sequel, so I'm definitely not unhappy in the slightest. Change is good, especially when done the right way.
Difficulty: I really have to say, this game is significantly easier than the first Zero game. But right now I feel like making a Mega Man nerd reference. This game is still harder than Hard Man. Get it? If you played Mega Man 3 then you do get it. Despite there being so many new ways to play the game, the EX Skills and some of the forms only made the game that much easier than the first Zero game, not that I'm complaining. However, the EX Skills only made the combat aspects of this game easier. As a result, they had to step up the difficulty of the platforming segments of the game. A really good example of this is near the end of the game, when you're going through each of the Neo Arcadian Temples to defeat the 3 remaining Guardians. Yep, only 3. Remember, Phantom's dead. (insert cry here) Fefnir's temple is by far the most difficult one. That stage requires an insanely good reaction time, and perfect understanding and coordination with your skills at your disposal. You'll have to make very clever use of slashes, shots, and even Element Chips to make it through without dying. Also, one slip-up will likely be your last, and making a mistake is so easy in this level. It's even easier than Hard Man. I just love making nerd references in my reviews... One more thing about the difficulty. When you're fighting the 3 Guardians in their second forms, which you fight by going through the temples, make sure to bring some Subtanks...you'll definitely need to use them if you're not very skilled at the game. Just be ready and hope you've gathered enough Forms and EX Skills to help you along the way. Every little bit counts. Oh, also make sure you've got maxed out weapons. Okay, I'll stop acting like your mother now.
Overall, this is a fantastic game that did nothing but improve over the first game in almost every area and aspect of the game. It's getting a 9.5/10 as its overall rating.

Well, this concludes my review of Mega Man Zero 2. I hope you guys enjoyed it, because I really enjoyed writing it. I also enjoyed the crap out of the game, so get out there, get some skills, and play this magnificent game. It's a masterpiece waiting to be played, so do it a favor and play it. You'll be doing yourself a favor as well. Everybody enjoys doing favors for themselves. Also, I actually got a reply to my review of the first Mega Man Zero game, I forgot to thank the dude who complimented it. So thanks man, I really appreciate it. Anyway, that about wraps it up! I'll see you all tomorrow, when I kiss my status as a VizzedBoard Newbie goodbye. Tomorrow I'll be a normal guy on VizzedBoard. Yep, just a normal guy, an average Joe. I'll blend in with the crowd, I'll go incognito, I'll hide like Solid Snake. I'll also post more game reviews! My goal is to review the entire Mega Man Zero series by the end of April, so if I can meet that goal, it'd be pretty sweet. Thanks for reading this!

Mega man Zero 2 review   blohis
After several hours of slashing through hordes of enemies, grinding for E-crystals and fighting all those tough bosses I'm ready to give my opinion on this great game :)...
The first thing I would like to talk about is the graphics. The graphics may not be as vibrant as in the Mega man X series, but for a handheld they stand out as detailed, consistent and appealing to the eye.
As expected from a Mega man game the music is excellent! The soundtrack may not be as powerful as in Zero 3 or 4, but there are still some catchy tunes ;). The Japanese voice acting only adds to the appeal. Although this game is mostly text - based, the voices are still great.
Of course, everyone want's to know what the game play is like, right? The game play and the controls is where this game shines. It should come as no surprise that a Mega man game has solid controls and Zero 2 doesn't fail here either. The controls are are fluent, easy to understand even for beginners, and can be altered to mach the players taste. New features like the EX skills and forms will keep the game play  from getting stale and can allow players to change their play style on - the - go. This game really keeps you on your toes when it comes to difficulty, the first stage forces you to get used to the controls and the fact that you can't make too much mistakes before you're taken out...
Mega man games were never known as easy and Zero 2 is no exception, so it's going to take a little patience to master this game ;).
I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of side - scroller action games or to those who are fans of the Mega man series in general.
       Have fun playing!

Megaman Zero 2 Review (PLEASE CLOSE)   M4g1cW4rr10r
(NOTE: This is an accidental duplicate thread that somehow made two copies upon submission. To the Local Mods, please close this.)
