Mega Man 6 review tornadocam
Mega Man returns for a 6th adventure. Mega Man 6 was the last title for the regular Nintendo Entertainment System and one of the last games for that system. Overall: 8.2 Mega Man 6 is a good game. However it seems like it took a step back from its precursors such as Mega Man 3,4 and 5. The graphics at times seem to lag and be sluggish. The music is okay but not as good as the past thee Mega Man games. The plot is okay. However, it seems like this game was rushed and quickly put together in some spots. I think Mega Man 6 is a good game but just not as good as the past three Mega Man games. Still, I would recommend this game. Graphics: 8The graphics are decent. Blizzard Man's stage is nicely done especially with the moving submarine. The way the sunset changes in Tomahawk Man's stage is really good. Yamoato's man graphics are done well. The first fortress stage is nice with the stars and moon in the background. However it sometimes seems like the graphics lag in some parts of the game. In Plant Man's stage it seems like the game wants to slow down. Sometimes it feels like the controls are sluggish. Centaur Man's stage also gives that effect. It seems like some parts of the game the controls were rushed and that is why they are sluggish. In some stages it also looks like how the graphics were not finished. The graphics were okay but not on par with Mega Man 5's or even 3's. Sound: 7Well Mega Man 5 had rocking tunes so I was hoping 6 would too. Some of the tunes stand out. Knight Man's Yamato Man's, Tomahawk mans and the first Fortress stage really have good tunes. But some of the stage tunes seem to be lagging and they kind of had a tingle like they were quickly composed. Mega Man 5 had a cool buster sound that let the player know it was going to do some damage. The buster sound in Mega Man 6 has been toned down a lot. The Buster despite still being a big blast does not have the sound that gives the impression it is powerful. Also I expected a much better sound with the Rush power adapter it just seems fain for a powerful fist. Addictiveness: 7 Okay I have played this game several times. But it is usually after I have played 3, 4 and 5 first. So why it is a good game it does not have the replay value that its precursors had. I still have fun playing it though. I guess I like the other titles better. Story: 7 The story is not bad. From the start of the game the player learns that a guy by the name of Mister X is hosting a robot tournament. Suddenly Mister X takes control tells Mega Man that he has been supplying Dr. Wily and manipulating him and dares Mega Man to come and stop him for world power. Sounds like a good plot and do not get me wrong it did have some potential. However it is obvious from the get go that Mister X is really none other than Dr. Wily. Capcom even tells the player that from the start because most people notice how Mister X looks like Dr. Wily. Capcom should have made Mister X look different than Wily. I feel like Capcom giving away that it is Wily bumps the rating down. Also the past two Mega Man games (4 and 5) used a fake bad guy. So it seems like they were using the same material. So the Story was a good idea and had potential but they should have not gave Mister X's true identity away. Probably because the game was rushed. Depth:8Depth is were Mega Man 6 shines. The game does have a lot of depth. The player will have to defeat 4 true bosses to get the letters to use BEAT. Yes you read that right they are 4 robot master stage that has a fake boss in it. There is also a hidden item secret that can be obtained but it is well hidden. Because of the true bosses, the beat letters, and the secret item Mega Man 6 will require the player to revisit stages. It also will require time to get all items. So the Depth of Mega Man 6 is one of its strengths. Capcom did very well here on hiding the items Difficulty: 7 Mega Man 6 does have some tricky areas but it takes a while for the game to get tricky. For me the game did not get tricky until the fortress stages. The Robot masters at first may be tricky but once the player learns their AI pattern they can be taken down quickly. So getting through the robot masters was not as difficult as in Mega Man 2, 3, 4 and 5. I found the game did not get tricky to the end which really surprised me. Mega Man games are known to be difficult and I was expecting this one to be. However as I stated the game did not get tricky till the last few stages of the Fortress. The fortress levels are tricky and that is what keeps me from giving this a lower difficulty rating.

The blue bombers sixth quest! Boxia
This is the last Mega Man game ever released for the NES. It came out in March of 1994 in North America, almost 3 years after the SNES was released. When i first played it, i felt that this game just didn't live up to the sheer awesomeness of (at least MOST of) its predecessors. Let's see why i feel this way.
Story: 1/10
A mysterious billionaire by the name of "Mr.X" is sponsoring the first annual robot tournament. The worlds greatest robot designers flock to compete. Eight robots compete, their designers all hailing from different countries. During the competition, Mr.X announces that he has rewired the robots so that they are now loyal to him, and now have the task of aiding him in his plan for world domination. The blue bomber, however, decides he's not 'gonna let that fly, and sets out to defeat Mr.X and destroy his robots.
I give the story a 1 out of 10. This is the third consecutive time Capcom has attemted to pass off a story where another framed or fake villan temporarily fills in for Wilys role. It was acceptable for 4, predictable by 5, and completely unacceptable by 6. The novelty of such a story wears of after the first or second time it's used, and by the third time it's just flat out horrible.
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics have been improving with every Mega Man game since the first one, and this installment is certainly no exception. Enemies all look like quite a bit of extra work was put into their details, and things like floors, ceilings, spikes, platforms, e.t.c. all possess unique textures that are only used for single levels.
I give the graphics an 8 out of 10. Despite the praise i also have some laments regarding polish. Certain textures look detailed, but have a "rushed" quality to them. What i mean is that some textures look "foggy", sort of like condensation. However, i do have to admit that the graphics are one of the few things in this game i can almost completly enjoy.
Sound: 5/10
When i first heard the soundtrack, i was highly disapointed. The only song on the playlist i could totally enjoy was Flame mans theme, but even that one's inferior to other MM NES songs. Aside from that, many songs either failed to live up to the awesomeness of songs from preceding games, or were just bad. Like, "horrible screeching noise looped 80 million times" bad. As for the sound effects, they're all borrowed from earlier games, and are extrodinarily annoying considering that the enemies or hazards producing these sounds are often found in high concentrations throughout certain areas.
I give the sound a 5 out of 10. It definitely dosen't live up to the standards set by its predecessors, and i'd actually say it's average or slightly below average for a typical NES game.
Difficulty: 2/10
Mega Man games on the NES were never really difficult (with the possible exception of the first installment), and neither is this game. Even without all of the power-ups you can collect, you can breeze past many parts of the stages without much, if any, difficulty. Aside from some hazards randomly thrown in and enemies in annoying positions, the levels are cakewalks. As for the bosses, they all have easy-to-remember patterns that can be so easilly exploited it's stupid.
Addictiveness: 3/10
When i first played this game, i got bored about halfway through. The stages all seem to have somewhat similar overall designs. Some spikes here, some platforms there, some enemies over here, it's all subtle, but after a while it'll start to feel like you're playing the same stage again and again. Mabye that's just me but that's how the stages feel. One thing i can give the game credit for is the bosses. Despite having predictable patterns, they all are entertaining to fight and it feels so AWESOME when you dodge a projectile.
Depth: 6/10
Aside from the stages, there are four collectibles/weapons. One is the energy balancer, which can be found in Tomahawk mans stage and fills up the energy for the weapon that has the least energy whenever you pick up an energy pellet. More of a convenience than a power-up, really. Then there's Beat, a robot bird returning from MM5 that you can obtain when you collect the letters B,E,A, and T. from different stages. Beat has been heavilly nerfed, and is now almost completly useless. Then there are the Rush flight and power adapters. The flight adapter gives you the ability to fly for a few seconds, and the Power adapter allows you to break certain blocks when fully charged and also serves as a weapon. In true Mega Man fashion, there are a total of 16 stages in the game; eight robot master stages and eight fortress stages.
Overall: 5.510
Mega Man 6 for the NES is a game that could have been a lot better. If Capcom had put a bit more effort into things like the sound, the story (especially), and the stage design, we would have a game that would have met or possibly even exceed the standards set by previous games. As it is, The game dosen't have much going for it other than the graphics. This is only for the most hardcore Mega Man fans.

NES Mega Man 6 Review Emerald Warrior
Released in the March of 1994 this game had alot going for it though I read some reviews they did,nt like Mega Man 6 aka Rockman 6 Shij? Saidai no Tatakai!!, but I beg to differ with how everything was for this game .
Story: Takes place after Mega Man 5 a first annual robot tournament takes place revealing a mysterious villian Mr.X you,ll have to play to find out who he is,besides that he want to control, conquer the world so Megaman goes to stop Mr.X before he can finsh his evil plan along side him his faithful companion dog Rush. this storyline is wonderful like the first few Megaman games easy to understand.
Graphics: Colorful not to bright on the eyes so the enemies are not mixed in with the background you can see them very clearly, what I really liked was the stages that matched each one of the robot masters with what they were.
Depth: Each stage is the same length never to short or long it was just right, it does take practice to beat each stage with the jumps that have to be timed to make it to the end.
Addictiveness: For a 90,s NES video game like it,s others in the Megaman series in my opinion MM6 is replayable when you play it makes the person feel good there playing a great quality made job that was thought over when it was made.
Sound:Music that,s the one thing I can think of each theme for every final boss and stage music is very uplifting it makes you wanna play, my favorite is Blizzard Man they thought out greatly with making the music for MM6.
Difficulty: This is a high level of playing say to advanced to intermediate who could handle playing this game with enough practice to get better at it,some of the jumps in some of the stages is what makes this video game tough to beat.
