10Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu Review yaoyao9
Well well, now it is time to examine one of my childhood favorites! Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu was one of those games I owned originally for my good old Famicom, my 8-bit wonder that still works perfectly today. The action platformer is the game I played most often back in the day, and now, it is time to give my critique of this game.
Graphics: The game's graphics are good, and all the characters, enemies, and whatever, are all nicely depicted with large, colorful sprites. The bosses are well drawn, the backgrounds are varied, etc. The only legitimate complain I can usher is that Jackie's sprite looks a bit too dull. There is nothing that makes it uniquely "Jackie Chan", so that is a complaint, but not a big one.
Sound: The sounds in this game are good, not great. All sound effects are appropriate, so not much can be said. What really is wonderful though, is that the music is fantastic. I always hum at least one of these tunes constantly throughout my day, and that on its own shows its rivalry to even the best the NES has to offer. A definite plus.
Addictiveness: The game, being a platformer, is only addictive to the lover of this genre. Not much can be said.
Story: Like many early NES games, Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu has little story to speak of. Jackie must rescue some girl from another Kung-Fu master. This is revealed mainly in the manual. Not much to talk about here either.
Depth: Not a very deep game. JCAKF is simply a platformer. A gamer will breeze through this game in about 20 minutes. Not much is offered.
Difficulty: JCAKF is seriously one of the more difficult games in the NES library. Imagine Mega Man without a gun and using fists only. That is how difficult this game is. However, it is built fairly: no cheap enemy placements, easy stage hazards, etc. Well balanced, but still challenging.
Overall: JCAKF is one good NES game. It is unfortunate that it is not well known by most gamers. However, I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a challenge. There is not much to it, but it is one good experience. Enjoy.

8.8Jackie Chan has a SISTER??? Fattie54
We all know Jackie Chan. He kicks total butt. He was a great martial artist.... and an awesome video game character! I thought this would be some junkie side scroller with some crappy fighting moves. How wrong I was. I will begin with what the game offers. Of course in a game like this, you would have the traditional Jump kicks, Duck kicks, Punch and so on. Buuuuuuuut in a game like this, you can acquire 3 special moves. Only thing annoying me is that I can`t figure out how to do them!! Oh, one more move.... the Supersonic. It`s basically a Hadouken.... but BETTER!! Like, man! That move will kill any normal enemy in one single hit. Even the tigers! This game also has a lot of bonus games where you can regain your Supersonic move, health and an extra Head.... which I am assuming (or hoping) is an extra life. This game is packed with different enemies and stage types. And it`s DAMN good. This game will slap you in the face and force you to pay attention to every single thing happening on the screen. This game is very hard, and I can`t get past that damn running stage! Well, I am not the BEST gamer ever, but I am not going to brag. I think I am way above the line between Utter Failure and The Gawd O` Gaming. Yet the game knocked me down and gave me 5 extra continues. That is actually pretty generous on top of your big health bar. I haven`t played this game many times YET. So I am hoping to get better and tell that running stage to hail to the king, baby.
Speaking of playing this game many times, that is exactly what I am going to do! This game seems pretty addictive because of the fun game play, climatic moments and to see just what the heck is going to be next! The stage layouts are very unique and have cool secrets scattered all over the place. So yes, this is addictive.
So you are all probably thinking about why the hell I chose such a stupid title for this review. Well Jimmy, that`s because you gotta rescue her. I am giving a 4 for the story line, because it`s nothing special. It`s generic, but hey, who really gives a damnÉ Why can`t I make question marksÉ Holy crap stop it!!!
The music in this game is just divine! I`m mostly talking about the running stages, but they are all nice to listen to. Defiantly something I would put on an MP 3. The themes in this game are just pure adrenaline, motivating and inspiring you. I also bust out some phat dance moves to em. The graphics are impressing for the time. Jackie Chan looks pretty funny, like a cartoon. But this was Jackie merchandise being sold to kids. So that makes sense. The main thing I am focused on when it comes to graphics is what I can identify. The background is clear (Way better then The Terminator) and the enemies, too. The graphics don`t mess it up, but some enemies are just flat out UNIDENTIFIABLE. Thanks for reading, Karateka is next!!!!!! Just one more thing: Am I famous on Vizzed for my reviews nowÉ Holy mother of....

8.5Jackie Chan's Action Kung fu Cjjjj
I first saw this game on Screw Attacks video game vault. The I played it I thought it was a fantastic game. I could not believe that there where no reviews for it. I give the sound a 8, as far as 8 bit soundtracks go this is awesome, but its still not the greatest (in my opinion mega-man 2 has the best NES sound track). The game is not super addictive so I give it a 7 in this category. The story of this game is not really that great. Some wizard steals Jackie Chan's friend so he has to go get her back. So I give the story and depth a 6. Let me tell you, The game is most defiantly "Nintendo hard". It's not as hard a ninja gaiden but its still hard so I give it an 8 in difficulty. This game has really good platforming and tons of action. Its a very fun game that I love so I give it an 8.5 overall. I hope you all enjoyed this review.
