A Gran GmaeEverybody that lives racing games has to have a favorite game and series, including me, and mine would have to be none other than Gran Turismo. This is easily my favorite series and I have always been a huge fan. I have played each of the first 4 games in the series and when I heard that there was going to be a 5th game, I was so excited. I think that its one of the best racing franchises out there and that it's going to be a while before a better racing games comes out for another series.
First off, lets talk about the graphics and effects. It's amazing, each car looks like a real car and the tracks all look so real. I feel that this series has some of the best graphics because everything looks so realistic. The weather can even change depending on where you are and even that looks good, the rain, the clouds, whatever. Overall, graphics get a perfect score.
When it comes to the sound of the game, I feel that I would not be able to find any sports game that has better sound than this one. First, you have all of the standard racing sounds, you will hear the engine roar as you speed along the track, you will hear every tiny detail when you crash into another car, or anything for that matter.then you have the music which is one of the biggest soundtracks I have ever seen in a non Pokemon video game. The game consists of an original official soundtrack of more than 30 songs, and then there is also an additional 180 songs that are played throughout the game. That is more than 200 total music tracks and a ton of sound effects, overall the sound gets another perfect score.
Next we are going to go over the story, which there is none really. All you really do in this game is you get cars, you race them, and you win. There isn't really much more to the game than that because there is really no set story like there is in some other sports and racing game. Because of this, I am not going to factor in a score for the story.
As for the Addictiveness, there is so much to do that you would be playing this game for months before you get bored of it. There are so many cars that you can race with, well over a thousand to be exact and you would never get to feel the full effects of the game unless you have raced on as many tracks as you can, which there are more than 60 of. Even though there are so many tracks, you still might end up driving a dozen or so races on the exact same track because it is so much fun. For this aspect of the game, I am going to give it a 9 out of 10.
Next up is going to be the depth of the game, which is just about the same as the previous section once you understand how much there is to do in this game. I feel that this is one of the deepest sports games that you can play, and definitely the deepest racing game of them all. There are so many cars and tracks that it will take you forever to fully do everything that there is to do in this game and because of this, the depth portion of the game gets a perfect score.
Next is the difficulty. The controls of the game are easy to learn but the races are not. There are going to be a few tracks and cars that you are going to find to be challenging and you will probably become frustrated because of them, but there will also be plenty of cars that are easy to control and a bunch of tracks that you will get the hang of. For the difficulty, I give it a 7.
Overall, this is my favorite racing game of all time and you should definently try it. If you plan on getting Gran Turismo 6, I still think you should try this one as well because then you would have even more fun. My overall grade for this game is 9.3.
