Old, but fun AndVizzer
Godzilla Domination is very similar to the game Godzilla Destroy All Monster Melee. The arenas are nicely sized, but I would like it much bigger. Power-ups can come from destroying building. The entire point of this game is to dominate the other monsters and be proclaim as king. Never mind the king part.
Let's start off on the graphics. The graphics are decent for a Game Boy Advance game. The graphics aren't too well done, but can be enjoyable for some. The colors of the monsters are bright. I mean bright. I would wish they would pick a darker shade, but not too dark. They should shade in the monsters a bit more because it feels like the monsters has no texture. Buildings could be a tiny bit detailed, but it doesn't matter too much. The background should be a lot more detailed. Overall this receives a 7 from me.
The sound is awful. Right when you start the game you get this static sound. It should be music, but all I hear is static. The fighting sounds are almost overwhelmed by the fighting music. Fighting sounds aren't too good, but could be worse. The nice sounds of the buildings are pretty great. The trademarked roars of the monsters are spectacular for a Game Boy Advanced. In the end, my rating will be a 4.
How addicting is this? Is it like flappy bird? Nope not at all. It could be addicting, but it isn't. I got real bored after beating the story mode. The PvP mode is pretty nice and fun. Sometimes I will just get off the game, and just go play another GBA game. It kind a like an on off thing. This game receives a 5 from me from being an off and on type of game.
It says that their is a story mode, but there isn't. The story is just about a reporter talking about Godzilla fighting blah blah blah meteor blah blah blah. That was the whole story. To me it feels like there is no story so this receives a 0.
The game is pretty small. Story was pretty quick. There is only a story mode and PvP and that's it. All the monsters can do the same move kick, punch, guard, and jump. I wished that it was a lot more unique. Special attacks are performed in midair or by pressing the standard attack buttons for a few seconds. The annoying part of getting special attacks was to destroy buildings for energy, but there wasn't too much buildings. The arenas are nicely sized, but should be a tiny bit bigger. Maybe it's just me, but it should be a bit bigger. There really is no combos in this game. All you will do is button mashing the whole game. The game isn't too strategic. The number of characters of monsters are quite small. With only 6 monsters, you will get bored. Godzilla, Mecha Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan, and Megalon are the monsters you will play I really hoped that their would be more. The cities themselves aren't too unique. How much depth it has would be a 5.
Finally, the difficulty. The game should be a lot harder. The monsters are easy to kill. All you need to do is button mash. They would block or attack. They don't run away that much. The game should be a lot harder, but it isn't. There were times that it was hard like the final boss. The difficulty level is a 2 from me. It may be different from player to player, but it feels too easy for me.
In conclusion it doesn't matter how much monsters it has. The fact that it's on a GBA with decent quality and sound is good enough. This game captures the fighting spirit of the monsters. There is a lot better Godzilla games out there, but this game feels right. I give this game 7.8/10.
