Pokemon: Gates to Infinity review   IgorBird122

Here is a review by The IB, The game is on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates to Infinity. This game was released for the Nintendo 3DS on March 24th, 2013 (in the United States) and is the final game in Pokemon’s 5th Generation and this is also the 6th game (4th game in a series) in the Mystery Dungeon series, so, what better way to end the 5th Generation than having the Mystery Dungeon gaome for the 3DS, which is called Gates to Infinity.

In the Mystery Dungeon series, you are a Pokemon that is traveling in a world that is created by Pokemon for Pokemon to live in, and you go on an amazing adventure with your Pokemon friends, battle against opponents, and build yourself a wonderful paradise. I think this is one of the top side-games in the whole Pokemon series to my personal opinion because with you being a Pokemon, you can’t really blame me on this. Alright, onto the review.

------------

Graphics..

The Graphics of Gate to Infinity are quite amazing, and with the 3D graphics I got to say, Nintendo really put a whole lot into their graphics, and having all the Generation V (and prior) Pokemon with all the 3D graphics really makes them stand out with the world, and the settings in the mystery Dungeon world are quite fantastic because all the buildings all have that great look to them that we all later see when the Gen VI games released later that year. Nintendo had made every detail in the whole make to make the whole world seem so fun and peaceful to play around in and explore all the interesting content these graphics have to offer, the trees, the caves, the buildings, the lakes / rivers, and the everything just looks so fantastic.

For the graphics, I do have to give this section a perfect 10 out of 10. The Graphics are quite amusing. It has a lot of detail, that is all I can say, when you play this, you know on why I have gave this game a 10 for.

----------

Sound/Music..

For the sound effects, it does bring all the sounds we know from The 5th Generation games (Black / White / Black 2 / White 2) and bring them into the brand new 3D world with it more High Def sounds, which makes those sound effects a lot more clearer. I think this was the start with introducing the new sounds to the 3DS which they make a lot more changed when the Gen VI games are released, so they really used this game like to test their new High Def sounds and personally, they all sound outstanding. I just love hearing the sounds the Pokemon makes like the cries and their action they make and that is what part of me got interested in the series in the first place, hearing all the interesting cries they all make.

With the music, don’t get me started with the music, I think the music is just at a level, it is just amazing. I think the overworld music in the game really fits right in with the game which to my point of view, I really love, it is quite musical if you know what I mean, and the battle music you have against your opponents in the game, it give it that vibe that you want to battle him / her at a point you want to try your best to defeat him / her, and there is a whole lot of other interesting music in the game as well that is also amazing. I think all I can say is if you play this game and just listen to the music to the game; I think it will be stuck in your mind for a good, long time.

As for the Sound effects and the Music, I will give this a perfect 10 out of 10, I think Nintendo did a whole lot with the interesting music and the interesting sound effects in the game, I just think you will find it amusing when you play it, especially the music part, I want you to listen to on how amazing it sounds in this game.

----------

Addiction Level..

Just Although I haven’t really played this game when it was released because of ma absents from the series (which I did come back in 2014, but once I did, I have hear this game and I figure out that I can give this game a try, so that’s why I got the game (by downloading it from eShop) and when I started playing it, I did find myself being a little addict to this game and I have played this game for a little while once I started, and even to this day, I still play the game here and there (a lot new games I bought have overshadowed the addiction to this game which isn’t anything new though. But as long this game is your newest game you bought (no matter if you bought it new or used), you will be playing this game for quite a while though at a point that you just don’t want to give up on this game. Sure, it might seem a little hard (I’ll explain down in the Difficulty / Gameplay), but on a personal note, it is a whole lot addicting.

For the Addiction Level, I will give this game an 8 out of 10, it is quite addicting, but not too addicting, that’s mostly all I can say regarding this though. It is one of those games you won’t give up playing

----------

The Storyline..

The way that the storyline portrays that you the player was asleep and you did have a vision that Munna was in trouble when it was being chased by Hydreigon, and after that happened, you realized something was going on, and for some reason you have discovered that you have turned into a Pokemon (who doesn’t want that fantasy of one day, to wake up as a Pokemon), and one you realize on what is going on with yourself, you realize that you have to save the whole Pokemon world from chaos and trouble that is going on. You start out in a place called Ragged Mountain, and you have to go on your quest which can change as you progress, like first, you wanted to ask Gurdurr to have him build a home for you, but it turns how, he does have other plans, and you have to end up fighting him, but once you get that taken care of, then you go through the rest of your quest seeing a lot of Pokemon that will help you on your way to the end.

So, I think the storyline is pretty decent if you say so myself. For the Storyline, I do have to give it a perfect 10 out of 10, I think when you watch the storyline unfold in this game, you’ll see on why this game got a score of 10. The story is quite interesting and this is what I like about a story in a video game, if it has an interesting storyline

----------

Depth..

For the Depth of this game, Gates to Infinity does have interesting storyline which goes right into the depth of the game. Like when you start off, you want to go on your adventure to build your true paradise, so it’s a really entertaining thing to do. Also, this game has “Infinity” because you in fact have infinity about of fun and entertainment in this game, and it also will seem that your adventure will never really end, even if you think you complete the game, just so much to do in this game. Plus all the things you can do in your paradise world, like build as much as you can; the amount you can create is limitless. It’s not just building your place, but when you venture out, you can also battle a few Pokemon out there, like in the classic main games, and some are easy and some can be a little difficult to defeat, even for some of the Legendary in the game can be a little tough to defeat, but that’s why they are legendries. But other than all of that I said, I think the game has a whole lot to offer when it comes to on how much is exactly on the game.

With that all said, I will give the Depth part of the game a 9 out of 10. It’s got a whole lot in the game, and you also got a whole lot of interesting things to do in the game. It’s really depends on what you’re doing which makes this game really fun and exciting.

----------

Difficulty / Gameplay..

For the difficulty of the game, when I first started the series, the game was a little hard at first, and it has taken me quite a lot of times to even clear a few things, but hey, that’s what happens with games when you first start, it takes a while to manage on what you are doing, and if you keep working on all the goals you need to get done with your current adventure, then you’ll learn a whole lot with this game. So, if you get suck on a level, don’t get frustrated on that level because you can beat it, I know, I had some of these feeling myself. I’m not really going to give this game a hard score because after all, this is the first game in the Mystery Dungeon series, so I’ll give it a more reasonable score, which I will mention in a little bit.

As for the Gameplay itself isn’t so bad, this is the first handheld game where you can go in 8 directions (which is a benchmark for the later Pokemon X / Y which was released later on that year. The controls all runs a little smoothly, although they’re a few flaws with the controls where it is a little hard to control yourself, but they were mostly testing the 3D animation and movement and all of that, so it is quite understandable. So, all and all, I really got no problem with the Gameplay in this game at all.

With that said with this, for the Difficulty and the Gameplay, I will give this game a 7 out of 10, the Difficulty is alright and the Gameplay/controls are alright with a couple flaws, but other than those things, this is quite an amazing game

----------

Overall..

Overall, I got to say Gates to Infinity is one of the best non-main Pokemon games I have tried out there, and this being the last final Generation V game in the whole series, this would be your game to play if you want to play the latest Gen V game, it’s got amazing graphics, it’s got amazing sound and music, those two are the ones that made this game really interesting, and the Addiction Level and Depth of the game which are the two that wants you to keep playing more on this game with so much to do in these games and I love the way the storyline portraits in this game, like who doesn’t want to one day, wake up as a Pokemon in real life, you know I’m one of them. It’s also not that tough at all if you’re used to the Mystery Dungeons games. So, this really my thoughts on the game right here and I personally think you should try this game if you haven’t have already, it is one fun, interesting, and entertaining game to try out for yourselves.

So, for my final score, I’m going to give this game a 9.2 out of 10, it is one amazing side game in the Pokemon series that has a whole lot inside with a lot of interesting quests to travel on. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I did.

Another Amazing Game In The Series   cmp81
Another Amazing Game!
Just another amazing addition to this series! Almost every aspect of this game was done perfectly, except for a few flaws which aren't major.
Graphics: 10
Kind of like Pokémon X, Nintendo greatly improved their graphics. Graphics may not be too important to these sort of games, but the crisp, bright graphics are refreshing to me. Now all of the Pokémon are great 3d models that look amazing, especially on the 3ds. Nintendo really has showed us what they can do with a new gaming system. The graphics amazed me, I couldn't believe I was playing my favorite game series in these new graphics with no lag. I think that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates To Infinity really deserves to be given a 10 in this category.
Sound: 10
Just like any other Pokémon game created by Nintendo, the music in this game gets stuck in my head for days and I love the catchy tunes that this game offers. I always look forward to the soundtrack in Pokémon especially.I also love the cute sound effects that this game offers. Such as the V-Wheel song, which I can hear in my head right now. The soundtrack in this game is upbeat and fun as usual!
Addictiveness: 8
I played this game for weeks after the release! The reason I rated this an eight is because before I beat the game, I stopped playing for a few months. Once I picked up the game again I got addicted to it all over again! I love all of the games in this series and can't wait for the next one! The only other thing I have to say about this is that I stopped playing the game about 2 months ago, and I haven't picked it up since.
Story: 10
I have to say, I am a sucker for the story of the Mystery Dungeon series. I absolutely love the idea of one day waking up as a Pokémon, and then going on an adventure. Even though all of the Mystery Dungeon games have a similar story; you wake up as  a Pokémon, and then you go an adventure to save the Pokémon world. In this one I love how you get to build up your own paradise! It's a fun way to pass time in this game. There are so many choices and things to do with your Paradise, it's a great addition to the series. Despite the similar story, I love all of them.. The last thing I want to talk about is the ending of the game. In every end of the game, the main character (yourself) has to leave the Pokémon world and return to the human world. I have to say, when I watched the ending of this game (when your character has to leave), I tear up just a bit. Even though I am not a little kid and I realize you get your main character back after you complete a mission, it still makes me sad. All in all though, an amazing story!!
Depth: 9
This addition of the series has a pretty long storyline and it offers many quests and different things to do after you beat the main game. Of course, the game is technically "infinite" because of the never-ending quests. Other than that, building up your Paradise is a new and extremely fun thing to do! If you have not spent a lot of time building up your paradise, I recommend you do so immediately! You can build dojos, build fun attraction's, shops, and even your own berry farms! Other than that, I love how you can find circular objects around your house and go on an all new adventure! The reason I gave this a nine is because unlike the explorer of time, there is not too much after game, at least not much I have found. There are not as many after-game boss fights. Except for those crazy battles against giant legendary Pokémon, which I find impossible to beat anyways. Other than that though, this game has a lot to offer!
Difficulty: 4
Difficulty in Pokémon games is not something I tend to take into my rating in this game, so I'll keep this nice and short. I found this game pretty easy overall, but I definitely had my moments where I would get stuck in a dungeon and be unable to beat it for a little while. That never lasted though, and this was a pretty easy game overall.
That's my review! I hope you enjoyed it!
