New Super Mario Bros. Wii   tgags123
Hello Vizzed members! tgags123 here with another review! Today I will be reviewing New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Without further ado, let's get to the review!
Overall:
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a fun game that I really enjoy playing. There are a lot of things that I like about it. From the graphics to the gameplay, this game really has a lot of bright spots.
Gameplay:
In this game, you control Mario and travel through the Mushroom Kingdom trying to catch Bowser and save Princess Peach. You face a variety of new bosses. There are a bunch of power-ups in this game, including some new ones. The power-ups are the Super Mushroom which makes you bigger, the Mini Mushroom which makes you tiny, the 1-Up Mushroom which gives you an extra life, the Fire Flower which lets you shoot fireballs, the Ice Flower which lets you shoot ice and freeze enemies,  the Propeller Mushroom which lets you fly in bursts, my favorite the Penguin Suit which lets you shoot ice as well as slide on ice, the Yoshi Egg which lets you ride Yoshi and swallow everything, and the Super Star makes you invincible for a short period of time. You will need these power-ups to help you deal with enemies in the level such as Goombas, Koopas, and Hammer Bros.
Graphics:
The graphics in this game are very good. It is still a side-scrolling platformer, but the characters and items and such are in 3D. The graphics are not too in-depth so it has a similar feel to the original, but are a more detailed, less pixely, and are rounded rather than pointy.
Sound:
I love the music in this game, and in all Mario games actually. The game has very similar music and sound effects as the original, but just better somehow. They flow better. The sound effects are so distinct that when you hear them, you know it's Mario.
Addictiveness:
Will I play this game again? Wii. See what I did there? Wii? Like Oui? Which is French for yes? Ah, nevermind. Yes, I would play this game again. It is so much fun and there is a lot to explore. I often find addictiveness with this formula: fun + depth / 2 = addictiveness. It makes sense to me because the things that make you want to play a game again is how fun it is and how much there is that you haven't done yet. In this case, fun is 9, the depth is 9, therefore the addictiveness is also 9. Trust me, you can't play this game just once.
Story:
So Princess Peach managed to get herself kidnapped. Again. Sometimes I think she gets kidnapped on purpose if you know what I mean (http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0ojm6qVWI1r481xno1_500.jpg). Anyway, you have to travel through the Mushroom Kingdom to save her from the evil Bowser, same as the original story.
Depth:
There is a lot of stuff to do in this game. There are nine worlds, with a total of 80 levels. There are also mini games that you can play. These mini games are actually what are in the Mushroom Houses. You play a game and if you win you get a power-up.
Difficulty:
This game isn't too hard. There are a few difficult levels, but overall it is on the easy side. The controls are very simple and easy to learn. The game itself has some challenges, but they are definitely beatable. It might take a few tries though.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a game that I strongly recommend playing. If you see it at GameStop, definitely pick it up. It is a lot of fun, and Nintendo did a good job on it. It has some challenges, but isn't too frustrating. So that's my review! I hope you enjoyed reading it and it helped you out. I know I had fun writing it. Any feedback, whether it's positive or negative, is greatly appreciated.

Awesome Remake!   acool193
Here is my review of New Super Mario Bros Wii for Nintendo Wii!
For a while, I am doing Newer games instead of older games.
Also this game is a remake of New Super Mario Bros!
Story: 10 The story is that it is Princess Peach's Birthday! Seems like nothing could go wrong right? Well instead Peach get a HUGE cake but the Koopalings and Bowser.Jr are hiding inside the cake and Princess Peach gets stolen yet again. Sigh.
But this time Mario, Luigi and a Yellow Toad and a Blue Toad are going to save Princess Peach!
Also the toads put the gifts which are Propeller Mushrooms and a Penguin Suit which both have never been seen in any other Mario game.
so Mario and his friends go through the 8 worlds and they also fight the koopalings twice, once normally, second powered up by Kamak.
But in the end, this game has a BIG plot twist in it. When Mario saves Princess Peach, she asks Mario, Did I tell you about the secret world?
Yes, this game has a World 9 and the levels in it do not unlock until you get all the star coins.
Graphics: 9 The world is away improved in quality but every wii game is like that so there is not much to talk about here.
Sound: 10 I believe that this soundtrack is the best in the New Super Mario Bros series so far, and the beats of world 1-1 are the same as the original.
Difficulty: 1 This game has the same controls as the original but with added features and the game isn't that hard whatsoever.
Depth: 10 The game is your standard Mario game but it is very. Very long.
Addictiveness: 10 This is not the kind of game you only play once, it is the best Mario game as of now.
Overall Score: 8.3

New Super Mario Bros Wii Review   speedy gonzalez
I found new super mario bros wii a very fun game to play as it allows you to play 4 player co op through the story mode and that can help you a lot because this game is easier and harder than super mario bros ds at the same time. the new suits or power ups are brand new unlike the tanooki suit in new super mario bros 2 because the tanooki suit was originaly made in mario bros 3. the new suits and power ups are the propeller suit which allows you the propel up wards, a ice flower which allows you to frees foes and throw them to diferent foes to kill them, a penguin suit which allows freeze foes like the ice flower but you can also slide really fast which can help you get through small spaces and you can also slide on water. in this game you can ride on yoshi in some levels. yoshi can swallow lots of things and spit some back out to defeat other enemies. unfortunaly you can not eat enemies then lay eggs and throw them at the ememies. you will notice in the levels with yoshi there are bushes with 1 fruit in them if you eat 5 you yoshi will lay a surprise and the surprise is always at random and they are power ups or 1 up mushrooms. in this game once you have completed world 8 and defeated bowser once and for all a toad (the mushroom heads) will get stuck in some levels and it is your job to rescue them. if you do rescue them without letting them get hurt then they will give you 3 1 up mushrooms but if you let them get hurt you only get 1. in every world there are enemies that you have to encounter when you are not even in a level yet, you may find them annoying but those enemies have captured a toad and when you rescue him he will give you 3 power up mushrooms. for every world it is a different enemy so it will get harder. for world 1 it is a goomba for world 2 it is a thurtle with the armored shell for world 3 it is an ice hammer bros (they throw ice) for world 4 it is a big spike fish for world 5 it is a pirana plant for world 6 it is a bullet bill for world 7 it is a lakitu (the thing that sits on a cloud throwing spike balls at you) and world 8 is a fire ball (yes it is a fire ball the only way you can kill them is by using a ice flower or invinsible). there are the koopa kids in this game and they will be the end boss for all of the worlds (exept world 8). the koopa kids all have magic staffs that shoot projectiles at you. also in some worlds bowser jr. will show up in his air ship. world 3 4 and 5 have all been changed from mario bros ds so world 3 is the ice land world 4 is the island and world 5 is the forest or jungle. there are some features to super mario bros wii that really make you change your mind iff you think that this game is rubbish. you dont need to have a propeller suit because you can pick up a block with a propeller on top of it and use that or pick up one of your friends that have it and use them. it is always best to play in co op because when you die you will just come back to life if you have any lives left and then the people alive will have to pop you out of a bubble then you can play again. if you press A on the wii romote it will make yourself stuck in a buble and float away this is helpful because you could be falling to death so you press A and wait for your friend to pop you and there you go you have just saved a life. when you jump on a special platform you can control is by twisting your controler up or down like this (      ). in this game you can do coin battle. coin battle can be battling to get the most coins or just playing co op through the levels to maybe get more lives. there are some new enemies in this game. the new enemies are really small goobas that can slow you down and they usually travel with 4 more goobas and a magikoopa which isnt really new but you havnt been able to battle it in any super mario bros games. at the very bottom of this review i will put tips to help you play this game.
Graphics: the graphics in this game are the best graphics in mario games so far and they are really good. you should never doubt the graphics of mario games.
Sound: the sound in this game is very good, maybe the best sound in mario games yet because they made some new cries for the 4 characters and for the yoshis.
Adictiveness: i found this game very addictive, so addictive that when i started playing it i never stoped until i had finished the game completely. sadly i lost the game disk.
Story: the story is actually a bit different than super mario bros DS because bowser doesnt steal the princess the koopa kids do to impress bowser. also the first cut scene (the are only 2 cut scenes at the start and at the end) it is pricesses peach's birthday but the koopa kids come out of the cake and kidnapp her.
Depht: this game is probably the longest mario game yet beause there are actually 9 worlds. the ninth world appeares when you finish world 8 but when you get to world nine there arent any levels unlocked yet. to unlock them you have to get all of the star coins for 1 world to unlock one level and the levels are a bit harder than all the ather levels you have done.
Difficulty: this game is very hard once you get far in to it but in this game the harder it is the funner it is and this is very true when i played this with my sister we kept dieing but it was so fun dieing somehow and sometimes we killed eachother by throwng koopa shell at eachother and stuff like that so dont let the difficulty ruin this game for you
Overall: overall i think this is the best mario game on the wii so far because it is so fun and not one of those really short games that you will only play once and never play again. i love this game so much it is probably one of the best games that i have ever played in my life so if your wandering if you should get this or not the answer should be yes.
Tips:
1. shake the controler to do a spin (like in mario galaxy) and you will be able to jump futher.
2. take your time unless you are only on world 1
3. try to help each other when playing in co op
4. in co op at the end run and pick up your friend and throw them on top of the flap pole to get a 1 up
5. use the mushroom houses so you can have more power ups and 1 ups

A great Mario game.   williamb970
New Super Mario Brothers. Wii!
~ Graphics ~
[ 7 ]
I'm very fond of the lovely graphics, but it's the animation that troubles me in this section.
I think the animation is a little bit too slow, and boring.
The reason it isn't a 6 is because the little dancing Koopas.
You have to agree, they are awesome.
~ Sound ~
[ 7 ]
A seven again.
The reason is because the music isn't remixes or anything, it's just straight from the DS (or new).
I'm not trying to insult the music composers, but couldn't they make something a bit more... well, addictive to listen to?
I hate the first levels main theme.
And sound effects.
That thing is a beauty. 5/5 on sound effects.
~ Addictiveness ~
[ 9 ]
Could you not get hooked to all the exploring and challenges the game makes for you?
You can even play with your friends and family!
You can clear a level together, or you can battle it out and throw each other into lava or pits.
Playing that game is almost as good as going on Vizzed.
Even though I've completed it 100%, and 99 lifes, I still play it today.
~ Story ~
[ 1 ]
BLEUGH.
Once again, the princess has been captured by the evil king Bowser.
I can make that way better, and make older Mario fans go
"YAAAAAY!"
~ Story ~
Once again, the princess peach and her sister, Daisy have been captured by the evil king wart.
He is back with weapons far greater then Bowser's and has Birdo and Mouser and more to help him vanquish Mario and co.
There! That's better.
~ Depth ~
[ OVER 9000! ]
Sorry, but it seriously is.
It's bigger then Sonic 4 - 1 and Sonic 4 - 2 combined!
AH gosh darnIT! I just typed the whole review, but my laptop didn't like it so it made my restart from here...
Anyway,
Even episode metal can't beat this game either.
You can play with friends or family, playing together or battling out on the levels.
It's fun to play on the world 8's hidden roller coaster, since you can try to stay on or just throw each other off!
There are small mini - games to receive power ups and extra lifes, too!
There are 3 star coins hidden in every level in each world...
Beat the game to unlock the mystery world, and collect every single star coin, and there will be a few extra levels in store for you.
Anyway, like I was going on about, you can even get 99 lifes too see Mario lose his hat!
(Don't worry, power-ups still work fine!)
There are even more things that I have yet to say.
Stuck on a level? Died way too many times?
You may find a green "!" Block above you.
Luigi will show you how to complete the level, nice and slowly.
You can even watch him end the level!
Afterwards, you can enjoy the next level.
But the level you got help on still remains uncompleted, and you
can't get another guide in that world until you complete the level yourself.
If you get the trick, or just want to have a little test as Luigi, then press "-" (I think) in the middle of the guide, and it will ask you if you want to stop.
Kerblam! You are Luigi.
This only lasts for this level, so enjoy it while you can!
Oh boy, Nintendo should have added net play to NSMB.WII.
That would make it legen...DARY.
~ Difficulty ~
[ 5 ]
Many people say they use more then one continues on the first world. Feh.
I can beat the first world without losing a single life.
<^^^^^^^^>
<TAKE THAT>
<vvvvvvvvv>
Hmm, that was the best "TAKE THAT" Bubble I've ever done.
Anyway, back to the review.
If it was the first world only we were playing, then I would have gave the difficulty a 1.
I'm serious here.
Anyway, this concludes My biggest review, with an overall rating of...

New Super Mario Bros Wii, a remade version of the DS version.   Stevie 764
New Super Mario Bros Wii, the remake of the original version from the DS. :)
Let's start the review.
Graphics - 10
The graphics compared to the DS version gives me this comparison:
Wii version: It improved a little or a lot, but they look more colorful and has neat designs on the walls and floors, they are great for the Wii.
DS version: Meh, it looks good, but for the DS, it looked like if there was a remake of the DS (Which is this game that I am reviewing), the graphics could possibly stand out more, some graphics are a little hard to see, but hey, atleast nintendo created Mario, not SEGA, or LJN, maybe HAL laboratory could nearly get it because HAL laboratory created Kirby. If it was possible, HAL laboratory could figure out how to create a Mario game nearly as good as nintendo.
The wii has better graphics, I give it a perfect 10. ;)
Sounds - 10
Here is the comparison with the DS:
Wii version: There are a lot more sounds and Mario voices, since the wii remake is a upgraded version of the DS, it has some good differences in sounds.
DS version: Not many sounds and Mario voices as the Wii version, but one Mario voice is strange, the line that Mario says in the DS whenever you beat a regular level is a little indistinct, I could never ever figure what in the crabs he was saying.
I give the sounds a 10 for wii.
Addictiveness - 7
If you were to see a remake of a original classic, you would give up the original version and stick your eyes to the remake, because if you have a remake, it MUST be more addicting than the DS, because if it isn't, you aren't gonna like the remake.
I give the addicting rating a 7.
Depth - 10
Wow, this is a pretty long game without trying to use and discover the cannons that act like a warp zone, but the game has probably 60+ or less levels, and you can find yourself playing for a few months, and then, you beat it. I give the depth a 10.
Story - 6
The story is basicly about princess peach's birthday, and she gets a big cake, a HUGE cake! But what is in the cake, you ask? 7 koopalings, all from Super Mario Bros 3, they kidnap the princess, and they take off in a airship and the Mario bros, and the 2 toads that join in the adventure to help stop the koopalings from doing anything more dangerous than kidnapping a princess. I give the story a 6.
Difficulty - 6
If you haven't played Mario before, you will find yourself having problems, a lot of problems in this game, because this game has:
- Many pits
- Hard to figure out patterns
- Spikes (Refer to sonic the hedgehog game.)
- Mamy new enemies that possibly have random patterns or just 1 pattern.
- Many more...
The difficulty deserves to get a 6.
Overall - 9.6
This game is great, you could tell by the cover, that yoshi comes back, all the way from super Mario galaxy 1, as a rideable character, and that this was the first Mario game to have 4 player modes, like battle, and co-op.  If this is your first game, get ready to experience the remake of the DS.
Don't forget to check out my other reviews and RGR reviews! :)

New Super Mario Bros Wii Review   Marcmoney
Overall - 9.5
New Super Mario Bros Wii on the original Wii was one of the most classic Mario games ever made. Everyone would play it all the time. I remember getting this when it was released and I was so into the game. I could not stop playing it. It was like the future of classic Mario games. But this game nowadays is just old news. I guarantee you that this game is worth getting.
Graphics - 8
The graphics were amazing when it came out, but now it is just plain crap compared to the New Super Mario Bros U. This had no HD graphics at all, but it is understandable since it was the first game series that came out. The effects are obviously classic and very exciting.
Sound - 7
The music really brings the mood in every level. I love that about the sounding for the game. The sound effects are amazing. Loving the sound of jumping on enemies and getting the star is a good feeling.
Addictiveness - 7
The game can be quite addicting, especially if it is your first time playing it. I was on it 24/7 until I beat the game. It makes the game more fun if you played it with other people. That makes the game more fun and more challenging.
Story - 5
The story is the usual. Princess Peach is captured by Bowser again and you need to save her. That is basically it lol.
Depth - 8
The game has quite a good amount to offer. For instance, as I said, you can play with up to 4 players in the game and that makes the game more fun. Also, there is some mini games that you can play such as getting the most coins or getting the best high score. Another thing is that when you beat the game, you can go back to getting all the gold coins, and if you get all the gold coins in a world, you get to unlock a secret level in World 9 and it is challenging, which is better if you like challenges.
Difficulty - 4
This game to me is not even that hard. I can fly through the level if I wanted to. I think that they made this game a little too easy for us. Now in New Super Mario Bros U, it does have some very hard levels, which I enjoyed playing, but as for this game, the secret levels are suppose to be hard, but they are not to me. Everything plays fair and very easy.
Wrap Things Up...
New Super Mario Bros Wii is a fun classic Mario game to play. I would recommend getting this game if you have not already. Especially to all you Mario fans out there. :)

Wow...Just...Wow   sdslayer100
I have a Wii and I play this game a lot. It is possibly the hardest Super Mario game I have ever played. I have seen tutorials and guides for this game everywhere. This game is hard and that is what makes me want to play it again. It includes features request on other Mario games like World 9. In Normal Super Mario, people requested and made videos on YouTube about World 9-1. This hard game is always the best. It has more levels and goes beyond Super Mario 1. Super Mario 1 only has four levels per world (examples: 1-1 to 1-4 2-1 to 2-4 3-1 to 3-4 etc.). This goes to worlds like 3-5 and 8-6. I like the fact that it has more levels. I just have one last request and its to see if someone could try to make the game be able to be played online. I also like the graphics. They have backgrounds. Depending on the world, depends on what background it is (World 8 has a lava background). I also hope that there may be a new game coming after this one like a game called New Super Mario Bros. Wii 2. I also like the fact you can play with up to 4 players! Usually, other games only have up to 2. The only bad part is that your other players can pick you up and throw you into lava or holes. It also has a Quick Save spot for leaving in the middle of a world. If they didn't have 'Quick Save', I would still be on like World 5. I also like the fact that the game has a Coin Rush mode. In 'Coin Rush', you (and a partner if you are player 2 players) go through a course of your choice. It includes courses from the game and random courses. When you choose courses it only lets you select from courses in the game that you've already encountered (been on or beaten). When playing, you must go through the level and collect as many coins as you can (Star Coins in the level are worth more than normal coins). When you beat the level, a counter will count your coins. If you play 2+ Players, when you finish a counter will count all players' coins and put a crown on which player has more coins than the others. Another good thing is the Save Slots. Without the Save Files, I would have way less than I do now. In the game, there are 3 Save Spots. You can select one of your choice and play from that file's last save point. Here is a guide for the symbols in the game on menu. A red M balloon on a save slot: Shows a quick save. 1-5 Stars on a save slot: Tells if you've met requirements. Yet again I will say that for a request I hope that soon this game will be available online. :)

Alright what is up cutiepies, I’m back again once again with a NEW, SUPER exciting review, so buckle up BROS. WII’re in for a fun ride!
Okay enough with this try hard pun stuff lmao I cba.
Once upon a time a company called Nintendo released a platformer game called Mario Bros. for the good old NES. After it reached massive successes they proceeded to release a whole army of sequels on every console they could find and create, which brings us to this game we’re looking at today. NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii was, as the name suggest, the newest addition to the Mario franchise when it was released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2009.
The game was a massive hit due to both the introduction of two awesome new power ups in the Propellor Suit and the Penguin Suit, as well as the option to play through every level in every world with up to 4 different players. That’s right, this game while seemingly friendly, allows for mass destruction as you fight your friends for dominance over Star Coins, power ups and more.
The mechanics have also been tweaked a bit to fit the Wii’s capabilities to detect motion coming from the Wiimote. In various levels you’ll have to shake your controller and tilt your controller to further enhance the experience. They even brought back the infamous picking up things from the more infamous Mario Bros. 2, a game that completely disregarded the original concept and wasn’t all that popular. However this time, they made it magical and fun. Due to various power ups being able to freeze enemies, you can pick them up and throw them while in their frozen state, as well as various helpful blocks like a light source or a Propellor block. But most importantly, you can pick up other players and throw them, easily being one of your most powerful tools when it comes to killing your friends to get ahead. Yes, I told you this game loves mass destruction. Lastly I want to touch upon the fact that Yoshi makes a triumphant return in this game, and he is still as gullible to the fact that you have the power to kill him as ever. Lovely.
But that’s it for the technical side of things. Clearly the most fun part of this review so brace yourself for the mainstream 6 category review that’s about to fall upon you.
Graphics - 10/10
Well I’ll say right now that I’ll put level design under graphics as well, in case you were wondering why this score was so high. I have a ton of fond memories playing through this game and enjoying practically all levels in it due to the complete variety in design, even within the same world. I’m currently replaying the game with some good friends (online, might I add :D) and time after time I just smile ear to ear as I remember the adventures I had in the past when recognizing what level we were playing. This game as well as the Nintendo DS one have my favorite level designs of all Mario Bros. games. Oh, and the general graphics are great too. The worlds look alive and fun, the graphics for Mario and his friends, as well as the different enemies and blocks all look great. Easy 10.
Music - 10/10
Mario music will always be lit. They’re some of the most recognizable tracks in gaming and right now as I’m typing this I can hum along to so many from this game that I just have to give this a 10. I enjoy listening to them when playing and the fact that they can stick in my mind means they’re perfectly made for the game they’re in. Another easy 10.
Story - 1/10
I mean come on, let’s be real. Princess Peach turns 83 and she gets kidnapped. Whoop dee doo, yada yada, we go save her from Bowser and his kids. And Kamek the Magikoopa. Not much else to there really, though occasionally you’ll find a Toad who was dropped in a level somewhere by Bowser’s minions, which is pretty funny. I sometimes choose to ignore or kill them for bants.
Depth - 9/10
Usually in Mario games I always feel like the game was short and I’d prefer more levels, but not with this one. Maybe it’s the fact that because every single level in every single world feels so different that I get the impression there’s more of them than there really are. I mean there exist a total of 8 main worlds with roughly 6 or so levels each alongside a mini tower and the world castle, with the occasional airship thrown in. Then there’s a secret 9th world with like 8 levels I think, so there’s plenty to do and see. Great level design, again. Can’t say that enough.
Addictiveness - 10/10
I find this Mario Bros. game to be among the most replay able ones, mainly due to the fact that multiplayer exists and is so much fun. Sometimes it’s less about actually playing the game and more about goofing off with friends, doing MLG parkour or attempting to murder each other for fun. 100% completion is also fun to attempt, as in this game there are plenty of Star Coins that are actually pretty tricky to obtain, making it more challenging on that aspect.
Difficulty - 8/10
Which brings us to our last category. This game is decently challenging for a Mario game on its own, but throw in the difficult 100% completion challenge as well as the pure chaos of bouncing on other players’ heads, sometimes accidentally killing you both, as well as the general increase in difficulty when it comes to the levels themselves, and you’ll quickly realize this isn’t as much of a walk in the park as some other Mario games. This game more than any other Mario bros game really tests your parkour skills and your reaction speed, which makes it that more fun to play.
Overall - 9.6/10
I didn’t factor in the story due to how non existent it is. Mario platformers have never revolved around a good story line so I won’t critique this one for its admittedly horrible story.
This is by far the best Mario Bros game out there. It’s got everything you could dream for. Great level design, good music, decently challenging, wacky and fun multiplayer and plenty more fun stuff.
I personally use this game as the golden standard of how I want my Mario games to be, and the closer you get to it the better.
But that’s all she wrote for this one. I don’t know when I’ll write something else, but I’m currently too busy beating this game with input delay while still being on 0 continues. Try me.

My 2nd Review   vizzy900
Now this is the game i can get my review on.  The Game starts off with Mario ,Luigi ,Blue and Yellow Toads celebrating Peach's Birthday ,when all of a sudden ,Peach gets kidnapped via a cake ,seriously ,how can those koopalings breathe in a cake? So those koopalings jump out of a cake ,throws the cake ,the cake lands on peach ,and the koopalings take off with the cake and peach. Mario and his friends chase off atfer them ,meanwhile the 2 other toads gave mario and friends what they need to head off for adventure. At the end ,Mario and his friends fly off in hot air balloons and the credits roll.
Therefore ,it is a pretty good game ,not bad ,considering that there are 9 worlds to get through.

An Inquisitive Breakdown of an Addicting Game -- My Unique Take on a Popular Game
Released in 2009, New Super Mario Bros holds popularity as the 5th best selling game on the Wii. It’s anything but an ordinary Mario game as it takes platforming to new heights. The game provides new innovations while keeping familiar aspects, making it appealing veteran and newer gamers alike.
As a popular game for the Wii, you’ll find that the price of this game has remained expensive over the years. As this is the case, my analysis should help you decide whether the game is worth the cost.
Without further ado, let’s jump in!
Graphics: 7 / 10
At first glance, the graphics appear clear but uninspired. While I do agree that the simple graphics of the maps look unimpressive, I see definite improvement from earlier games.
One of most common criticisms you will encounter about the graphics include a comparison between this game and Super Mario Galaxy. However, I would not advise you to jump the bandwagon. My own comparison of the two shows distinct graphics improvement in the HUD in NSMB and comparable sideway shots of characters. However, the two year age difference does raise viable qualms about the lack of impressive graphics.
The simplicity of the graphics do play an important role. For a franchise that has been popular decades, not only has the difficult role of keeping players of the older games interested. It also must capture the attention of the newer, younger generation of gamers, a daunting challenge. Keeping the same original looks of characters, enemies, and scenery with updated graphics, the game ambitiously pursues both types of gamers.
While they’ve improved, the lackluster graphics can only receive 7 / 10.
Sound / Music: 10 / 10
When you’re playing NSMB you’re going to hear new, improved tracks. You’re also going to hear older, recognizable 8-bit songs dating all the way back to the NES. Here again, we see NSMB appeal to both veteran and newer gamers. The designers found ways to make the mixture of music work perfectly within levels and you won’t be disappointed.
The quality of the songs cannot be ignored. Improved songs have slight instrumental adjustments and the clarity of sound is noteworthy.
Without a doubt, I was incredibly impressed. 10 / 10.
Addictiveness: 10 / 10
Based on the same run and jump gameplay that has made the franchise popular, the surprising addictiveness of mario games reasserts itself in NSMB.
Each level provides different challenges from the last. With an abundance of courses on each world, players can spend hour after hour working through levels without boredom.
Multiplayer options allow for up to four people to join in the fun. Playing with others exponentially increases the fun as players work the level together. Whether you show surprising teamwork with your friends or let the game devolve into battles where Mario tries to throw Toad off an edge, countless hours can be enjoyably spent on multiplayer. In this game, most multiplayer game binges only stop when all players are beyond tired.
While multiplayer does increase addictiveness incredibly, single player gameplay does not get old. Unlike other Wii games I own, single player remains addictive long after one beats the game. I still play single player several times a month after having owned and casually played the game for years.
That the impressive addictiveness of both single-player and multi-player lasts for years after first playing can only result in an addictiveness score of 10 / 10.
Story: 3 / 10
The lack of complexity in the story should not be surprising. Bowser’s children kidnap Princess Peach on her Birthday and the slow reaction time of Mario, Luigi, and the two Toads leads to eight worlds of addictive fun. Some of the more prominent bosses include Bowser Jr, Kamek, and finally, Bowser himself.
Of course, the overused story of saving Princess Peach from Bowser should make one realize that Mario is played for the game-play, not the story.
Regardless, the lack of complexity makes the story rate 3 / 10.
Depth: 9 / 10
Within the 8 worlds, there are numerous course levels. These each have three, often hidden, star coins that you try to find. Some levels have secret exits and others have secret rooms accessed from hidden pipes.
Besides the course levels, there are bonus mushroom levels where you can get power ups and extra lives.
While a daunting task, collecting all star coins in a world unlocks a level in a hidden World 9. I found the those levels incredibly difficult. Some of the star coins in W9 are nearly impossible to collect.
Without a doubt, the game provides impressive depth and it’s a long, difficult game for completionist players. For depth, 9 / 10.
Difficulty: 9 / 10
Don’t be fooled by the surprisingly easy first world. From the second world onwards, those 99 lives that you’ve racked up don’t last very long. A few infinite lives tricks exist, several available through videos that you can buy with star coins.
Lasting through a single level without a death proves impressive, but it’s incredibly hard to last several consecutively.
Even the most experienced Mario players will find later worlds in NSMB difficult. The difficulty entices veteran player to beat the game by testing their past experience. At first glance, this difficulty could deter new players. The game has a solution to that, too.
Excessive deaths allows one to watch a playthrough of Luigi beating the level. Secrets are not shown, so cheating by dying several times to watch playthroughs won’t help you get all the Star Coins or find secret exits.
The help for newer players only marginally decreases the difficulty, since it’s optional. Without use of the videos, completing the game proves challenging.
9 / 10.
Overall: 9.1 / 10
Holistically comparing important categories leads to an amazing overall score of 9.1 / 10.
NSMB has very few, minor weaknesses. The only clear weakness was the simple story, which hold little bearing in Mario games. The major strength was the continued addictiveness of both single and multiplayer gameplay years after buying the game.
If this game is one of your choices, I recommend that you get it. You get hundreds of hours of enjoyable game-play for your money.
You might decide to buy it if you want:
1. A game to satisfy gamers of all ages
2. to show a Mario veteran that there’s still a Mario game that (s)he’ll find difficult
3. hundreds of hours of addicting fun
In any case, the game is a great buy.
Analyzing NSMB has been a challenge, but I loved every minute of it. I hope you do too!
Thank you for reading!

Review for new Super Mario Bros. Wii   IgorBird122
Here's another review from IB122 and this is my first review on a modern game, New Super Mario Bros. Wii. This game is the 2nd game in the New Super Mario Series and for the 2nd game, they sure did a whole lot onto this game and made this game very neat looking.
The Graphics:
For the Wii, the graphics are pretty good, with this game added into the HD format graphics which we see in other Wii games, they really made this game's graphics look really good and very clear. Although some parts in this game could be a little fixed up, but if we compared to recent Mario games released, in a way, I don't think the graphics aren't that too bad though, in a way I really like them in this game, and the some of the effects in the game is very awesome as well including the flowers dancing to the music, this is really greatly gone with the graphics for the Wii that we haven't seen in past Mario games and I think this was an interesting feature Nintendo has came up with and I very much like this.
I give this a 8 out of 10
------
The Sound / Music:
For the Music in this game, it's pretty catchy for the Wii, I really love the sounds played in this game, although they isn't much songs into each of the games, but all of those does have an unique flavor which is quite nice to listen to, like the overworld, the caves, the Tower, the Castle, the Airship, the Ghost House, the Toad Houses, and the Enemy courses. The thing I like about the music, like I mentioned in the graphics, that the scenery, not just the flowers dancing, but the enemies and the power-ups dancing to it as well and I really like that effect with those things with the music being played in that one level.
As for the sound effects go, not a whole lot has changed from the DS version, some of them were the same, although the sounds a tiny bit more clearer that they were, plus we also got a couple new effects added into the game with the new power-ups and new enemies added in, so, in a way, the sound effects did get a tiny bit better, but the music did a major role in this game.
I give this a 9 out of 10
------
The Addictiveness:
For the addiction level of the game, some parts of the game can be pretty addicting and some, not so much, it's really where you play it at, but when you're playing, it seems like you don't want to stop playing it though, so pretty much, going back and playing it isn't as addicting than when your playing it because you want to play everything in the game and all it has into each of the levels and that my friend, can make a game a little addicting. For me, I think this game is very addicting for my point of view.
I give this a 7 out of 10.
------
The Story:

The story in this game hasn't much changed than we seen in other past Mario games, Bowser has found another way to kidnapped Princess Peach, but this time, it was Princess Peach's birthday party and Bowser is up to his own tricks again and decided to crash the party by sending in his 8 kids to ruin the party, they all grab Peach and start running off to the castle while Mario, Luigi and two of the Toads start chasing after them and thus, your adventure begins, you got to go through 8 different worlds and each world, each of the Koopalings tries to stop you from making it to Bowser's castle, but if you succeed, you'll reach his castle and save Peach again from Bowser. Also for the first time since Super Mario World, you have Yoshi helping to get through some levels you want to go though, the only disadvantage of this is only in some selected levels though.
I give this a 7 out of 10.

------
The Depth:
They're a quite of bit of depth into this game like you got 2 new power-ups added into this game (Propeller Mario and Penguin Mario) which can be pretty useful, especially with the propeller, when you're about to pall into a wide pit that wall jumping won't save you, you can pretty much shake the Wii remote and save yourself. Not just with new power ups, but you got 9 worlds to travel in (8 normal worlds and 1 bonus) and to unlock the bonus, you got to collect all the star coins in that world to unlock that level in world 9, also in some worlds, you can go into a warp cannon to a certain world it says, but to get to that, you got to find a secret exit to a level that is near the cannon to unlock it. And what else, oh yeah, you got a ton of new enemies returning to the series again plus some newer enemies to try and stop Mario and the guys from getting to Bowser and Peach.
I give this a perfect 10 out of 10.
------
The Difficulty:
If you're not experienced with a Mario game, then this game and be quite difficult to play, and yet, even experienced Mario fans can be challenged to this game as well and that is what makes this game very awesome, being challenging but not impossible to beat this game, the keyword is being patient and knowing what you're doing in this game. If you want to just get to world 8 and be done with the game, then this game is pretty easy to beat, but if you want to try and get 100% in this game, then that is going to take a whole lot of time to get accomplished.
I give this an 8 out of 10
------
Overall:
Overall, I really love this game, this is up there to be my top 5 most favorite Mario game, it's really that this game is pretty awesome to play, if you feel like playing a Mario game that has some long levels, then this game is pretty much for you to try out and play, or if you have up to 3 other friends, you can have them play with you on this game and have some fun playing this game together or you can play it online with friends. If you got a Wii, I highly recommend this game for you to play if you haven't played this already.

Overall, I give this game a 9 out of 10

New Super Mario Bros.: RAGE QUIT!   mlb789
New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii is a remake of the DS version, but is slightly better.  It is also one of the games in the Mario series, a series that goes back to about 1985.  It is also one of the most annoying and stupid games at the same time, especially if you are playing with two or more people.  Not only is there the main basic game that we all love, but there are new integrations added in to this game, which while making it more fun, can also make it extremely more frustrating at the same time.

Graphics 8:  These graphics are definitely not the best graphics the Wii has to offer, but at least they are better than Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3.  They definitely get the job done in terms of helping you be able to play the game and have fun while you are playing it.

Sound 9:  Almost the same good sound from the original Mario Bros., but you know no game could ever beat that game in sound.  I also like how whenever the songs are playing in the worlds, the enemies jump accordingly to when the music does something.

Addictiveness 7:  This game is addictive, but can also make you get a little mad at the game.  This hampers the addictiveness because you will have to put it down after you get mad, unless you play well under those conditions.  But, you will still be able to lose hours in this game at a time as you play.

Story 1:  If this was the original Mario I would give it a much higher score, but this is not the original.  You basically have the same story over and over again in these Mario games (or something similar).  It would be nice if they could still make a game with worlds but with a different story line (other than saving things).

Depth 8:  The depth is pretty good, as you are given eight worlds, but you still will end the game at some point.  I am pretty sure that you also have a different mode, or you could just beat this game with friends after you do it individually.
Difficulty 10:  This game is probably the hardest game I have played in a while.  I literally RAGE QUIT (thus the title) after playing this game for an hour.  I think it took me about 8 continues to beat the first world, and it all went downhill from there.  I don't know about you, but when you play multiplayer, it seems to get tougher.  Not only that, but playing multiplayer allows your teammate to grab you and throw you into the lava, making it very hard to trust your teammate.  Also, you have to wait for all the people, unless you want to kill them all.

Overall 8.6:  This is a very hard and fun game that you should try out.  I would advise you, though, to be weary of your surroundings as you just might experience a moment of rage as you play this game.
