Milton Bradley Classic Board Games for PC   classgame
*to the tune of that song Lisa Simpson sang in the episode Last Exit to Springfield* Come gather 'round children I'll tell you a tale, about a time when we got games in cereal boxes. Oh god the only thing I miss about the early 2000s is getting computer games out of cereal boxes, there was one specific one I wanted that's right WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE, but that's for another day, today I'm going to talk about Milton Bradley Classic Board Games.
Gameplay and Story: Okay there's no story here, it's just a game that has a collection of board games, some you'll have heard of some you haven't (seriously I hadn't heard of Backgammon, or Parcheesi or Pente before I played this) What's Pente you ask? it's like connect 4 without those coins, you play it on a game board you have to capture two of your opponents tokens....you know I also had an extras video that shows Ace who is basically the main character of the game, he shows up in the intro, he shows up after you sign in for the first time and he introduces himself, and the only other time he shows up is if you click on the tutorial buttons and he tells you show to play the game you are currently playing. There are other characters but they serve no purpose except for avatars. You can pick a magician, a wrestler, a little girl (uh....why?) a spy, a beauty queen that would get along great with the spy, a farmer and his pig, some old socialite and her dog....is all of them? well there's also Jekyll Clyde, but he does like his name sake. There is one more character you can unlock but that's only if you win a game on master mode....which I have done once, you can unlock but cannot play as the King of Spades....which is actually some nerd.
Graphics: The graphics are very impressive especially on the game boards (or the stand in Connect 4, oh yeah they have connect 4 for some reason).
Sound: OMG! the soundtrack is fantastic!!! it fits right in with the atmosphere, I don't know what the right term for it is but it makes it feel like you are in some kind of gaming club where pretty girls are the ushers or the waitresses are gorgeous (don't worry this game is appropriate). It's easy an underground gaming club or some Speakeasy.
Addictive: Well this is one game that keeps me coming back, and that's Parcheesi I'll explain in a bit.
Depth: Okay here are the games you can play, there's Backgammon, where you knock your opponents game pieces off the board if there is only one game piece on an occupied square and make it to the end of the board. Checkers, I don't think I need to explain, Chess, again no explanation needed, but long story short I've never won a game of chess in this game just a couple of draws. There's Connect 4 again no explanation needed, there's Dominoes a connector game, try to clear the board and have the fewest number of bones and pips possible because whoever clears the board wins the round the points depend on how many pips are left over per player that still has bones. There's Parcheesi which kind of reminds me of Pop-o-matic Trouble, minus the pop, and you use two dice instead of one, but the game goes way back like back in ancient times, enough so that that there's evidence that the Mayans played Parcheesi during their existence, except when you knock an opponents marker off you get 20 moves. However like Monopoly if the dice rolls double three times during your turn your leading game piece will be sent back to start. Also if your marker lands on a finishing spot you can use any of your remaining pieces to take ten spaces. I don't know what triggers the doublers which show up once in awhile though. Last but not least, There's Pente, which I explained in the gameplay and story area oh wait no I didn't I'll need to post that extras video as well where Ace does the talking.
Difficulty: You can set the difficulty to whichever difficulty level you please, it can be easy if you are completely unknown to the game or you can set it to master to unlock the King of Spades.
Post review Follow up: Now how do I get this to 1000 words? well like I said I got this game from a cereal box, I wish I got more of these games, the only other games I got was Millionaire (which I already brought up) Winnie the Pooh Print Studio (the only good thing about it is, we can get Pooh font installed, no seriously we can use Pooh font) and Aladdin Activity Center....you know come to think of it I think Kraft tried to do this too because apparently I managed to get Aladdin Nasira's Revenge off of a KD box, oh for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about Kraft Dinner is Kraft Macaroni and Cheese in Canada. Oh you know what, I think I also got an Atari Disc and a Trivial Pursuit game but I never could get it to work on my Virtual machines which disappointed me and WAIT A MINUTE.... I KNOW WHAT TO PLAY AND REVIEW LATER!!!!!!!!!! I SHALL REVIEW TRIVIAL PURSUIT FOR SEGA MASTER SYSTEM LATER! hey it's a bonus review day.
This concludes my review, join me next time when.....you know I should really do a second review today since today's Double CP action is posting a review, what which one should I do? I'm doing Who Wants to Be A Millionaire 3rd edition tomorrow (and I'll need to play it again for a proper review)
