InFamous: Second Son (My first review)   BlueBlood
First time reviewing. Sorry if it's bad.
Graphics: Infamous Second Son is one of the most beautiful games that I have played. It has a good use particle physics and light to make your powers and surroundings as life-like and breath-taking as possible. Whether it's the next generation console or Sucker Punch getting better, I don't know. It also has a few flashback cut-scenes using a comic book style animation that is just stunning, having me rank it a 10.
Sound: This game has lots of background music ranging from soothing to fly about the city, to intense, rapid chase themed music. The sound effects are also top-notch, utilizing the speaker built into the ps4 controller, you can hear element that you are absorbing. This makes for even more immersing game play. One downside is the scanner and sirens have a bit of a high pitched noise to it and may be irritable for some with sensitive ears. Good music, great sound effects, sensitive ears, makes me rank it a 9.
Addictiveness: While being really fun to play for the first time, there isn't all too much to bring you back. If you like flying around tall buildings an causing as much death or help as possible, it will keep you on it for days. If not, then two story modes is probably all that you're getting out of this game. Ranking: 6.
Story: If you area fan of the franchise or new to it, this game still has a good storyline to it. You play as D Rowe, a newly empowered conduit (he can control an element) as he seeks either revenge or to make things right for his tribe, which was brutally tortured by Brooke Augustine, the main antagonist. You have lots of encounters and adventures all depending on what choices you make. Interesting story, I'll give it a 9
Depth: This is one of those " you decide if you are a hero or villain" games. You come across many situations in which you have to make a good choice or a bad choice and all of your decisions add to your karma meter. Your karma effects your skill tree and the color of your powers. The game has powers, missions, and experiences that vary on the path that you choose. There aren't any collectibles aside from shards which act as experience points, but many repetitive side missions. The game does make you want to replay the story at least once. There are only two choices to each decision so replaying and choosing each decision as the opposite you did the first time for a new ending is common. LOTS to do but a bit repetitive, gets a 9.
Difficulty: The game has different settings of difficulty, but it doesn't make too much of a difference unless you turn it to extreme. The only challenging part is the final boss, and maybe getting all the side things, but as far as main game play, blast, dash ,hide, repeat and game is easy enough to beat on any setting. Difficulty judgement: 5.
Thanks for reading.

What is this!?   Illikas
inFAMOUS: Second Son... Ugh!
I will start off by saying that the only thing I legitimately enjoyed about whatever this game is was the graphics. It felt like it must have required a whole lot of effort to capture the overall beautiful backdrop.
BUT! My praise ends right there. For starters, the soundtrack overall is SO mind-numbingly repetitive. To me, the work ethic of the sound crew felt like this, pretty much: "Let's put all our effort into the opening scene's background music and perform so mundane after that, the player(s) won't even notice there's a soundtrack anymore for the rest of the game."
I found that the gameplay was... decent, at the absolute best. It was just kind of... there. I've literally only replayed this game once, and that was for the alternate ending. Other than that, I might never pick it up again.
The story overall was likely the least enjoyable thing in the entire franchise for me. Everything from the characters who were as annoying as they were pointless, to the boring and forgettable main villain (including her master plan), to the fact that the only acknowledgement of the previous two games whatsoever was in the form of a costume and a loading screen tip, were all frustrating beyond belief to me personally.
I don't doubt this game has it's fair share of fans, but when it comes to me, I find myself lacking anything good to say about this game outside the graphics.

Amazing game overall   800dbcloud
This game is really just an overall awesome game. This was the first PS4 game that I've played and so far the best. First off I'll talk about the graphics. Because of this game being on a next gen console the graphics are absolutely beautiful. There is so much detail in the graphics. This game runs on the havok engine which makes the game that much more beautiful.
Now I'll talk about the sound. The games music really fits the main charcter. I also loved the background music. It really just fits the game. I don't really know what else to say about the sound so I'm just going to move on.
Okay next up I'm going to talk about addictiveness. This game is very addictive and replayable. It had me playing it again and again after I beat it. Sometimes I'll find small little details each time I play it again. There's not really much else to say about how addictive this game is.
Okay now I'm going to talk about the story. The story is not the best but still manages to pull off a decent story. In the last two games someone named Cole MacGrath found out that he had the conduit gene which when activated gives humans certain powers. A lot of people think that this is abnormal and call them freaks and try to get rid of them but fail. In Second Son there's an organization called the D.U.P. which capture conduits and lock them up. There were a few who escaped from a D.U.P. truck, which just so happened to crash in the main character Delsin's home, so the leader came and investigated. After Delsin goes to protect his family his conduit gene activates because of the of the people who escaped using his powers on him. The leader harms his most of his family and the only way to heal them is with her powers so Delsin goes to "absorb" her powers. After she
kills Delsin's brother
he kills her and heals his family. Changes can be made depending on if you choose good or evil. I'll talk more about that in depth.
Okay now I'm going to talk about the Depth of the game. There is TONS of stuff to do in this game. First off you can choose two different paths: good and evil. This effects which powers you get. You upgrade your powers by getting blast shards from these little flying quadcopters around your map. You also get FOUR different types of powers. You start out with smoke at the beginning but then you get neon video and after you beat the game you get
concrete
. You can also do this thing called paper trail where you go to a website on your computer, enter your PSN name, go do a mission in a game and collect a clue, and investigate the clue on the computer to tell you your next mission. I have never seen this in a game before. Then there's also a DLC which just adds to the depth of the game. In the DLC you play as the girl that you get your neon powers from as she tries to escape from the D.U.P. . There are also a lot of fun side missions including a lot where you use the PS4 remote like a spraycan and do stencil art.
Now I'll talk about the difficulty. The game was pretty easy but there were sometimes when the game got frustrating. Sometimes its just not knowing what to do next or how to get to a certain point but its pretty easy to figure out. After you upgrade your powers to a certain point your pretty much invincible. Now if you play on the hardest difficulty (which since I wanted to get every trophy I did) then its another story. It gets pretty frustrating when its on its hardest difficulty. The D.U.P. guys DO NOT hold back. That's all I really have to say about the difficulty.
Well that was my review. This is only my second game review so its not too great but hey I'm getting better. Now I'm not sure if this counts as advertising but I'm pretty sure it doesn't but I've already beat the game so I put it up for trade on this site if anyone else wants to give it a try. I'll only take PS3 and PS4 games preferably are close to the price of this game in the price guide. I'll also take two games that add up to close to the same price. Sorry if this counts as advertising if any of the staff or mods/admins ask me to take this part down I have no problem with taking it down.
