Day of Defeat lets you experience the action of WWII from different battlefield positions. You can join the Axis or Allied forces as a unique player class, which includes everything from scouts to sharpshooters. Stationed in the heart of WWII's European theater of operations, you'll fight with your squad in an effort to accomplish missions based on key historical battles. Success in Day of Defeat depends on how well you play your role and how skilled you are with the game's historical weaponry.

*NOTE* 100 can be substituted for anything, but I use 100 and get about 70-85 FPS
Lighten the Screen
*NOTE* Depending on current settings, the results could be anywhere from huge difference to minor change in shadow
Open console
type in lightgamma 0
play!
This must be entered in every time you start your game, so it helps to bind it to a key!
Numerical Ping
To display numbers along with dots for latency on a server type -numericping in the shortcut's target line.
Turn Off Background Sounds
To turn off background sounds so you can hear footsteps and real fire better type stopsound in the console.
