Batman: Arkham Asylum Review by: darthyoda - 9.5/10

Lets Visit Arkham Asylum!
You want to feel like Batman? Have you ever wondered what else Mark Hamil (Jedi Knight, Luke Skywalker) would sound like as a Bad guy? Well, this is the one to answer this question. This game, Batman: Arkham Asylum, is the critically acclaimed Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Masterpiece! Every sight that gave a rating on this game, gave almost full scores! I will try to do this awesomeness justice!

Graphics: The Unreal Engine has great Graphics! All games with it are amazing! Batman: Arkham Asylum is no different from that standard! The animations are realistic, but they keep the Dark Comic Book feel! The character designs are brilliant! With a precise animation style on everything, from the guards, the bosses like Harley Quinn and Joker, to Batman, all have the same standard, which is VERY high! The cape on Batman doesn't have any flaws, like hanging to him, or moving independently from him. It moves as you move Batman, this sounds simple, until you take a look at some great games, like Assassin's Creed I. This game has no substandard designs! It doesn't beat Skyrim in design and Graphics, but rather, it ties, in my opinion! It may seem odd to compare the two, but even my off-the-assembly-line computer, it's a brilliant design.
I may not have said much, I compared it to other games with Great Graphics. But, this game has AMAZING graphics, I can't say that enough! 10/10.

Sound: Creepiness. A new word to use here. This game has the sounds that keep the suspense high! This game doesn't have a reputation for a dark game for no reason. The voices are really well done. In the intro, I mentioned that they brought in Mark Hamil... You know, Luke from the original Star Wars movies! But, through out his tender and  kind voice, throw in an immeasurable amount of creepy and that's what his voice sounds like! Batman doesn't have the gruff voice like in the Movies, and he doesn't say, "I'm Batman!" But, don't make that a negative point! The cut-scenes have the same sounds and voices as the rest of the game, this might sound standard, but often the quality of the voices are worse in-game then in-cut-scene! But, not with this game!
I just love the sounds in this game! Everything was done to the fullest extent with the best amount of detail! An Obvious 9/10 is a given!

Addictiveness: Is it addictive to be one of the most popular comic book heroes of all time? I say, yes! This game is addictive because of the fluid combat, the depth and pretty much everything else that the game has. I love the stuff in this game! What makes it more addictive? Because of the feel the game gives, it's very addictive, building up hit combos, finishers, and counter-attacks has never been done this good! Explore, fight, everything is made fun!
It is addictive, so isn't it good that I gave it a 9/10.

Story: You are Batman, but this isn't a good enough story for most... So, you are Batman, and you bring Joker to Arkham Asylum? Why the question mark? That's easy, he's lured you into a trap! Yes, you have fallen prey to his evil plan! Does that sound better? Okay, that's only the VERY beginning. This part of the story un-hatches before you even get to fight anyone! In fact, you get to fight your first ones, after that! But, before you fight and fall prey, you are suspicious, because when capturing Joker, he didn't fight as much as usual. This makes it suspicious, what could he be planning? The story is amazing! You can fight and have story! This game has both elements and they did both just as good! Any lower rating would almost be a Crime!
Hahaha *Joker Laugh* You thought I would tell you the score! Oh, okay, I guess I will. 9/10.

Gameplay/ Controls: The Arkham games are well known for their smooth controls! The Combat is as fluid as I've seen in a game! The Transitions from Cut-Scene to normal are short and they don't lag! I could almost say that this is one of the best games, even the loading doesn't take long, and after the short loading, it doesn't load often! It loads once, and then you can play! (That's the way it feels, when comparing it to other games.) It's just incredible. The controls are really easy to learn! All you need to know is the Left click, for attack, right click for counter-attack, move mouse for changing the target, and the movement. Even with just that, most anything is easy. But, it gets a little more complicated than that. You need "X" for Detective mode, "F" for grapple and some other keys, but those aren't used all the time! It's easy to learn, and once you know it, it's as easy as it gets! But, don't let the simple controls fool you into thinking it's a walk in the park! It can get hard, especially if you let your guard down.
Well, I pretty much just give it a good or bad rating here... It's Good! The controls are simple, and it's smooth! 10/10

Depth: Well, I did say that this was an open world type game, right? This game encourages you to explore, find the Riddler's clues to get Predator and Combat Challenges. You can level your combat skills up, if you use steam, then you have Achievements. There are combos, Character Bios, and of coarse something which isn't necessarily a usual feature to put in depth, but I'll put it here. Detective Vision, this reveals a vent, which can be part of the story, or just a path to a Riddler Clue. (One of the total 240.) There is so much to do! I love it, because of the things you can do! Glide, run, jump, dodge, fight, and do whatever you want!
You know what batsy? (Nickname for Batman) I'll give you a 9/10.

Difficulty: The game isn't too hard, until you need to fight the bigger guys. The normal, 'Joes", are easy. But, it gets harder, when you need to fight guys with a knife, a bat, or a gun. Guns, those can't kill you, sure. Keep saying that. Especially to a group of four guys. The only way to take out these guys is with Stealth! Yes, this is a stealth game, if you want to play it that way! Find a way to get behind them, and then take-down time! Yes, this makes it easier, but what if they spot you? Well, then you are dead. Have fun trying it over! hehe!
It's not too hard, unless you try to go in, gunz-a-blazin'. I still give it a high rating, because it's well rounded. 9/10.

Overall: Well, let me sum up awesomeness... It's just great! They went out to create a Comic Book style game, with realistic elements, and this was done to the smallest bit! Rocksteady and Warner Bros made a great game, with all the Tech, the Realistic Combat, and great story. I've never played a game with this fast of loading time. Also, the great voice acting, of coarse you should expect this with Actors like Mark Hamil. Could I give a lower rating then, 9.5/10?

Yoda has spoken, do you agree? (Also, notice the layout, that is the character design style!)
