"It seems this game has met an incredible fate"Time......We need more time.....If only we could go back in time *pulls out ocarina*. Ahh Zelda Majora's Mask the N64 sequel to Ocarina Of Time, Nintendo took the world by storm once again and created a masterpiece of a sequel to it's already highly successful Zelda game Ocarina of time. Now many may wonder "Wait what does time have to do with this game? The word time isn't even in the title", well we'll get to why time is involved in this game later in the review. To put the record straight this game takes place after link leaves hyrule at the end of Ocarina Of Time as a child it doesn't take place after Link killed ganon/ganondorf at the end of ocarina of time. Just wanted to make that fact now as it is important to the story of this and another Zelda game but anyway let's get started on the review now so sit back and enjoy.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in this game are amazing for it's time especially for only being a 64-Bit game. The graphics are actually upgraded from Ocarina Of Time to this game such as Link's equipment, Dungeons, and even the towns themselves look slightly better than they did in Ocarina of time which makes this games graphics earn a rating of 10 out of 10.
Difficulty: 7.5/10
Once again this is one of those games where the difficulty isn't the fault of programming errors or game designers making the game extremely difficult, but in which the difficulty falls on the player itself as you have to actually use your brain as some points in this game to solve puzzles much like in other games such as Paper Mario, Metroid, and Phoenix Wright (Gyakuten Saiban-JPN). Most people do not like the idea of having the 3-Day time limit in the game but I actually think it makes the game better as it adds that tension and inspiration to see if you can finish what you need to do or see how much you can do in a 3-Day Time Span. Great Work on difficulty 7.5 out of 10 is the difficulty rating I feel it deserves.
Depth: 10/10
This game has alot to offer even if you beat the game as you can go back and try to fill in the entire Bomber's Notebook, try to find all the pieces of heart in the game, collect every single mask, get all the stray fairies in the temples and find some glitches/or hidden chests. Also like I described in the difficulty section there is a 3-Day time limit in which you have 72 hours to finish all the temples and gain the powers of the 4 Giants the are the guardians of the 4 lands of termina Swamp,Mountain,Ocean, & Canyon so you can stop the skull kid and prepare for a final battle. Finally unlike in Ocarina Of Time when you beat the bosses you can still fight them again when you go back to the temple. There's alot to do and this game offers alot of fun and enjoyment so 10 out of 10 my rating for depth.
Story: 10+/10
Oh my goodness the story in this game......there is no use denying it, this has to be my most favorite story in any game I've ever played. It starts of telling us that link had left hyrule on a journey a very personal journey a search of a valuable friend whom many people including me think it's Navi the fairy. Soon after you see Link in the woods riding on Epona while looking around for any sight of his friend and while he is looking around, 2 fairies that belong to a certain character go near Epona and knock Link off of Epona the character named Skull Kid then approached Link looking for anything interesting he has on him and finds his Ocarina Of Time. Link then wakes up and gives chase toward the skull kid who then runs off, after a long search he finds the skull kid who instantly places a curse on Link turning him into a Deku Scrub. While searching for a way out of the pit he fell into he meets up with a person inside of what appears to be a clock tower, the man bargains with Link saying that if he returns the precious item that was stolen from him he could change Link back to his human self. However once he steps outside he see's that the town is in peril as a Giant moon is about to crash into the land of Termina right when they're planning on having their end of year carnival now it's your job to stop the moon as well as the skull kid. This whole story combined with some of the aspects in the game really make this game great for all it's worth and is the reason why this game is one of the best known games in gaming history. Perfect story if I could rate higher then ten I would but since I can't I'll just have to give it a rating of 10 out of 10 awesome story lets move on to the next subject of this review
Sound: 10/10
The soundtrack in this game is so memorable from it's temple themes to the song learned on the ocarina to the giants theme that plays when you finish the temple boss and finally the theme that plays when you only have a couple hours left before the moon crashes into the town. It's amazing how the game creators were able to make such beautiful music be developed into the game especially on a cartridge since this music is something you could expect to hear on a disc system like the gamecube, xbox 360, or PS3 just to name a few systems. If you love the music from it's predecessor (Ocarina Of Time) or just like instrumental music all together then you will most certainly enjoy the music that's to be found in this game. Excellent soundtrack and effects 10 out of 10 is the only choice that I can choose to put in my review.
Addictiveness: 10/10
No matter how many times I beat this game I always find myself restarting the game from scratch and completing everything I can in the game all over again. It's just such a amazing game with it's amazing soundtrack, outstanding story, and compelling temples and boss fights it just never gets old no matter how many times you've played it just like with Super Mario 64 or Super Mario RPG to some people it will never cause them to stop playing the game no matter how many time you've beaten/played it. I've had the Nintendo 64 and Majora's Mask with me for 15 years now and I still find my self playing it at least 1 time every year, now I'm not trying to overate this game cause I grew up with it cause I'm sure if you ask many other gamers you'll see they'll say it's a really great game. With it's infinite addictiveness value I give this game a 10 out of 10 for Addictiveness.
So that's Zelda Majora's Mask a extremely interesting story along with it's great game-play. This game will leave you with a great feeling on the inside whenever you play it but it think it's time I put this review to rest so I guess my work here *Bells Chime* is finished *Bells Chime* and it looks like your job *Bells Chime* to stop the moon from demolishing the town is beginning so good luck in trying to save the town as my time here is running out. -> A v -> A v *Played Song Of Time*
