I mean...he can live without one, but why not? It doesn't lower his attack power or anything.

I was wondering if the development was still going well! I'm glad to hear this is getting released. While it may not actually run on the PS1, this still looks like it was very, very difficult to put together, and tries pretty hard to mimic the real thing. I'll have to give it a go and see what it's really like to play. Maybe this is the Bloodborne PC port so many people were asking about...

I was more into the movies and especially the video game adaptations. I have very fond memories of the handheld ones - Chamber of Secrets was good, and Prisoner of Azkaban was a surprisingly competent JRPG. I tried to get into the books as a kid, but even then I had trouble maintaining the attention to read through it. It probably didn't help that I knew the general plots from watching the movies beforehand. I always want to eventually sit down and read them, but reading is the thing I have the most trouble actually making time to do.

In other words - I was never super-obsessed, but I was a fan when it was popular.

I guess I did get seven points...That's enough for me, I wasn't really trying to compete. It's nice to see people still in serious competition for the jerseys here. I'm especially happy to see classgame doing her thing and making things fun.

I'm glad I built something before any of the whole cryptocurrency-mining business started. I might consider upgrading my GPU along with my CPU at some point, but the current situation means I'm definitely not upgrading my GPU any time soon.

On the "scalping" point, I have no idea how you could perfectly, concretely define scalping well enough to enforce it consistently. I can only assume some people are out there actually buying them for these hideously inflated prices...This was a problem before, it's just more of a problem with the Internet making it easier to buy in bulk and register 324 bot accounts to buy anything that has a per-account limit.

It's good that you've at least got it back up now. I'm very much a fan of supporting smaller services that aren't part of the current tech monopoly, but this probably would get me looking at other options. I was wondering what was going on, but I just dismissed it as my internet being wonky. If Vizzed didn't need so much storage and everything, I'd suggest self-hosting, but it's not that simple in this case.

I'm just really confused...I can understand KH3, since that was made with the PS4 in mind, but the other two don't make any sense to be cloud-exclusive. They ran just fine on the PS3, and that's significantly weaker than the Switch, and they also ran fine on the PS2 originally, so what's up? The bundle price is about as expected, honestly, it's the cloud thing that I'm confused about.

Guess this is one more finger on the monkey's paw curling inwards - the last one was when people wished for KH on PC, and they got $200 Epic-exclusive KH on PC.

Played through Deltarune's first two chapters again. Still interesting the second time through, especially with random challenges and other ideas in place.

Awesome to see people still actively posting and going for jerseys after so long. I'm gonna root for zanderlex and classgame for now.

I've been really getting into challenge runs recently, where you try to beat games under some kind of self-imposed handicap. They put a fun, challenging spin on any game, and really make you think hard and deep about the mechanics to succeed. I recently did a challenge where I beat Undertale without dodging any attacks and got the True Pacifist ending - it actually made me think deep about Undertale's combat mechanics and abuse things I never knew about before, like using Dog Residue in battle to generate extra Dog Salad for healing.

Anyone else have any challenge runs they've attempted or beaten? I'd love to hear about them. If you've watched any challenge run videos you especially enjoyed, that's worth posting about too, especially if they're from more obscure people!

Glad you were able to find a solution. Might be worth checking deep and fixing the main issue causing messages attached to PMs to not be sent, though.

The Flash plugin was safe, as someone who had the same concern when I first registered. It's not necessary any more, though, now that Flash is being killed off. The site itself isn't especially dodgy, outside of having a design that's getting a little dated. You can still do plenty of emulation through RetroArch and its HTML-based web player, though, which is entirely safe. Hopefully you'll stick around on the forum end of this site, by the way, and welcome to the site!

Seems like a good idea. Question is, are you hoping for people to upload their own games here? 2k and 2k3 games are different from ROMs in that a lot of the people who made them are still around and aren't always happy if others try to host their work, especially on a site that has ads. I'm sure you should be able to get a decent library of games that were entirely abandoned or uploaded by their creators, though, and EasyRPG is improving fast. If it's ever possible to build for HTML5, mkxp-z would also be worth looking into.

A good way to put it is that you can't force someone to change. It has to be of their own volition. You can force someone to pretend to change, but all that'll do is make them resent you and sink deeper into whatever path you're trying to get them away from. As painful as it is, there's no way to help someone who refuses to accept any help or help themselves - at least, not without enabling them and causing them to inevitably fall back into the same behavior within a short time.

Granted. They love it so much that the company behind La Croix can't make more fast enough and it's always sold out. You never manage to find any more on store shelves, and the only other way would be buying it from scalpers selling it for several hundred dollars.

I wish people could take the Internet less seriously than they do.

I played it, and I had some issues with it. First one being that you should definitely pick up the GBA or PSP versions if you're going to play the game at all, because the NES version is even more unbalanced.

Other issues I had included major game mechanics not being explained (it took until the final dungeon before I found out that buff spells actually spread their effects like healing and damage magic across multiple targets, and I never found out how evasion worked until after I beat the game), a plot with potential that spends all its time following boring protagonists, and stat increases that feel random and unrewarding. There's never a guarantee, even if you lose almost all your HP or MP in one battle, that you'll get any useful stat increase - and even if you do, it's very little compared to how much you have to use to get it. For the record, though, it was better balanced than FF3 - I got through without needing savestates for the final dungeon because you're allowed to save.

Are there any JRPGs you really like that need more love than they get? For me, the ones I can think of are Great Greed, Summon Night: Swordcraft Story, and a few RPG Maker games I've played over the years. Great Greed is the only environmentalist JRPG that I've ever played, and it's unique and well-designed enough to be worth playing. Summon Night: Swordcraft Story feels like Tales of Phantasia with better balance and good controls, and RPG Maer stuff like 8-Bit Adventures, Tales Across Time, and Villnoire are excellent for what they are.

One I can think of is VICE: Project Doom. It may not be the most original game out there, nicking elements from Ninja Gaiden and Spy Hunter, but it incorporates all of them well. It looks and sounds great for the time, and manages to walk the thin line of challenge without feeling cheap or overly difficult. I feel like it aged very well, maybe even better than the original Ninja Gaiden did.

I just found out this board existed. Go figure. I ended up getting a PS4 a while ago, and got it in a bundle with Spider-Man alongside the console. I played bits and pieces of it, but sat down and decided to finish it and platinum it earlier this year.

The trophies weren't extremely difficult - mostly just being either required, time-consuming, or cryptic. I did complete every single mission the game had to offer, so I still feel like I deserved the platinum trophy from it.

Last trophy before the plat was actually the one for finishing the game. I'd done everything else beforehand. Honestly, doing everything got a bit repetitive after a bit, especially some missions - time trials and beating up about 100 dudes in one sitting are only entertaining for so long with game mechanics like these that are fun but repetitive. It was still a good game, just not incredibly groundbreaking for me.
